YOU WILL NOT REGRET WATCHING THIS SHOW!!!
I cannot explain how much I love this show, it has seriously taken a big spot in my heart and I feel empty now that's its over.I'm not joking when I say that I was so desperate for more that when the ending credits on the last episode played, I saw the 00:59 at the bottom and thought that there was another 59 minutes left. I'm not sure what I was even hoping for, bloopers or maybe a second epilogue, but even though in back of my head I knew it was seconds not minutes, I still needed to double check in hopes that that voice was wrong and the editors were just pranking me.
as much as this show leaves me empty, it will always have a special space in my heart. the ending leaves me satisfied and as much as I want more, more might just ruin the perfection that this show is.
this show has helped deal the hole in my heart that was meant to be filled by my youth, I feel like I lived my teenage years through them. I love a good youth show, but this one takes the crown.
the first 2 episodes are more of a build up to the plot, but you'll be completely lost without them. they're incredibly interesting and were great to watch, but episode 3 was the one that's really captured me. I just needed to know what was next.
this show was truly an emotional roller coaster, the writers need to open classes on cliff hangers bc this show really just kept me hooked week after week. I bore very easily and often drop shows, but this one really drew me in.
I'm not someone who is great with emotion, I often can't understand emotional shows and drop them bc I'm unable to feel what I need to which just makes everything feel very isolating and confusing, but this show really hit me. maybe it was the acting, maybe it was the writing, but this show was absolutely amazing, it's a piece of art.I do wish we got to see eunho and chungha more, I adore them so so so much.
thank you to the random tiktoker who put a very curiosity stricking tiktok on my fyp, the second I saw that video I just knew I had to watch the show and that was one of the best choices I have ever made.
if you've read this far and are still wondering if you should watch it or not, watch it. just as the title if my post says, you won't regret it. this show is so deserving of its current 9.2 rating, so much so that it deserves more.
I've said so much, I'm not sure i why, I just can't stop.
I'm not sure if any show will be able to hold my heart the way this show does, but I don't think I want that anyways, this show is so special to me and I hope it continues being this way for a very long time, maybe even 28 years.
thanks you very much to everyone who worked on this show, even u you did a "minor" job, your hard work helped bring this masterpiece to life. thank you to the writers who wrote this beautiful piece of art and thank you to the actors who brought it to life. you did so well and I hope you are proud of yourselves. you've touched my life and my heart.
this is the end of my very very long review, I tried to keep it spoiler free!

Must Watch!!
"Twinkling Watermelon" is a delightful Korean drama that effortlessly blends romance, comedy, and a touch of nostalgia. The story revolves around the relationship between the 4 lead characters, played with undeniable chemistry by the talented cast. It's definitely a must watch k-drama. Hope they'll release the drama on big platforms such as Netflix, etc because it's so underrated and deserves more hype! A Youth Drama We Didn’t Know We Needed, But Deserved
A story about a boy who goes back in time to prevent a tragedy from occurring… that’s just the surface-level synopsis of his trip.Ha Eun Gyeol, our main character, embarks on a journey that revitalizes his youth, helps his dad shine in a way like never before, and opens a door of communication for his mother to the world— one sign at a time!
Twinkling Watermelon (반짝이는 워터멜론) is not just a comedic slice-of-life saturated with fluffy moments enough to make you pass out from sweetness at every corner. Rather, it’s a drama full of wounded interpersonal relationships, character development, healing, forgiveness, and acceptance admist the backdrop of '95’s Seoul. In fact, the setting is so well-crafted, coupled with the original premise— that it makes the audience feel like they’re embarking on the same journey as our main character.
One of the biggest aspects that I absolutely adore about this drama is the stellar cast. Whoever did the casting deserves some kind of award! Characterizations is so on-point that it leaves you in awe. CHW practically MOLDS into the role of Ha Yi Chan, and the same goes with the orher crew members. Line delivery was flawless, and the amount of times Ha Eun Gyeol (Ryeoun) made me cry is probably too much to count— I mean, mans is a whole tear-production plant!
Additionally, this drama teaches so many great values about family that will deeply resonate and tug at the heartstrings of many viewers. As someone with a close-knit relationship with their parents, and coming from a cultural background of collectivist beliefs, the interactions between HEC ans HEG made me deeply reflect on the relationship that I have with my loved ones.
For those who still have your parents, guardian, or a loved one in general, cherish the moments that you have with them. If theres anything that Twinkling Watermelon wants you to realize, it is as Mr. Viva said, “Major and minor chords must coexist harmoniously for a song to sound delightful and complete. The same goes for life. Experiencing hardships and joyful moments help you build your dazzling life.”

THE BEST!
Well this is my favorite kind of story; going back in time or going into the future! Love them! This series is probably my favorite I ever watched, or right in the top 5.
I liked all the actors, but Ryeoun was definitely my favorite, just something about him and how he played the part, he was fabulous I thought!
The only thing (which I agree with others) is the last 2 episodes were rushed, I would have loved more on what happened in the future, just wasn't enough of it. But still loved loved loved the series!
I thought it was very emotional at times and so so so darn sweet and touching. I simply loved it.
Also Ryeoun, I think I found a new favorite actor (or one of them).... :)
Worth the watch for sure!!!!

Warm and refreshing
Late to the party but this was so good to binge-watch!This is a story you never knew you needed to see. There's so many new perspectives I took away after the last credits roll. It's a new combination: deafness, a child of deaf parents without the disability and time travelling to the past. This unexpected mix is thoroughly refreshing and unexpected.
More than just the mystery behind who and why while fulfiling the true mission of travelling back in time, the heart of the story is actually family. Yi Chan and his grandma. Eun Gyeol and young Yi Chan. Eun Gyeol and his parents in the present. Cheong Ah and her dad (even though we didnt get as much of him as I would like).
Eun Gyeol's story was very heartwrenching and moving at the same time. Who would have thought that the one who hears and speaks in a family where everyone else is deaf, is lonely and felt left out? At the same time he puts a lot of pressure on himself, taking every burden himself and not really sharing his thoughts and feeling. His POV tugs at your heartstrings but its the opposite side of it thats really eyeopening. I wont divulge further to not spoil it.
Choi Hyun Wook's Yi Chan really stole the show. He has this vivacious charm and boundless energy. He draws you in to his character and makes you cheer for him, his dreams and his youth.
If you havnt watch it back while it was airing, like me, its not too late. Put aside 16h for a wonderful story.

SO GOOD would a 10000% reccomend. The series still isn't done airing yet, there's 12 episodes out now if I remember correctly and I'm on episode 4 right now, so far SO GOOD. It's 04:38 A.M. right now and I still haven't slept yet cause I really wanna watch more. I'm really loving it even though not a lot is happening yet. The acting is great as well, although not gonna lie **sometimes** Ryeoun's acting skills are a bit iffy, but it is quite alright it's not that noticeable if you're not analyzing too much, and as I said it happens only sometimes not often. His acting is still so good, I think it's just that he has some weak points that are hard to hide, and that's perfectly fine since they don't ruin the moment or anything. We barely got to see the young Cheongah but she's so lovable and so cute already ;___; . Can't wait to see more of her.
Please Eungyeol and Yichan's dynamic is killing me right now I'm always laughing. As for the OSTs I have no idea cause I never pay attention to them...lolss. I don't think I have anything else to say for now, I'll add on the more watch. But for now, it's looking really good, so my rating would be 9.5 or 10/10. FOR NOW ONLY. Who knows how this will develop?
Just finished episode 12 and I feel like I'm gonna explode, this is why I hate watching ongoing dramas cause waiting is pure torture. The next episode comes out in 3 days but it genuinely feels like 3000 years. My opinions on this still haven't changed, although I am getting frustrated, I a starting to grow grey hairs because I'm thinking too much about Yichan and Cheongha finding out Eungyeol is their son... And speaking of Cheongha, she's the most precious and adorable thing ever, she's my favorite character frfr. But nothing new to add, I'm just gonna wait for new episodes to drop.
Alright, the final episode was released earlier today so I finished it, and I still love it just as much, my rating is still the same as when I first started this review lols. Although ngl, I wish the ending was something else, it was still a good ending. I wish we had more insight into what happened during that time, especially with Segyeong and Eunyu. But I really loved it it feels so bittersweet tbh T-T
(I hate that we can't use emojis on this damn website bro I always have to improvise *crying emoji* )

The drama I would have waited for but got lucky because it was airing already!
To start off, I love the colourful bright poster. The drama was amazing. I can't really say that a lot about the dramas I've recently wat
ched (not just korean) because I don't have the motivation to finish them but for this I was waiting on edge for every episode to release until the last two because I didn't want it to finish bit I also wanted to know how it ended.
I'm not going to say oh wow it says a 10 star ending but it's a 9.5 stars for me because I feel like an extra 15 / 20 mins or a mini special episode would have allowed a proper good bye for every character for Ha Eun Gyeol to meet for the last time.
So this next tquesfion always comes up with time travel dramas/movies. What happened to the versions of the characters before the time travel took place? Is that simply another timeliness now or they simply don't exist? It can be argued either way. So many questions related to time travel but as a drama, this was fun to watch.
I would so recommend for you to watch this.
This is actually a 10 star watch overall for me but I'm rating it a 9.5 stars considering I feel like a little extension to the ending would have been a bit better but it wasn't bad either. It was a good ending.

This is the best drama of 2023.
I had a lot of expectations for this drama just because it was a Choi Hyun-wook drama. But I was still surprised.I left in love with a thousand and one more actors, I cried at the story and laughed like there was no tomorrow.
Normally I don't give 10 stars to anything I watch, but this drama deserves even more!
I also fell in love with music. This ost will definitely never leave my playlist and I pray I'm going to miss Yi-chan~ 🥺
The drama teaches an incredible life lesson that makes you emotional every moment
VIVA LA VIDA!~
WATERMELON! SUGAR!

MY favorite drama of the year.
Along with Moving, The Good Bad Mother and My Dearest, this drama is definitely on the top five of best dramas of 2023. Had zero expectations and started watching cause I was bored. Best choice EVER🍉The acting, the cast, the music. Despite being a "musical drama" I wasn't overwhelmed about the music content. Even though it is based on the 90's this drama felt so refreshing to my ears.
There is a lot of scenarios that makes yourself putting on their shoes. Yi Chan's relationship with his grandma was so heart warming, showing how the relationship of some of us who were raised by their grandma.
Sorry for the grammar errors, my native language is Spanish.

It's a rollercoaster of emotions that leaves you smiling and humming to the tunes.
"Twinkling Watermelon" is like a time-traveling fiesta that throws you into the '90s, and it's a blast! Imagine accidentally ending up in 1995 and trying to play matchmaker for your parents. That's the hilarious ride Ha Eun Gyeol takes us on.
The story isn't just your typical time-travel plot; it's a feels trip exploring family, love, and growing up. It's like a bag of emotions – you laugh, you cry, and you dance to the '90s tunes.
Now, let's talk about the rockstars of the show – Ryeoun and Choi Hyun Wook. Their bromance and father-son duo are so heartwarming; you wish you had a friend or a dad like that. And Seol In Ah? She's the queen of adding layers to her character, making Choi Se Kyeong unforgettable.
Oh, the music! It's not just a soundtrack; it's a time-traveling mixtape. The '90s hits and original songs are like a nostalgia bomb. You'll find yourself humming along and doing the Macarena.
But, of course, every party has a pooper, and here it's the classic Kdrama evil character, Lim Ji Mi. Not the most nuanced villain, but hey, we can overlook that in the grand scheme of things.
The title, "Twinkling Watermelon," may sound random, but trust me, it becomes a genius clue and metaphor as the story unfolds. It's like a secret code to the drama's awesomeness.
In a nutshell, "Twinkling Watermelon" is not just a drama; it's a time-traveling adventure, a laughter therapy, and a dance party rolled into one. It's the kind of show that leaves you with warm fuzzies and a craving for more watermelon. Don't miss the joyride – it's a watermelon-flavored treat for your soul! 🍉✨

Screaming, crying, throwing up
I’m not okay, I will not be okay for a long time. This was the most beautiful thing that I have ever watched and to be honest I don’t think I have enough of a way with words to describe just how amazing Twinkling Watermelon is. I was a long-time stan of Thirty but Seventeen and never thought I would find a Kdrama that could even hold a candle to my favorite drama of all time, but somehow Twinkling Watermelon completely dethroned Thirty but Seventeen in a short, short amount of time. In a way, I’m a little annoyed that my #1 Kdrama is, like, everyone and their mother’s favorite kdrama, since as I’m writing this review, it’s the top rated Kdrama on MDL with a whopping 9.2 rating (oh my god). Genuinely though, it’s 10000000% worth the hype and I honestly cannot even begin to explain how wonderfully entertaining, heartwarming, and marvelously written this drama is.For a drama with such a young cast, I was first and foremost completely taken aback by the quality of acting, since I don’t often see this type of skill in similar youth kdramas. Granted, there was a bit of overacting on the ML’s part but it’s very rare and honestly just adds to the comedy so I can let it slide. The storyline itself very much reminds me of that iceberg meme where what you see on the surface is quite simplified and shallow but as you continue watching, the storyline just unravels before you and you end up making connections you hadn’t even imagined you’d be making. This was genuinely such a fun ride and I will definitely be coming back to this one as soon as I can recover from the first watch ahaha.
I could honestly write paragraphs and paragraphs about this but I’m kind of put into this weird paralysis state where I have so many things to say that I just don’t know what to say at all, so I will just leave this here: Literally whatever you’re thinking this drama is going to be, or whatever expectations you have, leave them behind and just watch the drama for what it is, because while it will likely be so different from what you were expecting, it will probably be far better as well.
PS this is coming from someone who has watched her fair share of kdramas and has become immensely picky with what she watches and enjoys (sadly lol)
