The wait is all worth it
Just finished watching. I cannot believe it, from the day lusi & zheyuan was announced as the leads, when I was waiting for reuters previews of them filming and now the show is finished and I have watched the whole show. I am very happy, it is all worth it.I just wanna talk about how Lusi and Zheyuan portrayed their characters greatly. I've been saying & commenting on zheyuan dramas that why he's one of my top chn actor is because he is an 'Effective Actor', he makes sure to convey his character's feelings through the camera. If he's happy we feel it, if he's in love we see it on his face/his nuances, when he's sad we feel his pain. I really like how he cry, actually this might be weird, but I've said it before since Our Secrets, he cries so naturally you know that? Like he's not afraid to show the 'Real' crying face of a man, setting aside his manly features, he cries and we see the character's hurt in his face. He's also an eye candy (oh god), the camera love his face.
And my girl, Zhao Lusi. She did it again. She nailed another great character. I like how Zhi is a mix of timid-quirky girl. The show in the first half let us see the world through the lens of a girl who has enough love to give. She's kind and smart. I love how all through the episodes we get to see that she's a strong person, that she can also protect her loved ones. Lusi gives us the perfect portrayal of the transition that happened to Zhi from being a highschool kid to a lady.
I cannot praise this show enough, the other characters are also great esp Sangyan. The OST is top tier and the script is also good. I wish I could see Lusi & Zheyuan in another drama again because their chemistry is off the roof. They really made a fan's (me) heart really happy. I'm gonna miss them so muchđ„č But for now i hope Zhi & Jiaxu is happy in dramaland.

JUST WATCH
This dreams was prefect. Whenever they cried, I cried with them and would whisper âDonât cry, everything will be alright.I have seen a lot of Cdramas and frankly, only a few blew my mind. I donât know if itâs the norm in China, but I hated the fact that for most of the dramas itâs either the FL is extremely childish or the ML is super annoying. Remember, itâs a personal opinion. Like I said earlier, I donât mean to be rude or offensive, I just want to air my opinion with all due respect.
This drama is a masterpiece! I havenât seen a drama this flawless. Even the saddest person on earth would be happy after watching this. Honestly, itâs been long I typed this long epistle on any drama.
The actors were amazing! Every character were lovable, there was no single hate. And for the ML & FL? I felt deeply in love with those two. I have been a fan of the FL after watching âLove Like the Galaxyâ which is by the way, among the best Cdramas I have seen.
I wish Chinese script writers would learn from this drama. I wish they would start writing more realistic characters & stories and stop making most FLs too fake and childish. I mean most of these movies are for adults, it should portray that too. Iâm not a fan of skinships. However, those few kissing scenes should be as real as possible. Those romantic moments should be real and not some fake kissing scenes.
That being said, I want to applaud everyone that worked on this drama. I connected with this drama all the way, I had to rewind some of the scenes because I didnât want it to end. To everyone that worked on this, you guys are super talented, amazing and effortlessly great actors. I love every part of it. I wish I could hug everyone on set, but itâs not possible. And Iâm happy this was a huge success. You guys deserve the recognition. Thank you guys for making my day, I watched this in less than 24 hours.
For me, I would rate this an easy 10/10! I would really appreciate any recommendations to something similar; no hate, not evil parents, no evil EX, no breakups. Just two people who are deeply in love and are allowed to be and remain in love.

I watched it for my favorite actress Zhao Lusi, but I love all the actors and actresses their acting in here. They really show development in their emotions when the story also develops further. The storyline seems realistic and not exaggerated to me, so it felt durable to watch it. It was visually pleasing as well. Everyone looks handsome and beautiful to the eye. It is a very soft vanilla romance series. I'd definitely recommend this series!If you like soft romance stories, with development starting from young to old, wholesomeness, school involved, lead with sibling, some personal hardships, then this is certainly for you.

A truly amazing Cdrama the best so far this year and I dare say maybe the best Asian drama as well
If you're looking forward to re-experience the innocent crush and first love that ends up to a happy ending with two beautiful eye-candy amazing actors with super heart fluttering chemistry then this is the one you're looking for!! The transition from the young FL to the adult version was very smooth the crush on the older ML made sense the cute interactions between both and the supporting characters is amazing. The story in itself is veryyy beautiful the character were all well written, it is a very bright light drama however it has some sad parts that were quickly solved to keep things simple. The siblings relationship was also so cute and real. I couldn't find anything to nitpick on to be very honest. The casting was on point. Lusi is an amazing actress she was able to portray the innocence, rebellious phase of teens and shyness of having your first crush. Then the maturity, growing up and fighting for her independence and being a strong support to her ML. Chen zheyuan was also exceptional I didn't watch much of his works but he is very good he delivered the emotions on point his eyes were everything! The smiles, the eyes, the look. He did amazing. Both of them had an amazing chemistry on screen and off screen. There wasn't one moment that made you feel cringy or disturbed. It was a beautiful transition from a pure one sided love to a mature relationship between two adults. Everyone who watches the drama won't be able to forget it. This Drama just increased my standard Romcom. 3 days ago just finished this drama and now I don't know why i can't watch any romcom drama.The way this drama took me about 2 days to complete explains how much I loved it.
And trust me this drama had me laughing, smiling and blushing every minute.
They both were each other's first and last love and I loved the how sang zhi back then was not utterly obsessed (trust me I've read books and watched shows like these).
She just always admired him from afar and loved him regardless of his past + duan jiaxu being the greenest flag ever has raises my standards omg....
Not only Chemistry between Sang Zhi & Duan Jia Xu that i loved. I also love Chemistry between Sang Zhi and her family/friends.

Must watch due to Actors and director
This is a simple story of a girls crush on a boy. What makes it great is the actors and directors magic.ML- his acting was simply superb. He can portray every emotion on this face and communicate through eyes without saying a word. He made emotional scenes look real and surreal.
FL- sheâs well known for her acting skills in the roles sheâs done. Whether itâs long ballad or who rules world can display varied emotions on her face. Her high schools girl to college transformation was classy.
Director- has made story heart warming and the transitions are smooth during the times of their childhood to adulthood.
Only thing I missed is both FL and ML were good at showcasing the emotions when they looked at each other. The way itâs said a kiss can tell hundreds of things but theirs was lacklustre one. It lacked passion and was cold when it came in last three episodes. Their chemistry was cool but kisses showed lack of passion.
Itâs not the case for ZL if you watch who rules world or love like galaxy.

A real gem - watch it!
I find many Chinese dramas either too melodramatic with overcomplicated plots and very 2-dimensional characters or the acting just plain awful. I donât even bother to finish many of them - but this one (Hidden Love) is a real gem. Everything is just spot on - the casting, the acting, OST, the plot - it is faultless. An absolute pleasure to watch from start to finish!Characters have depth; the story flows naturally and itâs very well acted. Plus romance rush in practically every scene. It had me in fits of laughter (e.g. sibling rivalry), throes of despair (especially the first airport scene) and every feeling in between. So, so refreshing to find a C-drama that ticks all the boxes and left me feeling my time wasnât wasted (which is how I feel about majority of c-dramas). A beautiful love story with heartfluttering chemistry
I'm gonna say it, but this is the best cdrama I've watched, and I've seen a lot. They chose the best actors and actresses for this and not just the main leads. The chemistry is over the roof, it's sweet and realistic. Most girls have had a crush and this plays out those feeling step by step, making you immersed in their story as if it was your own. The OST also adds feelings of longing to their relationship alongside a smooth production. I really cant recommend this drama enough if you love a sweet, gentle romance.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Compilation of random thoughts I had while watching this drama:
1. Why don't I have an older brother with hot friends?2. Jiaxu is way too hot for his own good! Every time he appears on screen, my heart skips a beat; I forget to breathe; I go into a daze; and I keep smiling like a stupid fool who's too old for this shit!
3. Sang Zhi looked more mature when she was 14.
4. But Sang Zhi is still fine as 17 year old. Maybe a little too shy, or she could be like that because of her crush on Jiaxu, and I totally understand it.
5. I love Sang Zhi's petty fights with her brother. That's me and my brother and we still fight like that at the age of 26 (me) and 24 (my brother)...
6. For a moment I thought Sang Zhi at 17 is too much, but again I was kinda exactly like her except I never skipped cities just to see a guy I had a crush on (perhaps rich people privileges!)...
7. I love how considerate Sang Zhi's parents and brother are. If I would have even told my family about my first love and heartbreak in school, I would be dead.
8. Does the parents' generosity and good deeds get passed down to the kids? No! Then why should kids bear the burden of their parents' sins?
9. Again, I love the brother-sister dynamics. They are just too real!
10. Sang Zhi and Jiaxu's overthinking phase is very realistic. I am sure most people in their young age would have experienced it. Maybe that's why I am liking this drama so far, even though it's a fluffy romance (I am more into crime thrillers).
11. This is soooo cute..... I am constantly screaming and getting butterflies seeing Sang Zhi and Jiaxu interact with each other. This drama is like every girl's dream fairytale!!!
12. It should be a crime to make a guy look this adorable! How am I supposed to lower my expectations when someone could imagine such a person and put it down on paper? Where will I find someone like Jiaxu who can reach my sky-high expectation? Or does the writer wants me to be delulu forever until I die single?
13. I might die of diabetes before this drama ends!
14. I like how understanding Sang Zhi is. I would probably die of overthinking if I would have been at her place!!
15. I am going to cry myself to sleep after finishing this drama because it is making me feel single and lonely in 100 different languages.
16. Love that every action and reaction of people in the drama feels natural. Some people may not agree but when I imagine the type of situations portrayed here, I would expect people to react in the same manner, be it Sang Zhi, Jiaxu, Sang Yan, Sang Zhi's parents, or Jiang Ying. I was a little disappointed with Sang Zhi's boss coz I would expect a boss in the workplace to be more mature to keep personal and professional life separate.
17. I know I have said it before, but I truly adore the Sang siblings' relationship. Not everyone gets to experience it, but personally, I relate to it the most.
18. And slowly, I fell for Sang Zhi also!
19. I am so envious of Sang Zhi that she could ask someone to love her forever. A lot of us have lost hope in love so much that we don't expect it from anyone anymore. All we do is try to love ourselves to feel a little less lonely and somewhat content...
20. I think I can watch them for 1000 more episodes, growing old together, successfully overcoming all life problems, and living happily.
I ASAP need some advice on how to get over this series! Ahhh! It completely ruined me.
