July 2022 Releases
July 2022 dramas on my Watchlist.
-
1. Adamas
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
Disney+. Received quite the negative reviews; however, I want to see where the fuzz is coming from.

2. Ame ni Kieta Himawari
Japanese Drama - 2022, 5 episodes
What a masterpiece! I really really enjoyed watching this drama. It is short but very slow-paced actually allowing a realistic portrayal of investigations: slow and draining. There is no action or overdramatic moment. The drama portrays well how police officers and family members suffer and how evil people can be, I mean who believes that harassing the victim's family is alright?!? I can deffo recommend this drama to those who like slow-paced dark dramas. I believe that this is my favourite Japanese drama. A well-deserved 9/10. I truly do not understand the low rating on the drama's page, maybe they wanted a faster pace? Nonetheless, 100% recommendable to those who like the genre (dark, crime, mystery).
Watched: November 2024.

3. Hidden Edge
Chinese Drama - 2022, 24 episodes
Available online. I accidentally got spoiled about the ending but I still want to watch it.

4. Xing Han Can Lan
Chinese Drama - 2022, 27 episodes
It's a good story with lots of male characters crushing on FL. FL started off as a naive girl but matured and grew throughout the episodes. I appreciated the character growth and action. The plot and setting are nice. I can recommend this drama to those who like historical Chinese dramas. It is really well-done! A well-deserved 8.5/10.
Unfortunately, I dropped Part 2 of the drama, but in the comment below you can see why and why you should still watch the drama.
Watched: September 2022.

5. Love Like the Galaxy: Part 2
Chinese Drama - 2022, 29 episodes
I might have dropped this drama but I wanted to keep it in the list as it is seriously not bad. I really enjoyed th first season and I was really looking forward to watching this. Unfortunately, I only finished ep 13 when I lost motivation or something else stopped me from continuing. I probably planned to continue. However, 2 years have passed and every time I tried to continue I was absolutely bored and not motivated. I only finished one ep since then. Today (November 2024) I tried watching another ep but only half way in I decided to drop this drama. I just cannot get into the drama and as it had been so long, I have also lost any connection I had with the characters. On one of my notes, I had stated "Gonna continue, I already watched so much". Well, if that is the only reason to continue, it is a bad one.
Enough with the rant. I think I can still recommend this and judging from the comments on the drama's comment section, it might be worth it to watch it. My mistake was probably that I stopped watching at a point when it was a tad bit slower. Though, I should also add that I am usually not a huge fan of palace plotting and stuff and rather watch the fighting and action. Part 2 is more focussed on palace plotting. Well, I know that this is a happy ending, so I can happily drop the drama. Nonetheless, if you like historical dramas, go watch it!! It seems really good. I will also keep my 8/10 rating and don't down-vote it, as that was my rating when I really liked the drama. Someone compared it to "The Long Ballad", which I absolutely loved.
