Flawed, but a good heartwarming story with a great cast, music, and cinematography overall.
OVERVIEW: While this drama is definitely flawed, it is still worth watching, especially if you're looking for a good heartwarming story with a great cast, amazing soundtracks, and beautiful cinematography. This drama is absolutely beautiful in so many ways and shouldn't be judged or skipped due to some of its weaker points.STORY: I REALLY wanted to give this story a 10/10 when I first started watching this drama, but, after seeing it from beginning to end, I just can't do that. As some people have already pointed out, the story in this drama starts off really strong, but then the plot seems to get lost and confused along the way and there are a lot of things that I kept waiting for the writer to come up with an explanation for by the end, but she never did, sadly. It's really a shame, because the plot is unique, interesting, and moving in many different ways, but the writer is clearly inexperienced and had a hard time linking certain scenes or events together in a logical and coherent way, as well as coming up with reasonable explanations for why and how things work in this fantasy world she created. What I liked about the story/writing the most is that it's great at eliciting an emotional reaction from the audience--it can be extremely funny and make you laugh/smile at times, while also moving you to tears at other times. This is not something that is easy to do, and I think this drama does it VERY well.
However, it's obvious that both the writer and the director "dropped the ball," so to say, when it came to many scenes throughout the drama. Some scenes or events have no logical transitions or explanations, and I felt like I never knew what was supposed to be "real" and what wasn't while I was watching as a result. What's more, it felt like there were a lot of filler scenes as well where certain characters keep having the exact same conversations over and over again, in the same places as well, which was not only redundant, but it took away from time that could have been used to explain what was really going on or to add more meaningful information or hints about what was to come or how things worked in this world. I felt like the story had the potential to be much more complex and interesting than it was, but the writer didn't know how to take things to the next level. Overall, while I really liked the story for this drama a lot, I felt like it didn't deliver on what it promised its viewers. When the trailers for this drama came out, it made it seem like it would be a funny, yet suspenseful, rom-com, and the first few episodes supported this impression. However, after the first few episodes, the drama quickly becomes overly dramatic and doesn't even feel like a rom-com anymore. I feel like if the drama had had a better writer/director, it could have been so much better, but the story as it is is still worth watching regardless.
ACTING/CAST: In my opinion, I felt like the cast was well-chosen for this drama. While some of the supporting characters can be frustrating to watch at times, I feel like that has more to do with the writing than the actors/cast themselves. Unlike what many people keep saying about this drama, though, I do NOT think that Shin Hye Sun "carried this drama on her own." BOTH Shin Hye Sun and Kim Myung Soo give stellar performances in this drama, and BOTH also have some weak acting moments here and there as well. While I too had some issues with Kim Dan's character and Myung Soo's overacting in the beginning, since I have seen Myung Soo act in other dramas I know that isn't how he usually acts and I think the fault is mostly on the writer/director for not giving him better guidance, or for instructing him to act in such a way. As Kim Dan (Kim Myung Soo) matures throughout the story, though, we get to see Myung Soo portray a much more serious, empathetic, and nuanced character, and he absolutely NAILS IT. I cried so many times because of Myung Soo's touching performance, and also laughed just as many times at his comical and animated expressions/reactions. Shin Hye Sun's performance is also impressive in this drama, and, though I am NOT a very huge fan of Shin Hye Sun, I loved her as Lee Yeon Seo. Yeon Seo's character can be so funny and so heartbreaking to watch in this drama, and I found her to be extremely likeable as well, especially in the beginning of the drama. However, Yeon Seo's appeal does sadly diminish somewhat throughout the drama as she falls into a lot of the same, tired female character tropes that you tend to see in dramas. Her character returns to her old self from time to time though and shows everyone what a strong, badass woman she can be. I just wish that her character could have remained that way the whole time, rather than becoming weak and weepy and damsel-in-distress-y in the second half of the drama. In general, I felt like ALL of the characters had some pretty poor acting moments here and there throughout the drama. But, again, I feel like this is the fault of poor writing/directing and not the actors, because they constantly redeem themselves again and again throughout the drama and remind viewers what makes this drama so special.
MUSIC: The music in this drama is AMAZING. It's so beautiful and so perfectly matched to the drama that it really brings out the emotions of the scenes and makes you want to watch them over and over again, not just to see the performances, but also to listen to the touching/catchy songs as well. You will want to listen to the songs from this drama over and over again after you watch it--they're really THAT good.
REWATCH VALUE: While I don't think I'll ever watch the whole series from beginning to end in full again, since there are some parts that are boring/annoying to watch, I have already rewatched certain scenes from the drama several times. This drama is truly addicting and will make you want to rewatch all of the funny, romantic, and moving scenes over and over again.
OVERALL: I recommend this drama to anyone who's looking for a good heartwarming drama or a good tear-jerker to watch. While it certainly has its flaws and is nowhere near perfect, the acting, unique plot, beautiful cinematography, and amazing music are more than enough reasons to watch it.

Encourages finding Solace despite going through misfortunes !
It has been a long time since I last wrote a KDrama review. I haven’t been watching a drama recently, or if I did, I don’t know how I should write a review about it. Recently, I have been seeing a lot of fun and cute clips about this drama, Angel’s Last Mission: Love. So, I decided to watch it. I haven’t read any reviews about this or even the plot of this drama, so I was only basing the few clips I have seen. Before I continue with my review or thoughts about this drama, I would like to give some disclaimers. First, I am not a pro at making drama reviews. I only write my opinions, thoughts, and how that certain drama affected me. My opinions may be similar or different from yours. So, it will still be your judgement if you like it or not. Second, this review might contain spoilers. In order for me to fully share my thoughts, I may include some scenes from the drama that I watched.
Things I liked about “Angel’s Last Mission: Love”
The story line
This is my first time watching a drama about an angel who fell in love with a human. Although I know some dramas that also consist of an angel and a human. So, this drama is a bit new to me. To be very honest, it has a typical plot where the main characters have this tragedy love. But what made it special is because of the differences of the characters and how everything doesn’t go the way they wanted it to be. Lee Yeon Seo, a beautiful and well-loved ballerina, lost all her loved ones and even experienced blindness because of an accident. Dan, who was once a human and died when he was still a child, became an angel for Lee Yeon Seo. Both experienced such tragedies, yet both can’t have each other because they are different.
How it constantly made me cry
I love KDramas who makes me cry. Yes, it may feel weird but somehow these kinds of dramas make me realize that I am a human with feelings. This drama is consistent in making me cry. I started crying from the very first episode until the last one. Maybe because I was feeling down lately that made me cry harder than usual. But the scenes were well developed. It all started when Mr. Jo died in the first few episodes and how Yeon Seo reminisced her past with him. Death is truly inevitable. It’s just that we don’t know when it will happen that made it painful. Knowing that Dan can turn into dust on that certain day, the two of them created more memories and enjoyed every second. I don’t actually know which is more painful – to know that your special person is leaving you or to not know at all and be shocked when it happens.
The casts
1) Shin Hye Sun as Lee Yeon Seo
I knew this actress since Legend of the Blue Sea and I really find her so talented. I know some of her dramas, but I haven’t watched it. This is my first time watching her drama where she has the lead role. Definitely, she is one of the best actresses today. I can totally feel the pain she is feeling, the bitterness inside her, everything. Her eyes can show all those emotions without trying hard.
Shin Hye Sun is not a ballerina in real life so it is really challenging for her to do the routines of a true ballerina. But that didn’t stop her from portraying a great role. To whoever casted her in this role, you really did a great job.
2)Kim Myungsoo as Kim Dan
I knew him as a member of the KPOP group Infinite. A lot of my friends actually like him. To be honest, he is really good looking. But the reason why I didn’t stan him is that I feel like there are a lot of people who already likes him, and sometimes I feel like he is too overrated. But I eat my words. I started liking him now because of this drama. Well, I actually do not know if I like Kim Myungsoo or Kim Dan. There’s a difference between the two. Aside from the fact that he is really good to look at, I like that he can make me laugh at a simple phrase or whatsoever. Kim Myungsoo also did a great job in portraying Kim Dan. You can definitely feel that Kim Dan has a pure heart, just quite naïve. I thank this drama for making me like Myungsoo. I just hope I’m not yet too late to like him.
3)Gil Eun Hye as Geum Ru Na
She’s probably one of the best actresses in this drama. She does not do anything yet whenever she appears on screen I get irritated to the point that I wanted to go inside the screen of my computer and slap her. This only means one thing, she is a really good actress.
The use of references
One of the main things I’ve noticed is how they used “Giselle” as a reference to what is currently happening to Yeon Seo and Kim Dan. I am not familiar with the story of Giselle to be honest. I only know Swan Lake in terms of ballets. In Giselle, the guy pretended to be a peasant when in fact he is an upper class. In the drama, Kim Dan pretended to be a human when in fact he is an angel. Giselle fell in love with the guy. Yeon Seo fell in love with Kim Dan.
I love these kinds of stories wherein they use references and somehow incorporate those references on the current story.
Things I somehow disliked about “Angel’s Last Mission: Love”
It’s not that I totally dislike it, it’s just that I needed more.
Lee Dong Gun as Ji Kang Woo
Lee Dong Gun was one of the first K-actors that I admired. I just stopped admiring him when he broke up with Jiyeon and later revealed that he is getting married with another woman and that woman is pregnant. I don’t know the whole story but yeah, I kinda feel awkward with him ever since . Anyway, Lee Dong Gun is still a great actor up until now. It’s just that think he is physically suited to play the role of Ji Kang Woo. It’s just my own preference. But I wanted someone who is a bit younger than him who can play the role. Nonetheless, he is still good.
Ending
I wanted it to be a happy ending. Well, who doesn’t right? Because after all the hardships that Lee Yeon Seo felt, I believe she deserves a happy ending. The good thing is, yes, it was a happy ending, but it lacks something. I needed more. All throughout the drama, I felt pain. There were only few happy moments and until the very last time, it was still few. How does Ms. Jung feel when Kim Dan was back? What did they do after? I needed more happy interactions for the very last time. But I was deprived from having it. Well, at least it was a happy ending. That was the only thing that I tell myself so that I won’t feel disappointed.
Thoughts on the ending, Conclusion & Lessons
Before watching it, I honestly thought that it was a fun and chill drama because almost all the clips I have seen are funny. I wanted to watch a chill drama since “Voice 3” was a bit heartbreaking for me (I still can’t even write a proper review of it). But as I watch the first episode, I realized that it wasn’t a chill drama. It was a heavy one. But nevertheless, I liked it and it probably became part of my top 3 favorite KDrama of all time together with Scarlet Heart Ryeo and W: Two Worlds. This drama still left me a lot of questions. Like what I mentioned earlier, how does Ms. Jung feel knowing that Kim Dan was back? Also, how about Geum Ru Na? Was she possessed by an evil spirit because whenever she had plans on her mind a whisper can be heard? I didn’t get any answers to that. But I guess, it’s just a part of the story. There are some questions better left unanswered.
There are a few things that I learned in this drama. First, “People come, and people go”. Not everyone in our lives will continue to stay in our lives. They will eventually die or just leave us. So, we should just cherish every moment we have to that certain person.
Second, we get mad at God most of the time for not giving us what we want. There are even times that we start to question Him on why He is doing such things to human beings. If He is really the God of Love why are we suffering? Even an angel asked Him these during the series. Sometimes, we just tend follow our own instincts that is why we feel like we are betrayed by Him. Everything has their own time and every prayer has their own answers. But whatever answer it may be, it’s for the best.
That doesn’t mean that we should no longer ask Him and just go on with the flow. We should always align our prayers to His will. And believe me, He answers prayers.
Third, not all the time we can get what we want even if we have worked hard for it. Geum Ni Na is a great example. She worked hard but at the end she still loses the spot of being Giselle. Maybe it’s not yet her time? Or maybe it’s not really the path for her. At the end of the drama, she became an instructor to children and there she is happy. Most of the time, we tend to focus on what we want and sometimes forget that there are still other things around us. I am not saying that we should no longer work hard for the things we want but we should know when to continue and when to stop.
Angel’s Last Mission: Love is a drama that I will treasure forever. I thank those who created this for giving me such a great time. How about you? What are your thoughts in this drama?

Why this is one of my favourite dramas
I don't even know how to begin. This Drama was amazing and beautiful and I loved it entirely. There was honestly not a moment where I thought it was bad in anyway. The plot was so intense and beautiful and the actors managed to portray it as such. The plot twists kept me on edge and they were so creative. The characters were lovable too and you could really get an understanding of where each character comes from. I genuinely felt that this could be a realistic story besides the angel thing, but yeah!
The ending was also so satisfying. If the ending is bad, it automatically makes the story feel incomplete, but this drama had a lovely end and I was so happy at what happened (you'll know what I mean if you've watched it)
Anyway. This drama was amazing and if you are considering watching it. DO IT! You will not regret it. I promise!

I have to agree on L's overdone acting but heyyy at least he gets better (I really dislike idols in dramas but nevermind tho). Shin Hye Sun is superb, you will cry together with her. I still think this is another waste of drama project for her. The chemistry is hella fine, I pretty much enjoyed the break through of bad boys getting the girls, like finally, we have another story of a nice guy from the start to the end.
I guess the writer met his/her writer's block. The drama is average.

The last few episodes broke my cry record, I bawled so hard and have never felt such a bittersweet moment when it ended. I plan to rewatch this for a good while and to cry again.
I HIGHLY recommend at least a first episode watch. 10/10.

I guess it really is something more because I cried buckets for this drama. The last time I cried this much was for Scarlet Heart Ryeo and that was for weeks and weeks! This time, I had the pleasure of binge watching it for just a day. I finished it at 2 am. Every episode, I would find something to cry about, so by the end of it all, I honestly looked like the crypt keeper.
I am fairly new, but kind of a BIG fan of SHIN HYE SUN. I loved her in THIRTY BUT SEVENTEEN because of her superb acting. This drama cemented it in my eyes. She knows how to bring out these wide range of emotions. Recently, she also developed a knack for choosing the right roles! I love, love, love Lee Yeon Seo's character. She's the right mixture of strong and gentle. In all episodes, looking at her expressions and how she took in everything that came her way it made me appreciate her as well as her story.
Myung Soo is a REVELATION! I was never a fan before I watched this drama. I watched him in Miss Hammurabi and I always thought there was something missing. I totally, totally changed my mind. He's great! He's oh so good that I was swept away by all of his charm AND his DRAMATIC skills too! I was crying when he was crying (yes, it seems that all I did was cry while watching this drama). I am in love with the idea of an angel trying his best to do what's right, but I am more in love with the angel himself. :) I am looking forward to more dramas with him in it.
The story is very, very, VERY satisfying! It was such a big build up. It truly felt like I was going up this roller coaster ride, fell down, went around and around, slowed down a little then went up again to come out to this smooth finish. I breathed a sigh of relief for everybody .
If I had any complaints, it would only be that it ended. I wished to see more of their lives, but that's just me fangirling. I can definitely continue their story in my mind. :)
So yeah, if you're a fan of fantasy, romance or drama, WATCH THIS!

Angel's Last Mission: Love - A Heavenly Romance That'll Make Your Heart Soar!
First things first, can we talk about L (Kim Myung-soo)? Our boy from INFINITE is out here stealing hearts as Dan, this adorably mischievous angel who's got one last shot at earning his wings. His puppy-dog eyes and goofy smile had me melting from episode one. But don't let that fool you – when the drama hits, this guy can act. There were moments where I was laughing one second and ugly crying the next, all thanks to his performance. And then we have Shin Hye-sun as Lee Yeon-seo, our prickly ballerina with a heart of gold (buried deep, deep under layers of sass and attitude). Y'all, this woman is FIERCE. Watching her journey from a bitter, isolated diva to someone who learns to open her heart again? Pure magic. Shin Hye-sun nails every nuance of this complex character, and I was living for it.
Now, let's address the elephant in the room – yes, it's another human-falls-in-love-with-supernatural-being story. But trust me, this isn't your run-of-the-mill fantasy romance. The way they weave in themes of faith, destiny, and the nature of love had me pondering the big questions of life. And don't even get me started on the ballet scenes! As someone with two left feet, watching Yeon-seo dance was like seeing actual magic happen on screen.
One thing that really got me was how the show balanced its lighter, comedic moments with some seriously heavy themes. We're talking loss, grief, betrayal – the works. There's this one episode , no!! all most every episodes (no spoilers, I promise) that had me sobbing so hard I had to pause .. It's that good, people.
And let me tell you, when I say I cried, I mean I CRIED. We're talking full-on ugly crying, complete with hiccuping sobs, puffy eyes, and a mountain of tissues. There were moments where I was so emotionally wrecked that I had to hit pause just to catch my breath. I'm pretty sure my neighbors thought I was going through a breakup or something. But you know what? Those tears were worth it. This show wrung every last drop of emotion out of me, and I loved every second of it.
Now, I'll be real with you – the plot does get a bit makjang (read: melodramatic) at times. There were moments where I was yelling at my screen, "Oh come on, that would never happen!" But you know what? I was having too much fun to care. This show had me hook, line, and sinker.
And let's not forget the visuals. From the stunning ballet performances to the ethereal scenes of the celestial realm, every frame is a feast for the eyes. I may or may not have screenshots of some scenes as my phone wallpaper now. Don't judge me!
So, if you're in the mood for a drama that'll make you laugh, cry (and I mean CRY), and believe in the magic of love (and maybe angels), give "Angel's Last Mission: Love" a whirl. It's like a warm hug for your soul, with a side of heavenly abs and pirouettes. Just make sure you're stocked up on tissues and have a good excuse ready for your puffy eyes the next day!

The story was well written and the theme about ballet was well chosen as well. The fragility of the dance is mirrored in the plot. Ballet is fragile yet strong, and so is the love story of Yeon Soo and Dan.
Though the big finale was predictable, it was still very good. You anticipate it to happen and just want to know how it's playing out in the end.
Not everything was predictable though, there were also many smaller things that surprised me. I'm also glad that not every death was a planned assassination here.
Acting was really, really good. I'm used to Shin Hye Sun's convincing skills, but I have to praise L's performance even more. He improved a lot since I last saw him in a drama. His scenes were never lacking nor were they exaggerated. It seemed as if Dan's character was written for L's body and soul. I can't think of anyone else more fitting.
The cinematography of some scenes were quite an eyecatcher. And to complete the picture, the music was at its best. It was so well composed and placed that the drama would truly have missed out if it wouldn't have been a part of it. It's one of those soundtracks that makes you immediately remember the drama that belonged to it. It was sad and beautiful and comforting and hopeful.
Definitely recommended.

Light, fun, cute romance.
There is no mistaking that romance is one of the most popular genres of drama, and sometimes romance dramas can be flat where they primarily focus on the romance and the rest of the drama falls flat. This is a drama where the romance is perfectly executed, and the storyline is well balanced throughout all the episodes so you rarely feel bored. The concept of the drama itself is relatively unique, with an angel looking to find love for a bitter ballerina.
In this drama, the strength and wealth of the female character matched with the humour and carefree spirit of the male lead is a good refresh from the usual stereotype of a strong male and weaker female lead. Both Kim Myungsoo and Shin Hye Sun fantastically portray their characters, truly making you engage and enjoy the storyline. Kim Myungsoo is effective at making Kim Dan a lively angel, with a good amount of comedy sprinkled into his acting, helping to keep the drama lighthearted and fun. The two have a very good dynamic together, which helps to make the drama more believable and satisfying to watch.
The chemistry between the two builds throughout the 32 episodes, without leaving areas where there is a lull in the storyline where it can begin to get boring as I often find in other romance dramas. As a romance drama, their effective and engaging chemistry takes the forefront of the story, however there are many different elements and other storylines which can keep you engaged. There is a good balance between the sub storylines, which add in some suspense and intrigue .
To conclude, the leads in the drama have fantastic chemistry, and the storyline has a good balance of a variety of different elements, such as romance and suspense.
