tvN unveils their drama lineup for their 15th-anniversary special.

On September 17th tvN releases a video clip showcasing dramas "Jirisan," "Tale of the Secret Royal Inspector and Jo Yi," and "Melancholia" as part of the lineup. All the dramas listed will air in the second half of 2021. 

First on the list is the much-awaited partnership of Jun Ji Hyun and Joo Ji Hoon in the upcoming drama "Jirisan." it was finally confirmed that "Jirisan" will premiere this coming October. 

"Jirisan" will be directed by Kim Eun Hee ("Kingdom" and "Signal") and written by  Lee Eung Bok ("Goblin" and "Descendants of the Sun"). The drama will reveal the story of the best rangers of Jirisan National Park trying to rescue the survivors and lost trekkers. 

Jun Ji Hyun and Joo Ji Hoon will be joined by Sung Dong Il, Oh Jung Se, Jo Han Chul, Jun Suk Ho, and more. 

This drama will be the reunion work of director Kim Eun Hee, Jun Ji Hyun, and Joo Ji Hoon. The three worked together for the "Kingdom: Season 2." Jun Ji Hyun made a special appearance on the series. 

"Jirisan" will air its first episode in October and it will be both available on tvN and the global streaming platform, iQIYI.

The next drama on the list is the "Tale of the Secret Royal Inspector and Jo Yi" with main leads Kim Hye Yoon and 2PM's Ok Taec Yeon. The upcoming drama will have 16 episodes and it is confirmed to air in November. 

"Tale of the Secret Royal Inspector and Jo Yi" is a historical comedy-drama that is centered around an intelligent but lazy grade 6 civil servant agent named Ra Yi Eon and a divorcee woman named Jo Yi who thinks ahead of her time and only focuses on achieving happiness. The drama will be directed by Yoo Jong Sun and the script will be penned by Lee Jae Yoon. 

Kim Hye Yoon will play the role of Kim Jo Yi, a realist who believes that divorce is okay in their era. She wants to have a fresh start in life after separating from her husband. Ok Taec Yeon on the other hand will play the role of Ra Yi Eon. He is a grade 6 civil servant agent but his actual dream is to sell dumplings and set up a small shop.

Last on the list of tvN's 15th anniversary special is none other than "Melancholia."

"Melancholia" is the collaboration work of director Kim Sang Hyub and writer Kim Ji Woon. Just like "Tale of the Secret Royal Inspector and Jo Yi," this new drama will also air in November. 

The upcoming romance drama will feature Im Soo Jung as a high school math teacher and Lee Do Hyun as a math genius student. 

"Melancholia" will revolve around a corrupt private high school with preferential treatment. Im Soo Jung's character named Ji Yoon Soo works at the school as a math teacher. She's very passionate about her subject and tries her best to make her students find joy in learning it. Lee Do Hyun on the other hand is a mathematical genius but ranks last in school. He plays as Baek Sung Yoo who is usually quiet and enjoys his time with himself. He likes to take photos with a DSLR camera.

"Melancholia" will be the second drama of Lee Do Hyun for 2021 while this drama will be Im Soo Jung's return to the small screen after 2 years.

Representative of CJ ENM Business Division Manager Kim Jong Hoon shared that because of love has given to tvN they were able to reach and celebrate 15 years. They prepared several contents for the 15th anniversary such as dramas, variety programs, and more to give more joy to viewers and hoped that they can look forward to it.
