Best Character/Drama Theme Songs

"I Presumed" (我以為) by Victor Wong as Tuo Ye's Song 

This song will always have a special place in my heart.  Even when I saw Autumn's Concerto back in 2009 and my Chinese wasn't as good, I learned how to sing the lyrics and somehow still understood what they meant. Every time I heard it, I just remember everything that Tuo Ye has done for Mu Cheng. It's been a while since I've listened to the song but I still remember it clearly. His face and what he said  in that scene on the bridge....I felt so sad for him Dude, ouch. TUO YE!!!!!!

"Unrestrained" (无羁) by Xiao Zhan and Wang Yi Bo as Wei Ying and Lan Zhan's Song 

I love how in the story Lan Zhan writes a song specially for Wei Ying and called it WangXian. 

"Song Ends with Chen Qing" (曲尽陈情) by Xiao Zhan as Wei Ying's Song 

This song is upbeat just like Wei Ying's personality but the things that he went through is just too sad. Getting misunderstood by everyone in the world. 

"Won't Forget" (不忘) by Wang Yi Bo as Lan Zhan's Song 

In this song, you know it was written about Lan Zhan. I can sense the love and longing he has for Wei Ying even after he died. After 16 years, he still was looking for him, waiting for him, taking care of the rabbits that Wei Ying got him and Ah-Yuan, Even his courtesy name shows Lan Zhan's longing for Wei Ying. He never forgot about Wei Ying at all not for a second. 

"Whispers of the Wood" (疏林如有诉) by Gao Qiu Zi as Wen Ning's Song 

Wen Qing bares the last name of clan that everyone detests but she herself is a good person. All she wants to do is take care of her family, that's all. 

Bonus Track: "WangXian"(忘羡) by Wu En and Yu Xia (from Audio Drama)  

After listening to the lyrics of these three songs, a couple times I realized the songs revolve around the love letters and the song lyrics start out similar but get slightly different to reflect the characters. 

"Love Frost" (情霜) by Yang Zi  as Jin Mi's Song 

In this song, Jin Mi feels like she is waiting for Xu Feng with the love letters (pretty much through all "three lives"). 

"Unparalleled in the World" (天地无霜) by Deng Lun (Solo) as Xu Feng's Song 

This song, It feels like now Xu Feng have found the love letter and now it's his turn to wait for Jin Mi while leaving love letter wherever they fell in love after he found out the truth about everything. 

"Unparalleled in the World" (天地无霜) by Deng Lun and Yang Zi as Jin Mi and Xu Feng's Song

In this song, it feels like they are looking for each other and the lyrics are sung in a way where Jin Mi and Xu Feng singing a duet with their sides of the story. And in all three songs, Wind separates them, Moonlight (Moon Immortal) connects them, they are leaving love letters and red lotuses everywhere, they fell in love.

"Sigh" (叹云兮) by Ju Jing Yi as Han Yun Xi's Song 

This is almost like a love song or final message for Long Fei Ye almost. 

"No Extravagance" (无华) by Jane Zhang and Liu Yu Ning as Zhou Fei and Xie Yun's Song 

I haven't finished the drama at the time that I was writing this but I can tell that this song is Zhou Fei and Xie Yun's theme song. One of the lyrics were saying that the sword Xie Yun owes Zhou Fei wasn't given to her yet. I  feel like there are two songs about them. This song feels like how do I say it, the feelings that they put into their promises to each other, the longing for each other, the determination to protect the other, to see each other again, and their yearning for each other. 

"Ying Huo" (萤火) by He Hong Shan and Xu Zheng Xi as Ye Ning Zhi and Wei Guang's Song 

"Hong Chen Xiang Kan" (红尘相看) by Li Qi as Wei Guang's Song

"Yi Nian Zhi Chi" (一念咫尺) by Dong Shi Yun as Ye Ning Zhi's Song

"Falling Flowers" (落花) by Ma Tian Yu as Wang Yuan Fang's Song 

"Missing the Beauty" (念紅顔) by Qiu Shuang & Sun Xiaoxiao as Cast Theme Song

"Lost Lover" (遺失的愛人) by Lex as Poseidon's Song 

I feel like this song describes Poseidon's longing for Amphitrite really well. I am a fan of Greek Mythology but I didn't know about this story or the fact that Poseidon had a wife. 

"Thread " (线) by Liu Xijun as Zhang Guo Guo and Li Yun Kai's Song

This song describes Zhang Guo Guo and Li Yun Kai perfectly. They were childhood friends that were separated so they had to change to protect themselves but when they found each other again, they were becoming like themselves again. They were growing together and changing together. 

"Cannot Say" (不可说) by Wallace Huo and Zhao Li Ying as Bai Zhi Hua and Hua Qian Gu's Song

I feel like this song is really well written. The lines that Wallace sang and the ones that Zhao Li Ying sang were so reflective of what was happening with their characters. They both were falling in love with each other but they cannot say. While one was changing and becoming "themselves", while the other was losing themselves.

"Perfect Couple" (金玉良緣) by Li Qi as Yu Qi Ling and Jin Yuan Bao's Song

I really like this ending song!!! It really fits the title of the drama and the lyrics makes it feel that a couple will do anything in order to be together and that is the feeling that I get from this drama. This song describes Yu Qi Ling and Jin Yuan Bao's love story pretty well. 

"I'm Sorry" (對不起) by Yuan Ye as Qian Bao Bao, Xiang Hao and Shen Wen Tao's Song 

I feel like this song describes Qian Bao Bao and Xiang Hao's love story but also Shen Wen Tao's theme song. In Shen Wen Tao's case, I feel like the song means I'm sorry I couldn't stay your side probably to Qian Bao Bao and Xiang Hao. 

"Love Like Cherry Blossoms" (爱如樱) by Huang Yuxun/Ma Tian Yu as Ying Kong Shi's Song

This song is totally Ying Kong Shi's theme song since everything that he did in the story was for his brother's wish. I especially like the version that Ma Tian Yu sang. 

"I Won't Let Go" (我不放手) by Yu Ziqin as Yan Da's Song

I can totally sense Yan Da's feelings in this song. Everything she does is for Ying Kong Shi. 

"Death of the Premature Lotus" (莲殇) by Kelly Yu as Lian Ji's Song 

(问道) by Yan Yi Dan and He Hui Hui as Zhang Ling and Donghuang Fei Fei's Song
