Crazy little thing called love but gay
If you remember the famous Mario Maurer movie crazy little thing called love, then you have got the storyline. It's pretty much the same except no one is "ugly" and has a glow up. There's nothing much to say about the storyline. It's pretty much bland.But there are very much good things about the series. Firstly Chen. Wow. 2moons never did justice to his skills and acting. His golden skin was shining. He played the character of a socially awkward, introverted guy reallllyyy well. The guy who played Daoneua is also a good actor. But as usual their kisses were awkward. Mainly Daoneua was awkward. Except that their very few interaction in the whole series was pretty cute and sweet.
The guy who played Maitee. I watched one of his series where he was a serious studious guy. But this character suits him more. I hope I'd get to see him in this kind of free fun guy more. Overall it was good. The ratings are fair. There were so many familiar faces as well. Good for one time binge watch. Also, you can skip some scenes and still will understand everything.

The series isn't perfect, but more than enough to satisfy my liking
I've read lots of reviews saying how this series is the "typical Thai BL" and yes it is.However, that doesn't automatically mean it's bad.
Lately, I've been watching some heavy on heart and filled with drama kind of shows, so because of that, it was really refreshing for me personally to come across this light-hearted and sweet mini series, taking me back to the times, bringing me back the feeling I got when I first started watching romance dramas. The chemistry between the main leads isn't something to joke about and believe it or not it made me giggle like an absolute shameless idiot, but I don't regret that cus it was worth all that.
On the other hand, I do understand why some people might not think the same as me; as there were some scenes that could've definitely been improved and have been executed in a better manner. As for the plot it really was just a simple one, which didn't seem to be many peoples cup of tea. And neither was it mine, but I thought maybe I should give the series a go; making that the best decision I have done in a while.

The phrase "idiots in love" took on a whole new meaning in this series
This show has been on my "to-watch" list for over a year, but I didn't have a chance to actually sit down and watch it until a month ago, and... well...Ever heard of the phrase "idiots in love?" In this series, Dao and Kluen were idiots and then some. One is a dummy who harbors a secret crush , while the other is a blockhead who has trouble expressing his feelings. The two go to the same school, and are in love with each other, but both are too scared to admit it.
They seemed destined to never cross paths, until one day, when Dao was about to leave to study abroad. Encouraged by his best friend, he confessed his feelings to Kluen.
Kluen response? "Have a safe flight."
*Facepalm*
Nontheless, Dao took that as a sign of rejection and was devastated, and left Thailand with a broken heart.
A year later, Dao returned to Thailand for college, and lo and behold, who did he see? Kluen, the very same guy who (in his POV) rejected him. Bad enough that they had to take part in the school pageant together, but they also had to live in the same dorm for the duration of the competition.
Clearly, someone forgot to check their horoscope that morning. (j/k)
Thus begin a "second chance" type of love, in which Dao tries to forget his "unrequited love" for Kluen and simply be his friend, while Kluen does everything (from being helpful to just downright possessive) to get close to him. That is, everything short of confessing his feelings.
I rarely have a love/hate relationship with a series, but this one falls under that category. Watching this show was like going on a rollercoaster ride. My emotions went from "awwww, that's so sweet" to "FFS, just kiss already!" to "why am I wasting my time on this show?" to "it's about d**n time someone does something" to "Jesus effing Christ, can you two be any dumber?"
There is something about the way Dao and Kluen interact that makes the whole angsty love journey very realistic, and you can't help but root for them. At some point, it becomes obvious to everyone (but Dao) that Kluen was hopelessly in love with him. I mean, the guy used his mom's birthday to lure him to his house. And really? Did Dao seriously think he changed his own bandage and applied the ointment while he was drunk? *smh
On the other hand, the pace of the story is somewhat erratic. The beginning and middle were fine, but then towards the end, everything became rushed. The conflict, resolving of the conflict, and the love confession all happened within two episodes. It's as if the screenwriters realized they'd taken up 6 episodes with the storyline, and not wanting to cut anything out, simply wrapped up the story quickly.
Despite everything, Star in my Mind is a decent series. Sadly, character development was poorly written, but I think it had to do with the fact that the series only had 8 episodes. The acting is not bad, but if Dunk and Joong want to keep up with their fellow GMMTV artists they'd need to step it up. Maybe take some acting classes. The one saving grace of this show would be the OST. These two should form a duo and aim for the music market. Their vocals are so well-matched.
Overall, this series is not bad, but it's not particularly good, either. Compared with other BL series that aired in 2022, and the ones that are currently airing this year, there are many better options. Hopefully, JoongDunk's acting would improve in the future.

There were goods and there were bads...
After watching all the 8 episodes, I can see that there's a lot of good things about it, and also some bad things about it at the same time.Let's start off by talking about the director himself, New Siwaj Sawatmaneekul. He is one of the most popular Thai bl series directors. I've watched many of his bl series including Make It Right, Love by Chance, Love by Chance 2: A Chance To Love, and War Of High School. For this series, I feel like it was pretty okay, but compared to other bl series like Bad Buddy, it is nowhere near it. The plot was a little too simple for me, but on the good side, it was very easy to understand, and it was quite fun to watch. And because of that, I had decided to give the story a 7/10.
Now let's move onto the Acting/Cast. I really like the casts of this series a lot. The one thing that I want to change would be to give Pawin Kulkaranyawich (Maithee), and Satang Kittipop Sereevichayasawat (Sean) a bigger role, it would be amazing if they can be a side couple. Why? They have a good chemistry, and everything. Satang and Pawin's cuteness and personalities was just amazing! I also like the main characters of the series as well, Joong and Dunk did an amazing job, and I can see that they had worked really hard to portray their characters. Another thing that made me really happy is that 2 members of the Studio Wabi Sabi was able to make an appearance on this series as mentors. Both of them were on my favorite list since the time I saw them on Love By Chance. And all of that lead me into giving the acting/cast a 9.5/10.
The music of the series was amazing! I really like both of the OST! Joong Archen, and Louis Thanawin got amazing voices. The background music was also perfect, so it's definitely a 10/10. And for the rewatch value, I'd give it a 9/10. Overall, almost everything was perfect. Good job to the director New Siwaj, and all the casts in this series including Dunk, Joong, Pepper, JJ, Winny, Thor, Pawin, Satang, Ciize, Earn, View, Mek, Mark, Samantha, Yacht, and all the other casts and crews that made this series amazing!

pretty enjoyable and entertaining show???
tbh i read some of the reviews on here before watching the show so my expectations were below 0 when i started it ... but it was surprising how many of these reviews don't meet with the series i've watched??ofc there are some tropes which are not that enjoyable (miscommunication mostly! some annoying characters —phoon ?— and stupid misconceptions) but overall the shows pretty entertaining and enjoyable?? it's not a difficult plot to follow, the characters haven't gone through hell (lol) but got their own backstories and own problems they've got to deal with.
the acting was not the best but it was okay for me, the chemistry between the leads seem to be better pre-relationship than after they get together?? or maybe it's because i usually like the pining more ?? LMAO
the ost is cool, the script is light and easy to follow, the characters are cute and lovable (most of them!!), there are some nonsensical scenes but mostly it's pretty okay :D
btw this is the first part of the star and sky series (i was losing my mind to find which one was first)
if you're looking for a light-hearted show, with a hs-uni theme, hard pining, light angst, and happy ending, this is perfect :)

sweet & charming innocence
the story feels like a prequel to a love story but it does so in a cute and charming way. went into this not sure what to expect due to such a wildly mixed bag of opinions, but I found myself laughing a lot throughout the episodes. loved seeing winny and satang in this too, they both added so much to the already great story. in fact, the supporting cast were all amazing, this felt really well in terms of their performance together.this is lighthearted, with a great representation of fearful, timid, yet entirely sweet dancing around with the idea of confessing. thoroughly enjoyed all of this.
my only subtraction to my score is having to see joong be so serious for most of this. would’ve loved to see him act cutely more lol

Un po’ un tuffo nel passato
Il titolo è un po’ particolare, ma serve a cogliere ciò che ho provato guardando questi 8 episodi: un po’ un ritorno al passato, ai BL universitari, dove c’era lui, c’era “l’altro lui”, c’era una tipa e degli amici invadenti (va beh, quelli ci sono anche nei BL attuali), insomma nulla di troppo complicato. E forse è per questo che la gente è rimasta delusa (e invoca alla “chimica sprecata”) perché in un mondo di Not Me, The Eclipse, KinnPorshe e tutti i drama intensi e ricchi di suspance ti ritrovi in una cosa easy e carina senza troppe pretese. Ripeto, non stiamo parlando dei picchi del BL moderno, ma sicuramente merita la nostra visione. Mi sono piaciuti molto i personaggi, sempre molto “semplici”, però alla fine la storia non richiedeva il complesso passato di Ayan o Sean, ne l’integrità morale di White quindi anche i personaggi semplici andavano bene, perché la storia è una storia semplice: sua ragazzi che per varie ragioni vengono separato e si ritrovano, con tutte le difficoltà del ritrovarsi, del ri-capirsi e tutto… mi sento di consigliarla soprattutto se si vuole un modo leggero per essere introdotti ai nuovi BL (quelli dove alcuni problemi di quelli vecchi passano in secondo piano, per esempio, ho notato che ora come ora molte meno storie hanno varie storyline sul coming out, mentre se si guardano serie di quattro/cinque anni fa era una parte molto importante della trama) mantenedo uno sguardo verso i vecchi BL.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

I really liked this series, it wasn't until the last two eps that I kinda got bored a little. Turns out that I need some... drama... in my drama, not just pure fluff. I prefer it when my dramas end with a bang and not a soft plop.I mean, there was a bang, literally, just not for the main couple, it was a set-up for Sky in Your Heart. Definitely an interesting set-up, that's for sure, the main couple just sort of fluffily fizzled out into cuteness, though. And I'm more of a give me angst or give me death kinda gal.
But regarding the drama itself and its characters, I ended up loving Kluen which I didn't expect at first because I thought he was leading Nuea on out of pure... whatever. But when I got to know him, how hard it was for Kluen to express himself, he become my favorite!
What I adored were the relationships the main characters had with others, mainly Nuea's relationship with his older brother Fah, it was so touching, and Kluen's friendship with Noel who truly understood Kluen and his issues and tried to help him in any way he could.
Overall, a very sweet story and I will definitely watch the follow-up!

average school series
i almost dropped this one but since this only have 8 episodes, i tried to finish it. high school love and then they meet again in college, i think teenagers love this kind of story (sorry to generalize)this was still fun to watch, i mean, this is not boring though the story is cliché. i do enjoying every episodes, watching it till the end, finish it, and that’s it, move to another series. despite the actors good at acting, also it directed well enough, i’m not sure if i will back to watch it again. the chemistry is not bad even though (as i look up on it) Dunk is a new actor, and he just met Joong around last year or 2? in GMMTV. and joong, i saw him in 2moons2 and his acting become much better now, he can lead the chemistry with his acting skill here, but for this time i will just appreciate their chemistry up until there. for everyone who wants to watch it, i can’t guarantee you will like it, but you can have a try because it’s not bad.

An introvert's love story.
For those who are wondering, this series has a *happy ending*Plot/Storyline/Pacing:
I like the plot of this series. It is simple but quite overused. Sometimes cliche is good to watch as pastime and that is what I would describe this series. The storyline kept reminding me of 2moons2. Add to that that Joong is the main character. So, if you are planning on watching, think of 2moons2 but rushed. Also, for me, the pacing is a bit messy. The first few episodes (episodes where they are still not together) paced quite well, and then 3/4 of the episode later, they are resolved! I feel like the angst I felt in the last few episodes are waived away by an IG post and it made the story rushed and incomplete. I did not like that quick transition.
Chemistry:
Unpopular opinion: Joongdunk did quite well in their acting.... when they were not together. I do not know what went wrong, but when the characters finally resolved the issue and got together, the chemistry vanished. I did not felt longing and love with Dunk's acting especially when his character finally got together with Kluen. And for someone who has an unrequited love I did not feel 'love' for most of his scenes. He is cute though. When Kluen and Daonuea got together, for me they act more like friends than when they weren't together. That is just what I felt in the last episodes (ep7-8).
What I like in this series:
The friends in this series is *chef's kiss*. Shout out to Sean and Noel ❤️ the best friends in the series. They are all supportive, helpful, and funny, active listeners. A lot of comments mentioned that if they were not there, KluenDao will not be together and I agree with that. Fah is also a great older brother. Handsome too. I also love the little details in the series to show who loves who and how they show how they love each other in their own way. Another thing I liked is the improvement in Joong's acting. His eyes are very expressive that he can have a scene with no script and still deliver it well.
What I didn't like:
The miscommunication and misunderstandings that are stretched too much and formed the 'plot.' I admit the plot is simple, and this is a series with little to no drama so the conflict should be simple as well. But! It is very frustrating how Kluen doesn't straighten the story or correct misunderstandings. This then stretches the angst unnecessarily in the series which I did not like. I also didn't like how shallow the misunderstandings are resolved. Freaking IG post? I would have liked the parking scene to be longer and have that reconciliation scene there, or maybe something more dramatic to equal the scene in episode 6.
Overall, this series is simple, short, and a bit bittersweet. I quite like it but it is not something I would rewatch once again. Though it is something I recommend you to watch atleast once!

It's nice watch
This is a short and easy watch. There is only one couple and basically no side character development, so if your wanting something chill and easy to watch in a day this is it. The story is not that deep but the cast is able to make up for it. There is a sexual assault storyline that goes nowhere and feels very out of place. It's dropped in the same episode it's introduced in.The couple is really cute and the acting is good most of the time. At some point, it can feel annoying but I was able to overlook it for how cute the couple is. The couple makes you feel for them when there know their love is theirs but doesn't want to act on it. Can't wait to watch Our Sky 2 with them in it.

Joong is the best
I watched this series to see the evolution in the acting of Joong … and again I wasn’t disappointed.All of the actors were very good and there acting very natural, the story was interesting and not too long … but every scene with Joong made the screen “explose”.
This young actor is among the best artist we can currently see in Thai drama. I would love to see him in other BL drama but he has soo much more potential … he should go to Hollywood and find a good agent over there to launch his career there as the next Hollywood heartbreaker ( like Tom Cruise or Leonardo di Caprio or …)
If he could reed this I would say : Joong ??
