I didn't realize how old it was
I just clicked on it on netflix and settled in, watching at 1.5 speed with liberal fast forwarding. The intro music drove me up a wall. One of the standard elements to the kdramas I have watched is beautiful female leads and Song Hye-kyo certainly was good to look at! While watching it I was thinking about the fight scenes and how they were of lower quality and attributed that to an intended style when it probably was normal for 2013. It was a cold, windy, and sometime wet day today and I hustled through the last 8 episodes with just a few breaks. Nice and comfortable. Candidly, I didn't really like the male lead but then I don't think I was supposed to like him...at first. But we got a relatively happy ending amidst cherry or some kind of blossoms, so at least back in 2013 these writers were still formulaic and delivering what audiences want to see.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Was great until the last 2 episodes
While watching, I really liked the storyline and the acting by the two leads, Jo In- sung and Song Hye-kyo. The outdoor scenes in the mountains and sea were beautifully filmed ...Then I got to Episode 15, after ML gets kicked out of the house. Most of Episode 15 comprised of each character separately reminiscing of good times and pining for each other. What a waste of film!After FL kicked Secretary Wang out of the house for fraud and embezzlement, she then called the Secretary in the middle of the night to see how she's doing. If FL missed the Secretary so much, why did she bother kicking her out in the first place?
Starting with Episode 15 & continuing to Episode 16, I started getting bored. The FL finally watched ML's video but later told him that she can't forgive him but they can talk about things after the surgery. She wanted a blow-by-blow description of ML's feelings while they were together and lying to her. While she's talking, ML began the waterworks from his eyes. By this time, I am bored with his crying. Jo In-sung is a good actor with a great acting range and I was initially wowed by his emotional scenes. But after 2-3 straight episodes of continual crying, I was now indifferent and bored, the emotional impact was now lost on me.
Also, FL slit her wrist, but yet she's eligible for brain surgery 2 days later? Seriously? What hospital allows that without a psych eval? This hospital even performs brain surgery at 9 pm! I guess surgeons in Korea don't work during the daytime and schedule complicated brain surgeries at night ... or maybe they perform easy surgeries during the day and save the complicated brain surgeries for later in the night (with a lot of caffeine to keep them awake)!
This show could have been outstanding, given the vast talents of Jo In-sung and Song Hye-kyo, but I blame the writer and director for the nonsensical episodes near the end. There's no need for me to rewatch this show.

After almost 10 years here I am finishing once again this masterpiece ✨️
I'm clapping 👏👏 wonderful cast, acting, storyline, scenario and references.Although I am not a huge fan of melodrama this one is different, they did it right in every aspect.
every scene is meaningful, every dialogue is well written and well played!
I loved the chemistry of the leads and the character development of all the character of the show.
It wasn't draggy also like today's dramas. The story unfold in 16 episodes as intended.
Song hye kyo did great but Zo in-sung stole the show for me. I really loved him in this drama.
I remember binge watching this show 10 years ago and although it's my second time I couldn't stop watching or skip any scene. I'm still impressed!
I'm thinking to re-watch it again in 10 years haha

What's with the direction
The acting is so-so, with the lead actress pretty good, except her blind walking needs work. She seems to 'see' where she's going, (ie walking up and down steps, walking into new room and not bumping into anything, eg). The lead actor, (my father told me if you don't have anything nice to say about someone don't speak).The music and scenery s very nice so that is a positive, but the direction is awful. When someone has a disability concerning one sense, usually the other sense are more acute. A blind girl come to the apartment building and talks with her brother's room mate for some time, the next scene that same guy comes to the blind girl and acts as if he's her brother. She never associated his voice to the room mate? A guy comes up to two girls having a cat fight and the next scene you see some other character walking out of a building and one of the girls and the guy are following her? The lead actor is driving a car in the countryside and stops, tells the blind girl to get out of the car as we have to talk about your wedding and the next scene they are in their Chocolate coffee house, which is in the city, talking about the wedding? The lead actor gets stabbed and goes to the hospital and when he walks out of the hospital, gets in a fight and acts as if nothing had happened, stomach is completely healed.
When the distractions become so obvious, it makes the series unwatchable.

I mean, we still had the same problem with the main character girl. She seemed to go through a character arc and then, she went back to how she was in the 2nd to last episode. I still don't know if she really changed. Her stoic face was enough to scare anyone, and she went overboard when you least expected it, and when you most expected her to go overboard she didn't.
It's very hard to say that this was a bad drama, I so wanted it to be good and end well. I mean, the acting wasn't bad, the music wasn't bad and the plot wasn't bad.
Well, I did start this drama for Kim Bum, and I must say, he was the reason I kept watching. He is really good at acting in this drama, and he almost made the whole drama worth it. So, if you are watching it for Kim Bum, you can get a long way. And you might even enjoy the ending.

Nine years trying to finish it
It has been nine years since I started to watch this drama and its time I'm not able to finish it, I dont know either cry or laugh.First of all, gotta say my reviews are based on my own criteria and how many time took me to finish it's one of them and this one had took me so long.
Since the beginning, when I read the sinopsis I was a little bit reluctant about it even if Song HyeKyo, Kim Bum and Jo Insung was there (I was so in love with them in that time, even know a little bit) but the plot for me was so toxic. I don’t know how, if i was in fl's shoes, could fell in love with a man who has been lying to me all the time, know things like that could happened in real life maybe it would be like a syndrome, but since people try to feel identify with the characters and I can't feel conexion with none all of the characters here, I haven't been able to finish it, even if I try, because I don't like to let unfinished dramas (I have a lot anyways) but well, that's my opinion and this is all.
