Actually not bad, I enjoy this show
From the start of watching I had high expectations for this drama and yeah it met my expectations. Even though this drama was released in 2019 and I watched it in 2023, it doesn't feel like old dramas in general. from start to finish I enjoyed watching this drama even though in the final episode I skipped several scenes because I hated Nam Shi Hoo (FL sister's husband) because I think FL sister lacked communication and just remained silent when her husband abused her and in the end it was just being divorced without arresting her husband made me angry. Overall, I like the shooting of this drama, the ost song of this drama, and the cinematics of this drama. I think it's good. even though the ending looks too rushed like we can't see ML get the meet from FL father and can't see ML and FL get married together, but I'm sure this is a happy ending to this drama. worth rewatching
I just finished binge watching it after 1 year, and this time I noticed the details even more. The drama is so well written that though I have watched it before, I was completely addicted for two days straight. It is quite realistic and opens our eyes to several different things which we look down upon generally in reality. It elaborates how situations leads to certain circumstances, you can't paint most people in black or white, there are grey zones. It show how wonderful some humans can be and how powerful some are to be able to overcome massive emotional toll. L'amour fleurit les nuits de printemps
An Pan Seok nous a habitué aux dramas romantiques qui font réfléchir ce dont je le remercie grandement !Ici, pas de "je t'aime, moi non plus", pas d'amourette de niveau maternelle, on est dans le mature. Il sait nous présenter la société coréenne et tous ses à priori sur ce que devrait être un couple, une relation et une vie maritale comme la tradition l'enseigne si bien sans s'ennuyer avec l'évolution des sociétés et des humains.
Ainsi, avec l'aide de Jeong Hae In qu'on peut retrouver également dans Something In the Rain, qui aborde les mêmes thèmes mais dans une autre tournure, An Pan Seok nous expose la rencontre du jeune lead masculin avec la très talentueuse Han Ji Min qui incarne ici le milieu d'une sororie (féminin de fratrie). Je souhaite la présenter de cette façon car, en effet, ce drama est avant tout une série centrée sur les femmes : leurs relations, leurs vie de couple, leur vision de la vie, de la société, de leur avenir.
Cette production nous montre sans filtres aucun la conception archaïque de la place de la femme dans la société mais aussi au sein du milieu familial que suit encore, bien malheureusement, une majorité de coréens.
On passe d'une sœur à l'autre et d'un point de vue rétrograde des relations de couples à l'image et l'opinion publique qui passe avant même la vie d'une personne (féminine, bien sûr) tout en mêlant ça avec une culture du viol encore bien ancrée.
Le réalisateur va même nous présenter la difficulté dans le pays de refaire sa vie amoureuse quand on a l'immense malheur et déshonneur d'être parent célibataire, ce qui peut paraitre bien sibyllin aux yeux des occidentaux que nous sommes et qui sont plus habitués aux familles recomposées. Nous voyons là un nouveau départ là où certaines personnes de cette société voient une femme qui jette sa vie aux orties pour élever un enfant qui n'est pas à elle, car les liens du sang et l'image que l'on donne aux autres là-bas, comptent (pour certains) bien plus que l'amour.
Pour faire le bilan, oui, la série fait réfléchir. Elle alerte sur le fait que ces pratiques fossiles ont malheureusement encore cours à notre époque. Mais le drama reste sur une note d'espoir car nos trois sœurs montrent qu'en se soutenant, en refusant ces diktats figés dans l'immobilisme conservateur, on peut tout surmonter, on peut se libérer et trouver son égal, son amour et sa voie.
En bref, un formidable hymne à l'émancipation. Foncez le voir !

A slow pace drama but worth a shot
Mainly this drama has different story which portrayed the actual difficulties in real love life. I really enjoyed this drama but little disappointed (bored) because at some time the story got stuck and repeating the same things(scenes) but I don’t regret for watching this. Especially the FL character I most impressed, she is such a determined and committed to love or the decisions she made but I what I felt is the ML doesn’t deserve the FL because for him she endured so much pain and made so much sacrifices but he couldn’t quit alcohol for her even once it resulted in almost break up, and cheat her even he pledged to her not to drink more than once in a month (punishment for breaking the pledge is break up). He has a son but still he doesn’t have any commitment or responsibility to cherish her.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Platz 1 Lieblings Serien
Absolute Empfehlung, hab die Serie gerade zum 3. Mal geschaut und werde sie mit Sicherheit noch öfter sehen:1. dichte Atmosphäre, keine der Episoden hat einen Durchhänger, der Spannungsbogen stimmt
2. die Hauptdarsteller, aber auch die Nebendarsteller sind detailliert dargestellt und verkörpern nich ausschließlich Stereotypen sondern haben auch Besonderheiten, die sie sehr lebendig und irgendwie liebenswert erscheinen lassen. Ich liebe die jüngste Schwester der Hauptdarstellerin, dargestellt von Joo Min-kyung, die ich auch in „Something in the rain“ sehr mag. Die Hauptdarstellerin Han Ji-min mag ich ebenfalls sehr, ich nehme ihr ihre Emotionen, Motive und Handlungen ab. In den beiden Serien „Familiar Wife“ und „Hyde, Jeckyll, me“ hat sie mich ebenfalls überzeugt. Jung Hae In als Hauptdarsteller kann nur ein Erfolg sein. Zwei weitere meiner Lieblings KDramas erfüllt er mit Leben, nämlich das oben bereits erwähnte „Something in the rain“ und „
a piece of your mind“.
3. ich mag die Geschichte, denn auch wenn man in meinem Kulturraum das Hindernis zwischen den Liebenden als nicht ganz so problematisch einstufen würde, sind die Motive der einzelnen Personen sehr gut nachzuvollziehen. Ich würde mir jedenfalls ähnliche Gedanken zum Thema machen, wenn auch anders damit umgehen.

"Talk about finding love in the mundane”
Originally written on Nov 08, 2022One Spring Night has to be one of the most realistic depictions of a relationship in a show that I've ever seen. It's fantastic. Yu Ji-ho, a single father and pharmacist, falls in love with Lee Jeong-in, a librarian who is about to leave her boyfriend. The two begin as friends, but as their feelings for each other grow, it quickly becomes clear this won’t be enough.
The show is the slowest of slow burns, but that’s what makes it so wonderful. We’re seeing a beautiful relationship unfold right before our eyes in the span of 16 hour-long episodes. We see them grow from strangers to friends, from friends to lovers, and from lovers to Jeong-in trying to be a mother to Ji-ho’s son. We see them struggle with Jeong-in’s ex-boyfriend, who’s an entitled dickhead who refuses to leave them alone, not because of his love for Jeong-in, but because he can’t stand the fact that someone else is better for her. We see them fight against a world that isn’t accepting of their relationship for various reasons. But true love always prevails, and it’s a beautiful sight to behold.
While we don’t get to see a much of it, I think my favorite aspect of the show is the relationship between Jeong-in and Eun-u, Ji-ho’s son. The way she embraces him, and in turn showing Ji-ho she’s serious about them, is so heartfelt and warm. It is so well done that I felt like I was watching real people. The ending of episode 13 made water pour down my tear ducts. It healed my soul. So, so good.
One Spring Night falls short of perfection in a couple of ways. The first is the soundtrack. The music in this show is fantastic and perfectly compliments the scenes it’s used in. However, they appear to have only licensed a handful of songs for the entire show, which means you frequently end up hearing the exact same song multiple times throughout an episode, which already gets a little annoying pretty early on in the show. Licensing about 15 minutes of music for 16 hours of television is baffling to me. Then there are the side plots, most of which are fine, but the one between the two fathers is simply boring, and they spend far too much time on it.
What shocked me the most is the storyline about Jeong-in’s father, who knowingly keeps pushing one of Jeong-in’s sisters into the arms of a man who has physically assaulted her multiple times. He’s by far my least favorite character in the show, and I really don’t understand why he’s written this way. It’s pathetic. Yes, your son-in-law is a dentist. He also repeatedly beat up and threatened your daughter. Fuck off. Parents who don’t want happiness for their kids are the worst.
While these flaws keep One Spring Night from being the masterpiece I hoped it would be, I would still wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone looking for an accurate depiction of an adult relationship in a drama show for once. The first spoken sentence in the show is "talk about finding love in the mundane”, and that perfectly encapsulates One Spring Night. This is a story about two normal people who are just trying to love each other against all odds, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

It has its good moments but it moves too slow
A lot of side characters and moving parts and after a while, it just becomes agonizing slow after episode 9. By that point, you could already understand the characters and motivations and what they are going to do. So it's a bit agonizing to watch things develop but no new revelations or anything much new happening.I thought leads acted well and realistically. It's as real as it gets and shows the messiness of relationships and love lost and love won. Pain of losing someone and jealousies and hurt that comes with it.
All the parents are shown as weak, ignorant, or manipulative.
The women are shown as mostly good people for the most part on the screen but damaged by their parents.
The men are shown as damaged, bitter, jealous, controlling, and childish for the most part.
Storyline was pretty good and I was enjoying it up to episode 8 or 9. Then started losing interest... and skipped to episode 16 and watched backwards a bit.
Overall, I think it's a good show.

This is so heartwarming drama , Too many thinkings for relationships.Actor is too good acting , can express full emotions with his eyes , perfect acting!!! Good chemistry between actor and actress in this drama
I watched him since minor role of “Yeah, that’s How it is” of family drama .
I already watched all of his drama series and like him “ one spring night” , D.P , Tune in for love, a piece of your mind .

A slow but worthwhile night in spring
I found this show very difficult to watch initially but persevered because of the upcoming Snowdrop show featuring the same male lead.The premise of this show is beautiful, and socially relevant by flipping the single parent stereotype. But it's a slow-burning show and the crawling pace of developments in the first few episodes really made it difficult for me to get into it. I gave up on the show before coming back and I'm glad I did because after episode 6 it gathered momentum. The pace of the show didn't change much but it had finally entered its meaningful stages of conflict where the storytelling and dialogue were rich in quality.
This show flourished from having excellent stories all round that didn't detract from the show's underlying message, but rather added it to it. This was a story of finding yourself, freeing yourself and doing right by escaping tormenting, abusive and painful relationships. Broken hearts and broken relationships lead to broken people. This show took on conservative norms and ideals and challenged them powerfully whilst being nuanced, empathetic and grittily realistic. There was a lot of beauty found in the small, meaningful dialogues where characters reassured and confided each other, and a lot of power in how they faced up to the reality of the truth regarding the state of their lives and their relationships. This show underlined that relationships do not exist solely on love but respect and reciprocity, and that abuse can be emotional and physical.
For that, I applaud it. It began slowly but it only got better and better with each episode and by the end was a fantastic watch.

Best real life acting
Firstly this is my writing review first time. I have watched 150 + dramas so far but this vibe is just another level my gwad. I want to rewatch it but i am having exams and i am writing this by making sometimeThis drama shows how can attractions take someone to. Its gives you so much meaningful life lessons.

Romance and healing in equal parts
I have not seen SITR so I'm not going to make any comparisons.I could write an essay on this show but I don't want to bore you so I'll keep this short.
This show is not an easy watch. It touched on a number of Korean societal issues. There were relationship breakdowns, familial pressures, prejudices and more. Through finding love and supporting each other did the OTP heal their emotional wounds and find happiness.
The story was beautifully told. It was not hurried but each lull are bracketed by impactful codas. You can take a breather and maybe even enjoy some swoon-worthy moments but you can never let your guards down. It is that underlying tension that lift the show above the pack. It is not a dread in the pit of your stomach but a sense of foreboding as you know that it will not be plain sailing for the leads. And fight they did, to find love, to be allowed to love and to preserve what they won.
Acting of the leads were superb. You feel their sadness, confusion and joy. Even the support case were great. Each have their own story arcs and the sum total of their contribution was certainly great.
Ultimately, it was an enjoyable and satisfying watch. You will feel a bit worn out but it only make the reward that much sweeter.
OST was good. Crafted to suit the drama being played out. Rewatch is a given.

One Of My All Time Favorites
Melodramas are my absolute favorite, but it is very easy to mess up if it is not done right, especially since you need to understand how to pace it to where it is not too slow, and how to write your characters to where they're not too boring. One Spring Night is not one of those dramas at all, in fact, it is one of my favorite dramas of all time and I rewatch it multiple times a year. This show was my introduction to the gift that is Jung Hae-in and for that, I am also forever grateful to the show for introducing me to one of my favorite actors. Now on to the actual review...The pacing of One Spring Night was done so well in that, the conflicts the characters were facing were never rushed, and even while I was impatiently waiting for Ji-ho and Jeong-in to begin their relationship, the will-they won't-they trope actually made sense and wasn't written to be frustrating, but rather heartbreaking. You can see how they struggled to maintain the lives they already had in place while desperately wanting to fit the other in it, and so you just couldn't be annoyed even if you wanted to.
Every character was fully fleshed out, from the leads to Jeong-in's sisters all the way down to her parents. Arguably, I wish we had seen Ji-ho's parents more, but that is just a personal preference due to being attached to the characters and wanting to know everything about them. Anyways, every character had a story to tell and I was never bored with any of them. The writers did an incredible job of giving all the important characters a story all while making sure that our lead characters got most of the spotlight. Every person in this show felt so real, which brings me to my next point.
The actors on here did such a wonderful job portraying their characters, and Han Jimin and Jung Hae-in were so lovely to watch. Their pain, frustration, motivation, and happiness felt so convincing and the characters never strayed away from who they are, even as they grew together. Jeong-in is a headstrong librarian who doesn't believe in Korea's standard of what a household should look like, and she makes that a point by consistently defending Ji-ho as others judge him for being a single father. Ji-ho is a shy pharmacist who struggles with opening up and speaking his mind but has the heart of gold, just like Jeong-in, and has so much love to give. Seeing the way their personalities mesh well together as well as the way they clash was truly the highlight of One Spring Night.
The chemistry between Hae-in and Jimin was so beautiful, it truly brought Jeong-in and Ji-ho's relationship to life, and it is the main reason why I keep coming back to it. The way the characters love one another, support one another, and grow together was so lovely to see and they made each other a better person. Ji-ho showed Jeong-in that she deserves to be loved for who she is and that if she ever feels frustrated or upset with something he does, she can always go to him because she knows he'll listen. Jeong-in shows Ji-ho that he should be confident in himself and not worry about the opinions of others because he is a great man and a great father who deserves all the love in the world. Even when they clash, they're able to come back and talk about their issues, unlike before when they had to keep their love a secret. Now I will say that although their relationship had toxic tendencies in the beginning, the toxicity isn't consistent and they are able to fix that issue once they're able to be open and honest with each other, themselves, and those around them.
If you love melodramas, warm and cozy characters, and a realistic and beautiful storyline, One Spring Night is the perfect show for you. I will always recommend it to those who love the genre and those who want to kick back after a long day and watch something peaceful.
