Best acting of 2024 as of now with a "could be better " plot wise!
To be fair, for me the rating is actually something like 8.8/10.As i said earlier, the acting is really good on this one, the whole cast did a FANTASTIC JOB, but the LEAD COUPLE was really really well casted! a round of applause to them, i think they actually carried this drama, i hope they will win a lot of awards, they deserve it.
There were too many cliches, i hope this drama was more original, less predictable....
Some characters were unrealistic, like come on, in real life this would have never happened.
The villain could have been written better. I hope Park Sung Hoon will get the recognition he deserves and maybe play the good guy next time lol.
I actually recommend it, watch it and make your own opinion of it, don't be swayed by the bad reviews. It is not the perfect drama but it is enjoyable, and Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won are the lead! like come on, what else do you need to give it a try!?

Mediocre about marriage story, but the acting was fantastic, especially the main CP
Queen of Tears is a melodramatic K-drama about the love story of Baek Huyn Woo and his wife, Hong Hae In. A boy meets and falls in love with a girl from a well-to-do family, and the dysfunctional dynamic that their family embarks on ruins their relationship. My Reviews:
1. The main CP acted awesomely, especially the ML, Kim Soo Hyun.
2. The story is okay, nothing special. Typical Romantic Comedy with a melodramatic twist.
3. I didn't like many of the side characters in this drama, where I FF their scenes and only wanted to focus on the main CP.
4. The story started slow and draggy in the first 7-8 episodes. It gets more interesting when FL is diagnosed with a brain tumor; through the matter of life and death, she and her husband rediscover their love for each other.
5. It is a good drama, and the acting is exceptional, especially the main CP. I wish they had more screen time instead of too many supporting casts who steal their screen time.
I give it an 8.5 rating for exceptional acting from the cast.

Enjoyable Drama, Chemistry is peak, Acting is Baeksang, Story is average.
***IMPORTANT***: Watch this drama with reasonable expectations, if you have too high or unrealistic expectations, you will curse and hate the story/writing. I have experienced with this type of style of writing and story, so it doesn't bother me as much as the many other views expressed and thoroughly enjoyed it.The drama first set us up with a slow beginning about our leads and how they became the way they are. Throughout the episodes, it does pick up and pull you in pretty well with tear jerking performances and longing for the next episodes of our leads.
(+) Chemistry was phenomenal, the lead's eyes were just enough for you to know, "yeah, these mfs are in love, nothing can break their bonds"; as it is strong as a covalent/hydrogen bond.
(+) Cinematography was beautiful, camera shots, the visuals, the color gradients, the balance, etc. were all eye captivating that doesn't bore or hurt your eyes with excessive color contrast like most dramas. The leads acted VERY, VERY, well; I could see that they put their soul into this drama, when they cry, I CRY.
(- +) Now, the story/writing is nothing peak or new out of Kdramas, it is expected of a rom-com and is NOT thriller level competent. So do not expect logical or even thought-twisting writing. There is cliches thrown here and there, not a crazy amount but I'd say moderately cliche. One word I'd say about the writing and story is "Average", this doesn't mean it makes the whole drama dogshit and utterly garbage, it just means that it's there as a base to hold the lead's story or journey together afloat, nothing complex or gets you thinking in bed.
^^Overall, it is a nice watch, gets you in your emotions, heart, and rooting for the characters, and is also eye candy. Personally, was never too disappointed in any episodes. ^^

What was happening
Okay ngl I started the first episode and left it for like a month cause it started really slow and uninteresting. The first episode didn't really have me rooting for any of the characters so it was hard to get invested. Then after a solid 10 Hyunwoo tiktok edits, i decided to give it another go, and im so glad i did. dont get me wrong, the plot is crazy. Genuine hot mess. Like something new is happening each minute, i was seriously stressed out the whole time. But it ended up being super interesting, and i sobbed like a baby by the end of it. Its not the best ive watched, but give it a go if you have the time. u'll want to pull ur hair out but the cutesy family dynamics and batshit INSANE plotlines will keep u hooked. one of my 2024 favs!Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
If you’ve been there
I think one thing a lot of reviews are missing is life experiences. Does this title contain tropes? Yes, but not as many as most. Do those tropes overpower the story? Not at all; in fact, they usually feel like an afterthought.Either way, as an older person who has experienced some of these things (directly or indirectly, I don’t find the writing to be all that lacking. But an entire 16-episode series with just the mains rebuilding a relationship is a hard task. Might work for a movie, but it would get old quick if it were that times sixteen!
Also, I appreciate the ending— as much as it made me cry— because that’s how life feels. Ten, twenty, fifty years go by in a flash. The entire premise of this series is to emphasize that memories make us who we are, even the smallest ones. It also reminds us to cherish it, because we don’t know what’s coming next. We learn forgiveness for others, and for ourselves, when someone feels wronged. And we learn that love looks different for everyone, and none are your average Hollywood ending

I REALLY ENJOY THIS SERIES! THE BEST KDRAMA OF 2024!
"Queen of Tears" is undoubtedly the best K-drama of 2024. The storyline is nothing short of amazing, weaving intricate plot twists and emotional depth that keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The casting is spot-on, with each actor delivering superb performances that bring their characters to life in a deeply moving way. Kim Ji-won particularly slays as the queen, not only through her compelling acting but also with her stunning outfit choices that set new fashion trends throughout the series. The chemistry among the cast members is palpable, enhancing the overall impact of the drama. From the heart-wrenching moments to the joyous scenes, "Queen of Tears" excels in every aspect, making it a must-watch for any K-drama enthusiast.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
And the tears flowed.
Kim Soo Hyun, never disappoints me. He is an Adonis of K-Drama's. I think he is often underrated. Queen of Tears is IMO a mellow dramatic rom-com. It takes a dive into the rich and selfish world of the upper elite in marriage. The ML from an average rural family in the countryside is in a miserable marriage to a rich third-generation heiress. The FL rich and cold follows the footsteps of what is expected of the upper elite amidst some past trauma. The casting is done well with plenty of eye candy which I love. Kim Soo Hyun delivers a stellar performance. He was funny, adoring, sexy, and dramatic. Kim Ji Won, was a surprise for me in that she has really grown into a beautiful woman over the years. Her acting has improved. I could not get into her before "Arthdal Chronicles". Her part was captivating and believable. I liked this part for her. I felt there was chemistry but it was not developed as it should have been. Even though there were plenty of moments for the couple the director did not do enough with the romance, and it felt a little elementary at times. There should have been more adult romantic moments would have been better. There were plenty of side couples which did not hurt the film.
It is not a perfect film in that there are some filler scenes that only took up space and could have been edited better or deleted for more romance.
The acting overall was good. The soundtrack was good. The production was good with a great wardrobe.
If you like a good rom-com this is a good watch. Many parts will hold your interest.

Queen of Tears" is undoubtedly a K-drama that will leave an indelible mark on viewers' hearts. This exceptional series stands out for its compelling story and unforgettable scenes, with each character bringing their own unique flavor to the narrative. The performances are so remarkable that the cast truly deserves acting awards. The chemistry between Kim Ji-won and Kim Soo-hyun is nothing short of spectacular. Their portrayal of a married couple is so authentic and convincing that it feels like watching a real-life relationship unfold. Kim Ji-won's facial expressions are a masterclass in acting, capturing a wide range of emotions with impressive subtlety. She exudes charm and elegance in every outfit, adding to the depth of her character. Moreover, Kim Ji-won is very beautiful, her natural beauty enhancing her performance and making her character even more captivating. Kim Soo-hyun, on the other hand, delivers a performance that is both powerful and nuanced, demonstrating his superb acting skills in every scene.
What makes "Queen of Tears" even more special is its exploration of the essence of family and the complexities of spousal relationships. The story delves deep into the dynamics between spouses and the intricate web of family ties, resonating with viewers on a profound level. We love how the series captures the joys, struggles, and sacrifices that come with being part of a family, making it relatable and deeply moving.

In summary, "Queen of Tears" is the K-drama of the year. the queen of tragedies!
just finished! In general I liked it, I think what stood out the most for me was the acting of the protagonists and their chemistry, you could feel that it went beyond the screen 💖Now let's go with the script, it had good plot twists but it also had scenes that were left over... too much drama for my taste, especially in the last two episodes.
The ending... was more perfect than I had imagined... was it the ideal? I think so... what if I expected more? The truth is that yes but I was satisfied

Just another makjang out there
Amidst the buzz surrounding this show, touted as the highest-rated TvN series of all time, I couldn't help but wonder what all the fuss was about. Yet, as is often the case, the reality fell far short of the hype. It seems these days that any production flaunting an attractive cast and lavish production values is promptly lauded, regardless of its glaring flaws in storytelling and reliance on tired clichés.Initially, the premise held promise. Rarely do K-dramas dive into a story with the leads already married. However, the trope of the cold CEO female lead paired with the cheerful male lead has been beaten to death (cue memories of "My Demon"). The acclaim seems to stem largely from praise for the actors, cinematography, and OST, all crucial components of any successful show. But amidst all the glitz, does anyone even care about the story?
No one seemed to bat an eye when Haein miraculously emerged from brain surgery looking as glamorous as ever. Was I supposed to suspend disbelief entirely? And don't get me started on Park Sung Hoon's character, a disappointingly one-dimensional villain devoid of any real depth or nuance. The family dynamics, meanwhile, followed the tired chaebol archetype, culminating in a contrived unity against a common enemy. The lack of character progression and depth in Haein's reconciliation with her mother was glaring.
The writing, helmed by Park Ji-Eun, leaves much to be desired. The pacing is all over the place, with the initial episodes serving little purpose before a rush to shoehorn in crucial plot points towards the end. The shock tactics employed, notably the accident, felt contrived and did little to enhance the narrative. It's as if the showrunners were simply ticking boxes to fill the 16-episode quota.
Despite its shortcomings, I begrudgingly acknowledge the stellar performances of the cast and the visually stunning cinematography. However, these elements alone cannot salvage what is ultimately a hollow and superficial endeavor. If you value your time, steer clear of this overhyped disappointment.
Despite its flaws, QOT does manage to harken back to the standards of makjang dramas and those from 2016. In comparison to the K-dramas released in the past 4 or 5 years, it's passable. While it may not reach the heights of recent hits, it does provide a nostalgic nod to earlier drama conventions.
