Very disappointed ?
The best part of this drama is where the story set when they are young. The relationship among the diners are very good. It spoil the show when they add the rich family and the role of a wicked mother. Don't like the love among a guardian and his ward. The main actor character is too weak and can't protect the people his love and treasure. The wicked mother every time get her way. Very funny, everyone give in to the wicked mother. Even her nephew who can't stand his aunty but still support her all the way. Once they are adult, the story line becomes lousy. The love story between the uncle who sell vegetables and the lady who sell hair assessories is much interesting then the main hero and heroine.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Definitely disappointed in the ending
I really enjoyed the early episodes when Jong Hoon, Oh Bok, Jung Da and Yeong Shin were kids.I think they miscasted the adult Yeong Shin. How they turned that positive kind little girl into such drab adult and a meany to Jong Hoon is beyond me. She just ups and stops feeling for him because of Jung Da. I get friend loyalty but that was too much because Jong Hoon was her friend, too and she loved him.
The relationship between Yeong Shin and her foster father as an adult was sick. I FF’d through a lot of their scenes.
In the end I felt Jong Hoon deserved someone better than Yeong Shin. They were so cute as kids but both were so drab as adult’s because of Yeong Shin.
My favorite character ended up being Oh Bok because he was so cute, positive, sweet and caring as a kid and remained that way as an adult. He and Jung Da really ended up being the cutest couple.
Anyway I guess I expected to see more romance between Jong Hoon and Yeong Shin. Very disappointed in them and wondered why they bothered to have them get married. Too many episodes were repetitive fighting over money and power which I FF’d through. Episodes that could’ve been spent on the 4 friends and their growing pins.

(cross-posted on Viki)I originally came to this drama to see Jae Hee. His character, Jung Kyung-Soo, has quickly become my all-time favorite in this story.
He starts as this kind but aloof-ish and reserved young man running an old diner,
with no ambition or dreams of his own. Then everything changes for him when little Young-Shin (Kim Si-Ha) comes to his life. Now with his heart mended and having found a reason to smile again, he has become a steady pillar to Young-Shin (Jung Woo-Yeon) as she learns about life and all that it throws at her. He’s also like the glue that holds everyone in the Diner family together, even in face of possible conflicts that arise as the younger ones reach adulthood. In a sense, if this story is about Young-Shin and her coming of age as she becomes someone like a “meal”, a “good supper” to warm people’s hearts and bringing them together... I think I could say that Kyung-Soo is the foundation upon which Young-Shin learns to find herself.
While I did come to this story for Jae Hee and I know that I’ll be staying because of him, I was won over by the whole ensemble, especially the Diner family. Even if there are parts where it might feel like it’s dragging (it’s a 120-episode story), it’s still a generally heartwarming drama. They have done a good job in keeping that tone overall so far.
