A poor promise
Maybe I shouldn't write this since I didn't finish the drama. I left it around chapter 11 or so, although my interest was lost long before that. It was a drama that promised but was just that, a promise. The story was interesting, a fairy tale and romance. Typical Disney sypnosis, but the execution is so poor. Lazy and messy writing. It misses the main point of the plot, things are not well explained or directly not explained at all. The villains don't have what it takes to be villains. The second lead man seems to be dead in life. He doesn't even have a spark of energy and his father, not to mention. The only ones who are full of energy are the two main characters, but they begin to lose it when they start to modify their personality without any real justification. It gets repetitive and doesn't move forward. You see the same thing all the time when they could have offered a dark and romantic story, they gave us something so bad it offends. So I don't recommend it.

Not Good Enough
Korean Drama " Jinxed At First " is a romantic comedy with a dark twist. The first part is lighter and has plenty of sweet, adorable moments. However, after that, things got confusing and repeatetive. The mystery was boring and all over the place and the drama kept focusing on its weakest plotlines, rather than its strongest.
The romance, in addition, was cute and the couple had chemistry, but the ending was a let down. Also, the love story was predictable and there were some overdramatic moments.
Finally, the performances were great by everyone in the cast.
So, overall, three out of ten.

Failed at so many levels
A person's ability to prophesy and turn fortunes around but absorbs the misfortune and transforms into a demon, in turn, is a great concept. This alone can carry a whole series and more. The writer had the whole world in his/her hands and the director had a good cast at his disposal. Everything was ruined due to the writer's lack of sense and the director's lack of direction. The worst actor is the male lead with his pity party all over the show which meant a lack of direction. The best acting: Kim Dong Young, Yoon Ji-Hye, Hwang Young-hee, Lee Ho Jung, Yoon Yoo Sun, Kim Bo Yun..the rest went from awful to worst and the worst was the male lead, unfortunately. Seohyun, who is usually a show stealer, played a mediocre part for a female lead but shines here and there and eventually shows her light and blinds even with your shades on. She is an absolute doll and should be treated accordingly. A better story structure, a stern direction and a lot more creativity could've made this one of the best shows ever. Awful editing, terrible directing, poor storytelling. Shame! There is also the matter of incest in the storyline which should have been resolved early on in the series.

Messy Script and Missed Opportunity
I really, really wanted to like this drama. The premise was pretty unique. Our heroine has magical abilities that might help our hero out of his misfortunes. That set-up should make for a cute story, right? Plus I absolutely loved Na In Woo in Mr Queen and was happy to see he was cast as the main lead. The first few episodes were fine. The female lead annoyed me at first but then grew on me. She’s basically like Giselle in Enchanted. The market people were over the top but the entire show was a bit cartoonish so I could live with that. The villains were pretty well portrayed, again a bit over the top but ok. And then… it almost felt like someone took over the second half of the script who didn’t read the first part. Nothing made sense anymore. The light-hearted feeling of the first few episodes was just gone.
At times, I felt bad for the actors who had to deal with this messy script. I usually don’t pay much attention to the directing but in this case, it was just jarring, scenes jumbled or randomly cut together and apparently no instructions to the actors about varying their expressions. Several comments in particular criticized the second male lead for that, but I think he was just limited by the script to be this stoic character.
I thought about dropping this show but then kept going, and it did get better in the last few episodes. But I finished it with a strong feeling of watching a missed opportunity.

Jinxed By Design
Sucked at first sight, actually. It certainly failed to leave a good first impression. The first episode was horrendous in all regards, especially when you get some context later on. Subsequently, this led to all kinds of problems with the narrative. At first, the story presented a big predicament to overcome, as described in the synopsis, what would ML do once he meet her again, but the drama decided to nullify the tension in a record time and turn the drama into a mindless slice of life with bubbly visuals. The unusual romance was never justified, the drama also attempted to play the same scenario for their romance at the end but it only made things worse by creating an unnecessary new diversion that came with it more problems, it just doesn't work unless one of them was mentally challenged. One of the drama's genres is mystery, but there was barely any and what was present was surface level cheap addition.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
maybe not for me.
all I can say is, "I tried" maybe this drama is just not for me.What I like:
1. the casts
2. the soundtrack
3. the cinematography
what i don't like:
1. good at the beginning until I felt that the story is becoming less and less interesting (personal point of view only)
2. I sometimes get confused if its a fantasy or a dark fantasy series.
3. acting is Ok but it didn't capture me.
4. a bit lacking in chemistry (Personal opinion only)
overall I think the drama could have been better if made short about 8 to 10 episode as it felt like dragging me in circles. The story probably could be made better but who am i to complain? they made it as decent as possible but for me it's not worth the time for there are other good fantasy drama out there.
( these are just my personal point of view, not the general public who watched this series.)

Lacked consistency
It appears that the drama faced some inconsistencies in its plot that affected the overall viewing experience. While the initial introduction of the plot line was promising, the latter half of the series seemed to lack direction and coherence. The story seemed to contradict itself, making it challenging for viewers to follow and comprehend. There were also certain elements that appeared unnecessary and illogical, and a clear antagonist was absent. However, despite these shortcomings, the drama still managed to be enjoyable, particularly in the first half. It may not be considered the best, but it certainly isn't the worst either. Perhaps a more straightforward and simple approach to the storyline could have made it even better.

I know almost all the actors in the drama, and I didn't not like their acting here compared to their other dramas especially the leads. The most disappointing acting is the second male lead. I can't feel his emotions, he is just like a talking standee.
The music/OST is nothing special to me.
Definitely will not rewatch this drama. I would still recommend this to those starting out in korean dramas.

Jinxed. At First. And Second. And after that too. And it just goes on and on.
Wow.Outside of an outright parody where acting performances are MEANT to be terrible ON PURPOSE in order to lampoon the source material, "Jinxed at First" is very likely the worst collective acting performance a commercial production has ever wrought.
The plot is silly, but no more so than plenty of other fantasy concepts.
The production quality is nothing special, but it's not awful either.
None of that matters. Na In Woo or Seohyun create characters to a certain degree. And it's possible that the production wanted them to act in the manner that they do here. So perhaps not all blame should fall on these two leads. But they're the faces on screen so deserve at least some. Both overplay their parts so grotesquely and clownishly that the moments when neither are on screen are a mercy to the audience. But the mercies are fleeting as most of the supporting cast and characters fit in to two personality categories - 1. fossilized driftwood. 2. hyperactive, emotionally unbalanced toddler.
Kim Dong Young has some nice moments as a loan shark with a softer side. Lee Ho Jung is solid as the arranged fiancee of one of the aforementioned pieces of driftwood. Both are significantly far down the list of supporting characters and get scant screen time, but there's some moments there. That's the extent of the positives.
Conclusion: Pass. Hard pass.

it started really good but ending was not really it
I really liked the story at the beginning and there was so much potential. Actors were well chosen und the characters were fun to watch. But the ending just gets so much ok my nerves.___spoiler warning if you didn’t watch it yet___
when the chairman found out FL could be her daughter, it should have been the first thing to tell his son. Like wtf if you know there might be chance your son‘s love interest could be his sister, especially if you don’t want him to feel love towards her, that’s the f first thing you tell him! doesn’t matter how traumatic it could be etc!!
also there was this potential where they could have made her loose her power and still not disappear. like there was this chance where she would just loose her power by saving him. but nooooo they made her disappear and forget everything. and as if that was not enough they made her still get married to the ML
don‘t get me wrong he tried his best to find her and the let her remember again but no human being in their right mind would get married that fast while not remembering the person at all
the whole amnesia thing ruined the ending… they could have done better

Sweetness
Series revolves around a girl with an ability and her desire to free herself from the confines of the world she was caged in. How she was raised to use it versus how she chose to use it was absolutely beautiful.I really enjoyed this. It starts off with a really good pace and it continued to develop in a way that allows the characters grow. There were very few moments where I felt the need to fast forward. I absolutely enjoyed watching the lead interact as well as how their relationships develop. Although it is fictional the progression of the relationship and the realistic elements of it were relatable.
This one kept me on my toes. The way the FL interacted with others and how she blossomed into her person was amazing. I loved how she became someone that everyone loved.
There was action, romance, comedy, drama and some heartfelt moments. Chemistry was very present along with my beloved happy ending.
Definitely a rewatch.

Magic in the air
This little romcom just oozes cuteness, for most of the episodes. Fun, sweet, with some dreamy looking guys as well LOL The premise interested me, and for the most part played out well, although towards the end some logic holes appeared (one big one - she & her mother tell possible futures in order to let people CHANGE them & profit by it - so WHY all of a sudden does she seem to think her boy's future is set in stone??????). Also, while not a plot hole, it annoys me when writers throw in the 'using magic brings curses on you' trope - I'm a witch myself so yeah that ticks me off (as well as this idea that a witch is somehow different than a shaman :D Nope, not really). But those minor things aside (they get dealt with well by the end of the show), I totally enjoyed this drama. I love Seohyun, & thought her perfect for this character. Na In Woo has been impressing me more with each role he's taken. The supporting actors, at least away from the marketplace, did an outstanding job.
I will say that a lot of people will not appreciate the very slapstick kind of schtick used by that marketplace group of characters. I did think it got a bit cringy at times although I liked those characters for the most part. It's an acquired taste & may account for the lackluster reviews I've seen on here.
But overall, just a pleasant, sweet, rather relaxing watch :D
