Park Bo Gum will reportedly lead a new historical war film
The upcoming Netflix period, K-drama Slowly and Intensely has confirmed its cast and production.
On February 10, Netflix officially confirmed the production of Slowly and Intensely. They also confirmed that Song Hye Kyo, Gong Yoo, AOA's Kim Seol Hyun, Cha Seung Won, and Lee Ha Nee will work together to bring life to the K-drama.
Slowly and Intensely is set in the background from the 1960s to the 1980s. It will showcase the happenings and growth of the show business world after the Korean War. It will also reveal the story of a star on stage and the people that help the star to shine.
The series will be produced by director Lee Yoon Jung (The Lies Within, Cheese in the Trap, Coffee Prince) and renowned writer Noh Hee Kyung (Our Blues, Dear My Friends, It's Okay, That's Love, That Winter, the Wind Blows, and The World That They Live In).
Slowly and Intensely already started filming last month. The K-drama will reportedly have 22 episodes and it will exclusively premiere on Netflix.
Song Hye Kyo will bring the character Min Ja to life. Min Ja had a difficult childhood, which made her a resilient adult. Despite living a tough life, she sees an opportunity in the Korean music industry and bravely takes a leap.
Gong Yoo will portray Dong Gu. He is Min Ja's childhood friend and joins her in the Korean music industry. He is humble, always listens to Min Ja, and is loyal to her.
Kim Seol Hyun will play Min Hui in the upcoming K-drama. She has had a love-hate relationship with Min Ja since they were children. She follows Min Ja's decisions without hesitation, but she also rebels against her.
Cha Seung Won will portray Gil Yeo, a renowned musician and mentor who has shaped the careers of numerous successful singers.
Lastly, Lee Ha Nee will play Yang Ja in the series. She is Min Hui's (Kim Seol Hyun's) mother, who also dreams of becoming a singer. Despite her difficult circumstances, she is persistent in pursuing her dream and refuses to give up on becoming a singer.
