Temptation is a strange story. It isn't necessarily about an affair. It is the story of a couple in a desperate situation that make desperate decisions which changes their lives forever. One woman turns from sweet to bitter while the other turns from cold to caring. The men's characters pretty much stay the same. I'm confused as to why I watched this and found it interesting. I found that my opinion on the characters of this drama is very different from the opinions of other people.

I have read countless comments of symathy for Na Hong Joo played by Park Ha Sun. I'm probably the only person that finds her character to be at first fake, then bitter and hateful. I don't for a minute buy into the thought that she was ever sweet and innocent. She forgets that she started the chain of events with her desperate action. What did she think her husband would do knowing that he caused her to take that desperate act over money? She made Cha Seok Hoon played by Kwon Sang Woo do something that he would have never thought of doing except that he knew it would save his family monitarily. Then when he tried to make it up to her and prove his love, she turned away from him. To top it off she goes on to blame him for the misery she creates herself and becomes a bitter bitch that I just can't stand. Now, I don't for one minute believe that Yoo Se Young played by Choi Ji Woo is blameless. However, I don't think she is the evil crazy bitch that everyone seems to think that she is. I think she was lonely and bored. She says she was testing them, but I believe she just wanted what they had for even a minute. However, the writer turning her into a victim is stupid and doesn't fit her character as a strong successful woman. Now, for Kang Min Woo played by Lee Jung Jin. I find no redeaming characteristics in this narcissistic jerk who treats women like objects and has no respect for people in general. I can't stand him. The other actors are fine. If you like C.N.Blue, then you will enjoy Lee Jong Shin's part as Hong Joo's brother.

The music is excellent.

I probably won't rewatch this.

I'm not sure if I recommend this drama. Watch it at your own discression.

Do you want to hear a 2nd Opinion on this drama : ) ?

Ok, Let’s see, why did I like it :

A – Actors: I DO LIKE how fresh and dare the roles is for both main Leads, sure I am a fan for them together and separately and I do believe they are very good actors, However , to accept a role that you might be judged upon from viewers as unfaithful husband and a cold hearted home wrecker women, this is intimidating ..

B – Storyline : The fact that there is no Black and White zones, it’s not villains and angels show, so if you are looking for a show like this, most properly you wouldn’t like this one , However this show beautifully mirrored how a human can change , grow to love, grow to hate , grow to be insecure even in the strongest relationships..

C – Most viewers who started the show , completed it even though they didn’t like it , sure for different reasons, but I would put this kind of drama on my drama list for sure , it got the factors that builds every good drama , good storyline with slow paced development..

D – The soundtracks , I needn’t say more, it’s purely addictive :) and well played..

Finally , the ending seemed realistic , reflecting hope , although I was quite sure the last 5 episodes could have been more invested and more detailed to enrich the ending more .. it left me feeling that may be 2 more episodes are needed.

Go ahead and watch the drama if you want a mature realistic romance

Temptation is a show you will either love or absolutely hate. There is no in between, and i generally believe that, this is the case with controversial stories like this one. People don't necessarily hate the drama, but what the drama presents. If there is one thing this drama does right, that is that it makes you want to watch, you cannot stop! Take a moment and think, how many people rated this drama with a 1.0. I, for one, when i hate something i drop it, but no, people stuck with it and watched it all, and even bothered to write several hate reviews (big ones). Before you rush to rage-dislike my review, since you hated the drama because of its nature, give my thoughts a go. We live in free countries, don't we?

STORY
The story talks about extramarital affairs. It doesn't say that they are good, and everyone should have one, no. It doesn't defend cheaters, no, not at all. Affairs are situations that happen, life isn't about pink rainbows where hot cute chaebol men with abs and hidden psycological issues but big hearts live and wait for a cute girl to love forever. No. Life is shitty and it hurts, and can go from being absolutely perfect to being absolutely hurtful and miserable. The drama also talks about money: 'Money can, indeed, buy everything. How much are you worth for?'. This is an idea that circled my mind many times while watching. Can money make you really happy?. The show generally posses the notion of MONEY VS MORALS. Which one will win? The answer may seem easy, but in reality it may not be! Lastly, the main idea of the show is Happiness. Life's goal should be happiness. What i understood from watching the drama was: 'Do whatever the fuck you need to do in order for you to be happy'. There is no shame in trying to be happy. Have you heard the proverb: 'The end justifies the means'?. Ok now, you can hate me, i kind of hate myself because i know this is wrong, but i believe it and the drama obviously believes it too (no don't rage-dislike the review yet, i talk a lot)

Firstly, i'll judge the shitty description. What an awful description, whoever wrote it hated the show himself lol. What the description says, happens and finishes in the first 2 episodes. The drama wants to show what happens after that. Also the 'submission' part, the description throws in there, doesn't even happen. The description lets everything in the air, give you a very vague and misleading idea of what the drama is about. The affair, barely ever happens, never gets physical and doesn't include any type of 'submission'. I, myself, was expecting some heavy sexual stuff happening, but nothing like that happens, at all!

The show basically has 2 goals: 1. (delivered in the first half) how can a loving marriage break down in a few minutes because of DOUBTS! Yes it can happen, love can't save everything (like rom-coms make us think), love isn't enough, and love isn't forever. Even if the affair never really happened, all it takes for someone's trust to be destroyed are a few moments of doubts, and everything crumbles down like it is nothing! Amazing, yet so true! Goal 2. Can't a person love a different person? No? Because they were married that is it? I am against adultery by all means, of course i am, but everyone is raving about love and how beautiful it is, but love isn't one-sided, like: i love YOU, it's YOU it will always be YOU. Yes, we all want that YOU to be forever, but sometimes, it isn't. Should we be forever depressed if that love with the YOU doesn't work? Or should we try to be happy once again? SECOND CHANCES, thats what i understood from the 2nd half of the show: second chances! Happiness is in our hands, if it didn't work the first time, we can either stay at home cursing our life (what i do every day), or go out there and try again! Is my thinking unrealistic? Do you hate me right now? Yes, i do that to people :P

To be completely and utterly honest, i have nothing bad to say about the show lol (if there was any shred of compassion, i just lost it, didn't i? xD). The drama is heavily based on the characters, it only goes forward based on the character decisions and actions. There is no backstory, no huge revealings, no plot twists. This is about the characters and how they cope with difficult situations like adultery! I am saying this just so you know what kind of show this is. One can argue that the show is boring, i cannot argue with that. Temptation was one of those shows, that had me constantly at the edge of my chair as i wanted to see what the characters will do next. What will they choose, how will they react to what was thrown at them! You need to be a fan of this kind of thing, not everyone is one, thats why i can describe the drama like, more of an elitist show than an inclusive one. The drama targets a select few that like this genre, and if you are a fan you won't be dissapointed!

I want to mention that one thing that shocked me. It was the honesty of the characters. Honesty, as in, their actions, and everything bad or good that comes with that. Example: I want your man, girl, i really want him, i'll come up straight in your face and say it, i don't even care if you are married! Surely this is wrong, but still wow... Another example: I see you have your ex-wife's wedding ring on the counter, you obviously have feelings for her, so i feel bad and leave. I don't keep it inside because i want to torment the viewers. I go straight up to you and ask you, DO YOU HAVE FEELINGS FOR YOUR EX WIFE?! HELL TO THE YES PEOPLE. Yas, thank you writers, thank you for making the characters real ADULTS for once who know how to adress their misunderstandings!

Oh! One last thing! Usually when i see melodramas, i except some heavy crying. The show is bubbed a melodrama, but i barely cried in the 20 episodes (and i cry waaaaaay too easily). So don't worry about this being a tear-jerker, it is not.

CHARACTERS
The show is character driven, so i will give the characters a special section in this review. Potential spoilers ahead, read at your own discretion. (scrap that, heavy spoilers ahead, skip this part if you haven't watched, i just really need to talk about the characters)

CHA SEOK HOON. He is your average hero. He was great and i loved him. I read some cute comments that he is selfish and values money too much. People apparently didn't watch the full show, or didn't understand or were dead set on hating. Let me start by saying, if you were in debt of 1 million dollars, and a nice lady one day said she'd take you to work for her for 3 days and she will pay off your debt, but you just can't contact your wife while doing so, what would you have done? Say, buh bye bitch, i want to take my jail time, i love jail! Shove your money up your *** and jail ftw! If you have such great values, great, good for you, i am a pitiful person that would take the deal, and start fresh without a debt. I don't think his decision was selfish, *other decisions were selfish by other characters, that really wanted us to pity them*!! He believed his wife will understand and not make a fuss of things. Ok he might had been wrong, of course his wife didn't, and ok this is understandable, and he freaking tried like crazy to make this work. It didn't work obviously, his marriage fell apart, but, do i have to hate him for wanting to move on? Really? No, i cannot hate someone who wants to be happy, he never cheated! He tried to make this work, and it didn't so he moves on! 10/10 He was a great character for me, definately someone to look up to, i found myself saying 'Thats my boy' and 'Thats my man' several times during the show. A staightfroward guy, who sees what he wants, he isn't afraid to fight for it! The only minor problem i had with him, was that in the first half, he obviously doesn't want a divorce but he always finds himself on that other woman's steps. Its not that he wanted an affair, he was forward about that, but he cared for her. I cannot really blame him for caring, i do want to believe his feelings were pure, but it did seem that his marriage was over from his part too, even if he wanted to try. Still he adressed everything right and he was noble.

YOO SE YOUNG. Such a complicated character, and what a character development as well! She starts as the main 'evil' of the show, and ends up as the anti-hero. I never hated her, i mostly tried to understand why she did what she did, but i ended up rooting for her SO much, i was shocked at my self! A very closed-shut down person, that has never been loved, never loved anyone, a workaholic that hates lovey dovey couples. Is that unrealistic? I have met people like that in real life, and i am afraid i am turning into one! What she wanted was to test their seemingly perfect love. Did she have a right to do that? No, but she did. Why she did? Because she was a cord hearted rich bitch! Yeah why not? Why can people accept hot chaebol guys falling for poor girls, but not this? Anyway, what she did was wrong, but i wasn't ready to hate her.To be honest what she really wanted was the other woman's life. She wanted to be loved deep inside. So she did what she did in order to prove to herself that her way of living is the right way... that hateful and resenting way. However she found herself falling in love. Yes she was selfish and evil... Yet, she grows up so much, she opens up, she gets loved and she loves back for the first time in her life, and understands how wrong she was. I rooted for her i loved her, i hope that she is happy right now, and i am not even sorry that i loved her that much! I can understand how rooting for her is wrong somehow, but still i don't regret it.

NA HONG JOO. Probably the most important character in the show. She actually reminded of the main evil guy in Secret. The way she devolves, and then realises what she has become.... I read some very very cute comments about how the writers hated her and how they apparently hated women, lol. Secret will forever be the most shovinistic kdrama, temptation has no shit on secret in that department (yes i want some hate, i reaaaaaly want some hate)! She started as a nice woman, seemingly sefless, ready to die for her husband, but from the starting point, she was so selfish! She decides she can't trust her husband after everything. Yes, of course girl, i am 100% with you. And then she wants a divorce, YAS GIRL, I WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME!!! And then she wants him to sit on his couch, and cry his life away, as she does the same... lol... no! And on top of that, she blames him when he tries to be happy again, and makes her life's goal to destroy him... why? Why do you want to victimize yourself girl? because you cannot accept that he is happy again? Girl, my sweet, sweet, selfish girl! YOU kicked him out! YOU decided your marriage was over, and oh! he fought for you! Now, go your separate ways. Live your life for YOU! The 2nd half of the show made me hate her, while i was rooting for her in the 1st half. She was selfish, she made her bed for what happened in her life, and i couldn't feel bad for her! However, her character felt amazing, she was very emotionally driven, and yet all her actions felt so damn realistic! I loved how even at the end, she decided to grow up, even a little!

KANG MIN WOO. I still haven't figured out if he was an evil or a good person. I guess the answer is somewhere in between. He wasn't either of that, he was just selfish. I mean every character was selfish as people are selfish in real life, but he was exceptionally selfish, the type that makes you wanna vomit, you definately know the type. He was your average cheater, he was so full of himself, so over-confident, it made me wanna puke. He said at some point: 'if i wanted you, i would have made you want me first!'. I mean where do they teach that? Is there a school that teaches that? I really need to enroll there. Or is it something, like a prilivege that only hot rich guys have?! I was so amazed at how he had some moments, where i felt like: 'aw there is hope for him' and then he literally turned them all around, and there was nothing left but hate. He got exactly what he deserved, he wasn't even evil, but believe me between absolute selfishness and evilness, i vote evilness!

As i already said the drama was very character driven, all the decisions and actions made sense, to me at least, i loved all the characters in their own way, with their flaws, even Min Woo, i liked him and hated him with his weird personality! The characters here could have been better, a little more *deep* maybe, but overall the characterization was good.

ACTING
KWON SANG WOO. He was great, he was a great leading man, i loved him, he was emotional, very charming, he has great expressions, especially with his eyes!

CHOI JIN WOO. Whoah! Girl, knows her shit! I loved her, she pulled off the bitchy attidute greatly, and her character development felt very real. She never lost that independency that she had, she just became more humane by the time as she fell in love. She expressed that perfectly. The 2 actors' chemistly is possibly the best i've seen in kdramas thus far. Like WOAH!!

PARK HA SUN. As i already said, her character maybe was the most important, and while she was good, she could have been better. her role could have renevated the drama a lot, and she wasn't good enough, she left most of that part to CJW whose character has to be hated. She was alright, she just felt small, not only in front of the older actors, but in her role overall, she felt small. She definately needs to work on her crying, i felt nothing while she was crying.

LEE JUNG JIN. He was great, and completely on par with KSS's performance, which is commendable, usually 2nd leading males fall short in front of the leading males. He was great, and he made me doubt about whether he was evil or not, a lot, when he would have been easily hated!

RECOMMEND/REWATCH
Would i recommend it? Well, no! Because i cannot accept any more 1.0s lol! :P
In all honesty, however, this is a show to be watched by open minded people (no offence to anyone), and also by people who like character driven shows, to avoid the boring thing i said earlier. If you like watching people handle difficult situations, potentialy love, hate, get angry and bare with the characters, root for them, want them dead ect and don't expect backstories and plot twists, you will most definately enjoy this!
This is definately not a show for everyone, so i wouldn't recommend it easily, no!
Would i rewatch it? Yes, and no. While the first part was slightly slower (it had to be, a marriage doesn't break up in 2 episodes), the 2nd was a roller coaster imo. Still the show was kind of difficult to watch. I wouldn't rewatch it myself alone, but i'd definately rewatch it with someone else, mostly to discuss what happens here!

I'd like to end this, rather long review, by laughing in everyone's, who said that 'This drama is for the home wreckers and the cheaters', face. Lol People, really? Am i a home wrecker now that i liked this drama? Lol, i will definately add this to my resume!
I am not sure who was superficial and shallow in the very end, the show itself, or the people who watched it?!

Ok, now you can rage-dislike this review all you want! Kisses from cheater's hell!

PLEASE NOTE: Certain details related to the overarching theme of this drama are scattered throughout this review. There are no spoilers of important plot developments, however, reader discretion is advised.

THE GOOD

First and foremost it should be noted that this isn't a breezy frolic for romcom lovers looking for kicks and giggles/rainbow and hearts. The drama poses a series of pertinent questions related to love, commitment and marriage. Though certain situations are exaggerated for dramatic effect the drama presents ethical dilemmas people in long term relationships face in some form or another everyday:

Is it fair, reasonable or wise to expect blind devotion from your partner?

When does cheating become cheating? When physical contact occurs or when the heart departs and only the empty shell of the body remains? And regardless of which, is cheating grounds for the parting of ways?

Good food for thought. Exactly my type of gig. Up to about episode 4.

Secondly, the dynamic of the lead characters’ relationship. Let me say this right off the bat: I hated the leads in this drama. I wanted them dead. BUT I did like the dynamic of their relationship. It’s not every day you see a powerful, confident, intelligent female coupled with her equal. In a better drama I would have loved this pairing, as they represented a meeting of mind and heart on equal footing, as opposed to the usual pairing of the naive, country bumpkin and big city slicker or the take charge older career woman and her lap dog noona killer lover.

Finally, acting wise there were no standouts, but no irritating or horribly unconvincing performances either. Pretty average all around, but okay enough for me. I was, however, pleasantly surprised by Lee Jung Jin. I’m used to him in more wholesome, boy next door type roles so it was a pleasure to watch him as the debonair playboy who was more naughty than bad. He had just enough good in him to make me not completely hate him. I bought it.

THE BAD

The drama blights its own potential, given the mature, thought provoking subject matter, with cheap, superficial, self-congratulatory, crass plot developments. Poorly written and poorly realized almost from start to finish. A drama or movie doesn't start on the screen, but on the page. If what's on the page is bad from the get-go, no amount of good direction and acting can save it (in the vast majority of cases). This being one of them. The first 4 episodes did their job of getting you interested and engaged, but subsequent developments disappointed with one impulsive, puerile action after another. Not to mention characters who seemed impervious to any logical behaviour expected of normal human beings. Here are a few general examples:

*You hire your rival’s most trusted and loyal servant, tell that person all your secrets and are then surprised and angered when the servant betrays you. #smfh

*You’re under investigation for a crime where you stand to lose EVERYTHING, but instead of hauling ass out of there, you offer up evidence that could ruin your life as prize for a fist fight. WTF?? Nobody with half a brain does that!

*Just keep on throwing people together in parks and cafes for a nice ol’ chat, without thought or plausible motive as to WHY these people should even be talking to each other. Let’s create drama at any cost because my viewers are dumb morons who won’t notice this sh--.

And those are *only* the minor ones. It was simply just one absurdity after another.

Supporting characters were nothing more than vapid, 1-dimensional talking heads, transplanted only to encourage sympathy for the insipid. None had depth. In fact, pretty much everyone displayed some sort of split personality disorder every 5 minutes ... to the point where I'm convinced the writer must have been tripping on some serious high grade herb as he penned this sorry drama!

If I had any affinity towards anyone that would be Han Soo, the mumbling, bumbling wannabe paparazzi. An insignificant character with no story arc of his own who should not have garnered my sympathies more than the leads! I also supported the wife. I don’t understand what HJ bashers saw that I didn’t. Even if she did everything people accuse her off, is it so wrong of her to be hurt and angry in the grand scheme of things? People are acting like only the Hong Kong incident is at play here when there’s far more to it than that. Is what she said/did in a moment of great crisis so much more worse than what transpired later on in Korea, after the Hong Kong trip? While I don’t condone all of her behaviour, I certainly understood what motivated her. Besides, she ultimately showed herself to be the only character of true character in this sordid tale of treachery and deceit dressed up as ‘true love’. Lipstick on a pig, as another reviewer puts it. A very apt description indeed. SHE was the only true heroine as far as I could see.

THE UGLY

I am still trying to fathom what exactly is the writer’s proposal here. Is it:

a) a bad joke to get viewers all worked up?

b) a nod to narcissistic weasel pricks and conniving home wreckers? or

c) an attempt at a balanced discourse on a complicated topic?

If the answer is a) then I didn’t get the joke. Sorry.

If the answer is b) this drama is a resounding success! Home wreckers and cheats everywhere should see this NOW! Somebody finally showed how shitty some of you people are … BUT not to worry you still get the ‘prize’! And a ‘good job, good job’ pat on the back to boot. Now ain’t that the shi..zzle!

However, if the answer is c) this would be the most vile, ludicrous piece of chauvinistic drivel I have ever witnessed. Here is a drama which basically dumps on women:

*Your husband is entitled to have you put up with all his sh*t, no matter how stink it gets. Continue to blindly trust him in everything he does even if his actions don’t match his words. Just delude yourself with the lies that come out of his mouth and be quiet, woman!

*Cheating is a man’s privilege. His right, even. Don’t make a big deal out of it, no matter what, as you’ll only end up hurting yourself. Just put up with it, uh, Yeobo? Endure. Taaaaaaaaaa kwænchana! (Everything alright, for those of you who need to brush up on your Korean :-).

*All my single ‘ladies’, it’s ACE to covet another woman’s husband! You go get him, girl! Even if you have to buy his ass. And slap a bitch.

*Brethrens, never give up on an opportunity to trade up, ya dig? Love? Loyalty? Conscience? Screw that. None of that gets you the good life. Or a fast track ticket to the big times. There’s no dishonour in being a kept man.

*But trust, only women pay the price for home wrecking. Us bros get off scott free because … well. It’s a man’s world. Haha. Sorry, ladies.

It’s insidious. If c) is the writer's proposal, then I utterly repudiate it. This is no epic romance about love conquering all. This is very sordid business, set in motion by a conniving serpent and a lying, opportunistic loser pig.

And just so we’re clear: I know it’s possible for people to fall out of love (one of my all time favourite dramas dealt with this very theme with an entirely different effect). I know good people sometimes do bad things. I know life is messy and doesn't always allow for things to be wrapped up nicely and neatly with a big red bow. I didn’t go into this drama expecting sweet, uncomplicated love. I was prepared to keep an open mind and forgive where necessary. Unfortunately the writer led the donkey into a ditch. I couldn’t find it in me to sympathize with characters who acted with such haughty and callous disregard for other people. At least show a little contrition that doesn’t come off woefully lacking, phoney and insincere. Show a little reverence for the years someone dedicated their life to you by being honest with that person at the very least. But, they were pompous, condescending arses to the very end. I seriously wanted to vomit.

I won’t close with a recommendation of whether you should watch this or not. See it for yourself and make your own determination as there are certainly those for whom this drama was a hit. I am just not one of them. Temptation is the worst adaptation of the ‘indecent proposal’ concept I’ve ever seen. It didn’t work. It left the mother of all bad tastes in my mouth. I couldn’t get away from these characters fast enough. I hated them. I wanted them dead. And I’m blacklisting the actors until I purge myself of this truly repulsive experience.

I expected a drama that would take on a serious subject and truly develop the story and characters alone the way. I expected there to be a lesson for those of us watching and could take to heart. I left this drama feeling very dishearten and disappointed. Instead of being called Temptation, it should have been called Sandcastles.

I was disappointed that the writer introduced subject matters but never discussed or addressed them. The story was very disjointed and the characters did a 180 degree turn in personalities. I personally ended this drama hating the leads with the exception of the wife. The writer stated this was not a reunion for Stairway to Heaven, but I have to strongly disagree.

This drama is truly a case of putting lipstick on a pig. Some will find it cute, I found it very ugly and disturbing because it was missing a moral core. There was no one to say, "this is wrong". It was the worse drama for me out of the 7 or 8 hundred I've seen.

In all my years of watching Korean dramas, This is the "WORSE" drama I have ever seen!! What a cold, cruel, and destructive drama toward the sanctity of marriage! How did MBC and those who were in charge allow such an offensive and disastrous drama as Temptaion escape out of Korea?! I will never again watch anything with the names choi ji woo and kwon sang woo attached to it! Both their names will only remind me of how bad and ugly this sunami called Temptaion really was. If this is what the writer (han ji hoon) calls real Love between two arrogant cruel adulterers, then the writer is very confused and does not know what love is. I can't believe how the writer made the devastated abandoned wife the villain and making the greedy scumbag husband and his rich whore the innocent couple that the writer tried convincing everyone to feel sorry for. THIS IS NOT LOVE JI HOON!! Romance? There was none! Does the writer, director (park young soo), and producer(s) hate to see two people who are so happily married that they found it necessary to viciously destroy the faithful wife who really loved her husband? This was not good drama--This was a sinking titanic! This writer was part of a team who wrote Dr. Jin which was also disconnected. Couldn't finish that one either. I will have to be careful of the script writer and not allow myself to be punished by watching "HEARTLESS JUNK" like Temptation ever again--especially if Han ji hoon is listed as the writer. I quit watching at ep 7. I just couldn't take it anymore! I wished I'd been able to give Temptaion a "0" rating.

This drama is a poorly done version of the 'Indecent Proposal' concept. It started off interesting, but quickly turned into a...two-month long...victim-filled...train wreck. Since the plot is based on blurring the lines of a loving marriage, a delicate approach is needed so the viewers are not repulsed as the story progresses. And unfortunately, that did not happen. Instead, the quietly sadistic and destructive nature of Yoo Se Young becomes even more infuriating, when an abrupt shift in the plot takes place to focus on her as a victim. I had high hopes for this drama, but it ended up being one disappointment after another.

I don't want to comment on the acting because of how this drama was written and directed. I would like to see them all in better dramas that would showcase their acting skills more. The OST had some really great songs that are purchase worthy.

Actually that was the worst drama i have ever seen: not because of casting which was very well or not because of the music or all the other elements (which i confess were all great), but because of the story and its ending ....i did not like the lead romance in it , i just could not understand how a happily married man can throw away all his married life and just because of 3-4 days and a 3 hour - trip, fall in love with a woman who just humiliated him both in 10 years ago and the time being (with such a shameful proposal!!!!!) ..... it seems that from the first Cha Seok Hoon didnot love his wife as much as he claimed and he was ready to fall in love with all the other woman he might meet in future, so Na Hong Joo was so right in not trusting him any more ...
to be honest , the Cha Seok Hoon's characteristic and behavior made me frustrated and disgusted very much , and i wonder if it is so easy for a married life to be ignored and ruined so easily????
it was so shock able and unbelievable that i couldnot believe his love towards Yoo Se Young at fist , it was really really unbelievable ... i wish with all the good memory we had with unforgettable roles of Kwon Sang Woo he did not play as Cha Seok Hoon....

though it is easy to understand Yoo Se Young's love .... she is nearly 40, and very alone and sick , so it is normal for such a woman to be envious when she sees the love between Na Hong Joo and Cha Seok Hoon, and decides to steel that love....i did not like Yoo Se Young's character as well: maybe it seems that she is a successful, beautiful and a very rich lady but all are just in appearance : with all her money and nobility, she not only stole the Na Hong Joo's husband but also her shoes !!!!

the melodram tastes so bitter that i am still sick of it ....

not for everyone (major spoilers)

I like it, but it's not for everyone. i read some reviews. Most of those who watched "Temptation" have similar opinions about the Female CEO and Cha Seok Hoon. They think she's a evil bitch and he's an unfaithful asshole. I just don't see it that way. I have read many comments of sympathy for Na Hong Joo. I understand that some of those who have suffered similar pain for having a cheating husband in the past may think that Cha Seok Hoon is an asshole, but I don't think that's true. It was Na Hong Joo who started all this in the first place. At first she tried to commit suicide because they would lose their home due to the lack of that money. Then her husband had to accept the offer that the CEO made to him. Even if nothing happened when he was in Hong Kong with the CEO, he still said he was sorry. He tried to mend their relationship, but she turned away from him and continued to blame him. He kept saying that nothing had happened and that he would do everything he could to get through this crisis with their marriage. On the day they finally decided to divorce, Cha Seok Hoon quit his job and bought rings for himself and Na Hong Joo. But she was too determined to break up. She never tried to fix their marriage problems. She kept choosing the easy way out. First, an attempted suicide, and then a divorce from her husband with the first problem they had. When they divorced, she tried very hard to get revenge on her husband and the CEO, but she did not even try to fix her marriage with Cha Seok Hoon when not a single disloyal act occurred. In this show, Na Hong Joo looks like an innocent victim to some people, but she's not. She started all this, but she didn't do anything to fix it. Then she tried to avenge something that would eventually happen because of her.

Now we've finally come to the part where we're talking about the female CEO (Yoo Se Young).

When she made the first offer, we all thought that it would be something unpleasant for a married man, but she just wanted him to work with her because she didn't want to work alone. They were in Hong Kong for 3 days and in fact nothing happened. They just went to business meetings. Even if she said that she was testing his marriage, she was probably lonely and bored. She even once told him that he needed to try harder to fix his marriage.

After Cha Seok Hoon and Na Hong Joo divorced, no one could interfere with what should happen to their private lives. Na Hong Joo's quest for revenge is ridiculous because she is the reason for everything that happened. Because she kept taking the easy way out. Cha Seok Hoon tried very hard to fix his marriage. Soon after the divorce, he realized that no one should tell him what to do anymore, and he decided to keep his job a little longer. Neither Cha Seok Hoon or Yoo Se Young did anything before he was divorced with Na Hong Joo.

and please don't even make me start on that narcissistic jerk who treats women like objects and has no respect for people in general. I can't stand him at all. I am talking about CEO Kang. He was terrible to his wife and other women but Na Hong Joo (who has treated her husband like an asshole even though nothing happened) married him even though she knew he was unfaithful man to every single woman who has been with him. This shows us Na Hong Joo was never an innocent victim. Even she looks like one and anyone who can't see that is either had a cheating husband/boyfriend and can't look at this situation objective or they've just created something in their head and only sees the things they want to.

This drama was very difficult to watch simply because the story is so dull and characters are so spiteful. It became a chore for me to watch until I couldn't take anymore and decided to dropped the series at episode 13.
Granted the producers were targeting an older more mature audience (late twenties into thirties) and I don't fall into that category just yet, it still doesn't excuse the fact that the story had no backbone or any redeeming qualities and that it was one of those dramas where you think to yourself "that wouldn't happen in real life" in every single episode.
The characters are all over the place most (if not all) of them are people whom I would never want to be associated with if they were real. Like I said earlier 90% of them are spiteful and the last 10% are so cringeworthy that on multiple occasions I felt like punching my computer screen.
This drama is so awful you have to watch it for yourself to understand just what a piece of garbage it is. I am amazed I was able to make it to episode 13 because after episode 2 it is a downhill spiral of boring delusional slop!

This drama started off perfect. Great cast. I kept waiting for justice but it never came the way I wanted it to. Overall, I couldn't drop this one which means in my book it's solid which is why I gave it an 8. However, if you are waiting for it to get better between a certain couple, drop it now. :(

Temptation. A story of 4 people. We have two women and two men of vastly different states of wealth. Now we see them basically staying within their own groups. The two chaebols stay in each others reach for company related sabotage and the like. The mid tier couple are happy and satisfied being together.

Due to events and choices we get to see things fall apart and begin anew. One female goes from cold hearted to warm hearted whereas the other goes from a normal woman to doubting to grieving to angry to evil. I found the relationships to progress at a very decent pace. Although it was basically about affairs, it was done in a way that I was not upset at watching.
This drama was mainly about how the characters grow and people change.

I found the line distribution and acting to be fantastic, very nice subtle tones of voice to go along perfectly with their musical choices for the OST. I appreciate voices and how they allow their lines to come to life. It was done in a very stable, quiet but emotional way.

I am writing this review as I'm rewatching it so I would say its rewatchable.

This type of plot isn't for everyone, some people will just see it as a homewrecker wrecking a relationship, I don't fully see it that way. I see it as a woman who saw someone in a dire situation and chose to give them a choice. They made things happen by their own choices. Also the karma that this show deals out is pretty crazy as well.
