Lee Dong Wook, Kim Bum, and Kim So Yeon will be the main leads of the upcoming tvN drama "Tale of the Nine-Tailed Season 2."

On April 21, media outlet JoyNews24 shared that Lee Dong Wook and Kim Bum will return to the second season of "Tale of the Nine-Tailed." Kim So Yeon will also join the upcoming drama. It was also revealed that the production already held the first script reading on April 18. 

The first season ended in December 2020. The series got decent results and achieved the highest rating of 5.8 percent. "Tale of the Nine-Tailed" was led by  Lee Dong Wook, Kim Bum, Jo Bo Ah, Kim Yong Ji, Hwang Hee, and Kim Jung Nan. Kim So Yeon will replace Jo Bo Ah as the female lead. 

Because the drama became a seasonal system, there will also be a change in the time setting and background. "Tale of the Nine-Tailed Season 2" is set in the 1930s and will tell the story of how Lee Yeon became a mountain god. It will also showcase the back story of Lee Rang. 

Lee Dong Wook will continue to play the character named Lee Yeon. Kim Bum will also continue as the character named Lee Rang. Kim So Yeon on the other hand will play as the owner of the Gyeongseong restaurant Myoyeongak and the former western mountain god. 

The drama will reportedly have a third season. The broadcast date of "Tale of the Nine-Tailed Season 2" has not yet been revealed.

"Tale of the Nine-Tailed Season 2" will be Lee Dong Wook's follow-up project after his 2021 drama "Bad and Crazy" with Wi Ha Joon, Han Ji Eun, VIXX's Cha Hak Yeon, Sung Ji Ru, and Cha Shi Won. He will also join the upcoming movie "Single in Seoul" with Im Soo Jung, Esom, Lee Mi Do, Jang Hyun Sung, and Lee Sang Yi

Meanwhile Kim Bum already starred in a drama this year. He was part of the 2022 series "Ghost Doctor" with Rain, After School's Uee, APINK's Son Na Eun, Sung Dong Il, and Tae In Ho

This will also be Kim So Yeon's next project after the hit three-part drama "The Penthouse: War in Life." The actress will also reunite with the director and actors of Penthouse in the upcoming film "It’s Alright" with Lee Ji Ah, Uhm Ki Joon, Yoon Jong Hoon, Shin Eun Kyung, and Bong Tae Kyu.
