i don’t even know where to start with this series.before i’ve watched this, my all time favorite korean bl was to my star 1&2. but once the trailer dropped for this series, something clicked in my brain. i knew this series was going to be the best kbl i’ve ever seen. and i was right.
theres many good things i can say about this show. for one, the directing was amazing. and the cinematography was amazing as well. just based on the teaser, the eighth sense was giving me some sort of “indie-college-film-project” vibe, and i was 100% there for it.
i absolutely loved the plot. it was executed perfectly too. nothing was going too fast or two slow— the pacing was perfect. to me, this series had more of a slowburn feel, which i loved. it was filled with much angst, and i love angsty shows, so that’s another reason why i loved this so much.
the acting was incredible. jisub and juntaek had immaculate chemistry.
i really really loved jaewon. i tend to drift more towards characters that have a troubling past/present. mental health being portrayed in media, especially korean, is really important to many people who struggle as well. and i think this show executed it very well. it didn’t villanize him, but it also didn’t make it to be jaewon’s entire personality. it was vague, but enough to understand what he was going through. plus, on the extra scenes on youtube, you can see his mental illness more in depth.
this was such a beautiful series. with the pining, the angst, the cinematography, the music, everything was perfect. but to me, this series was painful to watch. but i love painful and angsty series.
i rated the rewatch value lower than 10, just because i know it would kill me if i did. rewatch it. i totally would though, if i wanted to be in pain again.
there’s so many more things i could say about this series, but my mind is drawing blank and it’s been a while since i’ve watched it, since i was watching it while it was airing.
i have no complaints at all. so amazing and beautiful.

wild plot, great kdrama
A very kdramaey BL college story. Much much better than Semantic Error. 10 episodes at 40 mins ea, so not a weekday drama, Wild plot, good drinking scenes. Secondary characters have some dramatic weight. Skorean scriptwriters always entertain, such is the trust they engender. The main characters here have real family backgrounds and discussions are had of a possible future for our pair in the real world beyond uni. My only caveat is a protest at yet another timid paler blonder small guy falling for an outgoing taller darker guy. Hate the predictable height and/or coloring tropes.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Acompanho BL a muitos anos, ja consegui ver um pouco de tudo. Mas esse, há esse é fantástico.Cada parte da história de prende e te toca de um jeito maravilhoso, aqui no Brasil nós temos um ditado "Eu estou namorando o namoro deles" que significa que um casal é tão fofo, doce e admirável que ficamos tocado com seu amor mútuo, e eu senti isso enquanto assistia.
A parte da luta contra a depressão foi fantástica, as pessoas precisamos saber sobre isso. Bom, por fim todos estão de parabéns.
Por favor, tragam uma segunda temporada 😭

It literally gave me butterflies.
Only the music could be better, but it's still 10 stars for me.

Heartfelt, Authentic, and Beautiful
This was a story told with heart, realism, and care. From the music to the writing to the acting to the setting, it was damn near perfect. I would recommend this to anyone who is bored by cookie-cutter stories and wants something that will continue to inspire and inform you long after you leave these characters (who, frankly, are now part of me).Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Uma obra de arte do início ao fim!!
Sem dúvidas é meu bl favorito e sempre terá um lugar guardadinho no meu peito. A obra usa muito da teoria das cores, o que deixa tudo mais emocionante. No início vemos cores mais neutras e acinzentadas, mas com o desenvolvimento da história e dos personagens tudo vai tomando cor e se tornando mais belo. A trilha sonora também é maravilhosa, contendo artistas como Wetter e Conan Gray. Já assisti The eighth sense 5 vezes e nunca me canso hihi. Literally heartbreaking. I loved every second of this series. Everything about this bl is good to me. I loved the music, the story, the acting and the music.The way that this was filmed is something you don't see a lot in Korean bl's. You can really see that this was made to bring out a good story and not just for fan service.

Rewatch worthy!
If you haven't seen this yet, watch it now! Im obsessed! It is so incredibly well done. Every single episode ends beautifully and the actual ending is perfect. I wouldnt change a thing. Its romantic, heart-warming, emotional, and has some of my favorite intimate scenes out of any BL. It also has really great conflict and even better resolve. It definitely gives off a more indie vibe which I love. Its a BL you will keep coming back to for sure.To get more in depth, here are some spoilers......
One of the main reasons im obsesssd with this series is due to the Actors ability to create such chemistry and emotion while doing seemigly mundane things. For example : Kim Ji Hyun bringing Seo Jae Won two cigerettes instead of just one or him handing him a ligther as he starts to walk away. Something so simple held so much emotion that it pulls you in. This happens many times throughout the series and you just can't stop watching it.
My obsession may also be due to the characters and the way the writers help you get to know them. There are no unnecessary fillers or introductions that take up whole episodes.They dive right into the story and you learn exactly what you need to in the perfect way. It's hard to explain but you'll see what I mean when you watch it.
Both the main characters have their own charms that will make you fall in love with them. Their Chemistry is also so pure that you can't help but root for them.
Their is multiple points of conflict but the resolve is sooooo worth it. The scene where they come back together after being apart is seriously my favorite.

The best K-BL I've seen!
Ugh! I loved this so freaking much!!!!This show had so much depth, I was hooked from start to finish. The Eighth Sense was just so beautiful and well done. I felt every emotion possible and melted into a puddle of feelings.
Normally I am petty until I die, but it was so sweet to see everyone make amends in the last episode. Truthfully some didn't deserve redemption, but our MCs have such kind souls.
I highly recommend this series. It takes you many places and explores so much more than I expected. The actors were amazing, their chemistry was palpable and they didn't give us dead fish kisses! They gave us heat! I do wish we got to see more healing, but I loved it so much as it is.

Menuda obra de arte. Preciosa fotografía, estéticamente una pasada.Una historia muy bien contada, real, bonita y a ratos dolorosa. Hace sentir en todo momento (cosa que valoro mucho).
Está historia está a otro nivel y la manera de contarla, el montaje, la dirección, la banda sonora, la actuación... todo, me encantó.

No tengo mucho más que decir, solo quería expresar la felicidad y la emoción que sentí.

Instant angsty classic for BL dramas
This story doesn't focus solely on the romance of two attractive men, which I have no problem eating up the kind of shows that do that, HOWEVER. When shows like The Eighth sense come into the genre, it easily places itself into A+ if not S tier for me. That's thanks to the story and character depth creating a sense of reality. The writing isn't the only thing this show offers however. The cinematography, soundtrack, and acting are all phenomenal here, which is also why I find myself rating this show so highly. Falling in love is a hard thing to capture in a drama but throw in some angst and or trauma and it's like tasting food with seasoning after not experiencing that much flavor in a while...
