Song Hye Kyo really out did herself
This as to be the best drama of the year. All the actors and actress are great, they played their role so well I didn't know if I should hate them or love, they were just so amazing. The story line was great, not the typical cheesy kdrama that I'm use to. The production also top notch.Song Hye Kyo also out did her self in this role,I believe that roles like this would be best to show cast what a great actress she is.LOVED her in encounter but this role really showcased her talents, the emotions she was able to show case with her facial expression and her way so speech ?. This drama is 10/10 for. LOOKING FORWARD TO SEASON 2Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Taking bullying to another level
LIKEI don't usually commend child/teen actors/actresses but Jung Ji So was exceptionally brilliant in playing the role of young Dong Eun. I could feel myself being the one who got bullied instead. Was cursing and swearing all the time.
Chemistry between Dong Eun and Hyun Nam helping each other to live a better life.
When Do Young was intrigued by Dong Eun
When Dong Eun revealed her painful past to Yeo Jung
When Dong Eun passed a bouquet of flowes to Jong Moon
DISLIKE

REWATCH VALUE
Worth re-watching but it's too heartbroken for me especially the childhood days.

Those who don't like bullying, might not like it!
I have always been the type to like revenge dramas, and it really was worth it. The acting was actually amazing, the casting, characters, story everything was good, and the hair straightener scene in the gym it was amazing like , I could feel the rage, The bullying is shown perfectly in this drama, her overcoming everything, and standing on her feet, I like how she did her revenge! I will say it was a really good drama! And I will suggest anyone who asks which drama should I watch! And what about falling for the colour blind guy!Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
They could've either hired an older ml/classmates or casted a younger fl. The 3 way age gap looks obv
And fl/classmates are being 35 while ml is, 30(?) So they are "close" to the age they're pretending but they don't add up on the scale
Like saying someone is 170cm then bring one 175cm and one 165cm. Both are only 5cms apart but compareing those 2 they're 10 cms apart...
41fl, 27ml, 32 sfl (+2more), 37sml, 42husband, 47my ahjumma
Basically fl was closer in age to ahjummonim or oppa husband than she was to her "classmates" or love interest... Like suuurrre, she's poor and didn't take care of herself but she wouldn't age 9 years...
Liked:
The crazy
The husband
Spy ahjummonim
The Cinematography
Rooting for fl x 2fl husband
I wish I had a drama swapping plot machine so I took 3ml's plot and switched it with the eve boring ml ie the toxic unethical crazy romance
Or, switch 1ml with eunpyung manliness ✌?
Disliked:
The messed up ages between all the cast
The ml, naive, helpless, bright eyed.
The non existing chemistry between fl and ml, I started skipping their scene mentally
The obv huge age and maturity gap between fl and ml. Especially now that he wants to become her "executor" Basically pawn, savior and knight in shining armor which ironically she didn't want... ie why her 2.0
The pacing..
The cut into 2 did make me reduce 1 more point
Like it barely started and now wait for 2 months until I forget..

The torture that Dong Eun went through just because a couple of rich kids are bored. Yes. Bored. The usual reason we get is they’re either bullied at home, repressed of some sort but no. These entitled rich fucks were just bored.
There are two things that separate The Glory from other revenge dramas that I've watched.
1. I started this for the revenge but was not expecting the other characters coming into her life and caring about her the way they do. They all know her story, and no one is telling her that what she is doing is wrong. Instead, they understand, support and help her. The kindness they show her really are precious moments in the story. From the girl tip-toeing to her room while Dong Eun is studying to the abused mom, turned spy, who makes her break out in that ever so rare smile.
2. The ML is such a sweet guy and has his own story. At first, it didn't make sense to me why he was drawn to Dong Eun, but once his story is revealed, it made perfect sense. Usually in these revenge dramas, the ML comes from this happy environment and is telling the FL to stop her revenge, but not THIS ML. Hopefully, we'll get to see more of him in the second season.
Song Hye Kyo is totally slaying as Dong Eun along with the rest of the cast. They’re all bringing their A-game to their characters.
This is SO GOOD. If you like revenge dramas, give this a try.
Can’t wait for season 2!

I finally understand the title
I thought the trailer was really melodramatic & lyrical. So i skipped the show for a long time until 2 friends recommended it to me… i did finish it, it was okay for me… but i am a bit mitigated.. it sounds overrated for me…I loved the concept of this drama, and the main character is an ANTIHEROINE/vigilante that is filled with subtelty and i loved getting to know her. What i also loved is clear boundaries of our FML when she is launching her revenge plan, without revealing any spoilers, its a tight balance to hold !
BULLYING: The bullying theme was really well portrayed from high school years till the end.
BULLIES: Although there are a lot of extreme lyrical ironies in the bad characters, it was well played by the actors, but a bit stereotyped. What i did love is that even if the main perpetrator is one person, the ‘responsibility’ of the whole circle was well shown. The evolution of each bully is well played.
GRAPHIC SCENES: I understand the realism behind the very dark, sexual, vulgar, drug use & violent scenes, but i did not expect it to be so present. I am still mitigated on the necessity of some scenes…
REALISM: Often times i thought it was a soapy ‘sh*t show’ in the sense that sometimes everyone was hysteric and out of their mind and it was chaotic! What kept it a bit real was the husband, and the revenge ‘helpers’ …
THEMES: The glory explores many core THEMES, my favourite was the glory/ retribution. Although all the bullies were having their own ideal lives on the surface, it was clear from the beginning how miserable they all were… and i loved how the show was clear on how far should the revenge go…
I also liked the miracle/getting help theme, this theme is much more fluid, poetic and evolved through the show and it was this theme that created the evolution in the main character.
I feel mitigated about this show for some reason because other themes were underdeveloped. & the show really revolves around the bullies’ lives more than the victims and it gets really annoying.

I am coming for you Yeojin
The Glory. You need to watch this drama if you have not yet.
You might already know from reading the plot that it is about Monn Dong Eun it is more than that. To me, this drama tells of the surfing Dong Eun went through in high school because of Yeojin. From Yeojin and her friend inflicting wounds on Dong Eun's body to Dong Eun's obsession with getting back at her. This drama portrays what happens when a bully victim gets back at her bully.
You need to watch this.
I am waiting on Part 2 right now consider yourself lucky that you are just watching this amazing drama.

Intense and loved it!
Finally completed the series and what an incredible part 1 it was. Can't wait for part 2!Some things that really stood out to me:
- The intro theme is just so stunning visually with the haunting music and the clues. Also love the lavender colour scheme!
- The bullying in the beginning is horrid and I genuinely hope there are no real cases of people like this. I cannot imagine them as normal human beings. However, this should not dissuade anyone from watching. It's awful but still watchable as they do not linger on such scenes.
- The female lead, despite going through a terribly traumatic experience, managed to still maintain her kindness and we see hints of that. Even though she is out for revenge, she is still more moral than her bullies.
- Loved the early interactions of the intern and the female lead.
- Episode 6 ending brought tears to my eyes. I hope this ends in the best possible way.
- Even though the terrible trauma, two women manage to bond. I loved those scenes and both actresses.
- The doctor's back story is a plot twist I didn't anticipate. It explains his decision moving forward. It's also nice to see Lee Do Hyun in a different sort of character.
- I am interested to see the position the husband takes in this revenge plot.
- Are children more cruel than adults or do the adults just have more to lose? The bullies were far worse as teens. Definitely more menacing. Not sure if the student actors just did a better job or it's because the punishment as adults makes them more careful. I'm not sure if it was a directorial decision or just talent. I can't decide.
- Song Hye Kyo as Moon Dong Eun is perfect. Yes, she is more sure of herself and her plan but we see through her in her weak moments. This is a person who never overcame their trauma. Not all wounds are external. I'm glad we see these so as to not forgot why she is doing this.
It was a little ironic to see Shin Ye Eun as the bully, Park Yeon Jin, in The Glory after seeing her seeking revenge for the murder of her twin in Revenge Of Others. She definitely knows how to play both contrasting roles well. Props to her!
I would have given this show a 10/10 if it was complete but it leaves us hanging in anticipation for part 2. It was still a 9.5 as it kept me hooked for every second. I enjoyed the pacing overall. Perhaps a little slow in the final episode (I didn't mind) but that's mostly because the show was split up post-production. I have high expectations for the remainder of the show. There is a hint of a romance but not really. It's mostly a very focused plan that we are led through. The stage is set. I am ready for the revenge to be served.

ML is the Bestest GREENFLAG of the Kdrama History
An absolute impeccable masterpiece. It is the best that kdramas offer. The entire crew and cast did a phenomenal job. It is by far my favorite series. The acting was brilliant and the writing was splendid. There were so many jaw-dropping and thrilling revelations/moments from the drama that could make you feel a range of emotions: contempt, sadness, empathy, anger and exasperation. So much was going on in each episode and each moment/scene was unraveled silently and calmly but yet full of suspense. The way the protagonist was treated was heartbreaking and you could only hope that she and all the other victims involved get the happiness and justice that they deserve. The story was unfolded unexpectantly. Although the revenge plan was an excellent one, outside circumstances take place to a level I did not expect.
All I am saying is that you will enjoy every moment of this series. It makes for a fun watch. You will gasp in astonishment with each revelation revealed.
Enjoy!!

revenge deconstructed
translating bullying to the screen in a way that captures the severity of its lasting effects is no easy feat. theres a lot of films specifically out of east asia i can think of that fell flat trying to take the extreme, relentless route, which by no means voids accuracy, but often just ends up as the laziest means to an end, losing out on what ought to be the most crucial element.. the victims perspective.what makes the glory a success is in how it manages to go about it as extreme as you can go, straight up sadist levels, while using clever time-jumping storytelling to juxtapose the effects of it across different points in the victim, our leads, life. we don’t get a hero here, we get a shell of a person so fundamentally chewed up and spit back out that any instinctual human drive to continue existing is replaced with the sole emotion of desire for revenge.
to do ALLL of that without going full soap opera, with a lead who doesn’t put up any kind of facade when engaging with the perpetrators, openly telling them how they broke her, how they’re the only thing on her mind, how they essentially succeeded in owning her. like to the point where i as viewer became irritated at moments like girl why are you giving them the satisfaction still .. just to realize again who the bigger person is
or isnt, actually. because again. nothing particularly righteous about her arc. the intents are as on the table as can be. she essentially gives them a head-start by making things crystal clear. literally putting herself in positions of weakness again doing so.
you could peel down a lot of layers of the human psyche at play here, while still packaged in something ultimately as straightforward as can be. i can’t think of any revenge related piece of media that gets as straight to the essence of this uniquely human emotion. long-game sh*t. more drained than cathartic by the end creds.
