So the story of this drama is quite different from the cliche rom-coms, yet it just wasn't fulfilling. The contractual marriage plot did not make any sense and the obsessive ex-wife of the male lead was just a bad character with good acting. The plot just did not make a lot of sense, with many loopholes. It was just a high-budget drama with a not-so-likable plot. Casting I would say is the only thing that stood out in this drama as all the actors did justice to their roles. Other than that it was just ehhhh.To anyone wondering whether to start it or not, I would say this drama is something that you can pass on. There are much better shows you can watch in the meantime.

Gila ya........... Tadinya maju mundur nonton ini karna review dan skornya gak gitu bagus untuk ukuran drama yang diperanin GOngyoo.Gada keterpaksaan harus nylesaiin sampe end, tapi dgn senang hati out of curiousity gue namatin drama ini dalam satu hari di kantor. Dan endingnya........... WOW......... Open ending tapi it's a good sign! Reminds me of Doona~~~~

Je n'étais visiblement pas la cible du drama. J'ai eu énormément de mal à m'y retrouver et surtout à me laisser transporter par l'ambiance particulière que la série propose. Je pensais apprécier n'importe quel genre, pourvu qu'il soit réalisé à la sauce coréenne, mais c'était avant de m'arrêter sur *The Trunk*. Amoureux des films noirs, ce drama est pour vous. Me concernant, je sais dorénavant que je suis en divorce avec lui.Au-delà de tout ça, je salue la performance de tous les acteurs. Grâce au jeu qu'ils m'ont offert, j'ai pu passer un agréable moment (et c'était tellement en cohérence avec le reste).
Je me devais aussi de faire mes remerciements au chef décorateur qui a travaillé sur le tournage. Il a su transmettre l'ambiance pesante qui oppressait les personnages de l'autre côté de l'écran.

Dizer que a descoberta do baú no lago levou a um turbilhão de segredos por trás da empresa NM é exagero, tipo, não levou a nada sobre a empresa em si ou algo assim, eu mesma nem fazia a ligação com a empresa quando esse caso rolava, essa parte sinceramente não me prendeu, gostei bem mais da parte melancólica e sofrida da história.Os personagens são pessoas profundamente danificadas, estão envoltos em manipulação, traumas, relacionamento tóxico e doentio.
Gong Yoo interpreta Jeong Won, um viciado que é super dependente de sua ex-esposa e é consumido por traumas de infância.
Seo Hyun Jin, por outro lado, interpreta a No In Ji, uma personagem deprimida e de coração partido que foi abandonada por seu noivo, o que a deixou emocionalmente desligada e a leva a se tornar uma esposa de aluguel da NM.
A Jung Yun Ha interpreta a Lee Seo Yeon, a ex esposa manipuladora de Jeong Wo, pensa numa personagem que me fez raiva.... desequilibrada, irritante e que está disposta a fazer qualquer coisa para mantê-lo sob seu controle.
Uma coisa que me deixou um pouquinho perdida foi a história ter sido contada um pouco fora de sequência, com flashbacks fragmentados, isso me fazia perder o fio da meada.
Gostei da química de Gong Yoo e Seo Hyun Jin.
'The Trunk' foi bom, mas não me cativou TAAAANTO quanto eu achei que iria.

O drama começou com uma proposta bastante promissora
, misturando suspense, mistério e romance com uma abordagem mais madura. A premissa sobre uma agência de casamentos arranjados e os segredos obscuros por trás dela parecia intrigante, mas o drama não conseguiu sustentar essa ideia ao longo dos episódios.Embora o início tenha um ritmo interessante, a narrativa logo se perde. O enredo é repleto de furos, e os plots que poderiam trazer grandes reviravoltas acabam sendo mal explorados. O evento principal da trama, que deveria ser o ponto alto, não tem uma resolução satisfatória, o que deixa uma sensação de algo inacabado. O final em aberto só aumenta a frustração, parecendo mais uma falta de planejamento do que uma escolha criativa.
Os personagens começam bem, com camadas e conflitos que chamam atenção, mas o desenvolvimento deles é decepcionante. In Ji e Jeong Won, os protagonistas, têm uma química palpável no início, mas quando finalmente ficam juntos, até isso perde força. Seo Yeon, a ex-esposa, tinha tudo para ser uma antagonista fascinante, mas suas motivações são confusas, e suas ações não fazem sentido, prejudicando o impacto que ela poderia ter tido na história.
As cenas “+18”, que poderiam adicionar intensidade à trama, acabaram parecendo desnecessárias. Em vez de enriquecer a narrativa, essas cenas desviaram o foco e não contribuíram para o desenvolvimento dos personagens ou da história.
Apesar disso, há pontos positivos, como as atuações sólidas dos protagonistas e a direção visual, que soube criar uma atmosfera misteriosa e envolvente no início. Infelizmente, isso não foi o suficiente para compensar os problemas do roteiro.
Conclusão - esse tinha tudo para ser um grande drama, mas se perdeu no caminho. A falta de resolução para os mistérios, o final em aberto e o desperdício do potencial dos personagens resultaram em uma experiência decepcionante. Assisti sem muita expectativa, mas pelo elenco, estava esperando mais, e terminei com a sensação de que poderia ter sido muito melhor. É um drama que começou forte, mas acabou frustrando, especialmente para quem gosta de histórias bem amarradas e com desfechos satisfatórios.

cuesta mucho entender de qué se trata, hay partes que son muy confusas. en mi opinión la trama es buena, el cast también pero hay algo en el guión que lo hace muy difícil de seguir. le pongo un 7 raspando.[spoiler] igual le concedo que había pensado que iban a asesinar a la protagonista y me sorprendió gratamente con el plot twist.

THE MATURE ROMANCE/ACTING WE VE BEEN STARVING FOR
THE GOOD:There is something that has been lacking in K-drama for awhile,versatile actors that started it alld
were forgotten for a minute,while young ones were paraded on our screen wsith their shaped noses
and perfect faces but lacking in acting and personality..I can name a few but thats not why we are here.
This was a perfect example of old is gold.The maturity in terms of acting and screen presence was top.
I noticed that the casting director had one visual in his mind,tall,dark and manly,all the side characters
almost had the same physical features and were really fitting in the frame not forgetting talented.
The color tones used,the mood,the melo sounds and sights,the camera angles and the OST were really done well
Though it was marketed as mystery,it didnt give out that eerly feling.The director knew what kind of architecture to
use in this drama,He went for an edgy mid-century style seen in Han Jeong Won's both houses,the whole production
set and wardrobe,the cars that shown the ML's wealth status,all were on point.
THE BAD:
K-dramas have always been known to be short and quick to finish but I feel like this drama should have been at least
10 or 12 episodes,the story was there and it could have been easly developed and expanded,but looking at Gong Yoo's
drama history,he tend to pick projects with shorter episodes.
Just Like all the viewers werent happy with the ending,I believe it would have been better,but with 8 episodes what else
were we expecting?
The ML's career as a producer was not something that was explored,If you werent attentive,you might miss what exactly
does he do,showing up at the studion and laying on the sofa while he is two assistants add extortions on the computer
didnt sell enough.He is "boss" O Hyeon Cheol seem to represent him on the career front but I would have loved to see a scene or
two where he is emmersed in the producton role.
THE UGLY:
I will be honest,Am not a fan of mystery trope so the fact that I enjoyed this drama means there was no mystery.
The whole time,you felt like there is something twisted that the director is trying to bring out but in the end nothing
came out.I can say that if you are a mystery hardcore and like twist,turns and psychotic elements,you will sleep on
this.
OVERALL:
This is my personal opinion,I came to the Trunk looking for mature romance and mature acting and thats what I got
and am satisfied with this as they added a pinch of good visuals and perfect production.

primeira coisa que nos brilha aos olhos é o design super frio e minimalista. toda a narrativa e a interação entre os personagens complementam a esse tom. o ponto alto do drama é certamente o cast com suas performances excepcionais, mas que por muitas vezes são limitadas pelas direções repetitivas que é levado. até certo momento, the trunk tenta desesperadamente fugir das fórmulas de um k-drama clássico, mas se perde nas conclusões e empurra emoções exageradas até cansar os espectadores, não consegue resolver seus dilemas e os sustentar até o final. o suspense morre no meio do caminho e o romance não chega nem a nascer de fato. apesar disso, ver gong yoo e seo hyunjin contracenarem, mesmo que numa obra morna, foi um dos pontos altos da temporada de k-dramas de 2024.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
More Psychology than Thriller
First allow me to confess that I am a huge fan on Gong Yoo and I have loved him since Coffee Prince. Further, I lean more towards soft romances, with a gentle storyline and I shy away from dark and grotty stories. So, fact that I watched this, says a lot about it. Also, I have rewatched multiple times as is recommended because the story is so layered, even if simple.I feel the series tried a little too hard on the mystery side and people who enjoy this genre saw through it fairly quickly resulting in boredom. However, I think the story was heavy on psychological themes and the mystery just added an extra layer of flavour to what was already cooking.
This is what I think I saw. There are those who go through life fearfully, some who are unable to communicate their needs and some who do not know or recognize their needs, some lack of self awareness even. We can find each of our characters in these descriptions. Loving from a place of fear is characterised by constant worry that you will be left and to prevent that from happening, an enormous amount of control is exerted onto the love interest and relationship. Depending on who they are, the result could be catastrophic. In this instance, the control was met with abandonment issues and lack of communication skills. How do I tell you what I need from you and be sure that you will not leave me?
What I appreciated the most from here, was the character development. We see our male lead emerge from under the thumb to become his own man who feels sufficiently secure to say this is what I need and only you can give it to me. Of course, sweet romance never killed anyone and so to add to that and say ' I will wait for you' has many of us swooning. The love scenes between our male lead and his current wife, had me levitating off of my couch, they felt so real to my body. Mainly because these are characters fairly close to me in age and so I could relate so much to the need for touch and for emotional connection. The other couple's love scenes did not reach me at all.
There were moments when I felt the female lead was not meeting the male lead emotionally and I was not clear if this was the acting or how the character was written, but this is negligible. All cast members brought their a-game and it showed.
I recommend this series if you are into growth, finding love and connection at any age, but most especially during the middle ages.

Rarely watch Korean dramas and The Trunk is my 2nd kdrama after crash landing on you.I will definitely watch Seo Hyun Jin old dramas 😝
I have repeatedly watching the Trunk … yes 4 times in fact and each time I found something else I’ve missed whether it is the beautiful scenes, Gong Yoo loving eyes looking at Hyun Jin and chemistry between the leads give me a new perspective what is real true love when you are in a relationship, protective loving honesty and not complete without your other half. Hope they will win some awards in 2025 Baeksang.

Primeiramente pra dizer que só assisti o drama por causa do gong yoo e terminei só por causa dele tambémNão sei se não tava no clima de ver esse drama em específico ou se foi porque não gostei dele mesmo, achei parado, parecido com enredo de série americana, já houve dramas que trataram de vingança e suspense muito bem mas esse não rolou.
Inclusive não tivemos respostas do tipo: como a amiga dela morreu? Por qual motivo? Foi por causa do stalker? E como o bonitão lá se apaixonou pela ex esposa do jeong won? Pq sinceramente eu não vi nada nela, nem mostrava o relacionamento deles (além do íntimo e que ele era pau mandado dela)
Apesar da história boa e que poderia prender, achei confuso, pontas soltas, incluindo o relacionamento do amigo dele, era pra mostrar o motivo de pedir o divórcio entre tantos? Não entendi, pra que mostrar se não aprofunda?
Gostei da química do casal, é uma dinâmica interessante, você vê ela bem mecânica sem nem dar um sorriso mas as ações falavam mais alto e estava sempre mostrando que se importava com ele. Enfim, não tenho muito pra falar não

Boring ending
Everything was going well until we got to chapter 6, from then on the story started to seem boring to me. The story about the murder and the stalker, I found it very ¿? what are you trying to tell me, how to find out who the murderer is is very boring, the reason why he does it is also boring (personally). Maybe if the story had a stronger motive about the murder it would be much better, but well, the ending was not a big deal and leaves you very much like, I watched 8 chapters for this?I had read bad reviews when I was on the 4th or 5th chapter and I thought they were exaggerating by giving it a bad rating, but no. I was not.
It's ok to pass the time, but you'll probably be disappointed by the ending, or maybe not.
