The Journey to Naren Grasslands
On the way to the grasslands, Zhang Fei Xia took Wen Xiu to see the "Fairy Cove" at dusk, and her treasured box fell into the stream. While walking back to the tent, they were saved from wolves by Suliman.
Continuing the journey, the three women and the caravan led by Suliman stopped by Bugassenden's yurt. The female chief of the Mongol tribe was the grandmother of Chao Ge, who was courting Tokan, the widowed daughter-in-law of Suliman.
In the evening, Ba Tai warned Wen Xiu that she should not smile too much at the men when they would reach the summer ranch.

The journey starts with the generosity of Sulitan who orders his son to give the women another horse, so they can follow his caravan to the grasslands. The women will experience wonder, sorrows, and frights and show their resilience. They will also meet other nomads, whose lifestyle is quite different, and a woman clan leader, whose family is linked to Sulitan. Intercommunication again is not totally easy but the new horizons are an eye opener for Wenxiu.
