molto divertente
La protagonista femminile e' molto divertente , come in tutti i drama , Zhao Lusy oltre che essere una ottima attrice e' spesso divertente , riuscendo ad essere anche piu' intensa . La prima meta' del drama e' piu' leggera ed accattivante, con molte situazioni divertenti, diventando piu' serio e con una trama piu' intensa nella seconda meta' , che ho trovato un po' pesante e lenta da vedere. Alla fine si e' felici che si arrivi ad una conclusione . Il protagonista maschile e' relativamente e non mi ha entusiasmato molto. Ho preferito di gran lunga il second lead , anche se poi tanta cattiveria diventa quasi ridicola . I compagni di scuola sono i personaggi maschili che ho preferito , in modo particolare Ao Rui Peng che recita sempre con molta disinvoltura e simpatia . Se si dimentica la parte noiosa, tutto sommato non e' male come drama, forse solo grazie al talento di alcuni attori.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Zhuo wen yuan and Song Qi
I really like how the story begin, since Wen Yuan and Qi were both childhood friend as well, but he has fallen for her long ago. I liked the way he make her happy, and always protect her in a quiet way, during the time i really hope that he would confess to her before someone else does. But unfortuanately he does it after she together with Yun Zhi, I was like "how selfish he is!"also he never let this go even if she rejected him many times. As the time goes by he was even more cruel to her just for his own greed and selfishness. And at the end I really don't understand him that he tries to poison Qi, but when he knows that she was alive and start fighting with her he's suddenly let her win on purpose and then kill himself.I still like it though, it doesn't make me feel bad for the second lead anymore after what he;s done

- if you enjoy a FL who has a strong character

Here's why I dropped it like a hot potato
- ML's characterization is bad in my books. I cant understand how he is defined in the script. He's supposed to be worldly, refined and maybe dignified based on his knowledge, rank and position in school. Yet he comes off as immature and lacking? Is it a script thing? I felt disappointed in the ML and cant help whining about the scriptwriter- if she could take a page or just a para out of Zhou Shen Chen (of One and only), Hou Chi (from Dear Brother) or even Pei Zhao (of Maiden Holmes);
- Styling below par. If you think of Xu Kai Cheng, his good looks from Well Intended Love pops up in your mind. But he just looks odd and ill fitted in the historical setting. Given his appearance and built you would think he would give a commanding presence right? But there isnt any.
- Acting. Because the direction of the drama and comedic tones you cant exactly compare it to a lot of other dramas. But the overall feel is it seems superficial in many areas. Particularly ML, i couldnt buy into whatever he's trying to sell
- SML. Ren Hao's character started well. But if only they din screw it up as early as Ep2. It would be awesome if the tight friendship stays as friendship between FL and SML.
- The plot isnt the best. There's a problem with the execution and flow. The mystery part is poorly meshed too. I have stayed for worst honestly but I stayed for ML-FL. In this case I dont feel anything for this pairing. The feels for ML-FL here is not good. IMO the pairing here is the worst out of all ZLS dramas and you do know she has a long record of great chemistry with her costars. So i thk the script, character and plot hindered it. There dont seem to be much reason to stay on.

Glad I didn't miss it
It is in fashion lately, that Chinese dramas cause polarization. I almost didn’t watch this drama, because I’m not a fan of School dramas and also not a particular fan of Zao Lusi and I don’t know other actors. And I’ve heard that viewers are not satisfied.I was very pleasantly surprised.
First half is very light and hilarious, our ML and FL who have great chemistry, dance happily from ‘I really don’t like you, you are annoying’ to ‘ I love you so much, I can’t live without you’. Both actors did a great job in portraying their characters, I appreciate them very much. Romance is lovely, side character are great, almost everything is fun and optimistic, as youth is. But, we could see dark clouds gathering.
Second part I see as a strike of reality. Our heroes leave school and enter life. Suddenly your mate is a different person now, life is not what you’ve imagined. This is the part many viewers don’t like. Here we can see the rise of a main villain. The character of main villain is, at least in my opinion, written very good and performed brilliantly. He is full of unreasonable hate, because his family was caught and punished for being greedy and dishonorable. So he becomes even more greedy and dishonorable, but also much more careful (except for his weakness), he is hiding behind his charm and wittiness. It is quite a shock how he handles with his weakness.
The story was a little illogical form time to time, but this is practically a standard, so it didn’t bother me.
If you expect only light fun and romance and comedy, this drama probably won’t be for you. Otherwise I highly recommend it. I give it 10, because I really enjoy the contrast between first and second part and the villain plot.
I also really liked opening song, it reminded me of Chinese opera in a very good way, other song didn't catch my ear.

LOVELY SCHOOLING
From the EPS I've watched so far do good. One of the reasons I love watching Zhao lusi's dramas is because she's always lively. This drama is for those who are child at heart . The title other drama says it all. One can just imagine what it was like back then to see a female among men or vis versa. From the very start cast deliver their skills perfectly. There's no episode that goes by without laughing and not to be watched at work or school otherwise laughing will betray you. The FL arrives at college after Several attempts. Things don't usually start smoothly for her but because she's determined she eventually blends in ,she makes some friends and enemies. Also with the ML they don't get along at first but eventually becomes friends and more than that. Mystery mystery. Some people have died and there's still no evidence only assumptions . Seems like not everyone is to be trusted.From the elders to the young ones. Some are witty,some are naive some have a poker face while some have an AK 47 face . All in all their acting is good it matches the theme of the drama. The subtitles are good. One of the dramas not to be missed.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Story lines are so far not that bad, easy to follow and understand.Male lead and second male lead have a great chemistry with Female lead.
A group of other actresses and actors play very well with every scenes.
Every song matches well with every scenes.
Many people complained with female hair colors, but there are many dramas nowadays they dye with same color, but they don't complain, they complained with her hair style in this drama.
As viewer just don't need to pay attentions with little small things.
As a viewers, they need to enjoy to watch the show, don't spoil too much for deep details and turn it out for negative.
So overall, I think this drama is worth to watch. It won't get bored to re watch.
All of actresses and actors play very well with their roles. Congratulations to whole cast!!!!

Zhao Lu Si stavolta non basta
Da dove cominciare? Dalla noia. Le prime puntate sono molto simpatiche e scoppiettanti, ci sono diverse situazioni che strappano veramente fragorose risate. Ma il titolo è fuorviante: la studentessa arriva al college, ma di studio se ne vede ben poco, è solo un pretesto per una storia d'amore e vari intrighi e indagini che, però, sono poco interessanti.Le situazioni sono ripetitive e, comunque, manca la suspense. Zhao Lu Si è sempre brava in questi ruoli,ma da sola non può reggere una sceneggiatura senz'anima. Il protagonista maschile per me non è pervenuto. L'antagonista, invece, è pervenuto fin troppo: bravissimo nell'interpretare la parte di uno stalker cospiratore, sempre presente in ogni situazione peggio del prezzemolo. Ha stufato. In compenso, la seconda protagonista femminile è oltremodo irritante.
Insomma, tante fonti di noia e irritazione e pochi lati positivi, passate le situazioni ridicole iniziali. Aggiungiamoci che i due protagonisti non fanno scintille... La relazione in Tiger & Rose era molto più stuzzicante, per esempio. Qui la chimica manca, nonostante la buona volontà degli attori.
Sono arrivata fino all'inizio dell'episodio 16 per forza di inerzia ma, rendendomi conto che il sentimento imperante era la noia e che non mi interessava più sapere come continuasse, ho deciso di mollare. Fossi stata al n.25 avrei continuato, ma l'idea di sorbirmi altre 10 ore di questa pappetta mi è intollerabile. Peccato.

Enjoyable
Although it started out a little slow and I wasn’t sure this was going to be a good rom-com, it turned into one that I very much enjoyed. The ML and FL were great together and the love and trust between them progressed at a good pace. The ML got a little silly and out of character at first, but then he settled down and it became an enjoyable romance. The drama was fairly easy to follow as to the corrupt and evil plotting that occurred. Sometimes I was a bit confused but eventually it all fell into place. There were a few too many female characters chasing the ML for me, but it was only a small distraction. The support characters were great. Yan Yan and Lian Pian were cute together…would like to have seen them through to their happily ever after instead of just assuming the outcome. But even so, they were good as the second couple. The ending wasn’t as rushed as most Cdramas are, and that was a pleasant surprise. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to see a not so complicated rom-com, with a bit of martial arts thrown in, along with some drama included. But that’s just me!Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
série très belle
c'est une très belle série avec de beaux acteurs qui jouent parfaitement bien, notamment les 3 leads, que ce soit des rôles gentils ou méchants. Il y a beaucoup des scènes comiques, que ce soit avec les leads ou les personnages secondaires dont certains sont de vrais boulets !les décors extérieurs et intérieurs sont somptueux ; les costumes sont très élaborés, les coiffures également. Les bijoux utilisés sont très jolis, il y a un sens du détail dans ce drama qui est très bien.
On retrouve des éléments de décors de la série "novoland pearl eclipse" en plus du personnage principal d'ailleurs.
une mention spéciale à Xu Kai Cheng que j'adore !
l'histoire est bien construite et intéressante avec une montée en puissance des sentiments et des mauvaises actions à un bon rythme, on n'a pas le temps de s'ennuyer !
Je n'ai pas eu un intérêt particulier pour la musique de la série, mais c'est une histoire de goûts.
Pour les fans de séries historiques, c'est un plaisir, je recommande !

Too Much Villain View Point and too many production mistakes

I've been thoroughly impressed by the beauty of the wigs and costumes used even in low-budget dramas so needless to say was absolutely stunned when I saw the poor job done on the ML (Xu Kai Cheng) in this one. He looked gorgeous in Pet in Dali Temple and Novoland: Pearl Eclipse, as well as the trailer to Love is an Accident, so I know he can look good in ancient garb. But here, the clothes detracted from his looks and not only gave him that popular physique known as dad-bod but actually aged him a good few years. This was due to a poor choice of colors/cut for the costumes and color/style of the wig. There were scenes when his hair was up and the costumes more sleekly styled when he looked like himself but for most of them his sleeves seemed out of control, his hair looked unkempt and his overall form seemed sloppy. The costume mistress/master really is to blame for that.
Both leads are adorable and well worth celebrating as rom-com actors but perhaps due to the poor costuming of the ML or just the general vibe between Xu Kai Cheng and Zhao Lu Si there was a definite older brother/younger sister vibe between our hero and heroine rather than a romantic one. They have that same chemistry in their interviews so perhaps they just couldn't overcome it but whatever the cause, I didn't feel the love.
Spoilers ahead for the ending: All of that might have been overcome if not for the endless scenes depicting the villain and giving his monotonous story screen time. He was equal in the number of appearances in the tale to that of the hero and heroine and was so completely and utterly despicable I breathed a sigh of relief when he died. He had zero nuance and zero redemptive factors. The actor was good but there was just too much of this character in our story.

I enjoyed this drama and the cast did a wonderful job and i found new stars to watch the set design and clothing were perfect to the scenes. This storyline is of a girl Sang Qi (FL) who grew up on the Frontline she was a fun persons, smart in her own way, cleaver, strong wilde to fight for the truth always and has military training so doesn't act like a rich girl. She arrives in bainjing and see a hourse carriage running fast on purpose and a girl in the street so she stop the horse and save the girl, but Song Jia Yin (2FL) yells you ruined my plan who are you Sang Qi she says then all of a sudden Yan Yun Zhi (ML) comes out and stares at her" when she says doesn't anyone say thanks and leaves. She goes to eat and has a private room when someone starts yelling so she goes out & meets 2FL who trys to pull rank with Sang name and they argue about ML and make a bet who can gives him a pouch 1st by harvest moon day. She there. to joins the Imperial college to finish her brother Sang Yu dream of a school opened to anyone be it male/female, rich/poor it didnt matter as long as they wanted to learn for a better future. She gets the emperor ok, but the school Deputy Cheif-ML and school master Frey was still skeptical about her ability so they give her a test and she passes and is allowed to join and placed in the yellow group which is the lowest of classes Sky, terre, black, yellow. Her friend from back home Zhou Wen Yuan (2ML)who in the Sky class and has a crush on her so he desides to be near and protect her and enters the yellow class. She has a misunderstanding with some guys in her class due a misunderstanding that yan yan(2ML) thinks she like him due to a pouch misplaced by bai shi ML aide. He thinks she made fun so tries to get her back with Song Luo tian & wei zhan hong and land in the water then she take ML in he's mad so the guy tell her extra uniforms are in back when there she see trap and instead they all get caught. The next day is shooting arrow on house back a2ML goes first, but the horse is spooked and his foot is stuck in saddle so she shoots arrow & saves him and they becomes great friends. Still mad SLT & WZH see FL cooking for ML to say sorry, but WZH puts powder in meal then she brings to ML, but he refuses and as eats telling him its so good she gets dizzy a d looks drunk as she approaches him she collapses and then kisses him and blacks out. The next day upon her waking up they find out she was poison and it was the same poison used on her brother so with the help of Grand Perceptor Yan San Long and ML who have been investing Sang Yu murder for a few years and she learns that ML was YU's BF and so the 3 start working together with all the clues and putting the puzzle together.This is as far as I'll tell you outline spoilers. The story continue with romance and jeousley, fun adventures and some sad. People are killed unnecessary and some worth it. There are clues everywhere just need to look and pay attention to patterns. There are scandal, there are parts you yell at TV and then remember its in the script LOL.

I really didn't think this story made sense but.....
I really wanted to enjoy this drama because I do like most of Zhao Lu Si's shows. I love how she can be silly in a lot of her dramas cause she is really good at it without it being so annoying that you want to turn the show off. There were things I liked about this drama it will make you laugh and it does have some pretty cute moments in it but where they really lost me was the last 10 episodes.Why I liked this drama: All the actors did great playing their roles with the story they were given even the second male lead that will annoy you through most of the show, but he plays his character really well that you can't be to mad at him. There are also parts that will make you laugh and that you will find cute. So the Drama is really lighthearted for the most part.
Why I disliked this drama: Number one answer the STORY it just went everywhere it was like the director didn't know what way he wanted this drama to go and there were scenes that just didn't make any sense what so ever but they threw it in it anyway. Another reason is like I have already stated the second male lead he is really annoying through the whole thing. At times it would seem that the show was a bit more about him then anything he was in almost every scene ( So good thing he could play his part well) he literally can't take no for an answer. Even though you won't root for the second male lead through this at all I also felt he had more chemistry with Zhao Lu Si then Xu Kai Cheng.
So overall I wouldn't recommend this drama just because of the story but if you are someone who can look past that and just enjoy the actors then I think you would enjoy this drama.
