I knew I would love this since I first watched the trailer. The whole cop falls for gangster thing really gets me.
The story goes beyond romance and we get comedy, lots of great action and dramatics scenes. The chemestry between the two lead actors (Jake Hsu and Chris Wu) is amazing! When I saw the poster I tought they wouldn't work together but I was wrong. All interactons feels genuine. There is no awkwardsness, the kissing, the figthing, everything is really good. Also, I love how Meng Shao Fei’s personality is different and unique.
I didn't enjoy the secondary couple that much. Maybe because that kind of comedy doesn't really appeal to me. However, I consider Jack a good caracther.
Love the intro and ending musics, really fits the show!
I've just watched for the second time and it's even better now. Definitely worth watching.

STORYThe use of a "cops-and-robbers" theme sets this BL series apart from the usual stories happening in a school setting, and that enticed me to watch this. But what kept me on continuing to watch this are the wonderfully written characters and storylines. You won't find the usual all-good or all-bad characters here -- they are complex and their interactions and journeys in the series are really interesting to watch. Not using a university or high school scene in the series allows the makers to create something that's more than a love story, incorporating moral dilemmas that the characters go through as well as some relevant social issues. Common BL series plots such as coming-out-of-the-closet or unsupportive families and/or friends take a backseat (or "no seat at all") in this series, and that's fine. Although I recognize the importance of showing those struggles, other series are doing it already, and for this BL I feel like it transported me into a time when such matters are not a problem at all.
Most of the storylines were completed by the end of the series, there are some which I think were left unresolved, forgotten, or closed abruptly. But there's a good chance that you'll kind of forget those details
ACTING
Great actors working with great material equals a great show, and here you can't just say that this series is good because it has a great story -- the actors did a really good job in portraying the complexity of their roles.
MUSIC
TBH I haven't paid much attention to the music but when I did I find that the sounds chosen fit the scenes very well, so I'm only judging based on those times that I paid attention to -- thus a perfect mark.
REWATCH VALUE
HIStory always offers a different BL not only when compared to other franchises but even to their previous "seasons". The entire collection (seasons 1 to 3) showcases tons of different stories that I don't mind watching all of them from the first to the last.

The first paragraph of the description makes it seem like it is a different society type thing. It's not. The police officers don't all work for gangsters, this only happens a couple of times in the story. I also don't like how it says Tang Yi set a "love trap" for Meng Shaofei. Shaofei falls for Tang Yi first but having Shaofei fall in love with him was not Tang Yi's plan. The only thing Tang Yi was planning was getting revenge on the murderer of Tang Guodong. He was quite flirtatious with Shaofei, but I would not say he set up a trap of some kind. It feels very misleading. I was expecting some kind of elaborate plan Tang Yi had set up to be revealed at the end, but there wasn't one. Shaofei was the one who followed Tang Yi everywhere, willingly. He was the one making moves on Tang Yi and getting jealous when Tang Yi still seemed to be clueless about Shaofei's feelings. Okay, I'll stop ranting about the description now. This story is so incredibly good. I don't really feel like I need to say much about how wonderful it is because I know many other reviews have done a great job of telling how good this show is. I love it, please watch it.

Please give us a season 2
I don't really know how to explain what happened to me when I was watching this. I started off a bit unsure, but something shifted for me in episode 3, especially after Jack and Zhao Zhi officially met, and I was just hooked. I went back and watched my favourite scenes all over again the day after I finished it. The plot doesn’t take always take the obvious route, and even where it does I didn't even mind. The characters were fun, layered, and played off each other so well. And honestly I need a season 2 and I need so so so much more Jack and Zhao Zhi. 100% more. Their talk on the staircase, the second face, the were you using me fight, it all came right at the end but it was SO GOOD and did so much for their dynamic which I was already obsessed with. I loved them SO MUCH. I want to know so much more about Jack, and about Zhao Zi and his life without a family. Was this show actually perfect, no. But it ticked all my favourite boxes and the side characters were so good and I just had the most fun watching it.

Cute mafia + police romance
I can say I love this type of romance. Mafia and Police kinda of romance. This one was really cute. And wasn´t like "policeman are always nice" or giving a bad vibe about some kinda of mafia ppl (but wasn´t like doing of it a really romantic issue (the mafia I mean).
Is good how they show the bad sides of mafia and how should really end that kind of romances.
We should say the two couples are cute. And is even more cute how the main is connected.
Both the ml mafia guy and ml cop are trying to show the world how wrong their are about "their bosses" but in different two ways.
What can I say more... I really loved everything special the chemistry
I recomend it.

Outstanding drama
This is my first time writing a review. I guess I'm still emotional over the last episode I just finished watching. At first the storyline seems to be very common but aftera couple episodes, I found myself very invested in the story. The actors are also real good. I particularly love Hsiang Hao Ting's acting, I found it really cute but deep. All of them are also really handsome, it's a plus. I highly recommend this drama to anyone. It is very smooth to watch and I bet you'll get rapidly attached to the characters. Thank you for reading my reviewVond je deze recentie nuttig?

A great show from start to finish
The theme song from his show was on my playlist even before I finished the episodes. It’s probably my favorite BL theme.Enemies to lovers dramas are not usually my style because it usually feels like either since is very forced. With HIStory3: Trapped we get enough of a backstory to understand why they don’t like each other from episode 1. But they also don’t hate each other. Tang Yi is annoying by Shao Fei, who in turn suspects that Tang Yi is involved in bad stuff. I mean, the iconic gun scene from the poster is very much like their relationship in the beginning, just loud screams and not much action.
I feel like the way their relationship flows into romance happens at a good pace. It’s not sudden nor do I feel like it takes too much space in a show that’s not just about the romance. Trapped is as much about the mob stuff as it’s about the couple. We also get a secondary couple, with Li An and Jack, that works well as both a couple and a balanced comedy relief. I don’t know if I’d say Jake and Chris have amazing romantic chemistry, but I think they work very well together even in the more steamy scenes.
The whole dad reveal was obvious from a mile away, but it, at least, gave us a rare father in law - son in law scene in a BL. The side story with the annoying sister was very much forgettable.

My first BL series that I watched and I did not regret it
P.S. Consider my review here to be pretty late because I actually watched this last year plus this series takes a special place in my heart due to the fact that this is where it started my journey in watching BL series lol...What I love about this show is how the plot and characters' relationships developed well. We have the main couple and the side couple : police x mob and I was already ecstatic for it. Both couples have great chemistry with each other and I'm glad that the acting is also good - expressions are portrayed well with just a few scenes or moments of stiff acting but that's fine because the overall outcome of the series ended up pretty well.
In addition to that, it's also not the typical romantic comedy genre. It's a fusion of action, romance, drama with a little bit of comedy here and there and I love how they balanced this well. Props to the director, producer as well as the writer.
The pacing of the story did not disappoint me as well because we get to see how the relationship of the couples progressed. There's no "boom" already a couple moment or "boom" hot and steamy kissing scenes already at the first episode. I love how it was slow burn so that the series could develop in terms of plot and character because both couples had their sweet and subtle moments of flirting and I find it to be so wholesome.
For the Cons of this series, I actually felt like the main conflict ended up pretty flat for me. Like I had the expression, that was it? That was the only thing that bothered me in the series.
In conclusion, this is definitely worth the watch if you're into police x mob pairings and slow burn romance with a hint of action and comedy. The series also has a solid cast with good chemistry plus a 45-50 mins running time for each episode that will definitely not leave you hanging.
This series is also part of the History franchise (TAIWAN BL SERIES) and I'll only recommend :
1. History3 - Trapped (COMPLETE),
2. History3 - Make Our Days Count (COMPLETE)
3. History4 - Close To You (ONGOING) because personally, these are the only series worth the watch in the History franchise.
Anyway, Enjoy watching... :)

Is this an award-winning program? Not particularly. Is this a genuinely enjoyable, cheesy, but deeply emotional story with a lot of character growth, minimal homophobia, and a plotline that exists outside of the romantic subplots? Jesus, yes. It is nearly impossible to find a decent show with canon gay relationships that aren't flat-out bad (read: step-siblings trope, abusive, large age differences/imbalanced power dynamic, one or both parties dying) but Trapped is a notable exception. The only negatively depicted gay character is balanced out by 6 positive gay/bi figures, so I can excuse it. I just really wasn't expecting this series to go so hard and avoid so many homophobic stereotypes that tend to come with the territory. They don't erase or shy away from the fact that these men are gay or bi, but they also don't constantly subject them to blatant homophobia. The director is seriously a legend. She really knows what she's doing. Also, the entire cast had so much chemistry and it showed in every scene. I loved this show. Would watch again and fully cry.
