what can i say about this series? ahhhh what an experience. non was such a force that i couldn't help but root for her the whole time! even the side character (yui) made me so invested in her growth! and the mom's backstory... my heart broke for her </3

ngl i wasn't a fan of the first half of the story, but when it shifted to the idol direction, it somehow got so much better! i don’t know how they managed to make the ama part boring. it’s definitely the cooler profession to build a story around… but i was so invested in the hardships aki faced in tokyo that i almost forgot the title of this drama was amachan for a moment.

this asadora makes me so mad!! it was so good during the pilot training arc and even through the lehman brothers collapse incident. it could’ve been a NINE for me but no they had to make the last arc so boring. i feel so frustrated for mai. i hate that she had to give up on her dream to work at her family’s company. i get that dreams change and life happens, and her life SUCKED at the time, but the way they wrote that last arc was just so offputting. it kinda came across as her giving up on her dreams at times... sigh. but even with its flop moments, it was still a well made asadora so i can’t go lower than a 7. but honestly, mai, you deserved so much better. :(((((

the budget for this was insane!!! very well written and filmed. although i wish the second half focused more on antarctica (rarely explored in jdramas) rather than the dogs (overused in jdramas) but it was emotional nonetheless.

liked the first two eps but the other 2 were really boring. the show as a whole was visually stunning although i did feel like they went overboard on the special effects at times.

i love how plotty showa asadoras are <333 the story progressed nicely  until jun chan and hayami san got married. after that point it just lost its charm :'( but oh well it still worked as a whole so i didn't mind it too much. the boring parts were still better than the boring parts of other asadoras

they had all the right ingredients to give us a FEAST but they fucked it up so bad.. where is the world building??? why should i care about a random pastor yapping? you can't just set the class president up for him to turn out to be such a lame villain?? did the detective serve any purpose?? did the siblings' fight even matter?? sigh... wasted potential
