Typical BL
**Brief Synopsis**B (Journalist): Onoe
T (Journalist): Kaburagi
Beginning: B and T are journalists in the same company. One day B is transfered to T's department and they are forced for to work together. T's job is to take pictures of celebrities and potential scandals. At first, T doesn't like B because he isn't used to this new position. B doesn't like T because he is player and thinks he's all that. But T starts proving himself to have a gentle and nice side.
Middle: They start getting more jobs together after the success of their first one. Soon they start developing feelings for each other but they show it in different ways. T kisses B and tells him it's because he wants to see how he would react. He confesses but B isn't sure what kind of like it was. They seem to ignore this confession and continue to work together.
End: The series ends with them finally addressing the confession after a while and sleep together.
**My Opinion**
THINGS I LIKED ABOUT IT
- The main couple look good together including the intimate scene, they look good together but this scene has no emotional impact on me because I wasn't invested in this couple.
- Relatively angst free viewing experience.
THINGS I DIDNT LIKE ABOUT IT
- Acting is bad when displaying complex emotions, making the scene feel unnatural.
- The lack of build up for the relationship. We have no idea how they fell for each other because there was no clue they even had feelings and the next episode B says he had fallen for T. T confesses as well but it just felt more like a joke because there was no buildup.
- The plot is predictable and cliche with no memorable moments.
- Lack of chemistry between the leads. They look really cute together but when they are together it's difficult to believe there was anything more then friendship.
- The development of the relationship confused me. The two MCs are emotionally stunted idiots who just won't talk to each other. The angst felt so forced it wasn't even funny. I felt absolutely nothing because this couple had no build up and given any reason why I should care. Their confession at the end mean nothing to me either. This whole love plot felt so forced and rushed it's not at all romantic.
**Conclusion**
Simple story with no memorable moments.

A light weight cute drama
This is a very quick, sweet and light drama to watch , if you have an evening and you want something to cheer up with.Nothing in the story is too deep or in need of explaining, it's pretty straighforward/simple, filled with cute moments and interesting topics.
The lead actors are very adorable and work very well together.
I got nothing bad to say about this, i thought it was sufficent with how the plot developped and ended, there was no unecessary drama or action.
The simplicity of it made it worth the watching

Sweet but a little too soft
aka: Candy Colour ParadoxSweet story and I liked the casting. I don't know the Manga, so can't say how it measures up.
I found the repetitive intro of each ML at the start of all episodes a bit redundant.
Their scoop projects were varied and pretty relevant, but with short and few eps, there could never be any depth to them. Also, considering the fact Yakuza and crime syndicates were mentioned more than once, it feels a little unreal that there were no thugs or threats of the consequences for their scoops.
The naive half of the duo, Onowe, might be just that, but he's far from stupid. I actually see it more as an innocence ~ he's well aware of the dark side of life, but chooses to believe in people until he's proven wrong, at which point he has no qualms about facing up to reality.
Our more jaded other half, Kaburagi, who must have had some really bad experiences of being let down to be so cynical at a relatively young age, appears to need Onowe... like a light in the dark.
They are both dreadful at communicating their feelings, so at times their interactions are frustrating, but they would be irl with 2 such emotionally introverted people getting together. They both start opening up in the latter part of the drama and we get an insight into Onoe. It is a real shame we didn't get to see more of that and background on Kaburagi.
However, if you are looking for a short, sweet romance with opposite characters that is all about the couple, which isn't deep or have a strong back-storyline , this is perfect.

Heavenly blend of cute and fluff
This series is so cute and FLUFFY, and the ship is absolutely adorable. The plot is very fun, and I loved each and every episode of it.The sex scene was very unexpected from a Japanese BL, and was executed exceptionally! The character dynamics and development is also very good (we love you Masayan <3).
There were many unnecessary lines, in the sense that they often pointed out things that were obvious, or had already been resolved in the previous lines. Many lines also ruined the mood of the scene, and could easily be solved with body language. There were also a tad too many flashbacks and repeated scenes. Some scenes were shown up to five times throughout the series, which is just unnecessary.

If you liked Tanaka and Amagi
This show is like a grownup version of Tanaka-san and Amagi-san right down to the advise giving best friend (who had the glowup he deserved. lol.) and the blonde haired stoic popular guy and his clumsy puppy love interest. One thing that kept taking me out of the scenes was the constant smoking. My mind kept intruding the thought that his kisses probably tastes like cigarette butt's and ashes. Alcohol is bad enough but the cigarettes was a no-go for me. Especially as one partner is never shown smoking.

Onoe: Uke, timido, correcto, profesional.

A feel-good BL
I had a fun time with this short yet loveable BL. Having their romance boost from their professional job as a print media reporter and having fieldwork alongside each other was great and enjoyable to see. The plot and tension were just light but still satisfying.Watching this after a year of release was a pity because I’m late yet still grateful for another quality BL produce from Japan. Jyutaro and Keito pairing sent out a good amount of serotonin. One is alluringly handsome and the other one is undoubtedly a cutesy. Sometimes, I feel that a few scenes needed huge acting performances that they both lacked at some point. Yet, the overall portrayal of their roles was enough for me to overcome with joy from their chemistry.
The supporting cast and guest roles also delivered a flavorful addition to spice up the story and connect the couple from getting to know each other. So this is mainly an office-based romance roaming between a simple yet smooth flow of love story. It was enough for me and I loved it!

Better for me
I read in a book once that Candy Colors stimulating the appetite and makes you want more. This series for sure WILL makes you want MORE. I think it is obvious that a lot of people are used to or they tasty are affected by the most Bls that start and end in 2022 and of course won't like this one. But I can guarantee that this Bl right here is for sure one of the best for 2022-2023. The story is simple but is catchy, the main point is of course the whole world behind the main line and still serve a lot. The actors are amazing, I mean, they make mistakes? I rewatch a lot times before writte this review so the rewatch value is totally 10. The soundtrack is P E R F E C T, man billy rock it. I understand for sure that we have to pass for a lot of bad bls, but Candy Color is better for me in every line. Like i say before I want them to make others Bls and a second season, I mean, if they have money from amazon, netflix or HBO they will make a AMAZING and more explored, I really really really hope they can make others storys together they have that chemistry that is rare to see.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Their own take of the manga
*happy ending*This manga is one of my most favorites to reread of all time, that is why it took me a long time to finish it. There were some points in the series that did not match the manga, so I suggest manga readers to not re-read or read the manga before watching this.
Differences:
- first of all, kaburagi here is a bit different from the manga. There, I saw kaburagi as a sleepy, perverted man who only sees onoe in his eyes. In the series, I did not see much of the similarity with his live action counterpart. (he is very handsome though)
- the bits and pieces of the manga are rearranged to fit it in 8 episodes. So, as a manga reader, it became a bit weird for me, but still flowed naturally to the end.
What I loved:
- Onoe. He is soooo similar to the manga character he is portraying that I loved the great casting so much. He is very adorable just like his character. I really love the way he melts in Kaburagi's embrace everytime.
- other casted characters. Everyone is perfectly casted. Down to their lines, actions, mannerisms, even their looks perfectly fit their manga counterparts.
- this is one of the best Y manga adaptation I have ever seen. and I am very thankful that they didn't use the white background japanese bls always use when having NC scenes.
To everyone, this is highly recommended to watch. Also, to read. Just keep in mind that this is based on an old manga that is still being serialized right now, so to people of today, they might see some topics as a big nono. But this is very cute, I promise. Well directed as well.

I loved this!
I thought this BL was so cute! It was a bite sized drama with a lot of action within. The plot was consistently interesting and kept me so engaged that I finished it in one sitting! The miscommunication trope is probably frustrating to people because it's the most realistic, but I enjoyed it, as well as the jealousy throughout.
I enjoyed watching their relationship develop. Their cases were also really fun to follow. I never knew the subject's true colors!
I am sure I will come back to rewatch!

Easy Filler Drama
Despite having a lukewarm response from viewers, I found the couple to have a workable dynamic that wasn't too "lovey-dovey" or overbearing. Onoe is a typical shy/reserved man who is passionate about the work he chooses; Kaburagi is the "playboy" who apparently has the sexual swagger (I had a hard time being convinced). But bring them together and there's obvious sexual tension that entices you to keep on watching. Yes, that sex scene was... safe but the line from Kaburagi saying that Onoe can "smell like him" if they live together was good.A wonky story but I think it works to help J-BL watchers prepare for the real main events of 2023 or for newcomers of BL to dip their toes in the water before going big. Think of it as a good binge-watch while you wait for your main shows to release their weekly episodes.

Good as a standalone
If you don't come in with the expectation of this series being a perfect remake of the manga, you'll like this (or at least won't hate it). This drama falls into the lukewarm territory between great and average for me. I really enjoyed both characters individually and I enjoyed their story but I think there is a little bit of a pacing issue when it comes to their relationship development. I wish we had a more fleshed out one sided rivalry phase and a gradual change to the love interest phase. Despite that, this series still managed to get me invested in the main characters because they are both just so lovable.
I do hate the way they tried to trivialize the whole selling actresses to the porn industry thing though - it was not meant to be simplified into the whole "he's doing it for love" trope.
I still do think this is worth a watch if you're not too deeply attached to the manga. I personally would rewatch this a couple more times.
