Surprise :)
At first I wasn't sure about this series because I don't really like Sitcoms, but I decided to watch it because of the actor that I got to favor very much (Lay) after I watched his other series in with he played. I watched this series and that surprised me but I really fell in love in this story . . . I was so into it that I almost cried when the end of season have come.Everything in the series was funny and interesting. The main "couple" Pun and Nott were so lovely that I really wish to see more of them in the upcoming season. I can't wait to see what will happen next between them and so of course I'm curious about the rest of characters story.
Simply "This series made my day happy by laughting to the level of almost dying out of breath :D"

I have already been warned that this series doesn't make any sense. I still took the risk of watching it and indeed it's true. Not in a bad way though. I waited for each episode every week. The chaos, the silliness and the love story all complimented each other making the series truly unique.
However, I think no one was ever prepared for the last episode. It had a more serious note from the beginning. Who would have thought the main characters won't end up as couples? But it didn't seem to be a sad ending. With such a small number of actors, you can see and feel their closeness to each other. I ddn't expect to cry at the end but I actually did. And of course, to live up with the craziness of the series, the spaceship had to be there. The heart-to-heart conversation between Nott and Pun in spacesuits, that's iconic.
At first, I honestly didn't expect a lot from this series. Now I am reminded not to judge a book by its cover. Thankfully there's a second season.

Since it's really hard to describe what this show is about, I like to explain it as that weird dream you strangely don't want to leave so you can see how it plays out. YYY is a funny show, and the characters are each compelling in their own ways. If you're looking for a different BL show or simply a comedy you've never seen before, check this one out. It's a breath of fresh air and the OST will make you dance at the beginning of every episode.

Hilarious acid trip
I realize this type of comedy isn't everyone's cup of tea, but don't knock it till you try it. More people need to see this :DThe entirety of this show is a comedy of a comedy, with plenty of references, chaotic characters, silly sound effects and canned laughter. This is the only show i have ever watched where canned laughter didn't make my whole body cringe-instead it made things better. It was an emotional roller coaster all the way through. The show doesn't take itself seriously, which is what made it even better.
Plenty of fourth wall breaking, silly puns, and comic relief. Not one character got on my nerves which is a first. Porpla was kinda iffy at the beginning, but by the end you will love her. Everything is over the top, yet it isn't- it's kinda hard to explain. :D
The actors did an amazing job portraying characters from this crackhead series , and Pun and Nott had surprisingly amazing chemistry. I would love to see BTS of this series, and how they managed to keep their composure through the super cheesy and corny lines. All in all, i enjoyed every second of this acid trip! :D
The only negative thing i have to say about the series is the flashing lights at the beginning. Literally gave me a headache xD
Acting:
10/10
Rewatch value:
12/10
Also, holy moly Lay is incredibly attractive. Don't get me wrong, the entirety of the cast is, there's just something about Lay that makes him stand out. :D

a random but hilarious show that I actually love.
So I watched this show purely because it had Talay Sanguandikun in. I really liked him in other dramas I had seen so I decided to give this one a try. I was not disappointed. The opening is extremely catchy and I've even downloaded the song to my playlist. The storyline made me laugh literally every five minutes and it was just really cutesy and wholesome overall. I would really suggest it if you are just getting into more BL's or Thai dramas because it isn't that serious or, heavy, as some people call it. It also doesn't have that many episodes. I'm not usually emotional but I actually cried in the last episode, even with the kinda funny aspects of the show and I will always value it for that. Basically I love this show, please watch it.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
I really like Arm, he is cuttiiipiee. Whole cast is amazing ❤❤ . One thing i didn't like, only 6 episodes ????? and also the time span. Will be waiting for 2 season with more episodes.
Now I am confused who to ship, #perthtalay or #yoontalay ????

You must absolutely keep an open mind
I went into this show with super low expectations, thinking that I would just see what it was about to pass some time. Never would I have expected to fall so much in love with this series! I was even counting down the days for the next episode to be released!I think the main reason that some people on here don’t like it, is that they’re missing the point of the show. They start watching it with the expectation that it’ll be like the other bl’s they’ve watched, but it’s not and never claimed to be. This show has a disclaimer, reminding you not to look for logic, for a reason. It’s absolutely crack. Never have I seen anything so weird in my life and it’s honestly an experience to watch.
I will say though, that one of the things that surprised me about the show is how much heart it has. In between all of the crack there’s actually some really beautiful moments and even some really good life advice. It’s refreshing to watch a show where the characters actually communicate with each other and handle their problems in a mature way.

The acting is amazing considering this their first drama for most cast members. The main leads have some of the best chemistry I have ever seen. the drama is interesting and really realistic but it also contain just the right amount of comedy as well. I honesty love the main couple a lot. They also address very serious issue that is usually over look by other Bl series. Such as they shed light on taking advantage of people when. they are drunk witch is a common trop in Bl series. The music is also great especially the MV that just came out. I personally think this series is great and its 100% worth a try for sure.

immaturity of this shows in a sense that it was made for us to laugh and challenge the sensibility(?idk maybe senses?) of this show. it's so funny it just does not make sense(in a good way). i used immaturity to highlight the funny and nonsensical side of this show.
Maturity of this show came by surprise, because I(we) did not expect such deep storylines from this show. the dialogues and everything. it challenges common stigmas among other shows, calling out non appropriate actions of others. the finale shot my heart fo hard i don't even know anymore.
i really liked the way it ended, even if this show did not have a second season, i would still loved it. (we are getting a second season yehey). the finale is something else, not typical "imaginative" ending. the ending felt very real, like it is something that really can/happen in real life. i am not saying that other shows are unrealistic or something, what i want to say is that it was something that you don't expect from a show and it left a mark. (okay so, the real part is the story and dialogue not pun's "car" HAHAHA)
that characters are not shallow at all. although some are not that developed, but i think that is okay because they don't really need the development to affect the story, so those are good. (spoiler>>>) when Porpla told pun her history, it's character reflection y'all. it was well done. character reflections(CF) is actually a good tool to develop/enhance a character, I read books and watched many series before and many does not have CF which really sucks because it can give depth to a certain character.

Chaotic Hilarity
Okay. I liked it! It was crazy. Like. Seriously crazy! As soon as you’re watching a scene of “Awwwe! What a touching moment!” BAM! Insanity ensues! Off the wall, zany, makes absolutely no sense cut away scenes. The supporting characters are absolutely insane. And loud! Lol! But it’s different. And fun. And under all the craziness, is a cute love story that I really enjoyed watching. And it’s got Talay, who I just watched in “My Engineer”, and honestly, I’d watch this man sit and watch paint dry!! I absolutely love him! He does a fantastic job in this series. So going in to watch this, it’s zany, silly, crazy, cute, and also has several very naughty dialogue scenes, and other... stuff, I don’t want to spoil! It’s worth a watch! You’ll definitely laugh, and wonder what the hell is going on! I definitely recommend you watch it. And watch the 3 Special Episodes after this! That’s a must! It ties everything together in a nice, beautiful bow!Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
STORY
The premise of YYY is one of the weirdest out there--like, who came up with this? Even though its zany, they tell a good story with colorful characters. You'll feel invested in the main couple, Nott and Pun, who start off as a fake relationship turning into something real. There are many scenes that are surreal and out there, but don't let it put you off, underneath all that humor, there is real love story going on. I also like how it pokes fun at many BL tropes, like obsessed fujoshi's, the dreaded "Episode 11," and non consensual sex, and the series end up saying a lot of profound things. The only criticism I have with the story is that I wished they delved deep with the main characters' relationship with the other tenants because by the end of the series, you can feel how close they gotten to each other, but they never explain why.
ACTING/CAST
Even though not the main star, Poppy (Porpla) steals the show playing a yaoi-obsessed cross-dresser who at first comes off as dictatorial, but is actually a motherly figure to the tenants of her apartment. The scene in which she had a heart-to-heart with Pun (played by Talay) is one of my favorite scenes and showcases Poppy's acting skills. Talay's performance as Pun captivates you with his angst and longing looks, and this is supposed to be a comedy show! I love Yoon's performance as Nott, the confident hero of this story who despite his skills, have many insecurities. Even the supporting actors are great. My personal favorites are Korn and Bababig, who plays Wang Chao and Mahan, respectively, the Chinese brothers who sows chaos in the apartment. They play their characters with crackhead energy, and I hope to see them in future BL series.
MUSIC
The soundtrack is mostly stock music and some songs from WHY RU, so nothing really special here; however, I enjoyed the theme song. It's catchy and has a rhumba feel to it.
REWATCH
This series have a lot of hilarious and memorable scenes: when Porpla busts in to take back her cell phone, only to see Nott and Pun "sleeping" with each other, the laundry room scene, the Chinese opera rehearsal, the drunken discourse on non consensual sex, and the hypnotism scene (referencing to Make it Right) to name a few. I loved the roof top party scene--it was poignant and showcases the dynamics between the characters. These scenes are worth watching over and over again.
Don't let the humor and wackiness fool you (har har). This series packs a lot of heart and is good ol' story telling. Watch it if you want a good laugh, and if you want to shed a couple of tears.

BL "nonsensical" comedy that gets somewhat serious with the BL
This is not a typical series, let alone a typical BL. Its brand of nonsensical comedy is probably not everyone's cup of tea though I actually enjoyed it. It isn't nonsensical in a truly bad way, but you have to be prepared for random magic-realist events, including people disappearing into a washing machine, apparently teleporting and traveling in a spaceship. The anarchy resulting from this sort of comedy can be really fun especially if executed well. I guess this series is a bit of an experiment, and the makers haven't gone all the way with the peculiar brand of comedy, which is a bit of a letdown though it may have saved the series from losing fans. There are plenty of allusions in the series (I'm pretty sure I didn't get a huge chunk of them) and a lot of self-reflexive moments. Porpla the landlady appears in a different costume in almost every scene (including as Annabelle the horror-movie doll), and Nott the main character muses about what love is in semi-serious moments only to be asked by Porpla at one point whom he's talking to.
As for the BL segments, they start off rather randomly but get quite serious. Don't expect the couple Nott/Pun to become a classic BL couple though. There isn't that much of a story though there are plenty of BL moments. Which makes it a little hard to critique using the usual criteria. True, the story isn't exactly strong in the usual way, but this is not a usual series. It's quite a different creature altogether and the conventional categories of evaluation won't work. If it's your cup of tea to watch a somewhat coherent but thin BL story with random elements that have been hallucinated by someone high on drugs, then you should absolutely go for this. Otherwise, watch it with an open mind and you will find at least something enjoyable.
Strangely enough, the mostly bizarre characters end up being rather likable to me. When they bid Pun farewell in the last episode, acting all emotional, I actually felt like I wanted to see more of them. Season 2 has been announced, and I'm not sure how it will go. Will the nonsense comedy elements be toned down to appeal to more people? Or does the series have a strong enough fan base to get away with taking the hilariously nonsensical elements further?
