Must watch!!! Best C-drama ever! With the best plot ever!
It will make you cry like a river.. ! Best for all time! I highly recommended it to you! Xukai acting was very on point.. his eyes tell about all his pain , he truly one of the best C- actors i've known.. All the ost in these drama are truly amazing like, even your not Chinese you will learn to sing it because of it's nice sounds and ofc the meaning of the songs was truly beautiful.. The Plot and twist of the story line was beyond my expectation like i never realize how good the writer was.. it makes your heart heavy to hold... Solid Xianxia Drama, would recommend to anyone
First of all, the plot, music, and acting was pretty good. The storyline is pretty easy to follow and was really good emotionally wise as well. Out of all the xianxia dramas, I think this ranks behind three lives three worlds.Im a big fan of deep, layered stories and like most xianxia dramas, this was pretty surface level. From episode 1-16 is the backstory, and onwards the plot really starts picking up. I felt that the story lagged near the ending and lost its vigor, especially the ending episode.
Overall, a solid 8.5/10. If your looking to watch a xianxia, then yeah its probably good. I wouldnt rewatch it though because there arent really any scenes that really made it memorable.

Watch it, totally worth it!
My emotions are still a mess, i can't explain how beautiful this is! Won't deny, i fxcking cried a lot during the last episodes, so happy they ended up together! A love as beautiful as that really deserves a good ending because if it doesn't, i'll bash this drama to death! Imagine living three lifetimes devoted to only one woman and doing everything just for her without her knowing because her man took her memories in order for her not to worry about anything and just live a happy life. It'll be totally unfair for the guy because he suffered alone and all he got was death. But well, the ending was what I hoped for and I am very very glad they ended up being together! I hope everyone will find a love like that! Ashes Of Love can never compare. This drama has mature casts, no cringe moments and no over dramatic casts, it is more than perfect for those who wants to watch a high quality xianxia drama!Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Xianxia but it.actually has something new!
Absolutely breathtaking cinematography., Honey-sweet chemistry. Yes it might seem trope-heavy but that's what this is a "class Xianxia". You won't find Xianxia anywhere else and there's hardly one good Xianxia drama in a year. So this is a treat. Tencent does CGI like no one else, it's grandiose. The OSTs??? It's the best you'll here in quite some time- Zhou Shen, Liu Yuning, Mao Buyi all together. It's a blessing to my ears. I loved it to the core. I found it kinda absurd how the scene changed after 15 episodes but I got used to the new setting real quick. The side characters are all memorable and very cute. I'd recommend it 100% if you like wuxia/ xianxia.P.S: Just wanted to say that Tian Qi (Liu Xueyi) blew my mind. I was swept off my feet by him. I guess I really like that kind of a character a little bit dark but with a strong will and protective of the people he loves. I loved this drama much more than I'd have if he wasn't present!!

Best Xian Xia Drama of This Year So Far
Story: Although this drama is typical xianxia drama in general, the interesting point of this drama is the main character, which is the strong female god. Many of xianxia drama describe the female MC as badass and strong one, but only this drama consistently tell this attitude until the end. The story is middle-pace but gripping me fast enough to finish it only in 5 days in proximate. Almost no grey character in the story, just the good one or the bad one, despite many hilarious ones. I think the production team was playing safe for choosing this drama because the story is easy to digest and probably just as easy to become big fans drama.Acting: Maybe because this was her first time acting in costume drama, at first I found Zhou Dongyu's acting was a little bit out of line. Many of her expressions were not match the scene, like too many smiling in serious or touching scenes. But after the halfway, her acting became better and better, specially the crying scenes. I have watched some of Xu Kai's drama and my deepest impression of him is in The Legend. And I think this is another Xu Kai's best costume drama. Though I'm not really fond of his appearance in costume drama, but have to admit that he has magnificent acting skills. For addition, I fell in love with Liu Xueyi's character in this drama. Gosh, he was so cute and hilarious.
Music: This drama has many OST which probably will be my favorite OST playlist. The music score was very beautiful and touching. Special mention for the ones Mao Buyi and Zhou Shen sang.
Overall: There was no doubt that this drama spend big budget on production. The settings and CGI are very exquisite. The costumes also beautifully designed. This drama will be one of my favorite Xianxia drama following TMPB and LAR

Was ok will watch again if bored
I am not gonna lie, I was hoping for way more but this was not a bad show either. What I love most is watching XUN KAi , play a much more mature role, they always have him playing roles where he acting kidish and after awhile it gets hard to swallow so I really enjoyed watching him mature into a role such as the one he was playing in. The story it self was superb, I only wish they would have given us a little bit more in the romance department. the acting was great, the production value was really good, I would like to see more of this type of dramas considering fantasy is my favorite thing to watch.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Need Some Warming Up!
The way I see it is that there are 2 main reasons why you might end up abandoning Ancient Love Poetry after a few episodes. One is the actress. It is a case of love or hate. If you love Zhou Dong Yu as Shang Gu, it is easier to enjoy the story. This is because everything that happens revolves around her. Hence, if you think she was wrongly casted as the female lead, then it might just turn you off as you watch. For me, I don’t think she is perfect for the role. It took me some time to warm up to her and the way she portrayed the role with her smiles. She just doesn’t have the aura of a Chief God to me.Two is the slow start. The beginning plot is very typical of a xianxia drama. The presence of an imprisoned Demon Lord trying to break free and a young goddess falling in love with a more matured and cold god actually remind me of Love And Destiny and Eternal Love Of Dream. So, the familiar storyline is there but the good news is it is condensed to about 16 episodes before the second arc begins. Nevertheless, that is still 16 episodes to sit through if you find the start to be boring.
In short, Ancient Love Poetry will need some warming up for a section of viewers before the story starts to get more captivating and you begin to get used to the female lead. Basically, some patience is needed if you can’t get into the story from the word go.
Interesting Overall Plot
Despite the familiar opening plot, I find the story takes a more refreshing turn after 16 episodes. There is a certain anticipation of how Hou Chi, Bo Xuan, and Qing Mu are related to Shang Gu and Bai Jue. You know there is a connection there which would make you look forward to the moment everything is revealed. So, the boredom dissipates by the time you reach the second arc of the story.
In addition, the supporting characters are interesting to give a more complete and satisfying drama. Despite being gods and immortals, they have their struggles and selfishness to protect the person they loved such as Tian Qi and Mu Guang. Most dramas do not have well-developed supporting characters but not Ancient Love Poetry. I think the team did well to give more life to these characters to heighten the viewers’ emotions to the story.
Acting And Chemistry
As mentioned, I’m not too gung-ho about Zhou Dong Yu’s portrayal of Shang Gu. It has nothing to do with her looks. Instead, the switch from a playful to a more commanding goddess is not obvious when required. She doesn’t have the screen presence to carry that aura of a Chief God convincingly. In contrast, I think Yang Mi did it better in Ten Miles Of Peach Blossoms as one can see her character’s commanding nature when the scene calls for it.
In a way, Zhou Dong Yu’s performance seems to be overshadowed by Jenny Zhang’s portrayal of Wu Huan to me. Wu Huan is a hateful but insecure character due to her past experience. But the way Jenny Zhang displays Wu Huan’s regal stature and deceit is very persuasive which is why it is easy for viewers to hate her.
As for Xu Kai, playing Bai Jue or Qing Mu isn’t really a problem to him anymore. He is a pretty versatile actor and can be cold or mischievous like in Dance Of The Sky Empire. At least, I can detect a difference in Xu Kai’s portrayal of Bai Jue and Qing Mu which are 2 different characters in the drama.
The chemistry between Zhou Dong Yu and Xu Kai isn’t off the charts but good enough to make it watchable to me. There are sad moments for the couple in the drama and their watery eyes could break your heart. This is where this couple could hook you and make it hard for you to let them go after the drama is over. But generally, I find that the teasings, quarrels, hugs, and kisses are like most on-screen couples which is nothing really extraordinary.
My Verdict – Watch!
Ancient Love Poetry isn’t perfect but the overall plot is good enough to keep you interested once you have warmed up to the story and actress. It is the initial stage that you possibly need to get over to go on to enjoy the drama. Moreover, not everyone will find the first arc to be boring. It really depends on your tolerance level for recycled plots. It is also obvious that this is a high budget production compared to the usual romance dramas. The CGIs are realistic and costumes look beautiful. All these little details add up to give viewers a quality production.
My opinion is not to let the actress and first few episodes to bother you too much if those are what make you hesitant. Be a little patient to wait for the story to unfold. I know 16 out of 49 episodes is a little long to gauge if it is worth watching but I think the characters will grow on you as you follow their journey. I see this as a plot-driven drama and the supporting characters also have their own backstories to keep things more engaging.
For this Ancient Love Poetry review, I would give it a score of 8/10. Some would love it while others would end up dropping it. I’m not crazy over it like some fans and I don’t think this is the best drama for 2021 because the chemistry could be better and the ending is rather predictable and simplistic especially the last scene. But it is still worth a watch for the plot and well-developed characters. Don’t be swayed by the high ratings by international audience and the low ratings by Chinese viewers. To me, it is somewhere between the 2 and that is a fairer assessment for Ancient Love Poetry.

A drama series you all definitely cannot miss!!!
First thing first, I'd like to show my biggest appreciation to the writer/s who gave the role of Shang Gu and Bai Jue to Zhou Dongyu and Xu Kai. They both portrayed their characters successfully and I give them my enormous respect for that. In the first few episodes, I was a bit reluctant to continue watching the series since I could not find the chemistry between the two of them. However, I pushed myself to continue it and by the time I reached episodes 20 above I got myself hooked on it once again. And that's basically the success of Zhou Dongyu and Xu Kai as each of them played two characters (Shang Gu/ Hou Chi) and (Bai Jue/ Qing Mu).This was my first time watching Zhou Dongyu and I must say I like her a lot as she could express her sadness with her eyes only. Her chemistry with Xu Kai was also on point and I hope they both could work together again in the future. Another thing that I like most in this series is the soft colour combinations in each costume. They did not need to use complicated accessories to match up the costume, the simplicity itself makes the costumes look attractive and elegant. I just love to see Xu Kai in all costumes he's wearing here. He looked very charming as well as handsome on all of them.
Overall, if you are a fan of Chinese Wuxia or Xianxia series, "Ancient Love Poetry" is something you definitely can't miss. I believe you all will enjoy it. Thumbs up!! Cheers!!

O melhor drama Xianxia de 2021
Bom antes de mais nada quero dizer que antes de assistir já tinha grandes expectativas por esse drama.Correspondeu ao que eu esperava e entregou uma boa historia e com um final completo.
Para os amantes de Xianxia como eu, esse drama é a escolha certa, vale muito a pena.
Preciso dizer que o casal principal é realmente bom, quero dizer é o esperado de Xu Kai ele nunca decepciona, ao que parece houveram algumas criticas negativas, mas foram totalmente ignorados e sobre a atriz Zhou Dong Yu, ela com certeza cumpre o esperado e entrega boas cenas, alias devo dizer que ela é bem fofa no inicio como Shang Gu.
A trama é boa e se mantem num bom ritmo.
A obra consegue emocionar quando precisa e lhe vai tirar lagrimas dos momentos tristes,
além de o fazer sorrir nos momentos fofos e descontraídos.
Poesia de Amor Milenar é um drama ao estilo Eternal Love, Love and Destiny e como eles também é um drama longo são 49 episódios, mas que mesmo sendo relativamente longo está longe de ser cansativo ou monótono, por mais que a obra possa ter falhas, seus acertos são tantos que pequenos problemas são insignificantes.
A historia é boa e está basicamente dividida em basicamente três partes, sendo a primeira aquele clichê básico em que a FL "Shang Gu" precisar treinar sob a tutela do ML "Bai Ju" para ficar mais forte, pois seus poderes são fracos para que então ela possa cumprir seu dever como a líder dos quarto deuses verdadeiros. Ao longo dessa parte veremos um desenvolvimento da FL e sua interação com o ML movem a trama, Shang Gu é bem travessa e divertida enquanto Bai Ju é frio, mas se abre aos poucos.
A segunda parte diz respeito a sinopse vai nos mostrar o desenvolvimento de Houchi (Shang Gu), não vou entrar em detalhes.
E por fim terceira que é a parte final e a conclusão da historia, só posso dizer que todos absolutamente todos os personagens tem finais que condizem com o que você espera deles ou finais merecidos.
A qualidade da produção é excelente e a CGI é realmente boa.
Não tem muito o que dizer sobre coreografias.
O figurino é bom, gosto do visual de Shang Gu~
A OST é maravilhosa, absolutamente todas as musicas são boas e eu preciso fazer uma menção a melhor musica ao meu ver.
A musica "The Thought of Life" (执生念) cantada por "Ye Xuan Qing" é pra mim a melhor OST do drama, quando essa musica toca em um episodios especifico eu fiquei encantado e fui obrigado a procurar a musica, mais tarde fiz questão de traduzi-la.
O romance é agradável e funciona muito bem,
o casal principal é maravilhoso.
Zhou Dong Yu como Shang Gu/Hou Chi sua personagem sofre grandes mudanças ao decorrer da historia e ao meu ver a atriz consegue desempenhar uma boa atuação e me agradou bastante, a personagem em si é boa e no inicio é adoravel.
Xu Kai como Bai Jue/Qing Mu seu personagem começa como um deus verdadeiro sem emoção e frio e ao decorrer da historia vemos suas mudanças e suas emoções se tornando evidentes, a atuação é simplesmente perfeita e esse é o que eu espero de um grande ator como Xu Kai.
O elenco como um todo é bom e não tenho grandes menções a fazer, no geral todos me agradaram,
se eu tivesse de citar seriam as atrizes Luo Qiu Yun como deusa Yue Mi e Jenny Zhang como Wu Huan.
Devo dizer que o inicio da novel é diferente do inicio do drama, ou seja na realidade o drama começa contando a partir de Shang Gu e o reino dos deuses verdadeiros, enquanto a novel tem o inicio com Houchi, acredito que muitos deve ter achado estranho quando entra a segunda metade do drama, mas entendo do por que o drama escolheu começar por Shang Gu, inclusive devo dizer que a novel detalhe melhor, mas o drama tem seus méritos e é com toda certeza uma obra prima.
Não há grandes considerações finais, devo dizer que o drama é bom.
Cumpre o esperado de obras desse tipo e entrega boas cenas,
a historia me agrada, os personagens são bons e o final é completo.
Para quem gosta de dramas nesse estilo é uma boa escolha, com toda certeza você irá amar.

Super love this drama, honestly i cried not because of the drama but because of the song, the lyrics got to me. I wonder how they came up with lyrics to match the plot of the drama. And the protagonist isn't the female lead but the male lead, I honestly thought it was all about Shanggu but towards the end I came to the realisation that it was all about Baijue, and if you watch the end with the waiting for his return and all, you will also understand it. I was angry at the beginning because all of them were just protecting her and making decisions for her when she was obviously the most powerful one of them all, they didn't allow her to show her full potential but just kept her in a bubble all because of love, so I was angry at all the male in the drama and the most stupid one of them all is the heavenly emperor, he got off easily for my liking. So for me this drama is special and I love it. Been a while that I was so invested in a drama because L&R really ruined me for a long time, couldn't focus on any other drama until this ALP. Kudos to all the casts, both the MAINs and SUPPORTING casts. 10/10Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Best drama in terms of story and cgi
This is the must watch drama for everyone who loves xianxia genre...When I stand watching this from 1 to 15 episode I like every interaction between our leads and it is a cute and flittering story
But from episode 16 the real drama begins and all the emotional scenes forces us to shed all the tears from eyes. .
I do not even remember when I cried that much ...
Osts are the best part of drama...
In short I think everyone should try this one because it is s masterpiece ....
