Best Reincarnation Story To Date!
Until We Meet Again has the best reincarnation storyline I've ever seen between all BL and Het dramas.~~ STORY ~~
UWMA's plot revolves around Dean and Pharm, who are the reincarnations of Korn and Intouch. Korn and Intouch's love story was a tragedy since they were born in a time when homosexuality wasn't widely accepted. In the present day, Dean and Pharm are instantly drawn to each other due to being the reincarnation of Korn and Intouch, yet they struggling to cope with their past lives that still haunts them.
UWMA did amazing portraying how Dean and Pharm's past lives haunt them in the present. Everything that Dean and Pharm do is a result of their past lives. UMWA does a great job at showing the parallels between Intouch and Korn, and Pharm and Dean. Having all four characters being portrayed by four actors instead of just changing the appearance of the two actors for present day and past was a really big help. It really helped drive the fact that yes, they are reincarnations, but they are actually all very different people. The reincarnations plot was really tragic and intense that there was never a dull moment. However, there was a very clean distinction between the moments where the reincarnation plot was happening and other things were happening... And it's not a good distinction.
Any great series would be able to juggle the main plot and side plots, however, UWMA seemed to have a hard time mixing them together. Every time the reincarnation plot was on screen, it was very interesting, but when the plot shifted to just present day Dean and Pharm, just being Dean and Pharm, it was very boring. Dean was a little to stoic and once Korn's influence on him fades, he is boring. Similarly, Pharm's obsession with cooking is just annoying after a while. At first, the cooking is interesting since it has direct relations to Intouch. However, it later just becomes foodporn and really takes away from the story. If Pharm isn't crying over Intouch's influence on him, he only talks about is food and cooking. Even the other characters just start to see him as a food machine, so all they talk about his Pharm's cooking. It's really boring and annoying after a while. Also, using Mannow and all the girls as commercials to advertise their sponsor's beauty product was really unfortunate. Mannow just ended up being a commercial and it really took away from her as a character and the plot. They should have found other ways to advertise discreetly rather than being so obvious about it.
DEAN x PHARM
Dean and Pharm have a really good relationship with each other. Dean respects Pharm's boundaries and never crosses them. He's willing to take things slow and at Pharm's pace. He's also a very supportive and protective boyfriend. Pharm can only think about Dean and is clearly in love with him. Pharm's only real charm point is his cooking, which Dean (and everyone else at the school) when enjoys.
As Korn's reincarnation, Dean feels very sorry to Pharm, which comes out as being more caring and overprotective; all things that Korn couldn't do for Intouch. Dean is the person that Korn wanted to be for his lover.
As Intouch's reincarnation, Pharm is very sensitive. Pharm seems to be more in-tuned to Intouch's feelings and emotions than Dean is to Korn. Pharm sometimes confuses his Intouch's emotions with his own due to his sensitive nature. While Pharm is a better cook than Intouch, Pharm is less likely to take action, while Intouch is more outspoken and quick to act than Pharm.
KORN x INTOUCH
Korn and Intouch's relationship was very sweet and loving before tragedy struck. Intouch was able to bring Korn out of his shell and Korn was able to fall in love and be himself with Intouch. They would have been the ideal couple if their families didn't tear them apart.
After death, Korn feels responsible for Intouch's death and wishes he could have done more to help Korn. He searches for the reincarnation of Intouch to be able to fulfill his promise of finding each other again after they die. Intouch, on the other hand, blames Korn for giving up on them.
WIN x TEAM
Win is the vice-captain of the swim club and Dean's friend. Team is Pharm's friend and on the swim team. Team is very awkward and a bit childish. Win has a thing for Team as soon as he laid eyes on Team. Win tends to flirt and tease Team constantly. Their storyline is very cute, but they progress very quickly and it's very clear that things are happening in the background that we aren't seeing. They will get a spin-off called Between Us which will explain their relationship.
~~ ACTING ~~
The acting is amazing!!!!!
Fluke, Ohm, Earth, Kao really set the bar high for BL actors. They definitely were not hired for their pretty faces. All four actors were able to portray the complexity of their characters naturally.
Kao (Korn) and Earth (Intouch) are the best actors of the series in my opinions. Some might say Fluke (Pharm) was the best, but I found that all he did was cry. The other scenes with him weren't as eye catching compared to his crying scenes. Kao and Earth's scenes were very emotional and were the most complex. Their scenes in the flashbacks were the diving factors of the plot, so despite having very few scenes compared to Fluke and Ohm, they were able to make a statement. I cried every time they were on screen.
All four actors were amazing, but I did find that Ohm was the weakest out of the four main characters. He was able to cry on cue, but he didn't really invoke as much emotion from me compared to Kao, Earth, and Fluke.
~~ OVERALL ~~
UWMA isn't perfect, but it is a must watch. If you can get past the food scenes and Mannow's obvious product placement advertisement, then it's a really good drama. The way they did the reincarnation plotline is what really makes this series a must watch drama!

Eu passei essa série inteira tentando encontrar um defeito, mas sendo honesta, não encontrei nenhum significativo, tanto que já revi várias vezes e sempre sinto a mesma emoção. Eu tive um pouco de resistência a assistir pois não curto histórias de amor com temas que envolvem o sobrenatural, acho que fica muito irreal e longe da realidade, mas nesse caso a história foi tão bem elaborada, tão bem dirigida, que nos envolve, nos faz sentir cada dor, chorar junto com eles e até acreditar que tudo isso é possível de acontecer na realidade (quem sabe né?). Se vc acha que o elenco perfeito não existe, ainda não assistiu UWMA, cada ator se encaixou perfeitamente em seu papel, com certeza a direção do gênio P'New tem muito a ver com isso. Outro ponto de destaque é a trilha sonora, com destaque para Boy Sompob, que mais uma vez fez um trabalho brilhante com as canções. Sem mais, recomendo essa série sem medo, os protagonistas dão um show de interpretação e a história, apesar do ambiente universitário, não envolve os tradicionais medicina X engenharia, além de fazer com que a universidade não seja o pano de fundo mais importante.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

NICE BUT SLOW-PACED
I have only watched this BL series in 2023, as recommended by a friend. I liked the first few episodes, but as it gets towards the end, it somehow seemed to become a bit boring, or moving in circles that never seemed to end. The scenes of In and Korn in particular could have been edited, instead of making them too long and moving slowly. We already got the message that they committed suicide because their parents disapproved and scenes of their love story seemed to be dragging a lot, that I fast-forwarded these scenes.Apart from that I like the acting of all actors/actresses, lead as well as supporting ones. As long as the story goes, it is unique. It didn't make the story line creepy, knowing that Pharm and Dean were reincarnations of Korn and In. I can understand the stresses and anxiety that both go through when they have nightmares or flashbacks of their past lives, but do we still need this on the last episode? There were many twists about each other's families (not knowing grandma, not knowing uncle, not knowing cousin), it would be nicer if the last episode was made into a happy family reunion, or reconciliation if you may, of both lead characters, instead of just having the two say they love each other. What about the planned trip to the USA? It would be a much nicer happy ending, showing the two ready to make that trip.
One burning question I have, since I do no know that much about reincarnations, if Dean consciously knows that In is his grandmothers brother, and Pharm consciously feels he is In, wouldn't this seem to be kind of a incestuous relationship? Also if In consciously knows that Korn is his uncle, then falling in love with Dean (who feels that he is Korn) is also sort of incestuous. But anyway, I just took it lightly and thought, oh well this series is for entertainment only, so no need to think deeply about it.

Dull Plot and Lackluster Writing Prevented Me From Loving It :(
STORY:I really, really wanted to like this drama because (1) I generally enjoy New's work and (2) I loved the theme of reincarnation and being reunited with one's soulmate after passage of time. Unfortunately, very early on I found that I was forcing myself to watch each episode, and it felt like a chore. Despite the interesting premise, the drama itself was rather dull, tedious, and boring (except for a few parts where it was excessively melodramatic). I hated the writing: scenes were repetitive, dialogue was largely trivial and shallow and often accompanied by long bouts of silence that did absolutely nothing to move the story forward, the pacing was bad (too slow), and the plot dragged on without accomplishing much. That said, I suppose you could characterize this as tending to be more character-driven (though that may just be a nice way of saying the plot is weak); I prefer plot-driven shows with deft character development, so whether you like this drama or not may depend in part on preference.
ACTING/CAST:
As typically happens in Thai BLs, there were hits and misses with the cast with the more seasoned actors performing more naturally and organically than the newer faces. No standouts to me, but none were absolutely terrible.
OVERALL:
I may slowly try to pick this up again, but as of right now, I made it about halfway through before deciding it was too dull and poorly written for me. If all you watch are Thai BLs, you may not have as much issue with this one as I did; but if you, as I, tend to also watch different types of dramas from different countries, such as China or especially Korea (which, in my opinion, generally fare better in terms of overall quality), then you may find this one lackluster.

The cast is quite likeable, but the characters not so much.. Fluke is a really really good actor but I personally can't stand Pharm..
Lastly, the ads. Most BL's have them but UWMA couldn't incorporate them well into the story and I cringe every time they come up..
In conclusion I think it's a very overhyped BL that I don't think I will be continuing since there are other ones airing at the same time that are a lot more worth watching imo than this one.

Một thể loại truyện mà mình cực kỳ yêu thích chính là trùng sinh/ kiếp trước kiếp này. Nguyên nhân thì không rõ cho lắm, có thể là vì mình thích cái gì đó liên quan đến tâm linh, gắn kết, nhân quả một chút.
Một lần tình cờ thấy trích đoạn ngắn trên Ken CTV thì mình đã lập tức xách mông đi xem tập 1 và 2 của Until We Meet Again (UWMA) và tiếp đó mình còn quyết định đọc thử tiểu thuyết gốc. Không dễ dàng như đọc đam mỹ chút nào, bởi nếu nó là bản tiếng Trung thì mình có thể tự convert ra để đọc, đằng này tiếng Thái với mình khác gì một đám giun quằn quại đâu T^T. Thật may mắn là mình đã tìm thấy bản dịch tiếng Anh và thế là nhờ phim mà mình có động lực dùng vốn Engrishhh ít ỏi để cày cuốc 29 chương truyện.

Tất nhiên, vì muốn các bạn xem phim và trải nghiệm với từng phút giây nên phần tóm tắt ấy thực tế không phản ánh đủ nội dung phim, nó chỉ giúp bạn hiểu hơn về timeline cũng như mạch phim thôi. Một điểm cực kỳ đáng khen cho phim Boylove Thái đó là việc chuyển thể vô cùng chi tiết từ nội dung cho tới lời thoại, với mình, nếu phim chuyển thể BL Thái Lan nếu nhận số 2 về mức độ chi tiết thì chắc không ai dám nhận số 1 mất. Nội dung của UWMA là điểm rất sáng, yếu tố cảm xúc, chiều sâu và cả hường phấn, học đường đều hội tụ đủ.
Đương nhiên nếu bạn thử đọc tiểu thuyết thì với một người đọc truyện lâu năm sẽ cảm thấy lối viết của tác giả còn chới với lắm, ấy vậy nhưng nó lại vẫn có một sức hút khá đặc biệt đối với những ai mang tâm hồn thiếu nữ giống mình xD. Tóm gọn lại, về nội dung phim mình đánh giá tương đối cao, nhiệt liệt đề cử tới các bạn.
No.2: Love at the first sight…
Ngay trích đoạn đầu tiên nhìn thấy thì mình đã xác định được rằng mình rơi vào lưới tình của đôi trẻ này rồi. Đó là cảnh hai nhân vật chính gặp nhau lần đầu tiên trong siêu thị, bạn thụ Pharm chỉ nhìn vào ánh mắt của P’Dean thôi thì cũng đã rưng rưng chực khóc, sau đó là bùng nổ tuôn trào nước mắt một cách rất tự nhiên. Dean cũng luôn chăm chú nhìn lại cậu bằng một ánh mắt ấp ủ ngàn vạn lời muốn nói. Mình thích ngay từ giây phút ấy cho nên vội vã đi tìm phim để xem… để rồi….
Một sự cuồng nhiệt không hề nhỏ nơi đây!
Phim mở đầu bằng một phân cảnh có thể lập tức nhấn chìm mình trong nước mắt với cái chết của Korn và In, không dám chắc vào đánh giá của bản thân cho lắm vì mình không có chuyên môn nhưng những gì hai diễn viên ấy thể hiện ra đã đủ cho mình.
Đủ đau thương, đủ khắc khoải, đủ quyến luyến, đủ bế tắc và đủ yêu thương. Diễn viên đóng vai Korn đẹp trai muốn rụng rời tay chân, vẻ đẹp mà nhìn cái là thấy đẹp ngay từ giây phút đầu tiên ngó trúng ấy =))) Còn bạn đóng vai In thì khá quen thuộc từ phim Love by chance năm ngoái, năm nay bạn ấy cũng nhập vai khá tốt, có chút xíu xiu mình chưa đánh giá cao cơ mà bạn ấy dễ thương lắm lắm lắm và lối diễn cũng tự nhiên lắm lắm.
Về diễn viên đóng vai chính Pharm – Fluke, chắc hẳn bạn ấy quá quen thuộc với những ai yêu thích phim Thái rồi ha, từ thời Bromance, Red wine in the dark night thì mình đã phải công nhận diễn xuất của Fluke rồi. Mình đang đón chờ Bromance phần 2 của Fluke thì đùng một cái thấy bạn ấy trong phim này. Còn gì nữa mà phải lo lắng khi một vai diễn ‘khó nhằn’ như Pharm giao cho Fluke. Những giằng xé, đau khổ trong tâm trí cũng như những cảnh khóc lên bờ xuống ruộng hay kể cả phân đoạn dễ thương thì cho tới tập gần đây nhất (ep 6) bạn ấy đã thể hiện quá xuất sắc. Fluke khiến mình có cảm giác những gì đã đọc trong tiểu thuyết được diễn dịch từng chữ từng chữ lên màn ảnh nhỏ vậy.
Đối với diễn viên đóng vai Dean – Ohm trong phim thì là cả một sự mâu thuẫn trong chính bản thân mình khi nhìn nhận anh ấy (người ta nhỏ hơn nha, nhưng mà thích P’Dean nên gọi anh đấy thì sao nào =))). Đây là kiểu diễn viên mà với mình không phải nhìn cái là thấy đẹp, nói đúng ra lúc đẹp lúc là lạ, thế nhưng Ohm lại cuốn hút ngay từ cái nhìn đầu tiên. Ánh mắt quá tuyệt, vừa si tình, vừa có chút gian manh lại không thiếu đi bá đạo lạnh lùng.
Thực tế thì mình bị cuốn hút bởi một số diễn viên có nét đẹp gây tranh cãi như này, và câu cửa miệng của mình thường là “ổng xấu hoắc nhưng mà tui mê chết đi được”.
Nhận xét khách quan thì Ohm không hề xấu nha, cao ráo, đô con, mặt mũi mắt đều nét, chỉ là về tổng thể thì nhìn anh ấy cứ gây cảm giác khó tả kiểu gì ấy. NHƯNG, dù ở ep 1 vai Dean chỉ xuất hiện lúc thì thoáng qua, lúc thì chút xíu, và chỉ được đặc tả ở phân đoạn hồ bơi khi anh trông thấy Pharm. Cảm giác khi ấy của mình là gì? Quá sức tuyệt vời! Chỉ bằng một ánh nhìn ngây ngẩn, rơm rớm, chăm chú lặng thinh nhưng đã đủ để thể hiện được hết ngàn vạn lời chất chứa ẩn sâu bên trong. Thực tế thì mình không dám chắc diễn như vậy là xuất sắc hay chưa, nhưng cái quan trọng nhất diễn viên mang tới cho mình chính là cảm xúc, mang tới một nét diễn dễ chịu để mình cứ muốn nhìn hoài, ngắm hoài, coi hoài.
Nếu nói về các nhân vật phụ nữa thì bài viết dài quá nên mình sẽ tạm bỏ qua nha :(((

Tới tận ep 6 thì biểu tượng (tên của truyện) mới được xuất hiện và làm rõ ý nghĩa của nó, cũng như cảnh kiss đầu tiên mà biết bao nhiêu con dân ngóng chờ. Sợi chỉ đỏ mang tới cho mình một cảm giác yêu thích đến mức nổi da gà. Nó là thứ gắn kết hai linh hồn yêu nhau tìm về bên nhau, cũng là thứ định mệnh bền chắc mà những con người ấy chẳng thể tách rời được.
Khi Korn và In tự sát, sợi chỉ đỏ buộc trên ngón tay út của hai người đã dẫn dắt họ tìm nhau trong kiếp sau. Điều khiến trái tim mình run lên lúc xem Trailer của bộ phim đó là người buộc sợi chỉ đỏ này lại cũng chính là tác nhân đã đẩy hai chàng trai trẻ kia rơi vào bi kịch. Một tiếng khóc nức nở bi thương của kẻ đầu bạc tiễn kẻ đầu xanh lại làm mình run rẩy và đau đớn. Có lẽ tới khi phân cảnh này thực sự diễn ra trên phim, khi mà cả Pharm và Dean đều tìm lại kí ức nguyên vẹn của kiếp trước thì mình sẽ ôm bịch khăn giấy ra chuẩn bị sẵn cho một màn nước mắt tràn trề. Rất rất mong chờ được khóc cùng với họ!
No.4: Love is in the air
Có thể nói đã xem qua khá nhiều bộ phim BL, hiển nhiên cũng có nhiều cặp đôi gây ra sóng ngầm mãnh liệt trong tim nhưng có lẽ Ohm và Fluke là CP đầu tiên khiến trái tim ‘thiếu nữ thừa nam’ này hoàn toàn hưởng thụ cái gọi là ‘tình yêu ngập tràn nơi nơi’. Điểm hạ gục mình đầu tiên tất nhiên là chênh lệch chiều cao giữ CP chính, một khoảng cách quá đẹp, quá lý tưởng. Tiếp đó chính là cách Ohm quan tâm, săn sóc Fluke, cách nhìn, cách chia sẻ và cả thái độ ngượng ngùng xấu hổ của Fluke mỗi khi hai bạn fanservice.
Tất nhiên mình không điên cuồng tới mức đòi họ phải yêu nhau nhưng mình cực kỳ thích chemistry mà hai người này tạo nên trong mỗi thước phim, trong mỗi một moment ngoài đời, trong ánh mắt, trong nụ cười. Thật sự ao ước được vẽ nên câu chuyện màu hồng hơn nữa sau bộ phim này hahaha
No.5: Love is a rhythm of two hearts beating
Nếu bỏ qua yếu tố nhạc phim thì sẽ là thiếu sót rất lớn. Mình thuộc hết giai điệu của tất cả các bản nhạc phim rồi và dĩ nhiên bản nhạc mình thích nhất chính là tình ca của đôi chính Until we meet again (Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LALvqVf-JYw )

Trong phim có một bản nhạc không lời rất buồn, rất não nề mà mình chưa tìm ra được lồng ghép ở các phân đoạn buồn hay đau thương cũng rất ám ảnh. Bao giờ cũng vậy, âm nhạc luôn là yếu tố không thể tách rời khỏi phim ảnh, nó góp phần thúc đẩy cảm xúc, tạo nên đỉnh điểm cao trào và dẫn dắt người xem theo mạch cảm xúc của nhân vật. Nghe nói list nhạc phim lên tới con số hàng chục, tính sơ sơ chắc cũng đã xuất hiện 6-7 bài nhạc rồi đó.
No.6: Love is promise
Lời hứa làm món trứng chiên từ kiếp trước của In, kiếp này Pharm đã hoàn thành nó.
Lời hứa sẽ tìm ra nhau bằng bất cứ giá nào của Korn trong kiếp trước, kiếp này Dean đã thực hiện được.
Với sự lồng ghép những phân cảnh quá khứ đan xen với hiện tại đã khiến cho mạch phim dễ hiểu, giàu cảm xúc và chặt chẽ hơn rất nhiều. Đây là sự liên kết yếu tố trước – sau, kiếp trước – kiếp này một cách đơn giản, dễ hiểu và cũng đả động vào tâm trạng người xem một cách trực tiếp nhất.
Mỗi một lời hứa ngọt ngào không chỉ còn là bi thương của kiếp trước mà còn là bình yên trong kiếp này.
No.7: Love is finding a way back into love
Nếu những ký ức còn quay trở lại, em sẽ chọn nhớ về những điều tốt đẹp, để ngày mai trái tim được hạnh phúc hơn…”
Vì đã đọc tiểu thuyết nên mình biết trước được cái kết, đạo diễn và biên kịch có thay đổi thêm bớt hay không là điều chưa ai dám chắc, thế nhưng sẽ có những plot mà mình nghĩ nhất định P’New sẽ giữ lại và tạo nên mạch phim hấp dẫn. Nhất là vấn đề về thân thế trong kiếp này, sự ràng buộc với kiếp trước và chi tiết hai nhân vật chính tìm lại căn phòng nơi hai người đã tự sát năm xưa vào cùng một ngày mưa tầm tã.
Có lẽ không nên tiết lộ nhèo nhưng đảm bảo sẽ đủ bất ngờ cho người xem đó ^^

Tất nhiên phim chưa thể hoàn mỹ, nó sẽ còn một chút sạn, một vài nhân vật diễn xuất chưa đủ tự nhiên, và điểm mình hơi thất vọng chính là mảng edit, có rất nhiều khoảng lặng giữa lời thoại khiến cho mạch phim cứ có vẻ như bị chậm, bị giãn ra quá nhiều. Anw, không có gì là hoàn hảo và tình yêu của mình dành cho UWMA hiện vẫn ngự trị ngôi đầu=)))

Well, first of all...Until We Meet Again was my first BL.
I'm glad this one was my first BL, as I slowly learned more, beginning with one cute.

The plot was pretty interesting, I like series/films with Reincarneted people/lovers.
I also have to admit that it made me cry sometimes in some episodes. It was heartbreaking.

I must say it, I actually liked more the second couple.
I find them a "better couple" in the series. The main couple seems kinda awkward. I like heights differences, but the mains was too much.

Watch this only if you have nothing else to watch.
Watch this BL only if you have nothing else to watch. This one is a strict one time watch with one finger firmly placed on the skip button throughout. I think the Seme's acting or appearance might have won my over or the reincarnation theme made me curious - otherwise I have no clue why I kept watching this. Seriously - i think it's because i had nothing else to watch (until i watched a lovely toxic 2 parter from Gloomy Salad (2010) ep13 & 14)The main problem w Until We Meet again is the couple gets together way too quick, i usually like a slow burn - i think everybody does - watch a relationship develop, i prefer a will they-won't they pattern - but here they skip the burn & it's just a waiting game for the reincarnation story to come full circle in the end. So whoever wrote this script or novel, I don't know why they thought people would keep turning the pages. Or maybe this is poorly adapted?
Finally, when it does reach that full circle point, it isn't a rewarding moment becuase there there weren't really any hurdles in this story at all - so storywise, there's not much a story here ... which is why kept skipping ... it's just passing time till the end. All this has is a reincarnation theme that is used to explain their unexplainable attraction, but it's otherwise not used to its full potential cuz trust me reincarnation is a popular theme is south asain movies, this didn't even come close.
Some other issues I had was the ukke isn't attractive but the Seme's looks do grow on u.
Also, the ukke's character is s just perfect at everything, his personality is too pleasantly perfect with a faux wide smile fixed on his face- it's too flat & unreal - i don't see the point of it. Being a good cook is not a character trait imo. Add to that the ukke cries a lot in this, and I mean a lot and it's unintentionally comedic, and they cue in this romantic track whenever he's having all these feels - i don't mind cheesiness but i was finding it legit funny
