Annara Sumanara is my magical words healing words now
●HOW I CAME TO ITThis is my first Ji Chang Wook Drama, after a thorough recommendation from MDL’s I picked TSOM.
●FIRST IMPRESSION
I have never been to a musical but I have been to a circus show just once in my lifetime and this drama brings back the memories of my trip to of circus, there were so many acrobats, jugglers, rope walkers, clowns and a magician, filled with musicians and dancers.
The magic show at the end of the circus made me forget everything else, I know those were all tricks but it was fantastic for my childhood memory.
●PLOT VIEW
The Sound of Magic tells a tale about a mysterious magician Ri Eul, who meets two teens, stressed up from the adult pressure of society. He shows them some magic and that's the best part because we cannot differentiate between what is real magic and fake magic. If just happens to be one’s faith and belief, if you believe there is god and it is everywhere if you don’t believe in its existence it isn't anywhere. Ri Eul shows magic shows which heals the soul and takes away the pain at that moment.
●ACTING/CAST
Big applause for the casting directors. They picked an ensemble cast, not just with facial beauty but talent in singing and acting too. Ri Eul played by Ji Chang Wook is pure bliss. He takes up the job to make us feel that magic is real, he is just perfect in that magician robe and hat. His past added that extra glimpse of that pain behind the smile.
Hwang In Yeop as Na Il Deung was also a perfect choice because we have seen him in arrogant, bully roles. It's kind of refreshing to see him as a nerdy student. He flows in his character like he has been doing this for ages. Il Deung means number 1 in Korean and here as a top student, he works hard that he develops illness too.
Choi Eun Sung as Yoon Ah Yi, the name means child in Korean, also represents that a child is more attracted to magic and fairies. She is perfect, a quick wit, weak and enthusiastic. She literally made my heart feel at ease when she performed magic.
●MUSIC
About the music, all the musicals are upbeat, uplifting, and ensembled with beautiful lyrics. My playlist is updated and I got all the musicals to the video list. The musicals are a huge plus point of the drama
●REWATCH
I already watched it twice because it's short and just 6episodes so didn’t really keep engaged. It gives an accomplishment and a happy feel.
●APPRECIATION
This is my first musical drama and highly grateful for it. Its cinematography, and esthetic are just magical.
●FAV SCENE
Ri Eul and Ah Yi giant wheel magic.
Na Il Deung singing with a guitar in the fields.
●RECOMMENDATION
It is such a good drama, short sweet, and motivational. If anyone is going through any slump, they will get a magic healing session.

WHAT THE HELL WAS THIS
No because.... what was the point of this kdrama!? It ended so abruptly with a confusing ending...Is the magician a schizophrenic who genuinely thought he had real powers!? Did he lowkey seduce a high schooler!? LIKE WHAT WAS HAPPENING:::: Why did they hint at them getting together when shes clearly younger than the magician...and the poor second lead oh god you guys need to give hwang inyeop a break!!! Honestly though I really liked the side plot with the main girl and second lead, they seemed so adorable but the ending ruined it honestly...I was so confused by the ending. It felt like they just ended it because they couldn't be arsed to go on with it. The plot had some potential though...it's weirdness is what made me watch till the end LOL

too short
a high school girl who faces the world alone because her father ran away from creditors. she is bullied at school and has to work to take care of her little sister. everything in her life is sad and hopeless until she meets the magician. I really loved the story because you just can't figure out if things really happened or if that was an/her illusion, or a trick. the story takes unexpected turns a couple of times. through this experience she will learn a lot about life, society, faith and friendship. 6 episodes are definitely too short for this story! I had this feeling that everything was shortened in order to hold in time.on the other hand, this show can be watched in one (long) evening or at least one week-end. it's fun and very deep at the same time. that's perfect for new friends or lovers who need to get to know each other. you can really have very deep conversations about life, money, family and friendship while watching this. have fun!

Started Charming and magical then dragged the second half of it to boredom
Pressure on high school students especially the legacies ruins their lives also the poor kids who can't afford proper education nor proper stable life suffers from injustices all the timethat's what this drama about to sums it up
The acting was great and the first four episodes were good ,, the musical part wasn't that astonishing ,,it was fine for a first time musical drama but I think they lost interest in singing midway though the drama ,, they filled the episodes from four to six with lots of filler scenes
The story was predictable ,, the only mysterious element was the male lead ,, the magician who we didn't see actual magical tricks from him for the most part ,, it was like magic by suggestion only
he mesmerized the two teenagers into his profession that's it
I thought we would see actual magic shows or some sort of circus like show but no no ,, the plot was all about the pain of the two high schoolers most of the time and that was boring to be honest because it's in every korean drama that involves high school students
So the magical part was lacking ,, the core story was ordinary then the only mysterious character was suspicious to the last episode
His back story was obvious related to them somehow similar to them that wasn't shocking ,, I thought he had some tragedy not teenage life crises changed his course of life
Overall the drama was a bit disappointing ,, I had high hopes than this
the criminal case of it was like a filler for the plot ,, wasn't that relevant
if you love the actors you will love the drama ,, if you're biased ,, you will think logically about it

I wanted to love it so much…
I’m actually really sad I didn’t enjoy this more. It could be because this one of the dramas I was looking forward to & I had high expectations. JCW and HIY are high on my list of faves, I wasn’t disappointed in their acting here, but I don’t feel like the characters were written out that great. So much happened in the end, it felt rushed & left a few characters without closure.I did enjoy the fact that it was a musical, fantasy genre. Some songs felt misplaced or a bit off to me but it wasn’t too bad. Def a handful of beautiful scenes where the cinematography was nice. I think overall, I felt that the characters & some parts of the storyline really needed some nuance. It could be it needed a few more episodes to be flushed out all the way. Seems that many folks enjoyed it & compared it to the webtoon—I think I might have to give the webtoon a shot. But as for the drama, it left me wanting so much more & it, unfortunately, was not memorable for me.

it was not what i expected
i started watching this just because of ji Chang wook and i ended up confused as hell lmao i did NOT like that he or his character was involved with a high school student she is a minor for god's sakereviews say that there was no romance but still being an adult this invested into a teenager's life makes me cringe.
the plot was quite plain and was not surprising at all, i did not even like the one thing that it "focused" on which is the music
as the story progresses the music just became more bland and forgettable
and what keeps this drama from getting a high score from me is it's entertainment value, as mentioned before the first couple of episodes do not really bring anything new to the table. and the overuse of the phrase "do you believe in magic" was just cringe
but like if one thing about this drama that is realistic to me is that the poor female lead does not have the newest smart phone which is kinda a good thing? idk lol
i hope chang wook acts in better dramas next time i was hoping on seeing more of him

Sky Castle Meets Cinderella
I related to many things in the story and characters and so was completely absorbed in what would happen to them and how they would overcome their obstacles. I smiled, I laughed, I cried and then back again until the story ended but will always live on in my heart. This is one of those stories that comes along once in a long while. Everything about it is perfect. A wonderful and meaningful story, an exceptional cast, great direction, and all done in six episodes. Thank you to Netflix and the Sound of Magic team who came together to work on and share this magical story.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

It was so lovely and soooo touching. I am sad it only has 6 episodes. Amazing Cast and goah i cant find the words i am just sad its over now 🥺🥺Not to mention how handsome our two main male characters are. The magician is perfectly casted 100% suits him so well! I laughed, i smiles and i cried. A emotional roallercoaster ride. Gosh i really wish there would be more even if it wiuld only have been one more episode for reasons i dont wanna spoil but those who watched may know what i mean. Please enjoy watching it as much as i did.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
BRUTAL

Well, that was interesting.
I find it intriguing thatthis musical was based on a webtoon. How did they get the music into the webtoon? Probably didn't , and it was my feeling that the show would have been better without songs. I didn't care for them - they struck me as uninspired and disrupted the flow of the narrative, But it was an interesting experiment, and I give them points for trying something new, even if I personally didn't care for it.I was pretty bored by the first 3 episodes but decided to stick it out. It took and unexpected turn and got darker - and much improved - as it went on. It's a theme that I'm sure resonates strongly with Korean teens, and probably with all teens under serious academic pressure from their families. A lot of what the parents said seemed over the top, but perhaps that is really what Asian parents feel. It's not a stance that , as a very liberal American parent , can imagine doing to my child, who dropped out of high school with my blessings and was earning more at 20 than I ever earned as a school teacher. For me, the real takeaway was, have faith in your children. They can figure out their own lives better than we ca.n
As for this show, it's original and well done. And if you are not totally in love with Ji Chang-Wook by the end, I can't imagine what you have been thinking.

Annara Sumanara 'Do you believe in magic?'
A sound of magic is a drama combines elements of magic, musical, mystery. The story was a little boring at first, for some reason I didn't really feel it. Like.. something is missing. Maybe because the concept of disney kdrama is still new to me. Concepts like this are usually shown in theaters. I think it's better if the singing scene is reduced, so that the emotional story can be conveyed more. But the voice of the actors is good, the songs are also good. I like the song by Hwang Inyeop in eps 3 and IU-knees in ep 4. As the episodes add up, I'm curious about Ri Eul's character. He's so gray, I wonder if Ri Eul is a magician who uses magic tricks, or a human who actually has magical abilities. I also wonder if Ri Eul is a good person or a bad person. The story of Na Ildeung and Yoon Ah Yi is a common topic in Korean dramas. Na Ildeung with parents' demands to be the best in everything, Yoon Ah Yi who is a smart student but has financial difficulties and family problems. Hwang Inyeop's face is youthful and still fits the role of a high school student. Ri Eul serves to comfort and enlighten Yoon Ah Yi and Na Il Deung through his magic.
My curiosity regarding Ri Eul was answered in the last two episodes though not all. I didn't really like the ending where Ri Eul disappeared like magic and all the criminal charges against him were not proven. I need an answer where did he go? And the secrets behind the magic. Even so, this drama has a good message. There are many life lessons in it. worth it to watch because the duration is also short.
