This Fukushi Sota movie is labeled a bromance but let me tell you, the B in this bromance is very, very, VERY silent. Probably the most silent B in the existence of bromance. It's a truly beautiful but also a very difficult movie to watch. It deals with themes like power harassment, suicide and depression. Takashi's (Kudo Asuka) road to peace and healing is long and ugly, luckily he has Yamamoto (Fukushi Sota) by his side every time he needs a shoulder to lean on. And it's just so wonderful!
Most of the movie is told from Takashi's POV, it's not until the end that Takashi delves into Yamamoto's life and the terrible tragedy that Yamamoto had to live with is revealed. The scene where Takashi goes digging into Yamamoto's life and finds out the truth is so, so beautiful because we finally get to see Yamamoto's POV, at least a little.
And the ending is just... fairy tale like. It's the happiest of endings, it truly is.

Hopeful
This is perhaps one of the best Japanese movie I’ve seen. At first I was just looking for a Japanese BL due to most recent released of JBLs when suddenly clicked on this and tried to look for reviews and the rest is history. lolI was really impressed by the storyline, at first I was thinking if Jun Yamamoto is really a ghost. Hahahaha But things turned out at the end, it was he’s twin brother. Huhuhu
I also love how the leads portrayed their character, I just love the chemistry despite that this is not a BL that I am looking for.
I cried, yes I cried at middle of the story maybe because this is soo touching and heartwarming. This is not about friendship. I have learned to value your family, people around you and most especially, loving yourself.
Over all, this is a must and worth to watch/rewatch.
Thanks for giving us such a masterpiece, indeed!

your life is always worth living
If you're having hardships at work, at school, or at anywhere and struggling to keep yourself alive, please watch this movie. It definitely will be worth watching, I promise. It will open a door for you to see where you're standing and what for.
I always like to watch movies that touch on depression, suicide, etc., since mental health issue is becoming a common issue in our age and getting scary day by day. This movie is one of the best that portrayed these issues very well, in my opinion. It awakes your deep thoughts in you in a good way and makes you feel like a drunk person questioning your life. ^^
Story: It was almost perfect only with minor issues.
Acting/cast: Actors did a great job, all fit their roles.
Music: It was good for a movie. I liked the closure song the most.
I've just finished watching the movie and am still feeling dizzy, having a headache full of thoughts. I was not expecting to see this quite strong message behind the movie, that's why it hit me hard. So, please be prepared to be hit by this movie.
If there is hope, life is always worth living.
Please go and give a watch to this masterpiece.

It's Very Depressing But That's Not Necessarily A Bad Thing
It’s very depressing and it never lets up. Even the small moments of fun/bonding between the two main characters does not lift the tone. This is ok if you are not put off by heavy, sad and depressing topics that don’t sugar-coat things. Me saying that it’s depressing isn't necessarily a bad thing. A lot of satisfaction can be gotten from watching a character go through hardship after hardship and come out on the other side. For me, I don’t regret watching it. I did find some satisfaction, narratively. It was an interesting enough story and the acting was decent. It also had a good message and it didn’t feel like suicide propaganda. In fact, it felt sincere in its message. The last 30 or so minutes at the end of the film are it’s best. You’ll see why.And for once, they referenced a country with darker skinned people without being derogatory. I particularly liked that the Yun character didn’t look to go there to satisfy some sort of saviour complex or to ‘civilise’ the population. Instead, he went there to be with them. To be with the people who reminded him of himself. He also had lovely things to say about the community there. He didn’t patronise their sense of care and community towards raising the orphan children. Rather, it sounded like he was talking about people he held in high esteem. Listen up Asian film makers…this is how it’s done. This is how you include other non-western countries without being a-holes about it.

A soulful journey to life as a working adult
I saw an FMV to this movie and got intrigued so I came with a vague idea on what is about, Aoyama's workplace is hell and I guess it reflects heavily on work yourself to the bone culture in Japan, but the story and the pacing were perfect, Aoyama's despair and feelings were tangible and real especially that I have been in a similar setting myself not long ago. Suicide wouldn't be too far-off to anyone who feels like there is no escape, lucky for Takeshi that Yamamoto saw that desperation in him and decided he needs to change it, making him reflect back on what matters. Creating hope if you haven't found it is the base moral of the story, extending a helping hand and be kind you never know how you might change their lives. A really solid story with a good ending. To anyone who is struggling as a working adult you do you, even if you had to quit a toxic place, it is never the end.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Wonderful movie!
STORY: In a world where the competition rules, working hard and a lot is the only way to be successful. But sometimes (or, to be more correct, many times) this way of working (and if there is also a violent boss) it can be too much. Then, the exhaustion leads the life and the only option is suicide. To end all. The movie is about Aoyoma who finds himself in this situation. He is helped by Yamamoto. And from that moment the story starts. It is a fantastic beautiful story about healing their souls, one for each other, finding the motivation to move forward and finding the happiness. The end made me cry. I was so emotional…..Narushima Izuro, the one who wrote the script, did an excellent job! The dialogues were perfect. Even the silence was perfect!
ACTING: Everybody did an excellent job! EVERYBODY! Mai actors, support actors – all!
Every scene was very well played. I laughed a lot! I cried! I felt so much due to their acting. Was pure and simple wonderful. A good script can save the actor. Here, both were very good. I can’t ask anything more!
MUSIC:: It was good for this kind of movie. But what is still in my mind is the song from the end. Perfect song! I love it!
RE-WATCH VALUE/ OVERALL: It was a fantastic movie, it moved my heart. The plot was consistent, well written and spoken and how they manage to save each other, how they manage to repair their souls and move further was overwhelming. I will let some time to pass and then I will watch it again and I am sure I will like it again!
