To celebrate the successful negotiations with Northern Qi, the emperor hosts a banquet. Fan Xian plans to use this opportunity to enter the Empress Dowager’s palace to get his mother’s key. The royal princess uses this opportunity to have the Northern Qi scholar to ridicule Fan Xian in front of everyone. Fan Xian's most famous druken 10,000 poems reciting scene is in this episode

2 important moments in the drama happened in this episode.1) Upon agreeing the Peace Treaty, the host welcomed Dong Yi and Northern Qi to celebratein a gala but was disrupted because Fan Xian's famous 7 lines poems was challenged for its authenticity by the Great scholar Zhang Mo Han. Here to prove his talent and skill, Fan Xian did the impossible...he got very drunk and recited 10k wordings of poem to defend his dignity and Qin's national honor.2) He and Uncle Wuzhu sneaked into the palace-empress dowager chamber to find the key to his mother's secret box. No one would suspect him as he was supposedly very drunk after the gala.
