The two main leads did a nice job with their acting. And the kissing scenes were really nice. The rest of the cast did a fair job, but their characters weren't very well developed for the most part.
Music was nice, serviceable.
I won't be rewatching this show as it didn't impress me in any way. In short, the re-write only made the characters more palatable, but screwed up the story. Either way, this one didn't live up to its potential.

Almost not bad
It begins badly, then goes better, at some point it is between good and really good. Then it’s a fall in to the deepest worst of kdrama. If you make it until ep 14 just stop there. The last two episodes are just useless.I hated FL: her character but also her acting. FL and ML are a good example of mediocre to bad chemistry. Which is a problem, because the show mostly revolve around them. They have some sparklingly moments but just look for them in YouTube, don’t lose your time with this whole drama. The supporting cast is good, but not enough to save the show. Maybe with a different FL it would be different… but…. Nah. The story is just over the top. It’s too dramatic and too superficial together.

The 2nd ML (character) is a DISGUSTING WORM
Kang U-IL character is so disgusting. Someone sink this punchable worm like the Titanic. He should have had so many sexual harassment complaints filed against him. STOP TOUCHING YOUR EMPLOYEES INAPPROPRIATELY!By ep. 7, the writers/director are trying to make the viewers pity this creep. I was previously on the fence as to whether he was truly bad or just came off that way, but he has since then put the nail in his coffin already.
He's sitting here with sad music playing, crying over 2 drawings. Drawing #1: A drawing given to him by a lady he ruined the life of (He said she came onto him, of all disgusting things, and on top of that, when she killed herself, he only cared about how it would affect his image. This episode was nail in coffin). Drawing #2: A drawing made by the dead lady's younger sister, who he is currently hitting on (she doesn't know he's involved so has a crush on him - gag). Eugh! Eugh!
The previews then show ML and Wormy actively competing for the FL. Save me.
By the end of the final episode, the writers/director, whoever, tried to do a 180 on him. ML basically begs him to come back to work and even tries to leave him the company. Like, seriously?! And then, they're like, "It's okay! Root for him and his relationship - that should no longer be b/c he's a slimy cheater who used his position of power to sexually intimidate employees!" I felt like I was being brainwashed. Stop trying to make us forget all the horrible things he's done!
It'd be one thing if the writers/directors portrayed the SA as a bad thing & him as a bad character, but they don't. And that's my issue. They just attempt to gloss over every bad thing he's done like it never happened, like he doesn't sexually harass his female employees. Like he's not partially responsible for that one girl's death. All because he's the ML's best friend & dates the ML's sister.
TLDR: They keep trying to make you like him. By the last episode, they act like nothing bad he did ever happened and want you to go "aww" and root for his rebuilt friendship and new relationship. Everybody is laughing and playing together but despite the writers/director's efforts, they could not brain wash me into forgetting what he had done in episodes prior.
Music was cute/decent. Main couple was decently cute.
Also, the ML is NOT shy. He has a social phobia & severe social anxiety. Enjoyed ML character.

The main female character was most annoying thing i have seen in a movie for the last 3 years.
The topics that are unusual for dramas, appear in this one. Self-harming, social phobia, suicide, trans-sexuality and est are heavy and difficult to present. By my opinion the way they are shown in Introvert Boss was a little weak.
There were some really cute and funny moments, so i recommend it i if you want to loose some time and laugh.

This show was fighting to find its direction
I re-watched this show for two reasons. I hadn't written a review previously, and I was hoping that upon second glance it would improve for me. Sadly that did not happen. This drama, for me, struggled to find a genre home - is it a rom-com? A drama? Slapstick? A Mystery? Since it didn't know what it wanted to be, I was having a hard time enjoying it. I certainly didn't feel it was a waste of time, by any means, but my enjoyment fell into "middle of the road" territory. What I liked:
1) The kisses. The two main characters know how a kiss should look! And the kiss in the shower...my oh my.
2) The male lead. I love the way he was portrayed and I could relate to his struggles and feel empathy for him. There was definite growth in him as the show progressed.
3) The Silent Monster employees - quirky and funny, they also grew throughout the show, though at times it did seem forced, like the writers realized they were in episode and the characters were supposed to be acting a certain way.
4) Sweetness. There were quite a few really sweet scenes - the times the employees spent with the orphans, the male lead going to the barber shop all the time, the male lead dropping off plants at her house, and the ending scene was cute as well.
What I didn't particularly like:
1) Male lead's sister - get into some counseling, that's all I'll say.
2) Music - 3 songs repeated over and over, telling us when to feel what emotion.
3) "This is why we can't be together" - this was repeated so many times, each time a part of the mystery was revealed. Just when I thought that the issue had been resolved, they'd say that and then another part of the mystery was revealed. The mystery overall kind of bothered me. I felt like the plot was full of red herrings, and it was frustrating because it put a roadblock to the romance.
4) The makeup - this REALLY bothered me in this show! The skin tones for the two main leads seemed to change quite often, and in one kissing scene in particular, their coloring was so different that's all I could focus on. The lipstick was pronounced and obvious for the female lead, and for the other females, they failed to use lipstick on their whole lips...they just didn't paint the top part of their lips. Were they trying to make their lips look smaller? It was so strange, because their lip outline was so obvious! The two fathers - their makeup made them look like corpses - very white, pasty, shiny and plastic looking.
I felt that it was an okay show to watch if you are interested in a workplace romance, but I've seen it done better.

As mentioned, I had to drop this drama because of the girl. Get this, the girl has no respect to one's privacy and or to one's opinion. She was also very pushy and over-all over the top. Not sure if it's the actress's fault for not expressing or acting her character well or what but she or her character was a mess. Hate to say this but, the girl lead ruined a perfectly good drama for me.

Story: There is nothing startlingly new about this series. Rich, damaged guy, poor girl. Where I have a very big problem is with the portrayal of introversion being shown as what is really social anxiety disorder/social phobia. Introverts MAY have characteristics of shyness or lack of ease in public speaking or commit social solecisms. But if all of those things, plus hiding under clothing, are significantly ramped up, you do not have a personality type, you have a chronic mental health condition which requires skilled therapy and occasionally medication.Additionally, the worst possible companion for any introvert, let alone someone with social phobia, is someone who is going to "fix" them by talking nonstop and pushing them to do things without any consideration for that person whatsoever. That would be torture to the introvert; it will not fix them, it will push them away.
This combination negates the likelihood of any of the story being realistic, which was a real bummer.
Acting: The male lead managed to maintain some dignity and believability despite the huge flaws in how the character was interpreted by the writer/director. The female lead was a yapping chihuahua in a human suit -- a nervous, over-caffeinated, deeply insecure chihuahua, convinced that everyone finds her drunk drooling adorable. It was tedious just listening to the constant flow of drivel pouring out of her mouth. Second male lead was effective and seemed well-fleshed out.
Cast: There are some good veteran actors whom I have enjoyed in other shows - comic actors and dramatic ones as well. And filler stereotypes.
Music: It didn't bother me or impress me so, that evens it out.
Rewatch value: Don't bother.
Overall: I was disappointed from start to finish with the flawed premise and treatment thereof.

I was so hype for this drama. I'd just finished Age of Youth and was on a Hye Soo high. I loved, loved, loved the story idea. Shy, insecure characters are super relatable to me, and I love Love stories where the love interest builds up the shy, insecure character and helps them gain newfound confidence.I wanted this to be good.
I was very disappointed by what it turned out to be.
Like most everyone else who watched this drama, Hye Soo's character went a bridge too far for me. The first two episodes were fun and light hearted, and while the female lead was very over the top, I still enjoyed her as a character. Her antics were a little ham but still understandable and relatable. In eps 3 and 4, her character took a real nosedive, and her personality went from initially over the top but fun to downright exacerbating. Her behavior resembled an Elementary school playground fight. It wasn't cute or funny anymore.
The writers realized, after eps 3 and 4, that the audience was Very disgruntled with the character, and they did what they could to tone her down and make her less annoying. And I think the changes worked. But I never regained the enthusiasm for the drama I had initially and ended up dropping it not far from the end.
I won't recommend this drama, but I won't tell you not to watch it either, because the missteps might not keep you from enjoying it like they did me. But go in aware.

Unique Premise that Unevenly Blossoms into Confusion
I enjoyed watching this show but it clearly had no idea what it wanted to do. It started off with a bang, trying a unique premise of having a male lead with a veritable social phobia and dealing with suicide right off the bat. At first, the male lead was almost totally incapable of any human communication and the female lead was extremely meddlesome, to the point that I read that some viewers were put off by her inability to respect boundaries. However, by episode 5, the production tried to correct course due to falling ratings: they took a week off for the writers to completely rewrite episodes 5 and 6. Unfortunately, to me, the end result was even more confusing: they preserved the storylines they had already set up (the suicide and the "introverted" boss) and just introduced inconsistencies to try to make it a more traditional Kdrama -- suddenly, the male lead acted like a completely normal person in certain, specific scenarios and the female lead shifted to be more of a concerned, optimistic, prototypical female lead. However, they had already setup some really heavy storylines and themes, and by the end, unfortunately, not everything is resolved in a meaningful, and satisfying way.I can safely say that the main thing that kept me watching was Park Hye Soo's performance -- to me, there is something reassuring about her: for example, she seems to smile all the time and it honestly melts my heart. But even then, I cannot say that I found her performance particularly skilled: a lot of her crying seemed very forced and fake to me. Still, I found myself glued to her for additional superficial reasons, like her beautiful outfits.
This show seemed to have big dreams but never really hit its goals, and I think most of it is the fault of a premise that's really weird and hard to pull off. And this show doesn't pull it off.
