1. Alice in Borderland Season 2
Japanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
+ Action/Parkour, CGI, Direction, Music
I think I ruined season two for myself cuz I read the manga in between s1 and s2. Everything felt like deja vu. The first episode of this season was lame, but the rest was decent. I just didn't like King of ♤ plot. :( Speaking of kings, omg Nude Guy was so distracting. I kept trying to cover up his butt with my hand so I didn't have to see his ass, but of course the positioning was right where the subtitles were. ?♀️ Anyways, I purposely didn't read the last few chapters, so I was happy I didn't spoil the ending too much for myself. :) I think I might've liked this season better had I watched it back to back with s1. I had to remember who the characters were. Also, the fun of trying to guess who the characters were (in relation with Alice in Wonderland) was taken away.

3. She's the Last Weapon
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
It's a dark comedy web drama that I found to be really refreshing. It had similar vibes to Definitely Not Today, except instead of ML trying to kill himself, ML subjects himself to pain. This couple consisted of two weirdos and I absolutely loved them together. Probably not for the usual kdrama watching audience since it's a bloody dark comedy, but if you like Korean noir, you might really like this too.

4. The Foreigner
Chinese Movie - 2017
I just found the plot to be dumb. Like this old guy (regardless of how badass he is) single-handedly went after this organization that may or may not be responsible for a bombing to get a list of names of said bombers. No one knew who did it, so you can't just go attacking people until they "fess up" names. If you get passed this, the action was okay. It had the potential to be more, but nothing made sense from the main character angle of the story. However, the government involvement part did make sense to me.
I'm surprised Jackie Chan is still kicking butt in this (though they purposely aged him). I thought he would've moved on to shifu roles by now.Coproduction ✔

5. Mo Bai
Chinese Drama - 2022, 24 episodes
I'm a sucker for these Love o2o falling in love online type of plots. Like people said, there are a lot of parallels to Love o2o. However, contrary to Love o2o, this has a mean/cold ML. The FL is a bit more likable since she's less starstruck (despite being a fangirl). She's got a mischievous side to her. I also really loved the sibling relationship between FL and her brother as well as her other "brother". It's pretty cliche with its celebrity and assistant type storyline, but it was fun. The first 2/3rd of this drama was very enjoyable and then the last 1/3rd somehow got sloppy. I suspect a lot got edited out. It felt like they skipped over all of these major/dramatic moments, which breaks my heart.
'When did they officially get together? They got together just like that? How anticlimactic. When did he find out her hidden identity? How did their relationship progress to that level and the writing is so nonchalant about it? Did I miss something??' These were all my thoughts going through my head in the last 1/3rd of the drama. Basically, it had the potential for so much more even though it had less of a budget compared to love o2o, but somehow you just feel like someone did you dirty cuz stuff got cut out. I need to read the novel now.Year: 2022 ✔

6. Survive as a Celebrity Manager
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
It had a rough start, but got a bit better. I really wanted to like this for the cast, but sometimes western shows don't translate well when adapted into a Korean series. I mainly just stuck around for the cast and guest appearances, which were awesome. It felt like a Netflix kdrama cast reunion. Other than that, this is slice of life (usually not my cup of tea) and episodic (also not really my thing). I hated how the agents constantly lied to their clients in order to not hurt their feelings or manipulate them into doing something. In true Netflix kdrama/western show fashion, it has an open ending for another season. I'm not sure if I'll watch s2, but the curiosity is killing me. We shall see.

7. Roppongi Class
Japanese Drama - 2022, 13 episodes
This was a terrible remake, so if you've already seen the kdrama, it's gonna be impossible not to compare. It has less developed characters. They actually removed one of the characters entirely (foreigner guy), thus eliminating a few woke storylines. The acting was weak for majority of the cast, except for lead actress. The dialogue for the most part also was weak and unnatural. The use of wigs in this drama was a distraction. They should've just avoided them altogether. Getting the antagonist to bow down just felt dumb compared to the original. Direction was also not as good.
On the plus side, the soundtrack remains awesome. They remade some popular songs and added some new ones of their own. In short, it felt like a cheaper production with questionable casting choices and not much thought put into the writing. I get that jdramas have to condense the storyline to fit a certain number of episodes, but it was sloppy.Country: Japan ✔

8. Love Me in Three Days
Chinese Drama - 2022, 24 episodes
This was a unique story. XD It was like The Beauty Inside but with a chinese romcom twist. I guess you could call this a guilty pleasure with its low budget and overbearing ML. I wouldn't know what to do if such a persistent guy started to pursue me. I doubt restraining orders would work cuz he can change his appearance. Anyways, this had some really fun moments. There were some missed opportunities due to lack of background music and sound mixing in general. Like I said, it's a low budget webdrama so you can't expect much. Also, expect things to get cringey, but there is some fanservice. :)

9. Wiwa Fah Laep
Thai Drama - 2022, 17 episodes
Solid, entertaining contract marriage lakorn. They made sure to fully utilize Tono's talents. ? By which, I mean...showcase his athletic abilities (and build). The lead actress's acting seemed a bit weak compared to Tono's, but it was passable (Also, she's pretty and can get away with it). This lakorn was very entertaining when it came to the comedy. The action was also pretty good. The pacing was also surprisingly done well. However, it is still a lakorn so expect your standard villain tropes and crazy family. I fast forwarded though most of these scenes. Other than that, it was pretty fun.

10. San Hao Cha Sheng
Chinese Drama - 2022, 24 episodes
I can't say it's bad cuz I can't point out any major flaws, but it's not amazing either. The couple is cute. However, it wasn't all that memorable (except for the umbrellas). It had an annoying SML. I ended up skipping through all of the secondary couple scenes. They paired up the sweetest guy with this annoying brat who thought she was all that and a bag of chips. Then there was one of the FL's friends, who was just so confident in herself. She was the real MVP when it came to setting main couple up, but they made her the butt of the joke and I felt bad. It's an okay time pass watch.

11. Please Don't Meet the Man
Korean Drama - 2020, 10 episodes
Mainly checked it out cuz Jun was in it chasing after a cat for the first 2 episodes. The plot was dumb. I think I lost brain cells. It certainly wasn't worth the watch. However, the secondary couples were interesting (still dumb though). Also, I was not expecting to be graced with Jun in a shirtless fireman calendar photoshoot scene.

12. Love From Zero to One
Chinese Drama - 2022, 18 episodes
It's a multiple personality drama and I feel like this type of storyline is entertaining in general. Compared to other dramas with this trope, it's a bit lacking. It might be full of cliches and some things might not make sense, but it hits the spot. You might need to fast forward a bit in the last 1/3rd of the drama. I also loved it for the cat footage. There needed to be more of it tbh. FL's outfits were awesome, but due to limited budget she rewore the same 4-5 outfits throughout the drama.

Was lucky enough to catch this in theaters. I would give it a 9 for the cast alone. I'm just a sucker for found family storylines. I've seen this director's other work so I had a general idea of how the mood of this film was gonna be. It was still a great story nonetheless.

18. Cheer Up
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
I didn't like the whole villain storyline and the plot was nothing special, but I found it to be entertaining. The cheer performances were fun to watch and the music was pretty decent. Also, many scenes were hilarious. I thought the FL was an annoying bitch in the beginning, but she grew on me. I was totally in love with her after a few episodes. I loved her facial expressions. The lead actress nailed her role. FL's best friend was adorably lovable and I loved FL's family too. I didn't care much for ML. I had SLS all the way until the end and it hurt. I could see the red flag signs but I still wanted them to end up together dammit! Also, YDG being in this drama was amusing. It was a feel good drama despite all the drama. I'd say it was worth the watch in the end for the comedy. Don't expect it to be a well written drama though.

19. Penthouse
Korean Drama - 2020, 21 episodes
This was like Sky Castle on steroids without the amazing social commentary. Idk, I have mixed feelings. On one hand, it has 90% of the content I hate (bullying, yelling, cheating, psychos raising even more psychos). On the other hand, I do love myself a good revenge story. The revenge was entertaining, but the bad guys had the upper hand most of the time. Also, since it's multiple parts, I didn't get to see the revenge truly come into fruition...just a part of it. I fast forwarded through a lot of the yelling and bullying. I will continue because now I need to know the ending. Loved the cast and acting though.

20. The Penthouse Season 2
Korean Drama - 2021, 13 episodes
Finally, some justice served! Well this had a ton of crazy makjang twists. Some don't even make sense, but I'm just gonna roll with it. One thing I like about this series is that these rich people aren't so powerful that they have the cops in their pocket. It's nice to know that in this insane world of the greedy rich, the police are not corrupt.
-
21. The Penthouse Season 3
Korean Drama - 2021, 14 episodes
This was pretty much a soap opera with a very high budget and great cast. Even the cameos were great (but random). It was a makjang in its truest form. If you enjoyed this, you really should check out the daily airing makjangs more often cuz they are full of these crazy plot twists. This season was a bit repetitive. People were given multiple chances, yet still kept going back to their old ways. Glad to see a few characters achieve some character growth toward the end, but they were horrible for 80% of the drama. This series really should have ended at season 2. However, I enjoyed the prison scenes from the beginning of this season. Lots of plotholes in this series though.

22. Our Blues
Korean Drama - 2022, 20 episodes

23. Flight to You
Chinese Drama - 2022, 39 episodes
Just a very refreshing drama that takes place in the aviation industry starring two of my favorite actors (Wang Kai and Seven Tan). I loved the direction and music. It's a slow paced drama but it didn't feel like it dragged until after 25 episodes. The script was so purposeful...as in they didn't have much filler diaologue. I loved the FL and her witty comebacks. The only thing that felt forced was the communist propaganda (that writers have to add in) in which they made foreign pilots look bad or racist. They only have a soft spot for French characters (I guess china has a good relationship with France). When ML said "American aviation regulation is more lax than Chinese regulation" I nearly lost it. xD If you work in the industry, I'm sure some inaccurate stuff will annoy you. If you're blissfully ignorant, then I'm sure you'll enjoy it. As for the romance, I liked it, but ML sure takes his sweet time to even admit his feelings.

24. The Oath of Love
Chinese Drama - 2022, 32 episodes
I was on the viki subbing team for this so i already lowkey spoiled the series for myself back when it aired. It's a semi medical drama cuz ML is a doctor and I tend to find many faults with medical dramas. FL was semi annoying, especially in the beginning. They made her extra immature at times to emphasize the age difference between the characters. Her helicopter dad was just too much. Also there were some inconsistencies with the helicopter parenting. There'd be no way she would get away with going on a spontaneous vacation without the parents doing a background check on everyone she was going with beforehand. ML is adorably sweet (and scheming), but that's all that he's got going on for him. The supporting characters were mostly fillers. Don't get me wrong. The romance has some really cute and sweet moments, but most of this felt like it was recycled content.

25. Youngest Son of a Conglomerate
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
Man, you guys had me preparing for the worst ending. It honestly wasn't that bad. I love revenge dramas, especially when the main character plays the long game. Although this wasn't technically a revenge drama, it had a similar vibe. I didn't mind the ending because I predicted most of the last episode and was mentally prepared for it. The main cons I could think of are that the romance felt forced and the beginning was a bit slow/boring. Other than that, it was pretty entertaining to see ML manipulate those chaebol suckers. Your enjoyment of this drama will also vary depending on your knowledge of history from the 90s to 2000s. If you were there for these events it's like a nostalgic throwback.
Possibly an 8/10 for me. Will reevaluate after a few days.Truck ✔

26. The Wandering Earth
Chinese Movie - 2019
I think it was very impressive for China to make a sci-fi movie of this caliber. The graphics were excellent and cinematography was good. I just wasn't a fan of the storytelling. Also, all that money spent and they still dubbed it, which made me cry. The narrator and some other characters just spoke so monotone/robotic. It felt like there was no passion in their voice. I can't describe it.

28. She Who is Dangerous to Me
Chinese Drama - 2023, 24 episodes
6.5, but it was an addicting watch. It's pretty much a guilty pleasure makjang. I was hooked for the first 14 episodes, then the plot gets a bit dumb and draggy after that, but it was still worth the watch for me. ML is very pleasing to the eye and a good actor. FL's acting is weak, but you have to keep in mind she's playing a dual role. The villain was really lame. Contrary to the feed posts being shared on the feeds (of ML choking FL), ML is only toxic in the beginning of the drama. After that, he's pretty much tame. It hits the spot for cheap makjang.

29. Hatsukoi
Japanese Drama - 2022, 9 episodes
Slow-paced, but I'm glad I stuck around cuz the story got more interesting. It's sad and heartbreaking, but in a good way. I usually avoid these plots like a plague, but this wasn't too bad. Main couple is my OTP. Also, Sato Takeru is hella fine in this. Oh, and I appreciate the throwback songs. The drama was confusing initially because they jump back and forth between different timelines without some sort of filter to differentiate them. I eventually figured it out though. It also had a couple of loose ends with supporting cast. Overall, standard plot, but good delivery and big budget.

30. Cutie Pie
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
My inner 13 year old self found the premise amusing. I thought it was an enjoyable binge. Shout out to the sound effects team for making this drama hilarious and whoever did the sound mixing cuz the background music was spot on. The OST was also fantastic. There were a lot of steamy kisses (dare I say too much?). My favorite character was the religious buddhist guy.
The secondary couple almost ruined the series for me with their toxic relationship in the beginning. Poor baby was so desperate to please the guy. It was painful to watch. Thankfully things got better and they won me over eventually with a puppy. The plot is pretty standard when it comes to misunderstandings, but it's an entertaining watch.Suit ✔

31. Cutie Pie: Special Episode
Thai Special - 2023, 4 episodes
I've come to realize that I lack patience when it comes to crybabies. This was short. I didn't like it as much as s1. I would've liked more story and less making out. There was also less comedy. ;(
-
32. Alchemy of Souls: Part 2
Korean Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
Not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I can see why a lot of people would be upset with this season, but half of those reasons were why I liked this season. I think the main issue I had was the almost 3 month gap between seasons. I watched a recap of s1 and still forgot a lot of what happened, which led to some confusion. It had some flaws, but supernatural/fantasy is my favorite genre so I enjoyed it anyway.
+ Less episodic.
+ Good OST and bgm.
+ Change of actress. Although I loved Jung So Min, I was a bit annoyed when they swapped out first actress in s1. I was glad to see her back here for this season. Both actresses did a good job of consistently portraying the character.
+ The turtle and crown prince. Just some wholesomeness to the drama.
- The villain. I was so over him by the first half of this season. Why was this guy around for so long? -
33. Old Fashion Cupcake
Japanese Drama - 2022, 5 episodes
This was so slice of life that it nearly killed me, but I see the appeal. It had a lot of cute moments and food. 35. Under the Queen’s Umbrella
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
I kind of want to give this a 10/10 for Kim Hye Soo's stellar performance alone. She deserves all the awards. This was beautifully shot and a high production drama. There were a lot of moral lessons imbued into the story. FL is first a mom before she is queen. She was such a well written character. She is very relatable to a modern day mom despite being queen. Tbh, I would give this a 9/10, but it was exhausting to see those old croonies scheme and throw hissy fits demanding various people to be deposed. It was annoying and took up too much screentime. If there was less evil scheming that would've been nice. This reminded me of The Good Wife, but historical version.

36. Little Women
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
No. Not only was it painful to watch, the plot was dumb AF. I hated everyone, except maybe the middle sister (who unfortunately was played by an actress I'm not the biggest fan of). Sometimes her stubborness to do things the right way pissed me off, but I liked that she was smart. The oldest sister (main character) was technically smart when it came to numbers, but such an airhead. Youngest sister was such a brat. This was an expensively made makjang with a murder mystery twist, but it wasn't that good, especially when it came to the villain storyline. I wasn't even thinking about the Little Women novel while watching it. I watched it as its own thing. The only reason I didn't rate this lower is cuz I liked some of the aerial shots and cinematography. Conclusion: Give me my time back.

37. Big Dragon
Thai Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
It was a BL with a lot of ridiculous scenarios, heavy sexual objectification, but decent comedy. At times I couldn't tell if I found the comedy funny or the ridiculous scenarios. Sometimes it was so bad it was funny. If you do plan on watching it, I recommend watching it with the timed comments because they made the drama that much funnier. Sometimes the dialogue was just so cringe. In the second half the comedy dies down. It's just a lot of sex, misunderstanding, and crying. I fell asleep twice while watching. Anyways, it had a good opening theme song so there's that. Also, some shots are so beautiful and aesthetic. That's probably why I didn't lower my rating to 4 (bad).

38. Cherry Blossoms After Winter
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
I want to be more generous because it's a low budget web series, but it was boring AF. Also, the fact that they grew up together like brothers in the same household weirded me out. If this was a friendship story, I would've been more on board. Sorry, I don't ship it. I like the mom though.

39. Love is Forbidden Here

40. Yumi's Cell 2
Korean Drama - 2022, 14 episodes
Wow, this season was surprisingly just as strong as season 1, which is incredibly rare. It still had the same witty and entertaining writing. This world and build up is still amazing as ever and they even expanded it. I jumped onto team Babi this season. I know he's unrealistically perfect bf material. I'm actually giving this a slightly higher rating than s1, not because I thought the romance was better. FL went through a considerable amount of growth this season. I'm so proud of her. Also, although it was an emotional ride, my heart feels full. I don't know how else to explain it. It helped that there was a gap between s1 and s2. It also helped that I was mentally prepared for the ending. I pushed off finishing this season because I didn't want it to end. Such a great ost, enjoyable writing, and a wonderful world. Hope to see it again in s3 hopefully?

41. Jia You! Zhao Nuan Nuan
Chinese Drama - 2022, 24 episodes
I feel like this had potential, but they dropped the ball. It followed a cookie cutter formula for tropes such as human allergy and contract relationship. So in this aspect it was mediocre. However, I did enjoy the contract relationship part of the story. Unfortunately, the subs were terrible, so you really had to pay attention to enjoy things. At one point I stopped trying to correct the subs in my head and just pay attention original dialogue (with a basic understanding of Mandarin) instead. I didn't care much about the two other couples. FL's twin brother's story was okay. ML's relationship with his dad was absurdly ridiculous. The skinship/romance felt a bit forced at times. Anyway, my rating is what I *think* it would be had the subs been good. It's hard to tell. I can only speculate.

42. Nang Sao 18 Mongkut
Thai Drama - 2020, 18 episodes
If you're planning on watching this, do NOT read the synopsis cuz it gives away 90% of the plot. Just know that it's a gender bender. I thought the story was pretty average when it came to the villains. FL's parents are such losers. It doesn’t make sense that people would behave this way, but luckily they gain some morals and karma hits them like a bus. I'm giving this a boost because I did like the gender bender part of the story, especially lead actress's portrayal. Her acting as a guy was much more believable in her mannerisms. It wasn't totally obvious that she was a girl like in most gender benders.

43. Wu Ming
Chinese Movie - 2023
I wrote an official review for this, but there are certain things I left out because I feared rabid Wang Yibo fans will come after me. The flow of the story was a mess. It made it hard to follow. Add to that, the official English subs in the theater were also a bit too fast to read. On top of that, if you have no historical context of this era, you're kind of screwed.
I mainly checked it out for Tony Leung and Wang Yibo. Tony Leung was awesome playing this charming character. Wang Yibo (sorry fans) plays this grimy creep for most of this movie. His character is so dull in the first half and in the second half, his character (and acting) seems more interesting. The first half of this movie was boring and confusing to follow. I almost fell asleep in the theater. The second half and climax was a bit more interesting. It was ALMOST worth the watch if not for the confusing flow of the plot.Award Winning Actor ✔

44. Mei Gui Qi Shi
Chinese Drama - 2022, 23 episodes
The first half was surprisingly entertaining. I personally loved how the FL was simple minded. A lot of people thought she was naïve, but I wouldn't consider her doormat naïve either. She was actually very smart when it came to solving cases. I liked how she wasn't calculating when it came to judging people and chose to believe the best in others. However, she knew how to protect herself and caught on quick if people were trying to deceive her.
Aside from the romance, there are some cute side stories. I absolutely loved FL making her first female friend. I never understood why girls like to go to the bathroom together either, but I'm glad she found a bathroom buddy. xD I love her secretary friend. Also there was the subplot of ML and his senior sister. :P I didn't care much about 2nd and 3rd couples. The 2nd half was a bit draggy, but overall it was light, cute, and worth the watch for me.Soldier ✔

45. Golden Spirit: Joseon Marriage Prohibition
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
Honestly, I loved it. I was not expecting it to be so hilarious. I thought it was going a lot sadder, but it starts off surprisingly hilarious and maintains a decent level of comedy throughout. I loved all of the pop culture references and I LOVED the music. As for YDG, I love him, but his interpretation of an evil minister was odd. The way he talks is funny and cartoonish. After a while, I found it refreshing and very appropriate for this comedy. I also loved the cheerful and mischievous FL. As for the second lead, I had major SLS. He and FL were very compatible. My heart ached for him. The ML (king) is a likable guy too in a comedic kind of way. He grew on me. I was very happy with the outcome of the triangles and relationships. For a historical, it's a cute and not too heavy watch. I could also give it an 8.

Low budget, but it was a very bingeable watch. I enjoyed the comedy. There's also a bit of toilet humor (fart jokes) and slapstick comedy going on. It's silly, but I found the drama very amusing. I loved both leads. I was not expecting it to be this funny. There's also a cute found family plot going on. It gets a bit slower in 2nd half, but I found the pacing decent compared to other dramas. If you like gender benders, this one is definitely worth checking out.

The story had the potential to be more if they wrote it as a comedy instead of a melodrama. It has some romcom element to it, but it's like the outdated kind from 2000s lakorns. ML is just dumb and mean. There was no need to make him so toxic. FL's sister was a brat. I had to fast forward through most of her scenes. SML is hot and decent guy, but they paired him up with the sister. The villain storyline is super predictable.

48. Chi Dao
Chinese Drama - 2022, 26 episodes
I was going to skip cuz I'm not a fan of noonamances or coach/athlete romance, but decided to give it a shot anyway and was pleasantly surprised. It's a proper sports drama, despite mainly being a romance. It has a good balance of sports and romance and doesn't really have any annoying sports drama cliches. It has the Wang An Yu affect. :P I usually like his roles. He has the ability to make charming look effortless. He's a natural at it. The FL is very refreshing, especially for a drama with a college backdrop. Is that her real voice? Cuz I love it! I also loved the senior sister from the shotput team. She had a soothing voice and was such a sweetheart. ❤ Some of the side storylines were amusing. It had a slow start. It's not a fast paced drama, but it's not too slow paced either. Oh, and the romance was great. I'd say the plot is a 7.5 for me. However, this drama feels like a hidden gem. Some scenes were very aesthetic and the music is going to be stuck in my head for a while. If you don't like sports dramas, you might not like it as much, though the romance is still pretty enjoyable.

49. Eosajoidyeon
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
I did not have much expectation for this drama. Just like I expected, it was an okay time pass drama. It is just not that memorable. I mainly really enjoyed this for the cast. There were a lot of familiar faces that I loved. The goofy comedy was amusing too. I really loved one of the villains. He was so smart. It's a pity about the life he lived. He could have used his intelligence for good. One of the plot twists toward the end threw me for a surprise. It's a simple sageuk, but it throws a few good curveballs when it comes to the comedy and plot twists.

50. Momoiro Anzuiro Sakuro
Japanese Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
Honestly, I look forward to when Viki uploads a new cringey jdrama romance. It's a fun game of "How bad will it be??" This has an ML with red flags and an FL with 0 self confidence in the romance department. She let's the ML take advantage of her. It's got a whole lot of bed scenes since it's based off a smut manga. My rating is based off of smut drama standards...pretty mediocre.

51. Unlock the Boss
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
It had a unique plot, but for the most part I found it boring. My favorite part would probably be the little girl + Ma Pi (Kim Sung Oh) bonding. I feel like Kim Sung Oh's talent was a bit wasted here, but I enjoyed seeing him on screen.

52. Brain Collaboration
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
This is one of those dramas you have on in the background. The cases weren't all that interesting, except maybe a few. The drama had a unique concept with cases revolving around the brain, but it went from nuerology to psychiatry to psychology. I kind of wished they stuck with the nuerology angle. Although I'm sure they represented some things inaccurately, I learned some interesting things about the brain. People really hyped up the bromance, but the friendship doesn't take off until episode 10, which is a long time to wait around for. The ending with the villain was super lame. Bonus: ML2 has a lab rat (his only friend) named Algernon. :)

53. One Shot Scandal
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
It was just an enjoyable romcom with an older couple (which is so rare these days). ML is played by one of my favorite actors. ♥ It just has that feel good romcom warmth, yet also covers some serious issues. In a way it reminded me of Sky Castle, but without the intense melodrama. They did the FL dirty when it came to fashion. Just cuz she is a mom doesn't mean she had to dress like an unfashionable ahjumma. I was low key getting stressed seeing FL dressed in those ugly sweaters that were tucked into those mom jeans. >_< Anyways, this drama had a little bit of everything. It just hits the spot if you like this romcom thriller genre. Last episode was kind of slow as they were winding down the story, but I'd say that's normal. It has some flaws so I won't say it's amazing. Overall, it's light and solid entertainment.

54. An Inconvenient Love
Filipino Movie - 2022
It can be a bit cheesy at times (to the point I got goosebumps), but these two were sooo cute together. The movie falls under the realm of teen romance even though they're probably around 20. It's also a contract relationship storyline (real relationship, but with a deadline). I totally loved it. The main thing I disliked was that both had parents that were annoying and over the top. Other than that this had a great ost and was fluffy af. Would totally recommend to contract relationship lovers.

55. Double World
Chinese Movie - 2020
It had a cast with some notable people in it that made me squeal when I saw them on screen. Some of the action was also exciting. I could've cared less for the story though and it didn't help that everything felt rushed. It had the potential to be good, but other than the cast and some cool action scenes, this movie is mostly forgettable.

56. A Beautiful Life
Chinese Movie - 2011
I would've rated this higher, but I hated FL for most of the movie. I could not stand how selfish she was and how she would take advantage of ML, who was a genuine good guy. The poor guy deserved better, but at least FL changed for the better. The plot is 7/10 for me.

Interesting film that managed to pull me in. I had to google a lot of stuff cuz I'm not too familiar with the history of the Philippines. Anyways, it's not a super gory film, but you probably shouldn't watch this while eating.

59. Please Be Married
Chinese Drama - 2021, 30 episodes
The things I watch cuz I'm a sucker for matchmaker kids. xD This is one of those made for Douyin low budget mini dramas. Expect bad acting and super scripted (unnatural) dialogue. That being said, if you watch the combined episode version, it isn't that bad. It was a little bit choppy but bingeable. I was just mainly upset about the abrupt cliffhanger ending.
-
60. Please Be Married 2
Chinese Drama - 2021, 30 episodes
This season was technically better quality than the first, but it felt much more draggy. They introduced an evil MIL and an annoying SFL that couldn't take no for an answer. Also all the sabatoging started to feel repetitive. I had to fast forward through most of it. I appreciate how they tied the ending back to the beginning though.

Chinese Drama - 2022, 14 episodes
Low budget parent trap with cute kids. This is a total guilty pleasure. It can be dumb at times, but I totally loved it. It's probably one of the better low budget mini dramas I've seen. Probably a 6/10 in actuality. Nice and short watch. Turn your brain off and enjoy the show. I have no doubt the manhua is better, but this was enjoyable too.

62. Love Starts With Marriage
Chinese Drama - 2022, 24 episodes
Low budget, cliche, bad. I didn't get why ML fell in love with FL. I didn't really feel the chemistry either. Lead actor was miscast. He looks like a 17 year old pretending to be a working adult. A lot of things with the plot/script did not make sense.
-
63. Secretary Bai Wants to Resign Everyday
Chinese Drama - 2022, 21 episodes
Slightly repetitive. It got better once the time loop was slightly altered (you'll know when). Otherwise I was tired of seeing ML "torture" his secretary every loop. If I hear that ringtone again I'm going to scream.
-
64. Hi Venus
Chinese Drama - 2022, 24 episodes
Probably a 7.5. This was a stress free drama. You have to get passed the first two episodes first. FL has some communication issues and there is a misunderstanding trope. After that, it's pure enjoyment. ML takes his cheeky revenge and enjoys teasing FL (but that's his playful personality in general). Don't worry, FL knows how to prank ML too.
+These two are platonic friends for the first half.
+Fake dating trope!
+Witty writing that unfortunately didn't come across as well.
+No annoying disaproving parents.
+No clingy exes.
+No love triangle.
+The secondary couple is cute.
-Last few episodes are a bit draggy.
-What was up with that 2nd antagonist storyline? I was expecting him to get arrested/punished, but they kind of just verbally just said what happened/will happen to him and wrote him off the show. I was baffled.Fluffy ✔

65. Yan Gui Xi Chuang Yue
Chinese Drama - 2021, 32 episodes
Well this felt like complete whiplash compared to my last drama (Hi Venus) even though it starred the same leads. Set in ancient China, it's got your fair share of sexism and double standards. This drama was okay for the first 16 episodes (literally the first half) and then I was just over it. I didn't care anymore. It just got draggy, repetitive, with dumb storylines...all that really did not make this drama enjoyable. Not to mention that controversial ML was pretty toxic from the start. He was hot one minute and cold the next. He would get angry and scream over multiple misunderstandings then beg forgiveness. He said/did some low possesive shit, which was considered normal for that time, so I don't hold it against him. I don't even mind hot + cold leads, but this was just too repetitive and dumb. To make matters worse at some point I began to get sick of hearing FL's voice...though that's probably my fault for watching 2 of her dramas back to back...but also I'm pretty sure she was lowkey doing baby voice at times.

66. Shi Guang Yu Ta, Qia Shi Zheng Hao
Chinese Drama - 2022, 25 episodes
A decent fluffy school youth to adulthood drama. It may follow the typical formula, but adds some new things to the genre. The beginning was a little bit concerning due to FL's stalkerish motive, but then it was enjoyable once things cleared up. As I already said, I loved ML's voice. The friend gang was cliche but cute. I just got really tired of secondary couple's on again and off again relationship. They broke up like 4 times too many for me. I found the second half pretty draggy and had to fast forward through a lot. However, the second half has more scenes as a couple so it almost cancels out the draggyness. I usually like college scenes better when it comes to school/youth dramas (that's when the romance takes off), but for this I liked the high school scenes better.

67. The High Priest Rembrary
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
Man, I really wanted to rate this higher cuz it started off great. This was your typical fish out of water story with the added twist of also being an idol drama. ML is a high priest who is forced to come to our world and take on the entertainment industry as an idol. It's just a silly and fun concept. The drama focused on two things: the visuals and the music. In this case, the drama understood the assignment. ML constantly searches for "tribute", which made the character relatable and the drama amusing. ML might have come across as silly, but I appreciated his conviction to not give up his values, especially to confirm to the entertainment industry. Where this drama fell flat for me was the entire devil storyline and most of the supernatural stuff. Not only did it fall flat for me, it ruined the drama. They had a good concept in which they tried to show people selling their souls out of desperation. However, the execution was very poor. Mr. Devil was a miscast for me. If they were going with the visual concept, this guy didn't fit the bill (nothing against the actor). Mr. Reaper was spot on though.
In short, they should have just stuck to the idol's journey storyline. I wish there had been more music performances. If you're planning to watch, maybe watch the first 8 episodes and then drop? It was a good time pass drama until it wasn't.
P.S. People in the comments kept calling ML Blueberry and I was absolutely here for it.Celestial Body ✔

68. A Love Journal

Low budget contract marriage minidrama. The most cringe part was the dubbing. Other than that, it's an okay time pass drama if you like contract marriage plots. It has some loose ends that they never addressed, but let's face it...most people are going to watch for the romance so it doesn't matter.

70. Lethal Perfume
Chinese Drama - 2022, 30 episodes
Had potential for a revenge melodrama, but fell flat. Didn't feel the chemistry between two leads. ML might have been a miscast. ML's mom was so wtf and FL's psycho dad was something else. The fact that the two leads were both using each other was entertaining. The whole colorblind storyline made no sense though.

The fun title caught my attention. It was an okay docuseries. I have to give it an 8/10 for the food porn and cinematography and a 6/10 for the storytelling. I wasn't a fan of the narrator and the Netflix subs were way too fast at times. I learned a lot about some cool ingredients that I will probably never cook with in my life.
Episode 4 made me lose my appetite due to the intestines and sandworms that they showed. Episode 5 was my favorite, super relaxing and they showed you how to make different types of rice noodles.Documentary ✔

73. MBTI Inside
Korean TV Show - 2021, 6 episodes
This was a fascinating and wholesome social experiment. I kept paying attention to my personality type (old vs. current) and the similarities we have. I also found some things relatable with people that were off by one letter. Even if you don't believe in MBTI cuz it's very general, I found it very useful when interacting with people (for work). It helps give you an idea of how people like to approach tasks and how they like to be approached in general (communication style). I was thinking of giving this a 7.5, but the last 2.5 episodes were a bit draggy cuz they did a lot of talking.

75. Love at Second Sight
Chinese Drama - 2023, 24 episodes
I'm stuck down the youtube rabbit hole watching crappy low budget chinese minidramas. I had low expectations for this one, but it surprised me. Main couple actually has decent chemistry...also the angst is pretty good. It's good for melodrama standards. The main con is that ML is a bit of a manhandler (the wrist grabbing type). Also, the ending felt kind of rushed...or maybe they left some things open for a season 2.
TLDR; if you like melodramas, this minidrama is better quality than the others in this makjang minidrama category. -
76. Jiu Xiao Han Ye Nuan
Chinese Drama - 2023, 36 episodes
Idk, I'm probably being generous, but it's been a while since one of these "wuxias" pulled me in. I loved the action. The mysteries pulled me in. I loved the godfather/goddaughter duo. I loved the dynamics between FL and ML. However, it got a bit slow for me after 20 episodes, but the story was still interesting. They introduced this annoying airhead spoiled princess and killed off one of my favorite characters. I had to fast forward a bit. Also the ending was a bit rushed and confusing. I still really enjoyed it though. Maybe 7.5 realistically. However, it's got some decent twists. It is not as predictable as you think.

77. I Don't Want To Do Anything
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
Not exactly my cup of tea. This was one of those slow placed healing slice of life dramas (that turned into thriller). The first episode was depressing, but luckily it gets better after that. I couldn't stand how much of a doormat FL was for a good portion of this drama. Eventually the small town residents won me over. It's something I probably could've skipped, but if you're a fan of the cute and good natured ML, maybe it's worth checking out.

Your typical cringey jromance aimed at female teenagers. I was clearly not the intended audience although I'm pretty sure I read the manga way back. A lot of this felt like deja vu. 80. Shao Nian Ge Xing
Chinese Drama - 2022, 40 episodes
Loved it. The first and second halfs are like two different genres so that's something to keep in mind. The first half is like action/adventure/comedy and more of a xuanhuan. The second half is more scheming and like a political game of chess. I can't say it's worse, but it might not be your cup of tea. I personally liked the first half better. Despite the drama having flaws, I really enjoyed it. It put me on an emotional roller coaster. Let's just say the plot armor is real thin.
+Monk boy and puppy dog were my favorite characters. Too bad monk boy didn't appear on screen all that often. There's a nice mix of humor mixed in throughout the drama making it extra entertaining. The cast technically did a great job with their roles. They might not have been cast age appropriately for their roles, but they did an excellent job of acting it out. A lot of people were giving FL flack because their was no chemistry. I think she did a decent job. First of all this drama is not a Romance to begin with. They are supposed to be teenagers. For most of this drama they are friends. I guess the main issue I had was voice actor gave her a very youthful/childlike voice in the beginning, which made her seem incompatible with the very mature ML. She does mature throughout this drama, but unfortunately your first impression has been set.The CGI is not bad, but I saw potential for better. However, I realize a story of this caliber requires a lot of CGI. They were forced to focus on quantity over quality. The Music / Sound Mixing was mostly a miss for me. The music improved later on. Same with the dubbing.
+ "I held you in my arms when you were a baby." XD It was probably said at least 3 times. Puppy dog must been adorable as an infant and got past around a lot.
The ending was partly predicable yet still felt epic when you watched it play out. Other things felt rushed and got confusing. Black Turtle was one of them.✔

Your typical mini drama, but it might be slightly better quality than the low budget stuff. The storyline is nothing new for a romantic comedy historical. It's a decent time pass drama if you're absolutely bored.

83. Bossam-Stealing Destiny
Korean Drama - 2021, 20 episodes
The storyline is interesting cuz I don't think the concept of Bossam is covered much in k-historicals. I would say the palace politics is standard, but it doesn't have any scheming concubines trying to get their son on the throne. I found that super refreshing. The second half can feel a bit long so I had to FF quite a bit. Some annoying characters should've been given less screentime. The soundtrack was surprisingly awesome. Overall, it reminded me of the old school k-historicals from the 2000s or 2010s. It felt a bit nostalgic. This was solid entertainment.

Taiwanese Drama - 2022, 26 episodes
I watched this over a span of 4 months so I forgot a lot about I was going to say. It's a decent drama and hits the spot if you're looking for a Taiwanese drama fix. It's pretty much a law procedural with no romance (but people sure ship them together). I enjoyed seeing Chen Bolin in this. He plays a goofy character, which is a bit different from his usual roles. Puff Kuo plays the typical stubborn FL who fights for justice. Nothing against curly hair, but her hairstyle in this was just not working for her (i think they were going for the ugly/plain girl look...idk some of her outfits were cute though). This drama had a very adorable kid in it, which is always a plus. The comedy can be cheesy, but overall I found it funny and entertaining. I'm pretty sure some of the cases had some unrealistic stuff going on. The soundtrack is actually pretty good. :) The Enlish dub is also good (for those who can't watch things with subs). It does start feeling a bit stretched in the second half. I'd recommend fast forwarding at some point otherwise you'll probably end up putting it on hold and forgetting about it. D:

Once these two team up, they make a great team. I wouldn't say watch this drama for the romance, but I shipped them hard. It didn't even feel like this drama was a noonamance. It's a bit low budget, but I found this drama to be a refreshing and stress-free watch. It's pretty much my cup of tea. You've got gaming/virtual reality, marriage of convenience (in game), and body swapping (ML and FL share a body at one point). The lead actress plays a dual role and does a pretty solid job. I also liked FL's creative and fun hairstyles. Her in-game makeup was a bit of a miss in the beginning, but thank god they ditched that look. The plot gets a bit slow toward the end (as expected), but it is not nearly as bad as other dramas. If you're looking for something different it's worth checking out. The poster does not do this drama justice.

I have 59 MDL friends who have completed this drama. XD Didn't realize it was that popular. Main character dances pretty beautifully. The acting can be a cringe at times. It was also a bit slow paced for a simple story. Clearly the focus of the story is on the BL development and not too much the dancing and non love story. Some parts had me tempted to bump this up to a 7. I guess this lands under BL fluff.

96. Hua Jiang Hu Zhi Huan Shi Men Sheng
Chinese Drama - 2023, 24 episodes
I mainly watched this for two reasons: two beautiful people (Qin Xiao Xuan and Li Shu Ting) who play siblings in this drama and the fact that the main character walks around with a sword like Cloud Strife. The story had potential. Ultimately, the second half got really draggy and repetitive. The plot was unnecessarily complicated with the multiple parties and feuds going on. I mentally checked out. The unfinished cliffhanger ending did not help either, although it did peak my interest. If there is a sequel, I will not be watching. I hope pretty boy and pretty girl star in something better.

97. The Captive
Chinese Drama - 2023, 25 episodes
I'm a sucker for a good revenge story and good cinematography. This minidrama surprisingly had both. The first episode had phenomenal cinematography. Unfortunately, the rest of the episodes were not quite on the same level as the first, but still very good overall (especially for low budget minidrama standards). In short, someone finally hired a passionate director who takes their work seriously. The funny thing is I was thinking "I haven't seen a minidrama with such good direction since A Familiar Stranger." Turns out that this director directed that too. XD I loved how FL got revenge by slowly driving people insane. The last few episodes felt rushed and half assed. They could have eliminated "mastermind" in a more poetic way.

99. Mad Doctor
Taiwanese Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
The main story arch is a medical drama cliche involving a super talented doctor that ends up working at a small town hospital. On the bright side there's no evil hospital administration (albeit maybe a misguided one). The comedy is pretty quirky and creative. There's this one character whose face you never get to see throughout the drama. There's a lot of "gross" medical humor too (similar to toilet humor I guess, but not that bad). I found the FL to be pretty unlikable. However, I appreciate her love of food. I just wish she didn't steal it without remorse! The second half can get a bit draggy, but I'm glad I stuck around to see FL's backstory. Also, I appreciated the fanservice 100%. Don't expect an accurate medical drama. Doctors were drinking alcohol and showing up to work during an emergency.

100. Legend of Lu Zhen
Chinese Drama - 2013, 59 episodes
It's hard to rate older dramas. This one aired 10 years ago and was probably filmed many years before that. The quality is what you would call "old school" and you might get a few good laughs out of it. If you like the old school palace dramas, this one is worth checking out. It might have many of the usual palace drama tropes, but for some reason I was hooked. There were also plenty of ridiculous and unpredictable things too. xD The 59 episode count might seem daunting, but this drama was surprisingly fast paced. I generally love storylines where characters level up. This is one of them. It was enjoyable to see this intelligent and strong FL rise through the ranks. ML's charming smile didn't hurt to look at either. :P
