Korean Drama " The Interest of Love " is an office melodrama.The drama is heavy when it came to the melodrama of the romance, with messy relationships and complicated heroes that didn't express their feelings to each other, often leading to frustrating situations. Hence, the story was boring and tiring to watch. The characters were annoying too, especially the main female lead who was all over the place.
The performances were, on the other hand, good enough, with the actors and actresses handling their characters nicely.
The pace was okay as well.
So, overall, three out of ten.

Lot of ups and downs - No clear ending
The Interest of Love was translated as "Investimento de Risco" (Risk investiment) in Brazil by Netflix. I don´t know why. It tried to show a deep and complex relationship between two main central couples, but it failed as there as many ups (good moments) and downs. Last episode is the worst showing lots of past moments. It looks like that directors didn´t know what to do or finish the story. Unfortunately, actor Yoo Yeon-seok starts playing his role very well in the initial episodes but he loses his "bright" as good actos he used to be.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Missed opportunity of a nice KDrama
Till chapter 12 all was interesting, then I feel the story is nice explained and have 2 scenes, later on we can believe that not "real" ones, but can be real.The ending is a shame, last 4 chapters turn in the idea that lovers only think in be platonic.
The story , for me, must end using the 2 initial scenes in chapter 9 and 12. I want this scenes to be real!
And the scenes can be part of the story, we only need to think in a arranged wedding and the, known by all sides, but secret for the public 2413 room love scene between the main actors!
And, because of this she pretend the infidelity...
I want to believe that this ending is really what happened but the director didn't have the courage to film it...

Waste of time if you like romance
The netflix clip gave the impression that this was a wholesome, boy meets girl drama which is what i signed up for and by episode 8 i realised i made a huge mustake. And after 11 i couldnt take it anymore. When does the person being broken up with ever gets a say!!? In this drama it wasnt done until she said so. It's a slow drag to depression and im not here for it. It was a lame open ending which i hate, after making us wait for so long, make up your mind to make it good or bad, not subpar!Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

I didn't like it even though the story was different but it wasn't good for me I was able to finish the drama because of the actors' intelligence or because of their love for the work but I was forced to play In my opinion, it should not have been much better if love didn't hurt to raise the name of the drama, understanding love I mean....and what was interesting was the end of the drama But you could have gone forward in the drama . I thought it was very simple In my opinion, the totality of the drama changed my opinion at the beginning of the best but my opinion is that it was an unexpected drama and that made it more excellentVond je deze recentie nuttig?

One line of story been dragged so much with unnecessary twists and turns. I only watched 4 episodes completely and now only the last few seconds of preview with a little hope of the drama being interesting. But unfortunately no. STRONG start, BORING ass middle and LAME ending
I loved the first episodes; they provided a great set up for a very promising ride. The office setting, the jerks, the gossipy tellers, the asshole boss with a double life, the intricate main characters, and above all the social class and status being a very important aspect, it almost felt like another character in itself. In short, this series had everything going for it, especially the angst.So what happend? Shallow writing that's my guess.
Midway I realized that the writer decided not to dig deep into the characters’ lives and just stay on the surface. What was interesting about the main characters at first became irritating.
If you want the viewers to do the work please give us a bigger taste of the meat, just like in LOST, it challenged the viewer in a very powerful way, by not shying away from very profound emotions, difficult situation and ultimate despair. That series was slow and silence was a big part of the whole, but it never felt like the characters stared at each other endlessly or spoke in an unnatural slow speed just because.
In TIOL silence was just empty, we as viewers weren´t challenged instead we were asked to be patient and imagine a whole world just by looking at the main characters face, especially the FL´s wide eyed face. In the early episodes her face was intriguing, but at some point I didn´t know what to do with it. Was she being surprised, annoyed, embarrassed, worried, grateful, flirtatious, sad, happy…? I asked myself what does it mean, what is she thinking... Soon after a few episodes I gave up… when i realized that perhaps there was nothing there. I felt tricked into believing that there was more than meets the eye.
So, what am i left with? The one-sided love story of our ML which was done masterfully by the actor? If so, is not enough for a 16 episode series, if that´s all there is. This series in my opinion lacks content, lots of it to put it blunty. I haven´t seen the final episode, but I doubt that I´ll get all what it is missing in that one last episode. I hope I´m wrong and if I am, I´ll come back and update my review.
I still recommend this series, the production value is high, the acting is excellent, the directing choices not so much, the writing is lacking especially midway onwards.

Pior série que já assisti - Horrível
Essa foi a PIOR série que já assisti. Gosto muito de assistir séries asiáticas, principalmente as coreanas pelo desenvolvimentos das personagens e pelo aprofundamento das relações entres os protagonistas principais.Contudo, nesta série o que se vê é uma protagonista feminina (Moon Ga Young) extremamente irritante e cheia de traumas pessoais infundados que atrapalham a vida dos outros personagem a ponto de serem irracionais suas atitudes, totalmente anacrônicas.
No início eu até me interessei pelo drama, mas já no 2 episódio eu notei que não seria uma boa série, mas continuei pelo meu senso de completar e concluir o que eu começo a assisti, mas foi uma PERDA DE TEMPO.
Foi o primeiro drama que assisti com a Moon Ga Young, mas confesso que agora estou com medo de assistir outro drama com ela, para não cai na mesma cilada e ter que assistir uma série ruim novamente.

Late Stage Capitalism Love
It's really hard to trust a Netflix series with inexperienced writers, in this case, it seems this drama is still the writers' only project. The combination usually results in producing flops and slops, and the pattern seems to be consistent with this one as well. It goes without saying, this explains why the dialogue was unbelievably atrocious and mind numbing. The story itself remained in a nonfunctional state throughout its run and mixing it with a half-assed social commentary piece resulted in a certified stinker. Even its creator know that it was a failed attempt so they abandoned the idea after a few episodes. Amidst all of that, somehow, they managed to create 16 episodes. I guess having the characters talking in slow-mo helped, which made it more painful in combination for how the dialogue was.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Only memorable things: good looking leads and disappointing story
I was looking for a wholesome, chill workplace romance but only got a pea sized portion of it. This happened in the first episode and things just went constantly downhill after it. The writing was less than average, and I just couldn't connect to the story. The characters were a lot of times one dimensional and their decisions didn't make sense. This drama is just another example of when writers decide that the plot should move the story instead of the characters. I think particularly, the female lead Sooyoung bothered me. She just felt like a caricature and all over the place, due to the bad writing. It felt like a waste of Moon Gayoungs talent. On the other hand, Yoo Yeonseok characters felt more dimentional and his acting was good. Watch how a cold hearted woman hurts everyone around her
I guess the script writer had an unfinished business, avoid this drama if you can, it disguises as a romance, but really is a series of unexplained actions of a cold hearted woman that destroys everyone around her, do yourself a favor and avoid.The songs are nice. There is one song in the end which sounds like Ahn JiYoung, but it might not be her.
The only character that saves that show is the warm hearted rich girl, but she is destroyed too in this drama as well.
The rich mother and her friendship with the hero's mom is also nice, but this is just moot and does not contribute to the story really as much as it could

It's a strangely compelling story about broken people failing MISERABLY at relationships
I think the dichotomy in the reviews say it all, people either hated it or loved it. It didn't really leave people indifferent.I imagine a lot of people were put off by the gap between what the series is and the expectations. It's not a rom com, it's not a comfort slice of life, it's not an ensemble series, it's not even a Makjang full of twists. It's not even really a love story, neither a realistic nor an idealized one, though maybe you could say it's a story about relationships, about how some people just can't make it work due to their shortcomings.
It relies a lot on execution: on the cast, on the direction, on the photography/cinematography, on the consistency... But here is the thing, it does work.
So you end up with a series about characters who self-sabotage, who lack the courage needed to make relationships work, who'll pick the easy path over the right one more often than not, who drown when life hits them without apparently even attempting to fight back, all in all quite gloomy and frustrating things, except you're inevitably pulled in as it's executed well enough to make you feel all the (often dark) emotions. It's easy to feel upset almost every time the characters make a decision because most of them will predictably give them pain, yet they still do it without breaking the willing suspension of disbelief. Characters are bad, but they can be strangely compelling and engaging; and ironically enough are consistent even in their inconsistency and lack of decisiveness.
I think if you can't handle it or really dislike the themes, then you're going to hate the series like crazy as a result. But if you're watching series for the emotions, good and bad, then I think it can be a pretty good watch.
It's kind of like watching the Titanic; yes it's pretty, but you're still watching a ship inexorably heading towards the iceberg, with very avoidable, very tragic results.
