35 sai no Koukousei (2013)

Both dramas feature a strong willed female character trying to change/deal with issues that happen in school and helping students by making them see their mistakes and how to correct them.

Only in Gokusen, the main character is a teacher.

Both have the protagonist as an adult high school student dealing with issues like bullying.

They both have an adult trying to understand her students. While 35-SNK, she is a 35 year old going back to high school. In Gokusen, she is a teacher. Both female leads have secrets that they have to hide.

This is a also a Japanese Drama set in high school which tackles similar themes to Switched and so much more. It deals with the dark reality of today's high schools and what it is like to be in one. Quite serious and psychological but also quite meaningful in the sense of what it is trying to portray even though it can be over the top in some areas sometimes.

Both have the actress Yonekura Ryoko playing a person who tries to change the school system.

In this drama the male lead return to school after 10 years and try to fight the education system and way the students are being discriminated on the basis of marks

Both are about a person in their thirties who starts to attend high school again, and influence their fellow students on the way.

Stories have similar vibe. Both deal with school life and both female leads are out of place in their own ways (one as a student, the other as a teacher). Also as the background stories of the leads is slowly revealed, you gain an understanding into why the characters behave the way that they do.

Instead of student the teacher is trying to change the students way of think, same kind of feel with the setting and thriller

Both about bullying, and have the students "judge" and decide who the perpetrators are. 35 sai no Koukousei is a bit more dark though, but I think that's just because jdramas about bullying tend to be more deep.

Both series focus on a non-traditional main character; 'Ore no Sukato' focuses on their gay homeroom teacher, and '35 sai' focuses on their 35-year-old transfer student. The series' focuses on individual students on a per episode basis, while tying the class together with the overarching plot line, that cumulates at the end.

Both dramas deal with bullying. Life is about a teenager trying to overcome bullying whereas 35 sai no Koukousei is about a 35 year old trying to help students that are being bullied.

Although KG focuses on more of a 'game' category and 35SNK on more of a 35 year old rejoining high school as a student to deal with the modern day problems, they both still revolve around teachers trying to deal with said problems.

Another drama series that deals with bullying in a high school, along with slowly destroying a rank system among the students that's common in most bullying-centric dramas. I recommend mostly for both main leads focusing on trying to change the class they are part of, plus gaining friends along the way. Though the reasons are both very different and the roles are too (one is a teacher, the other is a transfer student) I consider 35-sai a classic drama that any should watch if they enjoy dramas that focus on school bullying and the Japanese educational system.
