Zombie Kid

Best episode so far! The highlight for me was Kang-Tae reading the book:"Mom, you're so warm."Holy shit, I'm in tears. Also, the OST was just perfect

Omg emotional ride

I think I cried through most this episode. ?Gang-Tae being specifically born to be a built in caretaker of his Older Brother Sang-Tae, just broke me. I know sometimes parents have a second child when their first has special needs (sn) one to take care of the one with sn in future but at least lot of parents like that at least show love to both children. Gang-Tae’s mother was constantly treating him like the help. Moon Young is messed up, it was nice to get an idea why she is way she is. It seems her mother might’ve suffered from mental illness and there was no one there to stop her from hurting her daughter cause of it. ?

Reality of having a mental disability and why some have them

Its the reality that many of us experience mental issues because of the hypocrites that are standing beside us. It could be our families or our closest friends or our loved ones. I want to highlight that the most touching part for me in this episode is how they explicably show that. Many people say that its okay to experience pain, but what if pain stems from something as a result of neglect, isolation, and rejection? How do we keep preventing this things, how do we lessen the pain? How do we share our selves so that we can make a difference in a world full of pain?

Contains spoilers

Ko Moon-young = Ko, Moon Gang-tae = Moon, Moon Sang-tae = Sang, Nam Ju-ri = Juri, Lee Sang-in = CEO, Yoo Seung-jae = ArtD, Jo Jae-soo = Friend, Oh Ji-wang = President, Kang Soon-deok = LandladyStarting from the time the patient’s mom yelled, it is so true that that’s how some parents yell and mostly because they can’t control their own emotions and they just dump it on children not knowing what else to do.Ko’s dialogues are always hitting the bull’s eye haha. This time it was like how we humans are like products with expire date is to true. Most of us treat other people the same way. There is nothing like unconditional love. There is always expectation and you want something out of another person and when they don’t meet it, you discard them. It is hard to find people who will not do that like it’s either person is super close to you and be there for you all the time and expect the same from them or it’s a superficial relationship. But the Gang’s dialogue of why children need to be useful and the way politician responded was such a trigger for Gang because his mom told him that he was born to take care of his brother. Man.. this shows will surely bring up lots of emotions to lot of people..We can see that even though the Juri is a nurse, she dislikes Ko because of her ASPD. She knows it’s not her fault but the contrast between Juri and Gang in terms of accepting Ko for who she is even though both work in the mental health profession depicts how in real-life too, when personal emotions gets mixed up, we end up seeing black and white rather than grey and forget the spectrum of human emotions and feelings and just box people into good and bad. It’s also so clear that coz of her personality, Ko can’t feel emotions and how Gang challenges her to think and make her tap into and look inwards to see if she feels any emotions/ understands but calling her empty can. That really hurt her! We could all see that, isnt’ it?Even though Ko said just to manipulate Gang that she loves him and he is pretty and pats his head, because no one did those to him before, he automatically gets drawn to it. His inner child craves those because he never got those before from his mother or friends or family. Like how all of us have inner child desires which we never got, and crave for, they depict it so well by showing his younger self.Is Ko’s mom a psychopath (can’t wait for the big reveal of suspense)? If Ko was in better environment which was more nourished and loved, maybe she wouldn’t be like this but it’s sad reality that if parents have mental illnesses then children are more prone and unless parents are aware and ready to give them supportive care, children can’t get better and the cycle continues. The scene where Ko’s dad tries kill her and she just lays down on floor laughing but tears roll down her eyes, but everyone is with her dad and no one with her, is such a gut-wrenching scene. Just because she isn’t incapacitated in a way people understand, everyone just ignores her completely. Imagine growing up when all you hear from your own dad is that you are a monster and you need to die, and dad tries to kill her when she is young! No wonder she doesn’t want to be associated with him or take him for walks. But no one wants to understand her perspective and blames her.Her dialogue of even “you won’t be able to understand me till the day you die”, sitting on side of empty road while diverting the ant which is coming close to her instead of killing the ant, is most beautiful but also most painful scene. And the hidden message from the book that zombie kid isn’t supposed to feel anything, but he felt warmth of his mom that means even the kid who isn’t supposed to feel anything, felt the warmth. So, I guess instead of just assuming that you know everything about what one feels, one should ask. Like how she asked, does the kid wanted to satisfy hunger or kid needed mothers warmth

Full of emotions

This episode was full of emotions. Episode 3 made us laugh so that they could break our hearts in this one. I totally felt Kang Tae's burden. On the outside, it looks like everything is fine but he is going through a lot. And that scene of Moon Young crying while laughing got to me. Seo Ye Ji is a really good actress. My heart went out to her. I also like the portrayal of ASPD in this drama. I just looked up the symptoms and it's really spot on. If not for this drama, I wouldn't know anything about it and won't look it up myself. Can't wait to see where they will take this story.

Keeps getting better

I was expecting the story to loose some of its traction but it is building up in power. It is profound and the writer and director should be be given a "genius artist and creator" medal. I can not get over how touching and stunning this is. Excellent choice in actors. Absolute masterpiece

Zombie Kid

4TH EP: Wholly wow. That episode was a major blow to the feels; it’s probably my favorite yet. I don’t even know where to start. There is so much emotion coming from all directions. This episode is the first we start to see the real in the stony-faced, super focused Moon Kang-tae. It is also what I suspect to be the first crack in the obsessive ice princess’ creepy and distanced demeanor. I have so many words right now, but that will be all for today. It’s so fantastic that don’t know if I can wait until next Saturday! It still remains was a definite 5/5 in my book.

Just Fantastic

While the first 3 episodes were setting up the story, episode 4 is what really kicks on the drama. The cinematography is outstanding in this episode. The story telling is top notch too. And there are quite a few sparks between the leads. If this episode doesn't take your heart away then this drama is probably not your cup of tea.

Zombie Kid

The episode hits a lot of emotions in a high level. The leads were still oozing with their chemistry. Every sad moment in this episode made us cry. In this episode, we're starting to understand our main leads, while they are beginning to relate to each other . Kang Tae somehow, was able to get a glimpse at what really Moon Young is inside. Last scene was very sad and sweet at the same time.
