Superou minhas expectativas!
Para começar, eu fiquei bem apreensiva quando anunciaram essa temporada, pois a primeira já tinha sido tão boa que eu fiquei com medo que essa acabasse estragando a imagem do dorama, mas diferente do que eu pensei, essa foi disparada minha favorita entre as duas. Ao contrário da 1ª temporada, TOTNT 1938 foca mais nas amizades e família do Lee yeon, visto que, ele volta pro passado e encontra seus conhecidos da época. Com mais ação, esta temporada nos entrega grandes cenas de luta e um Lee Yeon mais impiedoso, além de aprofundar mais suas fraquezas e origem.Para mim o ponto principal desta temporada foi o reencontro dos irmãos gumiho, que mais uma vez eles não falharam em nos emocionar. Por ter perdido seu irmão no presente, o Yeon busca a todo momento estar perto de Rang, como se a qualquer momento ele pudesse sumir de sua visão, nos fazendo cair na risada em alguns momentos com sua pose de paizão. Porém mesmo com tanta atenção aquele sentimento de abandono do Lee Rang ainda está lá, mas com o desenrolar da trama a relação deles vai se estreitando e mesmo com desconfianças, o Rang se sente feliz por estar ali com seu irmão.
O desenvolvimento do Rang foi algo que me deu muito orgulho de ver, ele deixou de ser uma pessoa insegura que mascarava seus medos com falas ácidas e irônicas, para alguém mais transparente que assim como todo mundo, tem medo da solidão e do abandono. Ele finalmente pode viver com o seu irmão assim como gostaria e também encontrou um amor e uma família, tenho certeza que ele nunca mais se sentirá sozinho.
Também temos novos personagens que são uma parte chave no passado do Lee Yeon, seus amigos de infância e ex-deuses da montanha, Ryu Hongjoo e Cheon Mooyoung, duas pessoas que assim como várias outras se sentem ressentidas com o abandono de Lee Yeon, mas que com objetivos em comum se reúnem como nos velhos tempos e mostram que a união faz a força.
Em geral é um drama incrível, mas fiquei com dúvidas sobre o que aconteceu com o irmão do MooYoung, ele vai ficar para a possível terceira temporada? Ele fugiu? Fiquei com muitas interrogações na minha cabeça, espero que haja uma terceira temporada (que seja boa, como essa) e que explique isso.
Concluindo, recomendo Tale of the Nine-tailed de olhos fechados! É um drama que te emociona numa cena e te faz rir em outra, te deixa tenso e curioso, te dá um turbilhão de emoções. A atuação do elenco é sem defeitos e mesmo que alguns sejam novos na trama, nos entregaram uma química incrível! Não consigo não me emocionar quando falo de TOTNT, eu fui tão feliz assistindo, queria apagar da minha mente para sentir tudo pela primeira vez.

A Must Watch!(And I don't say that often)
Best drama I've seen in a ages! The Bromance was lit, the romance was fleshed out perfectly & was the sweetest mix of dramatic and beautiful, it made me want a boyfriend. 🥰The storyline was truly award winning! 👏 Every moment was pure joy, not a second wasted. They built relationships you root for and a plot that keeps you on your toes one story at a time. It was one major story threaded inside multiple well crafted small stories. All 4 villains kept you from getting bored or from one of them lacking, because there was a new threat every time you turned around. It was intense, heartwarming and had just enough humor to keep it from being too heavy. The beautiful 9 tailed Brothers are addictive, I could watch them for 10 seasons. Can't wait for season 3. The ending didn't even leave me devastated like I thought it would. It was exceptional, immaculate, a masterpiece!! It's gonna be real hard to top.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Superior sequel, filled with humour and more bromance
Tail of the Nine Tailed became one of 2020’s biggest K-dramas thanks to its engaging blend of fantasy, action, romance, comedy and horror.Fast forward to 2023 and Tale of the Nine Tailed is back. The second season unfolds with Lee Yeon and his returning assistant, Shin-joo, thrust back into the thick of drama, jumping back to 1938 and becoming embroiled in the politics and fantasy of the era. The episodic storytelling follows the same sort of format as season 1, with a variety of different spirits and demons springing forth to test their power against Yeon and his group. There’s an almost anime-like feel to some of these confrontations, especially late on when a group called the Shinigami Mercenaries enter the fold.
With no focus on the romance between Ji-ah and Yeon this time, Tale of the Nine Tailed feels far stronger and streamlined, instead turning its attention on the brotherly love between Rang and Yeon, with Hong-joo and how she slots into all of this another stand out element too. The show does a great job with its character development overall though, with the added additions of characters.
The blend of fantasy, drama, horror and comedy is much better balanced this time around, with some legitimately creative and well-written segments that stand out across the 12 episodes. This is arguably one of the best K-dramas of the year and bettering the prequel, that’s quite an achievement.

I loved it
It was unique and better than expected . I love everything about it. The drama and the stories of lee Yeon and his heroic personality and the story of rang too. I liked to see jiah at the end it gave me gosebumps of first tale of the nine tailed. I loved the music and the intros and the lee yeon x Lee yeon was my favourite. Its my favourite. The drama is cool and the boss battle was epic . I also loved the story of Korean and joseon period. Uma temporada surpreendente, conseguiram desenvolver bem a história em apenas 12 episódios, me prendeu do inicio ao fim, sem ficar um minuto entediada. No primeiro ep, eu admito que foi diferente do que eu imaginava, mas a partir do segundo ep, eu me apaixonei por tudo. SIMPLESMENTE AMO o meu bromance do Lee Yeon e Lee Rang, são meus irmãos favoritos, e ninguém os supera. Gostei da história dos três amigos, apesar do Moo Young me fazer muita raiva, ele é legal. Hong Joo, é uma querida, amei ela, me apaixonei pela atriz. Cada personagem dessa temporada foi muito bem produzido. As comédias, as lutas, os vilões, tudo maravilhoso. O Rang finalmente encontrando amor, foi tudo que eu pedi! E Yeon o homem (raposa) mais fiel que existe hahaVond je deze recentie nuttig?

No decepciona el zorro de nueve colas
Ambientada en la época de la Colonia japonesa, este drama te mantendrá en constante tensión e incertidumbre. Me gusta la historia y suspenso.El elenco es maravilloso. Amé volver a verlos en pantalla juntos, sobre todo a los hermanos zorro.
La nueva faceta de Rang, me encantó. Sana heridas del pasado y se convierte en el caballero que todas quisiéramos tener al lado. Se hizo justicia por Rang un personaje entrañable que merecía vivir una vida sin rencores y con el amor de su vida a su lado.

Rich in Myth, But Overwhelming
When I first started watching Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938, I was really into it. It felt different from the first season, which was a good thing. The show went deeper into fairy tales and mythology, which was interesting and added a lot of cool details. It was nice to see the stories and characters from these old tales come to life in a new way.However, as the show went on, I felt like there was too much happening in just 12 episodes. It was a bit overwhelming and hard to keep track of everything. By the end of the season, there were still a lot of unanswered questions, and some parts of the story didn't make sense to me. It felt like they tried to do too much in a short amount of time, and this made the ending a bit confusing.

Worth the Watch: Left so much to miss
I loved this season 10 times better than the first so if you liked season 1 you should watch this one. I also never fully finished the first season so even if you didn't watch season 1 you'll be fine. It will feel like you missed reading the prequel but beyond that, this season stands on its own.I have been enjoying the less than 16-episode format, but I wish for more after the whole issue was resolved. I got so attached to our characters so whenever they were peacefully sitting by in the yard that was my favorite moment.
The season is so well-directed, edited, and written. The story wasn't bad. I am not sure if it was great. The whole plot beyond the three mountain gods wasn't to my taste even the backstory and betrayal was a little undeveloped. I know that they did it to not stretch out the events and some people will enjoy that the drama is shorter than usual. But this one is different it's not your usual drama where leads go stupid on episode 14 I think they could have played off 4 more episodes as splendidly as they did for the entire 12.
TLDR; go watch. great show. I hope in season 3 or a future cut I can see Hongju happy with someone besides Yeon (I am shipping her with the Jindu but fine with the other one). Foxes should be the only ones in the show who can't have but one love, the others should find a happy ending, please.

A história ficou excelente principalmente com os irmãos Yeon e Rang. Unidos até que enfim.

La verdad es que me ha gustado mucho más esta segunda parte que la primera y creo que está hecha para lo mismo, me explico. Creo que lo que más llamó la atención de la primera temporada es la relación amor-odio de los hermanos y esta segunda temporada está centrada mucho en esto por lo que creo que ha sido un acierto.
Sin embargo, también siento que ha habido mucho relleno y en algunas ocasiones la trama era muy lenta y sin sentido. Pasaba algo y a los dos segundos ya no importaba y después sí, era como un círculo vicioso.
También me ha gustado mucho que se haya elegido la situación de la colonización japonesa ya que también se puede conocer un poco más de esta época (aunque la trama no se centra en eso y no se deja ver bien la situación real), pero aún así te ayuda a hacerte una idea.
Si os gustó la primera parte no dudéis en ver esta segunda, la verdad pensé que la segunda temporada no iba a estar tan bien (me dan miedo las segundas partes de las series coreanas porque no suelen ser muy buenas) sin embargo, en esta ocasión no ha sido una decepción, así que denle una oportunidad.

There is a lot more this prequel season could have told, but it certainly doesn't lack the style, passion, and its firecracker personality. I guess we don't have to argue that Kim Beom's undercut, inspired by Peaky Blinders, stole the show. I totally approve of it, I myself have been wearing such for years.🔸A wild mix of fantasy, horror, action, noir, comedy, and period drama, a sneak into the culture, history facts, indigenous Korean spirits, zombies, martial arts, and time-traveling, - you can't pull that off flawlessly, but you can make it a passion project with fire in each and every actor's eyes, sparkling a fire in mine as well. How do actions in the past affect the future? How did Ki Yuri end up as a wild gumiho in Siberia if she was a Korean independence movement activist blowing up Japanese officers with regular non-magical TNT? Who the hell is the first mountain god? Even though we didn't get to learn any of that, it doesn't diminish the joy of watching the two reunited brothers trying to beat each other's arse, fooling around, fighting, learning to show their appreciation for each other, bonding, and parting to different centuries to never ever meet again.
🔸The magnificent instrumental scores of the composer Hong Dae Seong already deserved an Oscar in the first season. They are breathtaking masterpieces no less significant that those in Park Chan Wook's movies. You won't find such tremendous works in other K-dramas. I haven't heard anything like them. The Youth of the Mountain Gods, Parting at the River of Three Crossings, Sad Fate, The Brothers - these instrumentals won't leave my "On Repeat" Spotify playlist soon. Or ever.
Tale of the Nine Tailed is that type of drama that depends heavily on the actors charisma and unique production style. With a few writing improvements I will be happy to see the next season. I have a special thanks for making 1938 a separate show, now it won't get erased from Letterboxd.

THIS SHOW CAN'T BE BETTER!!!
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!! This drama is so freaking good. I really just can't explain in words. Everything from the beginning to the episode I'm currently watching (I had written this review when I was still watching it), you know it's still on-air so yeah, I can't judge its ending but goddamn! The fighting scenes are FUCKING DOPE!!! LIT AS FIRE!!! Broooooooooo, Lee Yeon is so damn hot in this season, I mean hotter than the previous season, he has red hair and goshhh!!! The way he fights, smirks and wins everytime, a new side has been unlocked, his fun side. He is so strong btw and if we start talking about the new characters like first, Hong Joo! God, this woman literally won this show, she's so powerful and smart that omg, and I love her obsession for Lee Yeon and the actress who's playing her role is such a good actress, I must say and goddamn the way she fights, I love her powers and her fashion sense too. Now, the kind of villain, Moo Myeong, I like his power like he says, "fire" and it starts burning, other than that I don't like him, huh. Now, about Lee Rang, I really hope that somehow or anyhow, he stays alive in the present too, I hope that some magic happens and he comes alive, he literally deserves the world. His entries are really worth it, remember in season 1, when he transformed when he came back after meeting Ji-Ah and this season when he comes to save Lee Yeon from Moo Myeong in the created world of the tiger, he's so hot but I must say that I didn't expect his love story, I'm more interested in the bromance between Lee Yeon and Lee Rang because they are almost always bickering, I really love them. But that mermaid scene when she comes to save Lee Rang from those invisible fighters, it legit gave me goosebumps, I was like- yeah she deserves him but when they kissed, I felt off-key like I really wasn't anticipating this nor I would want that. Anyway, I like the trio they formed this season, showing friendship thing but Idk what will happen next, I feel like something is gonna go wrong for at least the next 1 or 2 episodes, but the fact that Lee Yeon is so funny this season makes me laugh fr. But I am missing Jo Bo-Ah so much, I really hope she comes for at least 5 or 6 minutes, just a guest role will do but please come soon. Lee Yeon is literally incomplete without his Ji-Ah :(Well, It's still on-air so, let's wait more but I must talk about some of its big plot like the one when Lee Yeon went blind and he had to fight with some thugs in the garden of Myoyeongak, goddamn!!! It was legit impressive, he could not see but the way he fought, goddamn, even with eyes he could not fight like that and Hong Joo tried to distract him by turning on the music but the way he ended everything right there, TERRIFIC! Even if I'm watching this right before my end-sems, I still don't regret it because it actually deserves my all. And yesssssss!!! That scene from the parlour when people were turning into worms, when Lee Yeon and Lee Rang came to join in for work and showed how handsome they were and the old ladies were going crazy, I was like, "same-ahjummaaa-sameee". They are so good TT.
The FINALE is soooooo damn good, like OH MY GOD!! It's been so long since I finished it so I can't exactly pour my thoughts completely here but guess what, I still haven't deleted the last episode of it as It's so good, I loved it so much and I still love it. I've put it as my most favourite k-drama now, Idk, leave everything, this is the best one out there. Personally, my favourite characters are Lee Yeon and Hong Joo, I love them so much. Lee Yeon's brain and his powers then Hong Joo's beauty and strength. Both of them are brilliantly powerful and amazing. And the very godly moment of Lee Rang when he awakened all his powers, MY GOD!!! OMG OMG OMG!! This whole show got me screaming, throwing my hands in the air and smash bed everytime and each episode is so good and even the last episode is left on the brick of some curiosity about the original mountain god. Well, I just wanna say that I love this show so much and yeah that scene, how could I forget to mention about it here, when Lee Yeon used all his powers to kill the mountain god of Japan, MY GOD GOD!!! That scene was epic, I love Lee Yeon for that. Well, with that, I'd like to end it here and say that everything about this whole show was amazing and I'm glad that they let Ji-Ah show up finally in the end of the finale episode. Thank you so much, Tale of the nine-tailed 1938, I enjoyed every second watching it.
