Exceeded essential amount of episodes
1. Not too many positives about this story except two love triangles which both deserves more development.2. Annoying voice of lead actress in some parts.
3. Confusing jumping from scene to scene with no near explanation. And the effort of "main" characters to change the comic story, sometimes successfully and sometimes not.
4. Overcombined storyline.
5. Way too many episodes and exceeding story which is frustrating and later on it will make you bored.

My most favorite drama ever!
This is my 50th time watching it always tops my list Whenever i feel low, i watch this drama and i easily forget abt the surroundings and started to laugh with them cry etc moments. Nowadays i feel none of them making nyc rom-com series like this one, true beauty, CLOY,DOTS ,Snowdrop, My love from another star,WWWSK ,etc many more. Idk when we will get nice romantic kdrama again so i am rewatching all the classic series once again. Really had a lot of fun through the journey on the series.
Highly recommended for anyone wanting an exciting, dramatic, touching story with very lovable cast of character.
I got really hook up into the series just as quick as 20 minutes into the first episode.
You should really give a chance to this series .

this kdrama is everything honestly. I watched with average expectations of a light school drama but gosh I am so invested in the story line. the romances have the perfect amount of cuteness that makes you giggle and kicking your feet lol. when the character cry I just cant help but cry harder TT-TT. If the story and acting was good?
It was super drama...especially the cast and rowoon was extraordinary...I liked this drama very much...watched it repeatedly 3 times...I actually don't like to watch anything twice...but I liked this drama a lot...rowoon acted extraordinarily and his visuals were mind blowing...I can watch him all day...all the other members also acted so well...overall I like the drama....I loved it ...rowoon was extraordinary...I hope he acts in many many more dramas....It was super drama...especially the cast and rowoon was extraordinary...I liked this drama very much...watched it repeatedly 3 times...I actually don't like to watch anything twice...but I liked this drama a lot...rowoon acted extraordinarily and his visuals were mind blowing...I can watch him all day...all the other members also acted so well...overall I like the drama

So this kept showing up on my Netflix recommendations and I kept skipping over it because the name sounded so boring. But then when I read the synopsis I was hooked. I had to watch it. Story - I love the ideology behind the story and the conceptualization of the storyline. The idea of becoming self-aware that you are actually a character in a comic book, and then everyone having to come to terms with the fact they are not actually the protagonist, or even an important character. I loved that.
Do-Hwa is probably my favorite character in this show. Him and Dried Squid Elf. He was just so cute and adorable. With his "I'm gonna give up on you, but I can't, but I'll support you from the sidelines, why must I play this stupid violin" "OMG this is so cheesy" and he's so cheesy! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH! HE IS SO CUTE! SOOOO CUTE!!
DSE was so cute too. With his cryptic yoda-ing, and the way he's cold to Gyeong. And the way he's secretive and dodgy. I love it. I love how protective he is of YKW. I'm so glad she came at the end. <3
Gyeong is my second favorite character. Second-lead syndrome it is real! Although, I totally get not rooting for him. I wasn't in the beginning, but when I started to realize that he was being self-aware. When I started to realize that he did actually love Dan Oh, but was stuck in the role he had to play. In the Shadow is when we see how frustrated he is by the fact that his father is using Dan Oh for her money, and using her sickness and her affection for Gyeong to his advantage. In the Shadow we see how much Gyeong is suffering. How much he doesn't want to lose Dan Oh like he's lost everyone he loves, like his mom. The reason he hates the hospital is because he watched his mother suffer and die there. And now he's watching the woman he loves do the same. It's so sad. I actually love Gyeong and his suffering so much. And I usually don't like the tragic boys who don't like to talk and hurt the girls they love. But Lee Jae Wook was adorable. I totally felt everything he was putting down. I love his story with his brother - I wish they expanded more on that. I wanted more. That was such a sweet ending for them. I'm glad they have each other even if they have a horrid father.
Dan Oh was annoying! At least in the first few episodes. And then later on when she refused to listen to what Gyeong had to say, and she just kept talking over him. But I guess I can understand where she's coming from, when you're constantly never given a voice, and you're having to shove your feminist side down because of external factors, and then you're finally allowed to be yourself. It's freeing. But she grows on you. And I really love how strong she is.
Ha Ru was my least favorite character. I mean I get it. Love has the power to transcend the will of the writer and all that junk. But oh gosh. When he was a background character his arc made sense. When he was an "extra" like Dan Oh and Dried Squid Elf, his arc no longer made sense with the whole "he can change my story" thing. Because then he was a character in the book. He was no longer a nameless, background character who could do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted. It made no sense. Whatever.
Overall. I loved the idea of it. Execution was mediocre. I loved the whole idea of the two books thing.
I loved the peripheral characters like the best friend of Dan Oh who was also the bully of Yeo Ju Da, because she seems like she would have been a nice girl, but then she's a total B**ch.

this drama broke my heart and glued it back together...
I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed Extraordinary You! It was a bit of a surprise just how much too. Now I do I love stories that deal with meta things, and characters in a comic becoming self-aware fits the bill perfectly. But I really wasn’t sure what kind of story this would be or what tone it would have, and aside from Kim Hye Yoon, I wasn’t very familiar with most of the other main actors.Extraordinary You is a very easy watch. It is bright and fun with plenty of humor. The comic world is portrayed as a stereotypical romantic comedy, so that is ripe for all kinds of jokes to poke fun at the classic tropes we all know.
When Dan Oh finally becomes self-aware, she goes through a lot of confusion and emotions. Not only does she find out she is a character and has no control over her own fate, but she’s not even the lead. She’s just an extra! She was then able to see how cringy the comic story and all of the parts being played were.
I loved delving into the rules of how the comic world operated. I thought it was really interesting how when a character became aware, they still had to follow the script set forth by the writer whether or not they wanted to. They were compelled to play out the scenes.
But when a scene ended, there was a space called the Shadow which took place in between the scenes. This is where the characters had freedom. And Dan Oh uses that freedom to try to change the story and her fate.
I really loved Dan Oh and Ha Ru’s relationship. It was super sweet with plenty of heart as they struggled to beat the story and be together. But their actions have consequences as the comic world begins to change in unexpected ways. They have to face some major trials in their attempt to be together. Their love story was a great mix of cute fun and low-key angst.
Then there’s Baek Kyung, the man that Dan Oh is engaged to in the story. I had a lot of negative feelings towards this character. He really is a complete jerk in every way and was always so mean to Dan Oh. For most of the drama, I just couldn’t feel for him.
Extraordinary You also had a very serious side as characters are really put through the ringer. They deal with separation, helplessness, and life and death stakes. Learning the back story behind the characters and the comic was really fascinating.
It’s a hard battle going up against an all powerful writer, but even when the characters had limitations, they made the best of them. Seeing their friendship, growth, independence, and determination was very inspiring. Dan Oh and Ha Ru in particular really fought for what they wanted in their lives, and no matter what they faced, they never gave up on each other.
Extraordinary You was perfect in every way. I loved the characters and the world that they inhabited. It was all kinds of fun with lots of heart. I had such a wonderful time watching it.

Tugs at the heart
This starts off as a send up of Boys Over Flowers. There's the poor scholarship girl at a prestigious private school who is bullied. F4 is now A3. There's even a guy who sheds a tear while playing his violin in public spaces.But then the students at Seuli High School start to figure out that they are characters in a graphic novel. A writer controls what they say or do. Most of them are horrified when they learn they aren't even one of the main characters. That's when this parody of K-drama rom-coms turns into a bittersweet reflection on fate, memory, and autonomy.
Extraordinary You made me giggle, and it made me cry, which doesn't happen too often.

Entertaining Drama
This is one of my favourite korean drama. I decided to watch this when i first heard LJW was gonna be in. I was a fan of him since he acted in Memories of Alhambra. As more episodes goes by, i started to enjoy the drama because of KHY. She was a very refreshing cast in the drama. She brings comedy to this drama in which if they were to cast someone else, ngl its gonna be plain as hell. She is dramatic but at the same time we could relate to how she acted.I like how she plays the positive but sick FL with a sad background. Tbh it fits her and i can’t name anyone else who can do better. All i could say was i enjoyed this drama because of her. The other casts are fine but as compared to her i could say she really did an amazing job here.

loved the drama but it got boring in the middle
While I was looking to watch a historical drama, Someone said extraordinary you is one but it doesn't have that many historical things so I planned on watching it. The beginning got me kinda excited but during the middle, it got a bit boring. Also in the end I really have no idea what happened to Baekkyung after graduation like they just removed him out and focused on Eun Dan-oh, what was the point of doing that? But overall I loved the entire drama! If someone told me to rewatch it, I definitely would but a few episodes in the middle are pretty boring.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Perfect Story within a Story Drama w/a great love triangle
Just rewatched for the feels. If you love the story w/in a story trope (one of my favorites) you will be satisfied with this drama & if something hit you right, then it could be an almost perfect drama for you, like it was for me. The synopsis here is pretty solid: she discovers she's a character (an "extra" character, mind you) in a story, who at times has no control of her words & actions & at other times, does. It seems like this aware personality is quite different than the storybook one. It's not a spoiler because you discover all of this in the 1st 3 episodes! ;) Of course, the rest of the drama plays out this tension between determined fate & the efforts of free will in a fun, magical way that feels fresh. There seem to be a lot of dramas in the last few years with this isekai-style story & this is a top favorite of mine.:D
1.) story w/in a story where characters become aware of themselves in parallel storylines
2.) best dang 2nd lead bad boy next to Segi & the one from True Beauty (excellent use of the love triangle trope here)
3.) production quality & OST = A+
4.) sci-fi/fantasy feel with some of the visual effects
5.) manga cross-over done RIGHT
6.) good pacing w/transition scenes & fluidity of plot (well-told story)
7.) it got me to enjoy a "School drama" again; it's been a while...
8.) that being said above, lots of playfuless & satire w/the F4 concept as well as drama cliches in general
9.) some mystery mixed in w/the personal growth mantra; so many twists & turns in this plot; it kept you guessing
10.) it's soooooooo cheeseballs at times & I LOVE it
11.) the FL is outgoing & spunky! Fun to watch (though some Viki users disagreed & found her annoying, not sure why!)
Great story! If you like any or most of the ab0ve, give this one a shot. It will definitely hook you & keep you hooked!

Romántica serie juvenil
Mi primera romántica serie juvenil coreana asĂ que puede que esta crĂtica no sea muy justa, ya que no tengo con que comparar este tipo de series.EmpecĂ© a ver esta serie porque es una de las que siempre aparecen en las listas de recomendadas y a pesar de que el estilo juvenil/adolescente no es lo mĂo, siempre prefiero historias con personajes más adultos, ha sido una serie muy agradable de ver, pero poco más.
La historia es bastante interesante. Tenemos una joven con una enfermedad en el corazón que está completamente enamorada de un amigos de la infancia desde hace diez años. Ambos pertenecen a familias ricas y están comprometidos. Pero ella empieza a ver cosas raras. Al final descubre que es un personaje secundario de una novela gráfica y que sus acciones y discurso está determinado por lo que decida el autor de la novela. Pero ella no quiere ese destino. A medida que pasa el tiempo más personajes que conocen la verdad se unen a su grupo.
Lo que me atrajo de esta serie fue su corte paranormal, sinceramente despuĂ©s de leer bastante manga y novelas gráficas en la web pues pensaba que podĂa encontrarme ante una serie que podĂa tener un desarrollo muy interesante, pero al final no ha sido asĂ. Si tuviera que resumir sus capĂtulos dirĂa que va Eun Dan Oh, una estudiante de diecisiete años comprometida con Baek Kyung, quien la odia, y que descubre un dĂa que es un personaje de un tebeo y que acaba enamorándose de un personaje muy secundario. Y no hay nada más. Los capĂtulos van contando la historia de los personajes principales de la novela -la parte de la escena- en la que nadie es libre de hacer lo que quiera, con la parte de las sombras, en donde los que son conscientes del mundo en que viven pueden actuar libremente. Lo curioso es que si quitas la parte fantástica la trama principal no cambiarĂa mucho, y eso se aprecia ya en los capĂtulos finales, en donde hay momentos en lo que no ocurre nada más que los protagonistas mirándose con ojos de enamorados y poco más. Todo muy tierno y dulce.
Como serie romántica juvenil es una gozada, tiene el tĂpico triángulo que hace todo más entretenido, pero como tĂpico triángulo ya sabes como acabará todo. Luego están los tĂpicos guaperas del colegio de ricos, la niña que tiene una beca, la niña rica enamorada del guaperas jefe... Y ahĂ otra vez volvemos a lo más caracterĂstico de este gĂ©nero. Hay que echar un vistazo a algĂşn manga de este gĂ©nero para saber cĂłmo va discurrir todo. A pesar de que ya cual será el final desde el comienzo las grandes interpretaciones hacen que te enganches a la serie. Kim Hye Yoon está estupenda, y sĂ, tiene esa voz tan chillona que es a la vez graciosa e irritante. Es una gran actriz con un buen registro tanto en drama lloroso como el comedia, pero no sĂ© si se verá limitada por esa voz tan peculiar en el futuro. El tiempo lo dirá. Ro Woon, cantante de grupo pop metido a actor, es demasiado guapo lo mires por donde lo mires; hace un buen papel pero creo que en ocasiones está demasiado rĂgido y parece un maniquĂ, aunque puede que sea por exigencias del guion porque en otros momentos hace una más que correcta interpretaciĂłn. El resto del elenco, bien. Mi preferido ha sido Lee Jae Wook, que hace del prometido de la protagonista, me quedo con Ă©l sin duda.
En tĂ©rminos generales me ha gustado la serie. Buen drama lloroso que te deja con buenas sensaciones y con un final más que correcto. Pero como serie fantástica olvĂdate porque no es buena, este elemento solo sirve para dar sufrimiento a los protagonistas y para alguna que otra escena graciosa o dramática pero poco más.
