Lacking Something
I know they were not able to add kissing and more. I understand but there is nothing more than brother friend feeling to the story. I personally thought the acting was good. There are three “couples” and they might or might not be in love. There are hints to say they might be in love but for instance the main lead’s sister never says I think they hang out together because they care for each other. would this be too much? I am not sure. I do think that China let them make a bromance story is probably a lot for them. There is still some kind of emotional attachment missing. The two main leads have a connection but it is not on a deep level. The side characters are way too comedic and the ending is too. I have watched stories where the leads never kiss and they have slight comedy but still the story gives a bit of room for emotions without the sudden comedic moment. The flow is off when the comedy overwhelms the emotion. This all may be due to the restrictions imposed. so this is worth a watch but not a multiple time watch. We will have to wait for these kinds of countries to grow up a bit. Seems childish to be so much against this when the world has big issues and problems.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
a nice picture puzzle w/missing pieces
If I am correct, this might be before Go Jun completed Word of Honor. His Censorship. portrayed the character well. Theentire cast, from lead to support did an excellent job. Production might be lacking a little in wardrobe; viewers can actually tell which scenes were filmed at the same day due to wardrobes. Props integration need a Lil work (mannequin in the well).
I feel it could have been directed better because the sequencing seems off a couple of times although it didn't really ruin the story.
Last but not least, I read that there was originally an uncut version of this series that made it more fulfilling to watch. Sadly, that may be buried since this was released 6 years ago. For a Chinese bromance series, don't expect what you normally see in a typical Korean, Japanese and Thai BL works. The closest this will get is a brotherhood relationship that hints that there could be more but then suddenly a scene or line is inserted that would tell pull you back that it's nothing more. There was a scene where the second leading man while in bed with Go Jun told Go Jun he isn't only being nice to him because of his sister and that will tell him in the future. the entire series ended without any scene revealing that reason.
I recommend this to any Go Jun followers because this shows his early talent that can be compared to his recent ones.
Kudos to the producer for bravely producing this series and doing their best to meet the strict censorship.

Left Unsatisfied...
To be frank, I watched this via Youtube earlier this year; ergo my review will encompass the things that I still remember to this date. It's not as fresh. ^_^ Probably a good thing because I was so irritated. LOL. I had been searching for a good contemporary BL to watch and...this was not it. Sadly. It did have potential though.Things I liked:
- Simon Gong did his part well. And the other lead as well. I liked the moments between them.
Things I disliked:
- The girl, Yuan Zong's sister who had a crush on Xia Yao, was annoying.
-The ending is atrocious with an anime style graphic that comes out of nowhere and has nothing to do with the issues at hand in the story. It ends abruptly and the story feels unfinished.
- Heavily censored. Some scenes cut off abruptly and the story would pick up somewhere completely different. All those sweet scenes between the leads that I liked so much got cut off before they ever fully finish the moments. Irritating. And it was super obvious.
Overall, it wasn't perfect, but I had been into it, and willing to put up with the heavy censoring hand, but that ending was just the epitome of stupid. What kind of sadist ends a story like that?!

Eyes or mouth???
I am currently watching WoH and while waiting for the sub, I went to the ML's profile to check their recent and previous work. I saw this in GJ's list and..hmmm... okay probably I'll check a few episodes and see if it's my cup of tea or not.Guess what? LMAOOOOO!!! I dont know which to cover first, my eyes or my mouth!
Story- This is just my fourth bromance/BL drama, The Untamed was the first one then followed by Winter Begonia and currently watching W0H, and oh boy this was unbelievable. I can't imagine if this kind of act was used with WoH, probably people will go crazy! I love how the ML's aren't afraid to show how they care and love each other, the skinships there and everything (no kiss, but who cares?!?!?). You can actually feel their chemistry and it's sizzling hot! Imagine both guys are gorgeous and half naked in bed? opppppssss!!! lol The story line aren't new, but the story flows smoothly, a little silly, yes. But then again we're here to enjoy the show, nothing else.
Acting/cast- Aside from the main leads, some of the supporting characters act mediocre, but some did a good job. You will know when you watch this. I've only seen GJ's drama and I have no idea about the other ML, but he's really good.
Music- I like it, it's catchy especially the intro part.
Rewatch value- Heck yes!!!!! It's hard to find chinese BL these days. ha!
Overall: Don't expect intelligent writing, if you're just here to enjoy and pass time while waiting for your drama to air, this one is really good. Very short episodes and a lot of skinship. Have fun!!!!

It was sort of incomplete for me.
Talking about the story it was a good plot. About the cast they were also amazing . Characters in the series were also nice. For me at some extent some scenes need more attention or attentive display . At some scenes i was like starting and suddenly the scenes disappears but overall it was a good plot , not something like common bl dramas it has different story with different way of showing its characters. Talking about the music i don't know the language so ... From start it was nice but talking about the ending i thought that they just wanted to end it like anyhow. Better than I expected
I came into this fresh from watching Addicted. Considering how that show went, I didn't have high hopes for this one but I was actually pleasantly surprised. American shows don't show many gay storylines, so I'm used to reading subtext and filling in the blanks when it comes to characters that I believe would be a couple if they just had different writers. So watching this really wasn't much of a different experience from what I usually watch anyway. It was very apparent to me that Xia Xao and Yuan Zong were a couple pretty early on. It's easy to tell which moments were leading to something we weren't going to see on camera. I was able to find a translated version of the book, and though I haven't finished it yet, it seems like everything matches up pretty nicely minus the intimate scenes the show cut out.I found this to be quite enjoyable for what is was. I knew going into this that it was mostly an implied relationship, and it was implied much heavier than I was expecting it to be, so I'm counting this as a win.

Here's my review though I never felt of writing one but this series and IT'S reviews made me to do it...first of all the leads were extraordinary charms not only about their looks but the way they carried their characters and emotions throughout the show makes it worth watching...their chemistry was off the charts..we can really feel through screen that they clearly enjoys eachother company...And the most loving thing was how the series was so lovable with light hearted storyline.. some action and the charms of every character
And obvious crushes of mainlead on eachother...I don't know why IT'S so underrated oh god I loved it throuh beginning to the end...I accept it doesn't have accurate and appealing ending as it abruptly ended but any sane person can decode the ending looks of mainlead....
The whole series shown the bl aspect such a nicely and we can enjoy it as an actual bl though it doesn't have any intimate scenes but bruh not every beautiful bl series need those scenes for it's validation to be a perfect bl story..
It's clearly potrays that both mainleads slowly developed a huge soft place for eachother in their hearts..their willingness to do whatever to please other..caring..loving and over all efforts to show the importance of eachother in their lives...those gestures and gazes are enough to erupt butterflies...
There were enough cues that they had liking fo r eachother...and they were pretty obvious blind people can also feel their jealousy?and efforts they put to be the perfect and only one for eachother
As a conclusion I wold like to say that I only completed it today..yesterday I started it and their chemistry made me complete it in a one go...and I will definitely rewatch it..

The tl;dr review for the lazy watcher
As someone that cannot watch most BL drama (esp. Thai and korean) because of bad acting and general cringyness let me tell you what about this censored romance was good and what wasn't imho.+ the main couple's chemistry
Jason Xu was the embodyment of tall dark and handsome, seemingly at peace with his feelings while his counterpart Simon Gong was the spoiled goofy type in denial. Which brings me to:
- Gong's character was at times annoying af and my second hand embarrasment was strong. Was it the script? Was is overacting/ bad acting? We'll never know...
- the sister. Oh this sister. Why did they have to write her almost like a bimbo thorn in the MC's side. Why? Typical women bashing in BL once again.
+ the plot was easy to follow but not very intruiging, they could've skipped the bf's side plot with the thief imho. It was just slowing down the story for me. The only problem I had was: Xu's character seemed like a down to earth, calm and collected grown up and Gong's character just doesn't fit in there, behaving like a kid most times. Unplausible but probably so in the novel. Just a very unpleasant character...
+ overall production quality seemed good
- the music was nothing to write home about
+/- a lot of shirtlessness going on. A plus if it's Xu, very weird if it's 2 random dudes on a bed...

I bet this would be an AMAZING LGBTQ show! I hate bromance shows because they make me sad as the "couple" don't end up together. however this one left me happy and satisfied. Of course I was sad we didn't see them as a couple. But from the way they look at each other to their interactions. perfection. Would re-watch 89327573354675871 times.I hate the sister tbh, she's very extra. The way she "kidnaps" him to "fix" his "ejaculation problems" is so annoying.
It's obvious they're in love. I hope china's government gets rid of it's insane homophobic shit. So many beautiful shows get ruined cause of this.

Cute BL drama but overall terrible
Story is not great, more like really terrible. The chinese ban doesn´t help it as well so be ready for dialogues like "we are both men, we can´t be in love" while both guys spend nights together naked cuddling in one bed. Also including time jumps, out of the blue story develepment (that will leave you wondering if you missed an episode and wtf happend), long long stares, angry silent treatment, over the top fights and action scenes that will make you cringe soooo hard.The two main leads were both cute together, I liked their chemistry but not always how they behaved.
For those who watched world of honnor, look for "easter eggs" in the first few episode :D

There are no kissing scenes
If you are a bl lover and you like watching the main casts kissing you won't see something like this in this drama, but the story was cute and interesting. All the boys are very cute and they act so well whilst some of them are still young. I think it was the first drama i saw where there was no straight couple. I really don't regret watching it, but its one of those dramas i won't watch again.
