“Open Your Eyes”
Well, it is true that Maya’s lessons are realistically needed for the future of the students and how they would navigate their surroundings in the future. The narrative of the story where it focuses on Maya prioritizing her students mainly causes a heartwarming touch to the narrative. But most of the time and episodes, gave me an unsettling and uncomfortable watch. Mainly because the drama focuses on the harsh truth of society brought upon to these growing children. The system is insensitive, unhealthy, and encourages bashful eye-opener for the sake of learning. Nevertheless, the ending made me shed many tears, especially because school/youth dramas are my cup of tea.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
YOU NEED TO WATCH THE SPECIAL EPISODES
Finished this a long time ago, but I'm missing this drama, so here we go.First of all, I have always been a really awful-performing student, so I can't help but hate this drama at first.
I couldn't finish the first episode and put it on hold for months. One day tho I decided to force myself to finish this drama (Motivation: Queen Amami-san + I was interested in how the production team communicated the mood of the scenes.. those cinematic aspects).
As I watched more episodes, I started to understand why Maya-sensei acted that way. However, I still can't agree to it. However, however, after I finished the two special episodes, I finally could understand.
I cry and smile a lot during the drama, it was a beautiful experience. And the ending scene.... I cry x smile at the same time.
