Rom-com is for sure rom-coming!
I need to start saying that I loved this drama but it wasn’t 10/10 for me as it was for some people. Fortunately the issues that I had didn’t make me hate the drama but I still need to talk more about them here. First, I don’t know if this is a unpopular opinion or not but Sol’s best friend relationship with Sol’s brother was SO ANNOYING. The relationship was annoying and the characters were also annoying. I usually love second couples in rom-com but I seriously disliked them here.Second, I felt like the villain had too much importance in the story but we practically don’t know that much about him, which was a bit disappointing and made the character lack personality. I get it that this is mainly a rom-com but he was too superficial. This lack of personality and involvement made me start to think that he was dragging the story down and being a totally uninteresting character. The writer tried to create a scary environment for him which was working in the beginning but then becomes boring later on. And I also felt that 16 episodes were a bit too much. The writer wasn’t developing the main characters that much, the side characters, not even the bad guy, so it was really needed to have 16 episodes? I think 12 episodes would’ve been better and would make the story less draggy.
But being honest with yall, as I said in the beginning, even with these issues that I pointed out I still enjoyed this drama SO SO much! I think the main reason for that is that Lovely Runner have everything that I like in a romcom and everything that makes a rom-com good for me. We have a super chemistry between the main leads, we have cute and funny scenes, we have ML being the cutest puppy handsome guy (personally I just love when a Ml is over heels for the FL, like a completely loser) and amazing OSTS (I will listen to them A LOT). Also the story wasn’t perfect but I think it’s exciting enough until a certain point. A positive point for me as well was that the SML doesn't interfere too much with the main couple, which is great.
Lovely Runner was a drama that I found myself eagerly awaiting new episodes every week and I became obsessed with the main couple. If you like the biggest romcom clichés with a cute couple and plot that intrigues you enough (with you ignore some main issues), I think the chances of you finding this drama at least enjoyable are high.
PS: I am completely in love with Wooseok, gosh this man is everything!!!!

Probably my favorite drama ever :)
I literally made an account to rate this k-drama because I've actually never done it.. lmaoWhen I saw people describing this as something kpop fans would love - when the drama first started out and only a few episodes were out, I thought it was gonna be one of those cringy, unrealistic, obsessive ones. Also, often times they make these love and time-travel dramas so unrealistic and not-human-like so you can't really connect with the characters. But man, was this a journey.. Absolutely amazingly written and one of the best show productions I've ever seen. It makes you addicted to the drama, even though its unrealistical in the *time-travel* aspect, it makes you wonder if you'd do the same if you were Sol, if this happened to you.. if you would do everything to save the person you love. It has a beautiful message, all the actors are so talented and did such an amazing job. This kdrama is so gentle, it has such funny and bright scenes that you are laughing out loud and it was so perfectly intense in the dangerous aspect and also the relationship between the two main characters was making us feel all the tension. Their chemistry was out of this world.
I truly hope we get to see more dramas like this.

I really like this drama because the vibe is very bright, cool, exciting, comfortable and fun. the sad scenes were also very heart touching, especially the female lead, her acting was really good, she did a great job. scenes when she falls in love, cries, or silly, she brings it very well. and ofc because of her excellent acting, the male lead can express his emotions perfectly. they are both a sweet couple. and their every soundtrack are very good and I often listen to them many times because they are that good.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

This drama has split reviews. People either hate it or love it. One thing I can say to people who haven't watched it - make your own choice. I watched this drama without reading the reviews or expecting anything, and I ended up enjoying the show. Yes, there were weaknesses in the plot, but the cast carried the plot through in times where it seemed to falter. If you see this drama as it is - a simple romance drama and not a technical thriller scifi, then you can really enjoy it.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

acho que nunca vou superar essa história e essa trilha sonora perfeita. lovely runner, você foi inesquecível, te amo um milhão.sobre um amor que acontece em todas as linhas temporais possíveis, mesmo que o passado seja mudado, mesmo que ele seja apagado da vida dos personagens. de bônus, muitas risadas e lágrimas, mini surtos, sensação de coração quentinho e também música boa.
posso até arriscar dizer que esse é aquele tipo de drama que não envelhece, que você assiste, uma, duas, cinco, dez vezes e continua sentindo o mesmo e não enjoa. porque essa história é tocante, linda, triste e marcante.
sol, sunjae, taesung, podem morar no meu coração, pra vocês eu abro essa exceção. ??

this is gonna be good… (Pilot review)
I expected a cute romantic story about teenage love, and although it may be like that in the future episode, this first episode opens with a very serious topic, depression.I really like how they are portraying this emotion and I really hope they will continue doing so seriously, making us understand more of the characters feeelings and reasons.
I also really liked how the female lead becomes fan of the band and the male lead because he saves her life by being sensitive and empathetic towards her. (btw I’m already in love with him for this)
can’t wait to see how this story will unfold…

Byeon Woo-seok as Ryu Sun-jae steals the show as the ideal traditional romantic male. Putting our main character's safety above his own, being strong, handsome, and famous while still earnest, honest and sentimental. Kim Hye-yoon as Im Sol has great chemistry with him, but her character and acting is a bit one note on its own.
This drama will go down as one of my all time favorite romances, but unfortunately not one of my favorite shows overall. The premise of a 'groundhogs day' is somewhat unique to start, but there's a lot here rehashed from the K-Drama plot bin including serial killers, slapstick comedy about working class people, etc. as the scenario repeats, and repeats, and repeats it starts to wear thin.
BUT YET! I could watch Ryu Sun-Jae being in love with Im Sol for 50 episodes if need be, that's how good the romance is here. It's worth a watch despite the flaws. Music is strong and there's some scenes worth a rewatch.

This Kdrama will be forever in my heart ??
Lovely Runner was my every week happiness, it got me smiling, crying, blushing, giggling, squealing and kicking my feet all the time. When I started this drama, I had no idea it would take over my whole life. It made me feel everything, even though I do not like Mondays, I'd wait for every week just to watch it, and I would spend hours making up theories for future episodes.I’m happy for all the cast and production team and thankful for their efforts to give us a wonderful drama. The story was executed so well and the actors did such an amazing job portraying their characters, I felt very touched.
Byeon Woo Seok did an exceptional job portraying his character, Sun Jae. This role was made for him, and he owns it. I’m so happy that he’s receiving the recognition and love he deserves, his acting is so good.
As for Kim Hye Yoon, she is a very good actress and has portrayed Sol very well. (I suffered with her character every time ?).
And finally, our Kim Taesung, played by the amazing Song Geon Hee. I loved him so much, and the fact that he was not an annoying character but lovely and funny.
The OST is EVERYTHING ? I could listen to it forever. I love that Byeon Woo Seok sings and does it so well, his voice is so beautiful.
The ending was perfect. The failed proposal was so funny, but the actual proposal was sooo beautiful and touching? I loved the fluff and cuteness of the entire last episode, and that scene with the halmoni made me cry so much. ?
Overall, This honestly made my Mondays and Tuesdays so much fun. Best k-drama I watched in 2024 so far, everything was really great! Lovely Runner reminds me why I enjoyed watching Kdramas so much. I don't think I will be able to move on for a long time. 1000/10 ⭐
PS: Future viewers, If you're hesitating to watch this, trust me you're not gonna regret it. Maybe the time travel part is a little inconsistent, but the writing and direction are amazing, and the acting is even better.
PS 2: Now every time it's raining or I see an umbrella ☂️ I'm going to think of lovely runner. ?

Nossa, eu me apaixonei muito pelos personagens principais. Acho que o que mais me envolveu foi a atuação magnífica deles, do que pela história em si. Até os personagens secundários eram magníficos. Não retiro o fato do enredo ser bom, mas acredito que tinha algumas coisas que poderiam ter sido melhor desenvolvidas. OST espetacular e envolvente! Você fica com ela na mente e não para de cantar. Dumb in the best possible way!
This drama has been a very fulfilling experience from beginning to end. Show of the year so far! A list of amazing elements:- The pilot episode: Hear me out, every kdrama so far for me has been a struggle to get into. No pilot episode by itself has ever held my attention the way this one did. KHY’s acting alone in the first episode was enough to pull me in. They did an Excellent job on writing the best pilot episode in the entire dramaland!
- Excellent FL! One of the best FL’s I’ve ever seen in a kdrama. She’s brave, determined abd puts him first almost everytime. Also, the actress is incredibly entertaining and has the most cheerful temperament. She’s a delight to watch!
- A ML who is worth all of the struggles! Sun Jae(a)… is sweet, shy, caring (the whole list of positive adjectives lol), but also kind of an idiot/loser in front of Im Sol. He truly brings life to the show with his smile and infectious energy. (And his ‘aggressive’ kissing scenes ?)
- Usually I’m not the most interested in romantic shows, but this is certainly Romance done right! They’re overly cute, but when you consider the timelines and everything they went through, the cuteness/aegyo makes sense!
- The supporting cast (In Hyuk, grandma, Kim Tae Sung, mom, dad, manager) were all perfect in their respective roles. All of the supporting cast had their own mini story, and a purpose in the plot, which is refreshing since they weren’t simply adding pointless characters.
- The music/orgininal soundtrack from “Eclipse” charted for real in Korea, since that’s how amazing it is!
- Exceptional acting from all of the actors, but especially from BWS as this is his first large scale male lead role!
A few cons (unfortunately!) :
- I liked the best friend, but in the early episodes Im Geum and her story was the only parts I forwarded in the show. It didn’t hold my attention, seemed a little pointless, and it kind of made me cringe. (Like them happily married with kids in the future though!)
- Plot holes: regardless of how interesting or amazing the show is, it has quite a few plot holes. In one of the early episodes Sun Jae says “I would have still done swimming at 19 even if I knew how it would turn out.” That made me so sure he knew what was going on, or time travelled as well. Since the original webtoon has that story, perhaps they planned for it but changed it after? It was just a little strange that the ML ended up being more of Mary Sue character (very iconic lol) despite multiple parts that make you believe he knows what’s going on.
The time travel has some issues as well with timelines not matching up and some stuff they missed. Sun Jae’s unexplored depression and Sol’s disability were kind of pointless at the end and should’ve been explored more.
I’m not usually the person to say this, but there’s enough sadness and social commentary in real life. I like the idea of the leads having a miserable fate and a fun adventure which leads to a way happier ending. Ultimately, it’s good, direction, acting, singing, so I can overlook the writing here because of the joy these dumb characters bring. And the show is worth more than 1 watch, which isn’t something I’ve felt about any show before!
