That was... a show I watched
This show is fine. It's just... fine. To be honest, I wasn't sure whether to archive and review it at all or whether to let it fade away and never think about it again. But I have to admit that it did get one or two chuckles out of me so I suppose it at least deserves to be remembered for that.The plot here is basically non-existent and the editing is somewhat disjointed, but the series does have one strong point - its characters. I do find them all genuinely interesting to some degree and I think there's a lot of potential for a really good story starring these people, but this unfortunately just isn't it.
Such a short runtime just isn't a good fit for a story with a large-ish ensemble cast and the script simply isn't good enough to make up for that disadvantage. The characters therefore all end up feeling fairly underdeveloped and unfamiliar.
I really wanted to root for them but since the audience are given so little time to get to know even the leads, it was frankly quite hard to care about any of the characters at all.
Don't get me wrong, the show never does anything particularly offensive or problematic, it's honestly just... boring. Which is almost worse, in a way.
If you're looking for something completely devoid of substance to put on in the background and which will occasionally make you chuckle a little bit, then you might as well pick this show.
You might just as well pick literally anything else though, too.

Oh Boarding house jest... nawet nie wiem jak to ująć.
Ogląda się szybko i dość przyjemnie, ale nie za dużo się tutaj dzieje. Fabuła jest krótko mówiąc nie specjalnie wciągająca, ale dla niektórych momentów warto sobie obejrzeć. Gra aktorska jest jak najbardziej w porządku i ratowała poziom całej serii. Nie sądzę żebym kiedyś jeszcze wróciła do obejrzenia tego, ale jeśli lubicie spokojne, szybkie w oglądaniu i niezbyt rozbudowane bl to może to być coś co mogę wam polecić ?Mamy tutaj sporo uroczych momentów, ale jak wiadomo, nie wszystkich one zadowolą. Sprawdźcie sami czy "Oh! Boarding house" jest czymś co wam się spodoba!

Not bad, but hard to watch.
The first episoded are really difficult to watch and i wanted to quit a lot of times watching this drama. Super stereotyped, irrealistic, toxic vibes and mostly, the character of the protagonist and his actions gave me a really hard second hand embarassment for at least half of the drama. If you continue it tho there is character development, but i think the other guy falls in love too fast, so it looks irreakistic since he hated him moments before and was reallu uncomfortable with him. At least in the end it went better, so if you go after the fist half of the drama isn't bad, but i wouldn't say that i highly reccommend it. Even tho there are some cute scenes that made my heart melt, i think i watched better dramas. I still won't put less than 6,5, cause after all i liked the second half of the drama.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
One of the Korean BL series that I recommend
The storyline is quite interesting because this is only a short BL series. The series is only of short duration and few episodes, but is made with an interesting and easy-to-understand storyline. the actors also act very well because they are immersed in the role. the cinematography effect is also very good. I hope that in the coming year there will be more BL series that are made with a long duration and also with many episodes.The kiss scene made me melt. one of the best BL series kiss scenes in my opinion. I also hope this series has a season 2 and also with the same actors.

The pacing was all over the place. Finishing last episode, I was truly confused when they even fell in love with each other. I don’t know why, but it worked for me. Even the “over the top” 2nd lead baking his cakes for 80% of his screen time - it was just ridiculous, and it worked. Rather than poor directing skills, it felt more like a style that the director and writer purposely went for. Which might be just my delulu thinking, but the facts stay the same - I enjoyed it, whenever it was intentional or an accident.
What I truly appreciated were the interaction of the main characters with supporting ones - it added slight realism to this unrealistic scenario. The teacher-student dynamics were especially fun to watch.
I truly enjoyed the acting. Shin Yong Seok as a naive, innocent and nice Seol Won made me laugh with his antics and persistent behavior. Im Sung Kyun’s more serious scenes impressed me the most. Acting silly on screen is one thing, but the few lines that had more of a sincere feel to them were delivered just the right way.
Editing and overall production quality was on par with other K-BLs - be slightly higher.
Overall, it was strange? But the type of strange that I enjoy. I was not sure what I was watching, but I was on board. Im Sung Kyun being quite an eye candy with some nice acting skills helped a lot.

This drama is an absolutely amazing thing to watch and fi you haven't watched it then you should watch it at least once but if you have watched it once then you should probably watch it again because its just so amazing and it has a little bit of a rollercoaster of emotions but all the best dramas do.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
