My overall review of the series is that it was ok. Wish it would more vampire action in the series between the love of the vampire and human. No se como la he podido terminar, pero probablemente sea el peor bl q he visto nunca.La historia no va a ninguna parte, los actores son todos malísimos actuando, tienen 0 química, la producción es de 6€, unos paraguas y un sueño. Hay momentos que dan muchísimo cringe, por ejemplo cuando Yoh le aclaricia la barriga a Pun como si fuese un gato.
Lo único bueno de todo esto, es que si tienes problemas de insomnio y te lo pones antes de dormir, te vas a quedar dormido a los 10 mins.

Ok ok, in all seriousness, I could totally understand why someone would drop this faster than I dropped my brother as a baby. But I think one thing should be clear when jumping into the first episode of 1000 Years Old. This is Camp at it's finest and is in no way near trying to be serious. Sure it has serious moments, but the only way you'll get enjoyment out of those moments is if you shut your brain off and just enjoy the show for the vibes. Even the plot-twist itself isn't anything crazy and has been done before a million times.But its in the way the characters interact with each other and the quirks of this show that give it it's charm. I genuinely feel like 1000 Years Old is an acquired taste kind of BL. That isn't meant for everyone but definitely stands out from the crowd and resonates with those who enjoy a good and honest BL that wears its heart on its sleeve, just like the 1000 Year Old vampire Pun.

The entertainment aspect depends on the person
Personally, although the drama had certain plot holes, acting skills can be improved, and the plot, overall, relied a lot on the mysteriousness of Pun, it is a cute watch for a mid-week break. However, I know if I watched it after airing, I would not have been able to continue.Major Plot Hole: *Spoiler* I am not sure if it was me who missed it or it was never addressed, but, in the show, it was never mentioned how Pun was able to stay with Yoh longer. Was it the possible consumption of human blood or his marriage with Janja, which seemed somewhat pertinent, aside from the romance aspect.
Acting: This is one of the parts that I tend to use for deciding whether a drama is worth watching. I would say the acting was not bad, but definitely, with more experience, it will improve.
Plot: The main premise of the story surrounded Pun's life and how Yoh gets involved in it. I feel like the story, basically, progressed because of Pun, the other vampires, and the fact that not many questions about Pun were answered even at the end of the show. It was, mainly, curiosity which made me watch the show.
A fun watch and I am excited to see the upcoming projects of the cast.

1000 Years Old es una propuesta complicada de definir. Un vampiro que parece no entender su propia existencia, o no querer compartirla, que se enamora, nuevamente, de un humano que no es capaz de comprender sus propios sentimientos. Todo eso, adornado con el poder de la amistad para sacar adelante una extraña obsesión relacionada con la sopa de sangre de cerdo.¿Es lo peor que he visto en mi vida? No. ¿Echaré de menos el momento de ponerme a ver al chico más tonto y su vampiro? Sí. ¿Volvería a verla? Definitivamente no. ¿Quiero saber más de Shane y de Opal en el futuro? Definitivamente.
Aun habiendo hecho este viaje consciente de las deficiencias del guion, siento que el último episodio es una falta de respeto para la audiencia, un ejercicio pobre de storytelling que intenta dar una motivación a la búsqueda entre sí de los protagonistas, pero que acaba por robarle el alma a la historia.
Una pena, porque ya había leído esa tendencia por parte de este creador.

Not the best yet not the worst
Okay so I have HUGE expectation when people been hyping this series before it even started. Especially when it is Vampire au! so I thought it could compete with Vampire project but well.. nah. 1000 Years old is a different kind of vampire au genre than Vampire Project. I feel like it somehow has soft fluff chill kind of series. The conflict is not really heavy, just to let the others know that Vampire does exist which is very cute. The character is not that threatening to be honest like Somchai. Yes, he was supposed to be the villain in this series but he is not that tense and bad and is it just me or he looks like Dunk? LMAO. Anyway, at first, I feel like this series are boring but soon, after ep 6, it started to become interesting especially that we found out Somchai is Pun's older brother which makes me think that it should be the other way round instead lol.Side pairing not much since the series mainly focus on main pairing. BUT I DO SHIP SOMCHAI X SHIN LOOLLLL. SHIN IS SO SILLY I LOVE HIM ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Anyway, i think they could shorten the series to be 6 - 8 episodes. 12 episodes are way too long and they include unecessary scenes in it too much and also I think what makes it slightly boring is because of there is not much fluff scenes and mind you, there is only ONE kiss scene. Yup. you heard me. ONE KISS SCENE. NC ? NAHHHHHHHH WAY GONE LOLOLOLOL. But its cute tho. I somehow like it lol. I must applaud Opal's acting. I WOULD NEVER believe it if anyone told me that its his first time on screen like he look so fucking natural???? AND UM HELLLOOOO YourMood is so cool too! HE IS 30 but he looks so adorable!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ his acting is way too natural that I am impressed.
Anyway, im gonna give it 7/10 :)

Pork blood soup with no flavor
Great recipe, they just forgot to follow it.There wasn't a clear path with this story. I kept waiting for something to happen, just to be offered pork blood soup until they had to force-feed it down my throat. I get it, the first few episodes- no, actually; More like the first few minutes of the first episode were funny and entertaining, but did they really forget what this was about? It was almost as if they didn't know how to get out of the premise and started forming the plot around an insignificant thing that wasn't even worth being a plot point, much less the whole plot. It almost seems like this was a collection of advertisement videos for an actual pork blood soup business disguised as a drama. I wouldn't be surprised if the actors were also just workers of the business, because there was no depth in what they were expressing.
This was the most shallow drama I've ever completed. In the beginning, it seemed interesting. The setting had its perks and would've had potential to make a great story- however, the writers really gave up on this. I liked the idea of a modern day vampire and the creativity with their problems to adapt, especially in Thailand where the sun hardly ever sets completely- But overall I can't name anything else I liked other than these struggles they showcased. This became awkward very quickly.
Shortly:
The pacing was awfully slow, the story went nowhere even though we were introduced to our "antagonists" pretty early on, it seems that they just started focusing more on them building their pork blood soup business even though in the end I couldn't grasp what was so important about it anyways. It didn't bring anything to the plot and most of the episodes felt like fillers.
To note:
I watched the last 6 episodes or so while pressing the 10 second skip button continuously, so it might be that I've missed some details that would contradict something I've said but it's highly unlikely. This drama lacked depth, and honestly nearly everything a good drama should have. There wasn't really anything that particularly irritated me about this show, and there are plenty of worse out there, but I still wouldn't exactly recommend this.

I'm Not Angry, Just Disappointed
Episode one is usually rough so I'm giving this the benefit of the doubt, but I have a strong feeling the entire series is going to require a lot of it. Cringe alone doesnt make for a good series and holy hell is there cringe. And not even good cringe or funny cringe, just.... "uh ok, i guess" cringe. We begin with a stalker who refuses to believe he's the weird one. And he is, somehow, slightly less weird than the person he's stalking. Slightly.Also the 1000 year old supernatural being has no secrecy or self-preservation? Sure cool. I can suspend disbelief there if only because in the trailer we see that he's not exactly attached to living but something about the execution is.....suspect. Again, gonna chalk all this up to first episode growing pains and cross my fingers that it gets better.
After finishing episode two, it was much less excruciating. If we follow this trend, episode three (or maybe four) on should be watchable, so I'm in it for another two weeks, I guess.
After watching episode three, I finally figured out why this irks me: it feels like a middle school fanfiction. The sheer amount of characters repeating lines and staring with no talking, just awkwards giggles, is painful. I was watching on 2x and it took up a lot of the episode even still. Three episodes in and this is the first episode that feels like something happened, but it still feels like nothing is happening. Like the script has so few plot points that they really drag out what should be a cute lil siesta into a nine hour sleep.
Episode four kinda seals the deal, I'm dropping this. It feels like a middle schooler's crackfic which isn't necessarily an awful thing, but all the dead space also makes it feel like filming day was the first time any of the actors saw the script. The humor has not been landing for me, despite being able to see every moment thats *supposed* to be funny. The plot is thinner than one-ply toilet paper and the two new characters managed to somehow be even less compelling than the cast we already know (except Mild, who can do no wrong.) I'm not taking this series seriously at all-- not even remotely-- which usually makes things better, but it's still impressively bad. Alas.

Honestly, it’s not that good
What more could we ask for other than a handsome vampire and a cute curious boy? That’s something I would say if the plot was good. Look I’m not angry just disappointed. Visually the show is appealing. Yes the scenery is pretty and so is the entire cast however, production wise, the shooting is done okay but there are some weird cuts and odd sound effects here and there. I did find myself giggling and cringing at the same time so I guess you can call that a healthy balance in a BL drama lol. Both MC are equally weird and I’m here for it but the show is slower in terms of pace and cringy which are never a good thing to have simultaneously.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
