ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
This was probably the second cdrama i watched after The Untamed, and it did NOT DISAPPOINT. the beginning is a little bit slow and confusing, but after you watch a bit, you will understand the beginning. the chemistry, acting, and the plot is so good. its engaging, fun, and overall an absolute gem. although the romance is a little bit fast paced at first, especially for me, a person who really liked slowburn - it is worth it. it made me laugh, cry, and smile SO MUCH. they feelings conveyed was sod!@!@?#> so good. the actors did amazing! a drama with heart break, betrayal, misunderstanding, and SUCH a good love triangle with a happy ending is this one. it was not draggy and i did not skip ANY scenes. although the second FL was annoying, and i tend to skip SFL scenes, i did not with her. her acting was on-point and so good. overall, a 10/10 drama from the OST to production. Seems like all in one package
Phoenix and jinmi 's love is always full with breakdowns. But their love defeated their destiny.
Costumes are great. Xu feng's cotume is the best. His hair style matchs perfectly with his costume.
All realms are nicely arranged. Demon realm is the best. Songs are great and heart touching.
All actors and actresses act naturally.
Story is great. But there are many sad moments in the story. So, I feel very sad. Yet the end says us that what is the meaning of LOVE.
So this story has a great meaning. Love is not something we can get if we can't sacrifice.
Therefore I love this drama series very much.

What I loved:
- Loved the romance between the main leads, Phoenix is so awesome!!
- I definitely felt for Night deity....also really loved his acting which was amazing
- Even all the supporting characters were delightful
Could have been better:
There subplots w/ secondary character romances were a bit much though.
This is probably my favorite drama of all time lol. Was definitely obsessed with this drama for a good long while

Decent but Amazing OST
The show was long with 63 episodes, which may be boring for some people. I think the casting was pretty good, but the script was a bit lacking. The OST was AMAZING. However, one thing I disliked was the fact that Jin Mi always needed saving. It was like she couldn't do anything that didn't involve one of the love interests or some supporting character helping her. The ending does make this better, and you will need a lot of tissues to watch this.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
One of the best dramas
At first, I was really skeptical about this drama because I usually do not like these types of dramas and I thought that I would've dropped it but it was the total opposite I was glued to the screen. Every scene was so interesting to me and the acting and the music really hit me hard. It's safe to say that I felt every type of emotion while watching this drama. I'm still trying to recover from how great this drama was and I genuinely don't know what to watch next because I'm not sure if anything else can top this dramaVond je deze recentie nuttig?

Bias Review towards RUNYUUUUU!
Ashes of Love ended in the process almost everybody wants it to end. The unstoppable love between Xu Feng and Jin Mi, despite of all the challenges that comes their way, satisfied most of its viewers, making this program a high-rated one. This drama, however, gave me throbbing and torturesome second lead syndrome as it makes the Fish Fairy hostile and unsympathetic from being warm and friendly individual. You can hate me for siding with Runyu the way you hate him when he was filled with greed and revenge after extreme grief and misery, but I would strongly insist that in this drama, he's the best character yet was just given with the worst fate. He was able to endure his tragic fate during his childhood, the criticisms thrown to him when he became a prince and all the hate and conspiracies he received when he was appointed as heavenly emperor but seriously, you cannot blame him if he selfishly wanted to be with Jin Mi. He has been alone and lonely ever since he was young, always been wronged and condemned, betrayed and misunderstood, and in the end, punished and left behind. In this drama, however, He's the only one who made me cry. Thanks to the production who gave emphasis on all his excruciating agony, he gained my empathy and respect. I never find his character annoying (maybe because it's the sophisticated Luo Yunxi who played it). His acting was most amazing part. It's even more awesome when the cold Runyu became playful after Puchi pretended to be him. Though a villain, he deserve more love. Though the story is not so good for him, he still managed to encourage me in watching it. Thank you for not dying in the end.-
