not one to write reviews but this drama is too good not to. i had not read the webtoon so i had no idea how this was gonna be but it turned out amazing. like genuinely, the plot, the acting, the pacing, the dialogues, everything is perfect. the whole drama is so well written.it is tough to create such a heartfelt and touching kdrama which actually alters your brain chemistry in a positive way. i've had depression for a while now and this drama hit home in a lot of scenes. despite how hopeless the ML's situation feels in the beginning, it is truly amazing how they managed to somehow ignite hope by the ending. the irony is that i was fully prepared for a sad ending, kind of proving true a lot of the points made in the drama about the ML and the ending (tho somewhat predictable if you're being hopeful) was like a reminder that even in such situations things can turn around for the better.
some may feel i am giving a lot of importance to what is just a drama but for someone who has felt a lot of what the ML did, this show actually means a lot. kdramas have anyway played a major role in my life as a coping mechanism and this one truly touched my heart and just made me feel happy ngl?
the drama itself is a rollercoaster of emotions like you will be angry, you'll feel sad, you'll cry and whatnot but it is so SO worth it. not much for rewatch value maybe cause the suspense and curiosity for what comes next plays a big role in keeping you hooked so after knowing the whole plot you might not wanna watch it again. BUT DO WATCH IT ONCE!

Esse drama e um misto de emoções. Ja esteja preparado quando começar ele. Ele aborda temas muito sensíveis com inúmeros gatilhos ao lingo dos episódios. A premissa da história é muito instigante deixa voce querendo saber a cada episódio o que vai acontecer e criando mil teorias para encaixar o motivo dele reencarnar 12 vezes e ganhar o jogo da Morte. Mas além disso temos mais uma premissa de uma serie de assassinatos e que estão relacionados a essas 12 reencarnações que o protagonistas tenta desvendar ao longo trama. Esse drama apenas é o melhor desse ano jogou o sarrafo la em cima para os demais.E como abordado na última frase do drama: Você é único nesse mundo.

Amazing in every way imo
Watching this made me bawl. I dont know if its because I can relate to Yi Jae or what but it made me cry.This drama really was amazing through and through. Showing how rash decisions can be ones greatest regret. While he was justified in wanting to die to end his pain, he was punished for not thinking about the after affects.
As someone who tried the same, this show really made me think about how devastated my own family wouldve been. My parents sacrificed themselves just like Yi Jaes mom. And while my parents are in no way perfect or as nice as Yi Jaes mom, that wouldnt change the fact that my parents wouldve blamed themselves.
A lot of people see an issue with the fact that he was portrayed as selfish and greedy, but in my opinion he wasnt portrayed that way. He got a bunch of shit thrown his way during his life. And because of that he ended up killing himself. But he also blamed other people for his life. Like the man, whose life he wanted, that killed himself on his interview day. Whom in the end, he became him. He died in public, harming those who witnesses his death. Like the girl he accidentally killed when killing himself (my assumption to those sidewalk, covered bodies scenes). He did the same as the man he blamed in ruining his chance at working at Taekang Group.
Life doesnt end up the way we want. But sometimes its still worth living. At some poing we will all end up with some sort of happiness (given one doesnt intervene, like murderers etc).
The whole show is showing the fact that he ignored and took for granted the positives in his life. His mom, his girlfriend and possibly his friends. And solely focused on his wrongs.
While we have the option to do that, it can lead to us harming others. Whether its drastic choices like this or something else.
In the end he learned something from each life. The most notable, the police officer, whom he lived a similar life to. They both lived in fear and were "cowardly". And his mom, as he realized others persevere through all hardships in search of or because of one single happiness source. Each life made him regret his choice.
The ending was a 50/50 for me. Mostly because if its his second life, then wouldnt everyone who he helped end up not happening. The CEO and artist will continue killing. The police officer wont die a hero. The teenager wont stand up for himself, and stop a bully.
But he gets his chance to love what he does have, for however long he has it. Because at the end of the day, he is human and we make choices we regret.

so yeah, i hate life and sometimes i DO want to live on a little island by myself (with a cat and a dog ofc) where no one could tell me what to do or who to be, but also i dont want that at all. as much as that kind of life sounds so free, it sounds so scary and lonely. i feel like you think its always me teaching u smthg, but that's not true at all. you've helped me learn that life is worthwhile BECAUSE we dont go through it alone. life is just so hard and complicated and weird and exhausting, but its those little moments between - going to the next graduating year's Visitas because your friend never got to experience hers, blinking really hard so you dont cry then looking over your shoulder and seeing your friend already crying her eyes out for tomorrow's LS1B PIE and bursting out laughing instead, eating at the crappy dining hall and nervously blushing so hard and your other friend pointing it out and blushing even harder even to your EARS that you just have to put your head down on the table- that make all the weird and the bad and the hurt all worth it.
that's what this kdrama is about actually, and I'll think youll like it very much considering you - a bright 18 year old - is terrified of death. in this show, after a repeated set of failures, a man attempts suicide, but Death forces him to experience the lives of several characters (hehehe including LEE DO HYUN AND GO YOUN JUNG), wherein he learns the value of life. spoiler alert, it's the people, nothing else. we get so caught up in the pedantics of life - chasing miscellaneous titles; rejecting who we are, more terrified of rebuff from friends and family than living for ourselves - that we forget the true meaning of this one life we lead. so yeah, fuck life! it sucks major balls! i mean, I have so many regrets. i wish I could have said "I like you" to that person or "FUCK YOU" to that other person who may be the same person, but isn't that what makes life so heartbreakingly beautiful? maybe...i rarely do admit this, you were right. love is what makes life worthwhile. to love is to cry and to laugh and to hurt and to maybe die a little bit inside too, but more than anything, to love is to live, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
so, I wont give up on people, as I had planned just last night after a mental breakdown (heheheh). i wont give up on you, so you don't give up on me. ill make sure you get that blackbeard and bofa internship, orgo wont kill you, and you make sure I don't push away the next person I fall for. ill protect your mind and you protect my heart. let's go through this one stupid life (reincarnation theory aside) together, this year and the next and the next.

i dont agree with the last episode
the show itself was pretty good to watch, it was fascinating and entertaining. However, the last episode was unsatisfactory personally. Is the message of the show to not kill yourself and just endure living even if you're feeling depressed? Is it saying that it was a grave sin to want an out for himself? I don't agree that he was entirely at fault for making his mom sad. Though i enjoyed watching it. DEATH'S GAME TRULY IS A MASTERPIECE
This show in itself is a one of a kind type of show. If you love action/thriller type kdrama's then this show is for you. When I first started this show I thought I was not gonna like it but boy was I mistaken. This show truly captures the nature of life and death within itself.Not only is this show's casting top tier, but this show beautifully showcases the effects of death. And how it can affect the people around you and this show truly is a masterpiece of acting, visual effects, ost's. Plus it's really great at putting emotions into the acting scenes that it portrays.

Nailed it for a season 2
The continuation was worth the watch! The plot twist made the show worthy on what it’s like not give up on your life. This show had some delays but can show people that if given time they are able to make it work. The Best Show of 2023 By Far
Yeah, I said it. Not that I've done a very good job keeping up with K-dramas in 2023, but regardless, I really do think Death's Game captures everything beautiful, intricate and powerful about K-dramas. Right from how tightly written every episode is, to the complexity of each character (no matter how long or how brief their appearance), to even the subtle threads that weave the fate of each reincarnation in the show together- for better or for worse.There's nothing much more to say about it, really. The message about suicide was a touch preachy, I'll bite, but in the context of South Korea's suicide epidemic and tightly knit society/family structure, the PSA that life is worth living if only so you can try your hardest for the people who love you makes technical sense, even if it's not an opinion I personally wholly subscribe to.
Acting-wise, you really can't get better than this. Aside from our (brilliant) main characters, every cast member played their role with such conviction, heart and enthusiasm that there wasn't a second I was unconvinced by the naturalness of their character and the situation they were in.
And what would you know, it also made me call my parents up after a long time and catch up. Powerful stuff, indeed.

last episode ?is it really continuity from ep 7 ?
on ep 8 i just feel betrayed of the story that builed till ep 7., its just my imagination maybe they change the writer or something hapen with production. coz i think that last episode have nothing to do with the rest of episode. posesing mom ? and the ending is life again ?i see alot of people talking about plot hole not explained at the ending. but do they even try to explain it ? with that last episode ?
feels like they just try to make it ez sad story by making him poses his mom, and wrap it as ending after he try suicide. after the writer write good story till ep 7,. at last episode i see the writer so pathetic by trying so hard to make it sad.
for me better if either u not air the ep8., or just make him jump and just go to ep 8.

you cannot mock death! this show was amazing! to the point where my husband watched it and asked me omg where did u find this show! my husband watches kdramas in passing but this is one I convinced him to watch and he thanked me lol. hold on to your pearls. This show is incredible. 1st of all why so much handsome cast like i would absolutely die if the villains were that hot. Damn that psychopath ceo and that extremely handsome artist. Ufffff......Jokes aside, the drama is so so so so versatile like it shows so many angles surrounding suicide and I saw alot of people saying they are only showing that we should not commit suicide just beacuse of others. But but but if we watch closely we will be able to understand that they basically covered all the issues regarding suicide which let me tell you
1. The death shows him so many different ways on how he can save his financial life by sending him in different bodies.
All his life he was just trying to pass 1 type of interview but his skills in different lifes shows how capable he actually was. Like when he was a detective or even a gangster. He managed to get not only money but fame too.
2. Death even provide him with alot of money but even the money can't helped him but put him in some more horrible conditions. So it is very true that only money can't buy happiness.
3. Death made him realise how much he was loved and how much he has taken it to granted. How ungrateful he was like only having money problem doesn't give you a reason to end things when you have such supportive, loving, and caring people in your life.
4. Death made him realise that how much 1 suicide can effect the course of life of so many people like the incident that made him to fail his 1st interview. 1 suicide made ML into a loser and the villain into a killer.
5. Death also made him realise how incredibly self-centred he was like he was ok to make her gf regret her life by committing suicide but he himself was not ok when her gf died and become so angry that he almost wasted 4 lifes just to take revenge. Its ok if you die but its not ok when u have to go through.
6. Finally death made him believe that if he can win a death game cant he also win in life? come on.
7. All 12 people he has to live the lives of has it more difficult in one way or other all were dying innocent deaths which they never wished for but here, he has given a life but he wanted to give up without even trying? why? Just beacuse he doesn't have a good job?
Death made him realise that in his mind he was claiming that he is living the worse life but in actual he wasn't even close to what all the other 12 lifes were going through.
I know being a human we all at one point of our life think of suicide but we never actually commit it beacuse we all think about all the possible outcomes of our actions. We should live not beacuse someone else loves us but beacuse we have the possibilities to love ourselves. If our society, education, culture, religion, family or traditions failed us why should we give up on our self? Why should we as a victim punish ourselves.
I requests to all the people reading this please love yourself not for anyone else but for yourself. U have all the options but you just have to figure it out. It will all make sense in the end.
And yes I want a season 2 like come on all these crazy people I want to see them again and also now we have to see how that motherfucker is going to do to save his gf and other peoples lol. I also need an other excuse to see that sexy psycho CEO and daddy artist killer. Damn..........

This part 2 is even more better than the first part. Although I find it funnier on how they died butI guess that's the story goes. The cast really gave their best, they deliver they role well enough. It has an immense message to take care of our life never easily give up learn to face and accept the trials that may come. It's because the people that surrounds you that loved you the most will suffer if you are already died, you will never know their pain if your already dead. Cherished every moment treat them previously when you still have time.I loved that Seo In Guk even sung one of its soundtrack. ??
