Will Dong-eun be able to get her glory?
A very sorrowful and heartbreaking portrayal of bullying shown on the first episode was enough to make me grip my hands to take my own version of revenge, I mean, to make me invested with this show right away. At times, I forgot that it was not me being bullied with how ecstatic they were whenever they bullied Dong-eun. It was as if it was me being bullied instead of her, and sadness is truly an understatement.That's why Dong-eun meticulously planned her revenge to get back to them. It was utterly easy for her to just give up, but her determination was just gritting, and personally, I just couldn't feel anything but be inspired with her. In a technical sense, I loved how the pacing was done from her being kicked out of the school towards the present. Her growth as amply shown and her "love letters" to Yeon-jin just added intensity and vigor for her inevitable revenge.
This show is divided into 2 parts, with here focusing on the backstory and the planning stage of the revenge itself. Initially, I was not a fan of the split release but after watching the first part's ending with a cliffhanger and a shocking plot twist, I was able to get why they did it in the first place - to maintain the momentum of the increased tension and enthrall going in the second part. It was very successful at that aspect.
For now, I'm not as emotionally-invested on Yeo-joong's (Lee Do-hyun) story as with Dong-eun's (Song Hye-kyo). There's massive story potential shown in the first part and I know quite well that it will be tackled more on the second part. Furthermore, Yeo-joong's role at this part isn't as significant as Dong-eun, so this is why I will restrict this review on the main story.
On the other hand, this role has got to be Song Hye-kyo's best acting role as of the moment. She was really able to personify Dong-eun the best. Maybe it's because this is entirely different from her previous roles, but the stoic, almost emotionless personality was perfectly-written for this actress and she was also able to portray it very well. This project basically squashed the recurring criticism that Song Hye-kyo is a one-dimensional actress. Wasn't a big fan of hers prior, but she is able to own it and I'm being converted as a fan as of this moment. But can she transpose it on her next projects or was she lucky that a one-dimensional character suited her very well?
My other comments will be reserved for the second part, since it will be more cathartic, if not gruesome (I hope). Still, this 8-episode first part was greatly done in setting the tone for the overall show. The first part doesn't need all of the big twists and shocking events, yet I'm expecting it on the next.
The big question now lies: will Dong-eun be able to get her glory?

Sem palavras pra dizer o quΓ£o incrΓvel esse dorama Γ©. Retrata o bullying de uma forma extremamente pesada e com uma vinganΓ§a a altura, sem dΓ³ e nem piedade.Gostei muito de tudo, atuação, cinematografia, histΓ³ria...
VΓ‘rias vezes me senti ansiosa vendo, senti muito carinho por certos personagens (e um Γ³dio surreal por outros) e tambΓ©m torcendo muito para um personagem e eu adoro isso!
Um dorama muito bem feito que vale muito a pena assistir.

Acting spot on.
I would love to focus on the actors, they were terrific throughout the development of the storyline. Their body language and expression guide you to understand their emotions and allow you to understand and feel what is happening around them.The storyline develops slowly which is perfect for understanding what is going on, but the language gap caused me to rewind a few scenes to understand the subtitles on Netflix. There were a few scenes that i had wished would have been expressed a bit earlier however i believe it was to keep us on the edge.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants some action-driven acting, and especially realistic incidents.

que prazer poder ver uma boa histΓ³ria repleta de mistΓ©rios, vinganΓ§a e justiΓ§a!the glory Γ© fascinante, bem executado, contΓ©m atuaçáes belΓssimas, porΓ©m, nessa parte 1, achei um ritmo as vezes excessivamente lento, com muitas informaçáes e explicaçáes redundantes, mas... ainda sim Γ© Γ³timo!

Como pode um drama ser tΓ£o bom do inΓcio ao fim?
Review da parte 1 e da 2: Tem Spoiler pra k7Existe uma grande chance de que mude a nota final que dei para The Glory, provavelmente para algo bem maior do que 9. Esse Γ© um dos melhores que jΓ‘ assisti em toda a minha vida e eu tenho a honra de dar uma das minhas raras 5 estrelas para ele.
O primeiro episΓ³dio Γ©, definitivamente, o mais pesado, jΓ‘ que Γ© o prefΓ‘cio do que veremos ao longo da histΓ³ria. Γ doloroso ver as coisas terrΓveis que Dong-eun passou quando era nova, chegando ao ponto de te deixar ansioso, mesmo que logo na primeira cena saibamos que ela tenha sobrevivido.
Depois disso, o mistΓ©rio envolvendo cada um dos personagens deixa toda a histΓ³ria cada vez melhor. VocΓͺ sabe bem que a vinganΓ§a vai ser bem sucedida, mas vocΓͺ tambΓ©m fica ansioso em descobrir junto da protagonista todos aqueles segredos horriveis envolvendo cada um dos amigos.
AlΓ©m disso, Yeo-jeong. Acho que nunca tive tanto medo de estar torcendo por um possΓvel vilΓ£o. Tudo ao redor desse personagem Γ© misterioso. Quem Γ© ele? O que estΓ‘ procurando? Por quΓͺ infernos tem um homem obcecado por ele? O que preocupa tanto sua mΓ£e? SΓ£o tantas, mas tantas perguntas. E ainda assim, vocΓͺ nΓ£o consegue deixar de gostar dele, de querer que ele seja realmente o carrasco do enorme plano de vinganΓ§a.
The Glory Γ© um dos melhores dramas com um dos melhores roteiros que jΓ‘ assisti, e sem dΓΊvidas merece que vocΓͺ tambΓ©m de uma olhada. Tudo faz sentido e tudo Γ© muito bem construΓdo ao longo dos 16 episΓ³dios.

Almost dropped it but pushed thru
The first episode was absolutely infuriating. I was planning on dropping this 3/4 of the way thru it. I instead came to the reviews to see why I should keep watching. I was mostly convinced. I went to S2 to see how it would progress. It looked promising so back I went. I then found out the bullying was something that had actually happened. While I still found the basis of the series appalling and almost unbelievable, but knowing it was "based" in reality made me push through. I wanted to see this revenge play out because boy was it warranted!There were still parts that frustrated me to no end but overall the two leads won me over and kept me watching. Will I watch it again?Probably not. Would I suggest it for everybody to watch? Absolutely not. There are A LOT of triggering scenes especially in the first episode so be aware before you start. There are various scenes throughout that are hard to watch also.
Only you know what you can handle but know you have been warned!

Este drama es muy bueno; te hace sentir tanto... hasta el punto de querer entrar en la historia para defender o hacer algo por los protagonistas.Me encantΓ³ que aunque la mayor parte del tiempo me hizo sentir enojada y tensa por las situaciones, tambiΓ©n pude reΓrme y sentir mariposas en el estΓ³mago.
Le hubiera puesto una calificaciΓ³n de 10/10 , solo que el OST no me gustΓ³ mucho la verdad.
Eso sΓ , mi canciΓ³n favorita de este drama es "You Remember" de Paul Kim , cada vez que la escucho me saca unas lΓ‘grimas.
Hay una parte de esta canciΓ³n quΓ© en especial me gustΓ³ y va de la mano con lo que vΓ en la relaciΓ³n de los protagonistas en Γ©l drama "Espero que seas muy feliz y en cambio, desearΓa ser infeliz en tu lugar".
Espero que cuando veas este drama te lleguΓ© a gustar tanto como a mΓ.

La venganza mΓ‘s satisfactoria, por las vΓctimas y ayudada por los villanos
Solo porque existe la segunda temporada que es en la que se logra la venganza, deberΓas de ver esta primera parte que tambiΓ©n es buena y por tanto, prepara el escenario para que la continuaciΓ³n se vuelva mΓ‘s profunda y explote. Y sientas lo bueno que fue haberlo visto desde un principio hasta el final.La historia no necesita muchos episodios para introducir cuΓ‘l fue el acoso que viviΓ³ la protagonista y cuΓ‘les son sus objetivos en la venganza, pero tampoco se siente apresurada. Se muestra como pasa a ser su razΓ³n de vida verlos infelices y es interesante, como cada uno de los acosadores tiene una debilidad visible por la que jalar. Todos estΓ‘n jodidos. Como son 5 pero entre ellos mismos se echan mierda, al unos no ser tan ricos como los otros o directamente, ser uno la sombra de otro. Por eso, cuando Dungeon se va haciendo mΓ‘s visible y empieza a hacer contacto con uno de ellos, no hay esa fidelidad, sino egoΓstamente el contactado elige traicionar al grupo por su bienestar y el dinero que se pueda ganar. Es muy interesante como esto se repite mucho. Los villanos se encargan de hundirse aΓΊn mΓ‘s, al no parar de intentar salvar su propio pellejo.
TambiΓ©n, hay muchas cosas que no esperarΓas que sucediesen por las cuales esto se complica mΓ‘s.
Otra cuestiΓ³n por la que la recomiendo, en medidas generales, es que las victimas son lo contrario, se apoyan a sΓ mismas. Es hermoso como, se muestra gente que tambiΓ©n sufriΓ³ un gran trauma en el pasado o presente pero encuentra esa razΓ³n para seguir viviendo, como Dungeun, y por eso la apoyan Dungeun porque se siente que se hace lo correcto. Que ser bueno siempre, a veces solo asegura perder. TambiΓ©n que hay vΓctimas que aΓΊn conservan cΓ‘lidez, y no son solo grises, eso hace que te encariΓ±es mucho con ellas.
TambiΓ©n, tiene caracterΓsticas como objetos que la hacen diferente, como el juego de go y los tacones verdes, es atractivo como dos cosas tan simples como esas marquen tanto una serie por lo simbΓ³licas que fueron. Y no tiene sentido aclarar, pero las actuaciones son excelentes y debido a que el estrΓ©s se hace mayor en la segunda temporada, se muestra aΓΊn mΓ‘s la habilidad y el dolor que puede transmitir cada uno de los personajes. Es muy pro.
La ΓΊnica razΓ³n de que la mΓΊsica sea un 6 es que no le puse mucha atenciΓ³n pero ambienta bien.
El final de esta segunda temporada, dejo el suficiente misterio por empezar de inmediato la segunda que serΓa lo mΓ‘ximo.

Amazing acting!
I just finished it yesterday and wow... That was an amazing kdrama. I usually tend to watch series this long in 4 days or a little more, but I only took two days with The Glory, it was addicting.My favorite part of the show is definitely the acting omg, it was so good, sometimes it bothers me when they overreact but this was not the case at all. If I can highlight someone's acting in specific i would say Yeonjin's actresses. When they smiled cynically or when their faces tensed of annoyence, chef kiss.
