Solid Second Installment
So.. I fear what has ‘ruined’ this season for most is that the shock value is essentially gone. The promos say bigger and better and more of this and that, but what season two is-Is a continuation. I don’t see it as giving any less or more. It actually makes me angry and confused that so many act like this season is horrible. When in fact, it is a cohesive season that is seamless from the first. Sure it isn’t perfect, but it isn’t horrible at all.
I think many people just say it is crap because the cliff hanger, and the fact that it isn’t season one. Like did they want the two of the seasons to be their own entity? Sure, that could have been the case I gues.. but this is a continuation and there will be another one. So I don’t see the problem with the fact there is a cliff hanger. People are impatient and blood hungry I guess. The argument of not enough kills is concerning to say the least. Like you need to watch red every five seconds, my goodness. This has a story to tell, and sure it isn’t finished, but I say it does a good job at building characters and relationships.
The difference from the second season is that there is hope here. It makes the first season better to me, and I will say that season is a lot better- but this one is not garbage. People just jump and have some mob mentality to say it is horrible to feel good I guess! You can’t tell me you wasted seven hours of your time. Goodness. You chose to binge watch it, the fact something can be binged means it is worth a whole lot more than most. It was engaging enough, it wasn’t BORING! THAT says a lot. The fact it was a good sit down watch was A LOT!
I will clean up this review but it needs to be said. This drama is good, not boring, and has a great cast of characters.

The world is dull and mundane, and Squid Game should not be one.
The legend is back! The drama is fast, intense, exciting and action-packed. It is good that there is no romance or mature content because many young ones are watching. The writer is suited to write dark and psychopathy dramas, and not mundane, romance stuff. Ignore the critics. We cannot lose a talented writer/director like you. This is the best drama in 2024. It is a must-watch drama. It makes everyone wait for 3 years. Thank you Netflix for making our end of 2024 a very exciting and happy one.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Don't Trust Stranger
The story is the continuation of the 1st season where the main character wants to take revenge. Not only that, but the others who's survived also help him to find the squid game place in order to stop them since lot of people already dead by playing the game. The game is similar to 1st season but most of it are a new game.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
My joy knew no bounds when I first got to know that season two was coming and the first episode would be released on December 26th.
New adventure, new learning ,new joy ,new excitement, new fear .But season one and season two are the things I'm most into I'm afraid it's this doll.
I have no shame in saying that after watching a few episodes of season one I was pretty scared and then sat down to watch season two.
I'm a big fan of Korean dramas I've watched so many Korean dramas so far Fifty percent had sad endings.
Korean dramas are like an addiction and Squid Game Season 1 and Season 2 are like getting into that addiction even more.
You might dread watching Squad Game Season 1 or Season Two episodes, but you can't quit.
This fear will make you more excited about what might happen next.
But what I hate the most is that season 2 is only being shown once a week
The problem I'm having with this is that I can't wait, I'd say Season 2 at least twice a week.
Seong Gi Hun, a.k.a Player 456, has reentered the Squid Game after winning at the conclusion of the previous game. Now armed with the knowledge of what the game is really about, he seeks to save the lives of other players and end the game once and for all. But those good intentions may fall flat in the face of millions of won.
Now let's see where the story goes
The funniest thing I found was the kiss scene in Player 230.
The way he kissed the voating button always gets me. That kiss seemed like it had so much feelings in it.😂
Squid Game Season 2 Another thing I find funny is Hyun Joo's iconic slap. The Slap was just so satisfying, it was the best thing she could do at that moment. such a smart character, she was also so claim and knew what to do at the critic moments.

Enjoyed this season
No matter what others say, I personally enjoyed this season. Finished it in one go. I actually prefer this season more than the previous one. My stress level and anxiety were jumping up and down just like was T.O.P was jumping up and down in this series 😂. The story was very similar to the previous one (I mean the story of the characters). The leader participating, idontgiveafck type people dying, bad choices and betrayal. Witing eagerly for season 3.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

A second season that is too mediocre.
Since I'm a fan of survival series, I watched the first season.Although I didn't like it because it didn't bring anything innovative other than children's games, I didn't think the first season was so bad. But this second season... ugh, there's nothing I can rescue by being honest.
Firstly the protagonist had already played this game before he should have learned that no one can be trusted in this game. His own best friend betrayed him and yet he was stupid enough to fall into the 001 player trap again? There were strange things about him, he must have caught the signs. But it was too stupid and he fell again. At the beginning of the first season, it seemed to me that he was a character with too much innocence to think that people in a game like this have no limits when it comes to greed and morality, but when he saw the first game past, he must have been more intelligent and cautious. He changed my mind about his character and I think he's just a stupid person who shouldn't have come back in if he wasn't prepared for this.
There is also no surprise factor as happened with the old man in the first season. We already knew that player 001, who is part of who runs the game, was not a surprise factor. We knew he would come in to play, even so he was not as clever as the old man, I don't even understand how anyone suspected him since he had attitudes that anyone would realize he was an untrustworthy person.
The games were almost the same so he didn't bring anything new in this installment either.
Speaking of players in general, I thought that by having more heartbreaking stories they could bring something new. However, they were too weak compared to the players of the first season.
The soundtrack that wanted to introduce forced humor seemed irritating to me. It seemed like he was watching a poorly done Slam Dunk game.
TOP's character was completely unnecessary, it wasn't funny or scary enough. I know they wanted to parody his personal controversies but it didn't work for me at all, I never laughed at his stupid jokes.
The old woman who had survived the Second World War had potential because of her past. But in the end she was a very cowardly woman. She clearly had good intentions, but a character of her caliber must have been more fearless and cunning.
The North Korean girl was completely missing, I didn't really understand her intentions or what she intended either. I think they wanted to add a North Korean character like the first season, but her character is too weak compared to the North Korean girl from the first season. She lacked a lot of the cunning of the girl from the first season.
I can continue talking about the characters but they were all so weak and forgettable that I will honestly save myself from talking about them because they didn't bring anything new.
The policeman? Meh, it completely disappeared compared to the first season.
Honestly, there is nothing redeemable, not the soundtrack, not the suspense, not a surprise factor and not the performances, which surprised me a lot. Because while the first season didn't catch me enough, the quality of acting was top-notch.
Everything here is wrong. When you do a second part you must keep in mind that it must be better than the first, not worse.
But I think the producers didn't even put in the effort. They spent more money promoting the second season than making a decent second season at least.
Honestly, since the protagonist is so stupid-minded, I don't think he's going to see the third part. Since I think it's going to be even worse than it is, and that's saying a lot.
The message? There is no message. Point.
Honestly, it bored me so much and everything seemed so stupid to me that I didn't feel the need to want to see the third season and how all this will end.
I think the squid game only had to have a single season because there wasn't much else to indigest in the story but Netflix was greedy and that greed made them run everything wrong.

Talented actors a good sequel to the previous season...
I understand my statement that the season 2 is a good sequel to the previous season may seem shocking to many but there are a lot of parameters i evaluated the squid season 2 on to come to this conclusion .1.I doubt the makers ever wanted to make a season . Squid game was most probably a limited series. So if we keep that in mind the story is pretty well thought out with no gaping holes that i could catch on
2. I watched this with low expectations. I have noticed a pattern, particularly in kdramas season 2 hardly ever lives up to the expectations of season 1. Best example of this is sweet home .
3. I did not expect them to just show another season with just games, like would see another group of players, playing the games. I wanted a continuation of gi hun's story like what he did with the money , background of masked man's life and most of all did jun ho survive or not. I got that ,so i am satisfied.
WHAT I LIKED ABOUT SQUID GAME 2
1. The armed rebellion. It was soooo cool
2. The masked man .......
3.The gangster and his lackeys
4. Gong-yoo
5.the trans girl. Park sunghoon in the armed rebellion oh lord have mercy
There is a lot , i could write another paragraph but would end up spoiling a lot
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE
1. The music. It was out of place
2.the rapper aka the evil character of this season. He didnt give off evil uk he was lame stood out of place. Really annoyed me whenever he came up. I had to skip all of his scenes. Compared to him Deok su was a much more developed character.
3. The side characters - i liked most of the side characters ngl but there were few that we not required at all maybe in the next season but not in this one.
1. The guys who daughter has cancer
2.the north korean mom
3. The min su gye
4.pregnant lady.
Under-uses Characters - Too many characters, but none leave a strong impression. Big names like Im Siwan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Gyu Young, Lee Jin Wook, and Wi Ha Joon had noooo role to play. They were just there
honestly compared to the season 1 where the characters looked genuinely scared these characters didnot act that well..????
4. In season1 people looked like they were fighting for there lives.. They looked scared when sm1 died. Here well u need watch the season to understand.
Finaly i would like to conclude i liked the season, acting was good. The games were good tooo . Yall giving reviews the games were bad. THEY JUST PLAYED 3 GAMES IN THIS SEASON AND THEY WERE FUN. NO SERIOUSLY IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO BORING IF THEY JUST REPEATED THE GAMES FROM THE PREVIOUS SEASON. For me personally the season 2 did as well as season 1 if not better. Well i hope you watch it

Season 2 was better than season 1
Season 2 of Squid Game delivers a significantly more engaging and layered narrative compared to its groundbreaking predecessor. The show takes the foundation laid by the first season and builds upon it, introducing not only new challenges but also delving deeper into the lives of the players and the enigmatic masked soldiers. By intertwining their stories, the season creates a richer, more emotionally impactful experience that keeps viewers on edge from start to finish. One of the standout aspects of this season is its ability to expand the scope of the Squid Game universe without losing the core elements that made the first season so compelling. The introduction of subplots revolving around the masked soldiers was a particularly bold move. These narratives not only humanize some of the antagonists but also shed light on the inner workings of the games and the moral dilemmas faced by those enforcing the rules. The juxtaposition of their struggles against the players’ desperate fight for survival adds a new dimension to the show, making it more than just a tale of survival—it becomes a layered exploration of power, loyalty, and sacrifice.
The performances this season are notably superior, with the actors delivering nuanced portrayals that make the characters more relatable and memorable. The players’ backstories are given more screen time, allowing viewers to form deeper connections with them. The desperation, hope, and camaraderie that arise as the games progress feel more visceral, thanks to the cast’s strong performances. Similarly, the masked soldiers, who were mostly enigmatic figures in Season 1, are portrayed with greater depth, making their roles more compelling. Their struggles and moral conflicts add a layer of complexity to what might have otherwise been a straightforward antagonistic role.
Visually, the show maintains its trademark style, blending the surreal and the brutal in ways that continue to captivate. The set designs for the games are even more imaginative and intricate this time around, further immersing viewers in the twisted world of Squid Game. Each game feels like a meticulously crafted piece of art, designed to not only challenge the players physically and mentally but also to serve as a commentary on societal issues.
Despite its strengths, the season does have moments where the pacing feels uneven, particularly when transitioning between the games and the subplots. However, these minor flaws are outweighed by the show’s ability to keep viewers invested in its characters and their fates.
While I don’t personally anticipate rewatching Season 2, it is undeniably a commendable continuation of the series. It successfully expands the narrative while staying true to the themes and tone that captivated audiences in the first season. For fans of Squid Game, this season offers a deeper, more emotional dive into the harrowing world of the games, making it a worthy follow-up to the original.

Better than the first one
I finished this yesterday and I still can’t stop thinking about this! For me it’s crazy that the second part is actually better than the first part bcs usually second parts of a movie or drama series are not as good as the first one. Squid Game proved the opposite, that with a better story and more amazing characters, you can definitely create a good story.
Here are my favorite things and reasons that made season 2 better than season 1:
1. In this season it’s not about just playing the games. Now Gi-hun is revolting against the creators of the game. And while he is in the games, there are many unexpected twists for example with new games.
2. Gong Yoo’s performance in episode 1 alone is worth watching it! From the bread vs lottery concept, to the russian roulette scene, his performance was impeccable!!!! What an amazing actor he is and how well he played the suit man!!! His final scene is the most epic scene of a character in a Kdrama in history!!!! The way he looks into the camera and blows his head off!!! I still cannot get over that scene! How can they make such a brutal scene ao aesthetically pleasing!!!
3. The rest of the drama together with this scene, has amazing cinematography!!!! I feel like it is even better than in season 1.
4. Less gory! I think this connects to the 3rd point. Thankfully they cut some gory scenes and now they focused more on the cinematography! In season 1 there were more disturbing scenes of the victims and how they took their organs out. In season 2 there is only one such scene Thank God! Those scenes were the reason I didn’t like Squid Game so much.
5. T.O.P. from Big Bang is playing a drug addicted Rapper names Thanos hahaha so basically he is playing himself!!!! This is genius!!! And his acting skills are AMAZING!!!! He is even cooler than I thought! In season 1 there was a gangster and his minions and that annoying woman who gut fcked by him. And they were both SO ANNOYING!!! Thanos was less annoying and he brought some funny elements into the dark twisted story 😂 Although he is obviously a bad character, he is one of the bad guys who make a series more interesting due to their unexpected behaviour. I was really sad when he died tbh…
His friend is more annoying and an actual douchebag! The way he killed the pretty girl omgggg! A frigging heartless monster! Thanos would have never done that!!!!
6. In general the characters this time were far better and more interesting than in the last season. Apart from Gihun I only liked the North Korean girl and the Indian guy. The gradnpa turned out to be one of the shittiest characters in the history of dramas!!! This time we have the frontman as 001 who is imo still more interesting than the old man. Then Gihun’s friend is more loyal in season 2 than the friend he had in season 1. That man was a bastard! He literally deceived the Indian guy!!!
Then obviously Thanos is much more fun than the gangsta guy from s1, and the shaman might be creepy but she is much more interesting than the woman who fcked the shaman. Then we have the pregnant gurl who is still a nice replacement of the North Korean girl. Maybe not as cool as her but still good enough. And ofc we have the transgender woman!!! Now this is a thing that is kind of a taboo to show in Korean dramas. The LGBTQ+ community and topics around it are not talked about in Korean society much and you can see that by the way the old woman thinks about it. However she finally accepts her and even saves her life in the last episode. So I see it as a sign to tell the Korean society to be more understanding and accepting of the LGBTQ+ community!!! And seeing how popular this series is not only worldwide but also in Korea, I hope that it will bring some level of acceptance! I think the relationship of the Trans woman with the old woman is very crucial and also smart from the producers! Genius!!!
7. More Korean games!!! In season 1 the Dalgona game was the only Korean game i think. And squid game ofc. But Red Light Green Light, Tug of War, Marbles are all games we know in other countries too. This season they changed most of the games! So far we have only seen 3 games and 2 of them were new but the second round consisted of many games and all of them were Korean, so brandnew for us! Except maybe the spinning top! But the episode with round 2 was one of my favorites as well! And then round 3 was also kind of a new game! We do have carousels but seeing the formation of groups was new to me. Although that game was a bit boring it had some twists as well. Thanos actually made that game more interesting and fun 😂
So far these were all of the good things i think. Lets have a look at some of the not ao good things or stuff that I didn’t like so much:
1. Less gory yes but they still kept the scene at night where they kill each other with forks… That scene was already disturbing in season 1 and was disturbing again in season 2… I wish they changed that scene in season 2 and made sth unexpected out of it…
2. They used the opening song of Reply 1988 in the scene of the mini games!!! I didnt like it that much because for me that song strictly belongs to Reply 1988!!! Like how dare they take it and make it into a squid game soundtrack!!! I hope people will forget about that song in that scene. And yes I do think it was a tribute to Reply 1988 as it starts with the Seoul Olympics in 1988, and the second round of 5 mini games does remind of the Olympic Games somehow. I still didn’t like it tho. They already paid a tribute to Reply 1988 in a scene when a character says they live in Ssangmun dong, the streets where Reply 1988 takes place. So imo that was enough tribute.
All in all, I really liked Squid Game season 2 and it was more than what I expected!
