A little scary at first but it was lovely
Ok, this could have been a lot worse. First of all, I'm glad to be able to say that there is no crime of any kind in the series, but still, it's very uncomfortable to see the normalization of young people dating much older people, let alone teachers.
In general, I liked it. I thought it was cool that Akira didn't try to take advantage of Katsuki and that he waited for Shin to finish high school. I thought it was cool that Shuu-Kun was a good example (quite in the restricted area) of someone aro.
I found the development of the facts well done, the evolution of the relationship between Shin and Akira was gradual and satisfactory.
The ending was cute and convincing.
Shin is definitely cute, I think the representation of a teenager full of dreams and desires was impeccable. Even in those moments when I wanted to get on the screen and scream "stop, please, he's going to have a heart attack!!!".
Hanabusa was my favorite character just because he's such an adorable, tiny dumpling.
I loved Shin's sister a lot too.
I even liked Akira's past dramas.
Well, to conclude, I liked it, but I hope I don't go through that again. I really don't like the "age gap" when some part is under twenty. That's it, I don't think I would be happy without being able to evaluate it, bye :)

Frustrating as fuck but it was worth it, i guess.
This series started off to a great start. Minato is a very low self esteem person when he comes to love and his age, due to his past and Shin is headstrong, persistent and shameless person. So by that dynamic only you can tell it would be a fun watch. But the problem with this series is that it has way too many episodes. It should honestly have only 8 episode. And because of this, the series dragged the problem with Minato and his past way too much. It become way too annoying to see Minato say the exact same thing every episode just to not do it in the next episode. If only they didn't dragged it out so much maybe this series would have a higher rating. But never the less, it was cute. Now the second couple on the other hand, barely bring anything to show and sometimes wonder why they exist in the first place. Both of the actors did a tremendous job, Akira and Shin's actor delivered their roles pretty well. Especially Shin's actor. He basically carried the show along side maybe with Akira's actor. The music is good. The ending song was very exceptional. The ending ost of the last episode especially, made me scream like a little girl. This series is nice to watch if you watch it in one go. I watch it while it was airing so I found it rather frustrating. But if you like slow burn series with a cute moments here and there and a shameless protag then this is must for you. Watch it, I say its worth it.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

a interesting story…
I watched this while it was airing but just now getting around to reviewing it lol…I like the plot of the story and how connected the characters were even when they didn’t know it (had history prior to getting to actually know each other). A lot of people didn’t like this BL because of its age gap which is understandable. It was a very cute and funny story with some heartfelt moments (at times). I did think at some times Shin was pushing for more knowing that Minato was unsure or wasn’t ready. This did get annoying or repetitive at times. I feel like it was a lot of back and forth between the feelings and there was a lack of communication between the two of them. Other than that, the plot was good and the acting was great. I would like to see this ship in another series together since I think they work well together. The side couple was also cute but I can once again see why people wouldn’t like it (another age gap). Same as the main couple, there was a lack of communication from the older dude. A lot of back and forth which can get annoying or too much at times. But I enjoyed the series and hopefully I can finish the second season soon (been watching it since it was airing). Second season is definitely not to my liking compare to the first season.

Are we there yet?
So this was not bad but not good either. Based on a manga I have not read, after a promising start it became boring very quickly as the plot started to go round and round in circles!I wouldn't have minded the repetitive plot of there was a semblance of character development!
And that is what I did not like at all, not one little bit!
Minato is supposed to be an adult who falls for Shin at first glance and that scares him since he is underage! Thereafter his behaviour is erratic: he either tries to be a responsible adult but fails miserably or is like a 18th century virgin who faints at the very thought of touching hands not to mention kiss or, god forbid!, more. At first it is funny and endearing but is becomes annoying as it is repeated many times!
Shin on the other hand is a high school senior who fell for Minato ten years previously. He behaves like a predator which in other worlds would be considered as harassment! But since Minato gives mixed signals, that behaviour is acceptable especially since he is a minor and therefore his stubbornness and adult attitude is considered cute and sweet?!? Actually i found him scary, hiding an iron, uncompromising will behind a cute smile and those dimples that are to die for!
They do not change from the first to the last episode: Shin forcing his way in and Minato blowing hot and cold!
The final problem, and the most important one in my book, was a total lack of chemistry between them!
There were some nice side characters; Shin's friend and sister were very supportive of him and quite a fun double act! Then there were two teachers: one seemed to be suffering from an early stages of alzheimer's while the other seemed like an alien from another planet, judging by their reactions. But they were more fun to watch than the two main leads!
Cinematography was ok. The production was of quality and there were some nice beach and night shots and the intro credits were good, cheerful though seen before (filmed with phone camera!).
Music was there, unremarkable!
I am sort of half sorry to have wasted my time on this but since the episodes are thankfully short(20min) it went by quickly!
This is one of those super hyped dramas that took nosedive after a few episodes and never recovered.

Fluffy, fun, deep, but a little slow
I enjoyed this drama for a lot of reasons. The cinematography is beautiful, capturing scenes from a variety of angles and in nice lighting. The acting is really good and enjoyable, everyone was pretty formidable. Every episode was fun to watch and the story is an enjoyable length. The main issue I have with this drama is that nothing really happens until the very end. The two do flirt and touch each other in the first few episodes but it takes a really long time for the two to do more together. It is a little more fluffy than I expected. That being said, this drama is fun to watch and has a variety of themes and characters. The kiss at the end wasnt the most passionate and sexy, but it was full of love and built up feelings. I recommend everyone to watch this BL.

Stop I’m so obsessed with this show
I’m so obsessed with this series and them because they’re actually so cute and they’re one of the reasons why I’m so obsessed with JBLs. I love Shintaro so much he’s so cute and adorable and the way he simps for Minato is so adorable it’s insane. AlsoAsuka is so adorable and funny also and him and Shin are like an iconic duo. Also that intro is one of the best intros I’ve seen because the song is a bop first of all and second of all each intro has a special part which showcases a character and their always so cute in it. I will warn you there may be spoilers ahead so be aware.
I am obsessed with this plot and it’s so good. Shintaro is a high school boy who goes to a laundromat one day and the owner is named Minato and Shin ends up falling in love with Minato and says that he’s gonna peruse him until he accepts his love. Which was him going to the shop everyday to bother Minato. In the meantime while Shin is at school he keeps on getting bothered by his classmates Asuka and Shin can’t make him stop bothering him until he realizes that Shins in love and asks who it is and when he found out it was Minato he decided to help him get Minato. Since Asuka knows Minato since he was a child because Asuka grandpa owns a fish shop which is near Minato’s laundromat he always sees his grandpa and that’s how he knew him since he was younger. When Minato sees Asuka he’s comfortable with him and goes for hugs and all that stuff, but when Shin wants one it’s not acceptable. Overtime Shin visits Minato constantly and always hits on him until Minato tells him he’s not interested in dating him because he’s a high schooler and Minato’s 30 and it wouldn’t look good to the public and since Minato was in that position when he was younger because he fell in love with his high school teacher. In the end Shin gets a substitute teacher and his name is Sakuma and it’s later revealed that he was Minato’s old crush and Shin starts to hate him so much that he would ignore and treat him badly, but would want all the details about Minato in high school. Overtime Sakuma suddenly wants to be in Minato’s life again and while Minato was starting to get comfortable with Shin, Sakuma had to come and muck it all up by making Minato hang out with him all the time and when Minato promised to take shin to get watermelon shakes he takes Sakuma instead like erggg, I don’t like him he made me so mad for no reason. Once Sakuma backed off Minato was fine with Shin and I’m so happy they started dating because I was getting tired of Sakuma’s screen time. Also Asuka also has a crush on a guy and guess what he’s Sakuma’s younger brother named Shuu and he’s absolutely way better than Sakuma and is actually cute in my opinion he seems like a sleepy dog, but always rants about the world and history. Even though Asuka knew him for a while, Shins sister Sakurako also had feelings for Shuu so it was a battle between them until she got rejected cause Shuu said he has someone already and it was Asuka and good for him he made his man know that he’s taken and stuff also the fact that they already went on vacations already shows that they are together, but don’t actually think they are. Anyways I won’t spoil too much, but it shows how much I love this show and how much I dislike Sakuma. I really recommend this drama and I suggest you skip any scene that Sakuma is in!

Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
wanted to give it a 0 but thats not possible, so i gave it a 1
im at the end of the 4th episode and im struggling SO hard to push through. Couldnt they have made shin at least an university student? It still wouldnt be normal but itd be less weird. A 29 year old crushing on a 17 year old is borderline pdophilia. He knew it was wrong yet he kept talking to the boy and leading him on. By other reviews i thought he would make it clear he never wanted anything but no, instead he tried to kiss him. I was very hesitant to watch it because of the age gap but finally tried after a few months because i just wanted to repost edits on tiktok. I am deeply disappointed and even 2x speed cant save me. Ill try to push through but i doubt ill ever come to like it because i do NOT fw pdophilia at all.EDIT:
ummm im on episode 7 and got even more creeped out.... when minato saw the message shins sister sent her that its shins 18th birthday, he whispered to himself "hes still a kid" and had an annoyed face... is it just me who thinks this is weird as hell

fluffy but taboo romance
Sep 18, 2022Minato Coin Laundry is one of those controversial dramas I have finished. I think the age gap between the leads can be concerning. Like I understand what the writers have done by providing past contexts between the leads but it just won't do it for me.
I guess if you can turn a blind eye into this then you should be fine with watching this show. The drama itself is fluffy but we do have a very persistent lead, Shin, and another lead who can be going around in circles, Minato. During the whole time I felt some frustration towards the progress of the story due to some dragging of the plot. However, I guess the casts' acting really made everything bearable to the point where the plot holes became unnoticeable.
So this drama is for those who just want a quick fluff with a persuasive male lead and I guess a contrasting flustered-always-yet-clumsy male lead
