Dal-mi and In-jae's self-driving car is hit by a ransomware attack. Samsan Tech founders return after a successful three-year stint in San Francisco. (Source: Netflix)
The film is too caught up in a love triangle and has almost nothing to do with starting a business. Also, the drama has a lot of plot holes and the writer can handle it a little differently so that all the characters are happy. I have a feeling outside of the main couple that the male side will eat all unhappiness in this drama
This Episode 13 is the most redundant episode of the entire series. I'm so disappointed. The whole episode is basically made to look like Dosan had no reason to go see Dalmi, and they had to make a stupid excuse to make Dosan go see her. And, me, as a certified Network Engineer, find the ransomware part really stupid.#1 you spent billions of won, and no backup.#2 they are clearly using Windows, and they mentioned that they left Port 22 open, and hackers came in through SSH and installed the ransomware. Any computer engineer/technician would know not to use a common port 22. I know you need to connect to it, at least change it to something else? Not so common?#3 Problem is, you can't SSH into Windows.#4 So, I thought, maybe they SSH into their server (Linux Server), through brute force. Which is also stupid, nowadays, nobody uses passwords, we use SSH keys. Let's say they're stupid enough, to not use SSH keys, instead, they use passwords, and guess what? It's impossible to brute force into it, because after a few tries, SSH system is smart enough to intentionally delay the login process, which makes it impossible to brute force. So the only way this could happen is, the developer installed the ransomware themselves. Let's assume they SSH in to install the ransomware on the Linux server (that part I assumed, because Dosan used SSH to fix the ransomware).#5 Which the above point doesn't make sense, because they found where the ransomware was installed, they claimed that it was installed on the Windows system, which someone executed the file, and "Defender" stopped it half way. Now here comes the problem.#6 Windows Defender, or any anti-virus would not let you run the software at all. It doesn't make sense to run it half way before detecting it as a malware/virus/ransomware before quarantining it. It just doesn't work this way. You either detect it before it runs, or it doesn't get detected. And Defender part is Windows. Even if all the earlier part about ransomware hitting Linux server is true, there is no way the infected Linux server could execute the program on Windows without the user actually doing so.#7 So I'm confused, as a network engineer. Virus installed on Windows (unlikely because you can't SSH into Windows), you can't infect Linux server, because you'd need root (#) access, or super user access through sudo. Windows can't do that. And Linux server can't execute a file on your Windows platform. They're 2 very different platform.#8 Everybody knows when we do coding, we have some sort of version control, which acts as backup. There are many open source (free) solutions which doesn't cost anything. Your project is worth billions and none of the developers know anything about it?Those parts alone, I'm not confused, but it frustrates me, that they didn't even bother to do a simple research on the computer part, especially that this whole series is about computer tech start ups.Oh boy ... I had high hopes, but I've lost everything after episode 13.
at this point i decided to treat start up as just another ordinary feel-good drama with no message to say. It's rreally not that deep. Once i treat it that way, it's actually quite enjoyable to watch these characters- theyir interactions are so fun and cute. Watching them all growing into hot shots just makes me happy lol
