Why I LIKE it?
1. The ANJells
Park Shin Hye, Jang Geun Suk, Jung Yong Hwa and Lee Hong Ki were all adorable in this drama. They were funny, silly and cute with a capital C. I have a feeling that they enjoyed their roles and each other's company while filming and it showed in the portrayal of their characters.
There is also the undeniable chemistry between Park Shin Hye and Jang Geun Suk, which made watching so much fun as their characters develop feelings for each other.
Surprisingly, both Jung Yong Hwa and Lee Hong Ki also performed really well considering that they were both rookies in the drama series scene at the time they filmed You're Beautiful. Jung Yong Hwa's acting was decent while Lee Hong Ki's stood out and his scenes were some of the most memorable for me.
2. The Story
It was well written and emotionally balanced. All happy and sad events in the story were relevant. Yes, there were some -that doesn't happen in real life- moments but that's the beauty of fiction for you. They were a part of the story for their entertainment value and they were not annoyingly impossible.
3. The Soundtrack
I just love love the songs in this drama! Enough said.
I recommend this drama to anyone who is looking for story that is cute, fun and very entertaining. It will keep you laughing and anticipate the different character's antics. You will stay glued to the screen as you watch!
WARNING: Expect severe withdrawal and the songs on repeat inside your head when you're done watching. Enjoy!

The plot was also really good! It's cute and pretty well-thought out. While it is dramatic (it is, after all, a DRAMA!) it's also really funny and adorably cute! (Especially Jeremy, HongKi's character!) I couldn't stop myself from laughing out loud or giggling and squeeling at a cute scene when they occurred (which was quite often).
It's easily one of my favorite dramas, and one that I would actually consider watching again and again, as it never gets old! Definitely a must-watch! ^^

To start with,Tae Kyung is one of those characters whom a girl could easily fall for because in reality a girl will always choose a bad guy over the good one.Tae Kyung is someone whom one hates at first site but as the episodes go further i liked him slowly..park shin hye as the lead is amazing.she knows how to act and can really make cute adoring faces where any guy could fall in love with as so many do in the drama.
the villain is vicious trying to ruin everything but it is the three musketeers who are always there saving Go Mi Nyu.
the romance is also also good throughout which keeps us hooked
the humour of this drama is one of the best.it was so hilarious that mother had to come to the room to ask if a whole army was laughin with me or not..:D
the girl disguising as the guy is one of the most common formula in dramas but i love how kdramas seem to bring the same story in so many different ways changin it in the process.the music score is amazing
the only problem this drama had was that after 12th episode it sort of dragged where i didnt know where it was going.but nothing can be perfect so even with its flaws this drama was a good one..to be rewatched again and again

Let me first address about the pace of the drama, since I think pacing seems to be so crucial to a successful drama, and something even many of the best dramas mess up on. The pacing of the storyline in You're Beautiful is dang near perfect. Never, in both times that I have watched the drama, have I felt the plot was either rushed or dragged out. It has the perfect balance of flow. As I said, I think that is very rare in dramas, even the best ones.
Next up, the cast. Now, I don't think I have read hardly any negative reviews for this drama, but I have, here and there, read of some people's negative opinions on a couple of the actors and their characters. I will start with them first. Park Shin Hye as Go Mi Nam brings a sweet performance. There are some people who think her acting is weak, but I think she portrays the innocence and complete naivety of the character perfectly, complete with wide eyed surprise and openly displaying her emotions.
I've also read in various places about how some people consider Jung Yong Hwa's performance of Shin Woo as weak. Again, I'd have to disagree with them there. After watching again, I have some to appreciate the character's quiet strength and silent affection. Just because a character is quiet and does not assert himself does not make that character weak, nor does it make it the actor weak in portraying them. I think he did a great job.
Now, as for the main lead, Jang Geun Suk as Tae Kyung, I think he was excellent. You're Beautiful was the first thing I ever saw him in, and since the first time I watched it, I have seen some of his other works. I've read how some people say his character in You're Beautiful is the same as the character he plays in Love Rain, but I totally disagree. Besides being arrogant, I don't see any similarities between them. I think his role as Tae Kyung is a lot different than any other he has played. His facial expressions are peculiar to that character, the tone of his voice, his whole style. When watching You're Beautiful, I don't see so much Jang Geun Suk as I see Hwang Tae Kyung. That is the mark of good acting. He truly makes the character's many personality flaws endearing and lovable, especially when he scowls.
A special mention here would be Kim In Kwon's supportive role of Mr. Ma. OMG this guy is HILARIOUS! First of all this has got to be the best written secondary character ever and the Hong Sisters deserve a special award just for coming up with him. Kim In Kwon makes every little hilarious thing Mr. Ma does so natural and does it all with a perfectly straight face. He steals the scene wherever he is, and many of his funniest moments are just doing little things, such as a little pleased congratulatory dance to himself while walking dawn the hall. The man is a comedic genius.
Finally, I want to add something that I only really noticed the second time around. There are many hidden meanings throughout the drama. This, I think, is what really makes me feel that the Hong Sisters were genius with this drama. If you pay attention, you're catch a few things and it's pretty cool. One that I noticed that many people may not....just watch how many times 'O tu Ka Jo?' ('What should I Do?') Is uttered throughout the drama. ;)
In the end, this drama is absolutely one of the best dramas I have ever seen. I certainly recommend this to anyone and everyone.

The plot line of it is interesting but story fails to really intrigue people. Many minor story loopholes and illogical moments (can be ignored easily). Definitely did enjoyed it when I was 13/14 (I'm 20 now). The story flows well and can be easily understood.
Acting was awkward, or maybe its just how the characters should be.
I will recommend this drama as starters, because this is really a classic piece of drama with many typical story in one: gender blender, mean male lead with innocent female lead, gentle and all-good second male lead, mean female second lead, cohabitation, birth mysteries...

Fast forward to 2017 upon re-watch. Nope. Female lead is a stupid and annoying character and the actress has not improved her acting talents. It's a crap show not because it's old, but because the characters are boring. The male lead was the only strong actor. Everyone else sucked.

Well, gather round folks. I will explain it one time, and one time only. If you miss it...well tough. Happily go read a review where this drama is rated "Poor." Find a like-minded sprit and write OVERRATED all over your wall, so you get 13 likes & maybe a smiley face.
Because now we're entering a hater-free zone.
YB was a drama I entered with low expectations, because one of my frenemies liked it, and anything SHE liked, must be cr*p. The first 3 episodes did enough to keep my watching, though I didn't take an immediate shine to Park Shin Hye. Pretending to be a nun...pff. Anyone can tell that girl is durrty ^_^ (Don't believe me? Watch how she dances)
I desperately didn't want Jang Geun Suk to be the lead (wanted Shin Woo instead) because he looked like a grease monkey...but one surly look, and I resigned myself to fangirling. ;)
There were points in the drama I wanted to quit (because Hwang Tae Kyung was freaking me out by operating on pig-rabbits) and it looked like no-one was going to confess, and we were getting nowhere..
But then episode 10 happened. Suddenly things were HAPPENING, yo. Jeremy finds out she's a girl (JEREMY IS THE BEST COMIC-RELIEF BTW) and Shin Woo confesses but sounds so stalkerish/mean doing it, I went right off him...Lovely bloke otherwise!
Special highlights were when Go Mi Nam was shooting her/his music video and Jang released this really gorgeous smile. Jang (again) being chased by a wild pig after miming to "Breathless" by Shane Ward (bet he WAS breathless after that debacle). Any scene with Jeremy in it!
Still hoping for season 2, but it's fading each year. Oh well. I'm sure the Hong sisters wouldn't know what to write next anyway :P Or that's at least what I keep telling myself...
