My Completed Asian Dramas/Variety (Ranked Highest to Lowest)

I rarely give 10 but this drama deserves it. I loved every aspect of this drama. The story of desertion, mistreatment and the broken military system was well conceived and portrayed on screen. The performances were fucking amazing, Jung Hae In, Koo Kyo Hwan and Jo Hyun Chul were just standouts. The OST and intro was also so good, the cinematography was simple showcasing the grim atmosphere.

A perfectly executed romantic comedy with brilliant acting and chemistry between Kim Seon-ho and Shin Min-ah. They turned a rather simple story into something engaging, thought provoking and magical. The supporting cast, cinematography and OST was just perfection. I highly recommend this, if you need a Slice-Of-Life Korean Drama. 

My all time favorite Sageuk drama. The interesting story lures you in every episode and because of IU, Lee Joon Gi & Kang Han Neul this show became my favorite. The OST perfectly fits the drama. This drama was so tragic and sad so prepare tissues. The only problem I have is that Hae Soo (FL), Wang So (ML) & Wang Wook (SML) became really unlikable in the second half of the series.

Japan makes great LGBTQ+ dramas. This series is short yet so impactful maybe because of the realistic story and characters. An all around brilliant BL  short drama.

A fantastic coming-of-age LGBTQ+ series. Beautifully depicted by it's fantastic use of scenery of Phuket, picturesque cinematography, top notch acting and chemistry from Billkin and PP and a cohesive emotional story. 

Gritty, nerve wrecking and an all around intense ride. With top notch acting, story, atmosphere and emotional impact. This show is a must watch.

A nostalgic ride full of laughter, thoughtful messages and sad moments. You grow attach to all the characters in this series which is why this series is special.

Probably one of the best South Korean BL. The chemistry between the two leads was so good. This is an example of turning a simple story into a great show filled with romantic moments.

Probably one of my favorite Japanese BL. The dynamic between the two leads is unique and different which made the story more engaging. The only complaint I have is IT'S SO SHORT, well us gays already got used to short episodes and runtime.

An enjoyable, funny and heartwarming second season of a great show. Packed with great storylines, cute moments and a likable main character, this show surely can make you smile.

This drama gave me so many emotions but the second half was quite disappointing and you might get Second Male Lead syndrome here. I rated this 9 because I always rewatch this. The beautiful cinematography, OST, the concept and the acting of Bae Suzy, Nam Joo Hyuk, Kim Seonho & Kang Han Na made this drama great.

A perfect exploration of how depraved humanity is. An almost perfect chilling story filled with grit and creepiness surrounding cults. Flawless performances from Seo Yeaji, Woo Do Hwan, Jae Yoon Jo, Jung Hae Gyoon, Yoon Yoo Sun, Park Ji Young & Jo Sung Ha.

This was so cute. It's nothing new but the two main leads just had great chemistry. Naoya is probably my favorite BL character, he is there to love and care for Kota which was so cute. The plot is simple and easy to follow. So if you're looking for a BL with a cute simple plot, then this is it.

A great Korean BL. Indie-esque beautiful cinematography, simplistic yet impactful story and great chemistry between the two main leads. 

A great Japanese BL. The chemistry between the two leads is so wholesome and Aoki is probably my favorite comfort character in any drama, such a bundle of joy.

The drama had ups and downs with a poorly written second half, but it had a promising script, a talented cast and beautiful cinematography to make up for it's flaws.

Really great chemistry between the leads, a touching story and SML Syndrome. It got quite boring and sad at the second half but still good.

Short but it's so hilarious. Loved that it makes fun of the tropes in BL and the side couples are hilarious aswell. Hoping for S2.

A drama filled with thoughtful messages and it raised awareness about a variety of topics. Kim Hee Sun & Lee Soo Hyuk were the standouts. The last half was quite boring but it was still good.

This drama was great in episodes 1-13. Le Je Hoon was so great, and the whole story was well conceived. The last three episodes were confusing and boring but the drama is still good.

Best installment in the history series. Great chemistry and a well thought out story.

A fulfilling, silly and cute rom com. The two main couples have great chemistry but the drama became a little boring in the last few episodes but Ahn Hyo Seop is so charming here.

A good LGBTQ+ drama. It doesn't get lost in it's comedic elements but it has substance that all LGBTQ+ people can relate. Natty supremacy though <3

Gripping story about survival that can make the viewers engaged and emotional with every scene that comes up. But some death games in this drama are boring.

Probably one of the most unique school drama in Korea. With great characters and amazing visuals, it made a great watch. Though, some parts were confusing.

The chemistry between the two leads were great, it has a lot of likable characters and the story is well conceived but the last half became a little boring but overall a solid drama.

If you like Makjang and a complicated plot with stellar acting from the cast , then this one is for you. This is the only Penthouse season that is genuinely good.

A great historical drama with a standout performance by Shin Hye Sun. The plot is unique and has a lot of great comedic moments. Some parts were boring especially the political part and the ending was quite disappointing but the banters of the two leads made up for it's flaws.

I've been waiting for a wholesome school themed BL drama and this one was just perfect for that. The colorful visuals and the chemistry was so good.

A good Japanese BL to start with. The chemistry between the two leads helps this drama alot and the fantasy element aswell. Not the best but surely enjoyable.

Out of all the History stories, this is my favorite. I am not into sport dramas but this one is an exception. The OST, the characters and the development of the story is so good. It made my heart flutter and the ending was satisfying.

It was a good sequel but doesn't beat the original in terms of storytelling but the substance is still there. 

One of the best Thai BLs production and acting wise. The story is good but quite inconsistent but it made up for it's interesting characters. Bible as Vegas was just a standout. 

A cute colorful BL drama with interesting characters but it was rather too simple I just needed more from the storyline but it was still good.

A fun slice of life story with likable leads and a great atmosphere but it got draggy near the end.

The story is nothing new but the chemistry of the main leads and how the story unfolded is so heartwarming. 

The first one is better but the sequel is also good and it successfully showed how the characters evolved through the years.

If you are into heavy emotional melodramas and you love when Park Bogum shows his smile then you will definitely like this. Song Hye Kyo as Cha Soo Hyun, was an immediate standout and a great female lead. The stunning cinematography topped with great side characters and plentiful meaningful messages of love and freedom made this drama worthwhile.

The only complaint is the second half of this drama became a little draggy and boring. 

The three main leads have great chemistry. The first half was good but the last half (Eps 13-16) were so draggy like I had to skip some scenes but overall a good drama to watch.

I watched this when I was young and I liked it. After rewatching it, some scenes are cringy af but It was still enjoyable. Kim Ji Won as Rachel Yoo is a standout.

An enjoyable zombie show with good scope and explanations. The characters were just uninteresting but still enjoyable.

A good sci-fi thriller series. It has some cons though, The first episodes were slow paced but in the second half where it picked up and became really thrilling. The big reveal was not that spectacular for me personally, The only characters I cared about was Bae Doona's and Kim Sunyoung's characters and surprisingly both of them lived until the end. A good watch with great atmosphere, thought provoking story and great acting performance from Bae Doona especially.

Simple thrilling plotline with great acting performances from the main cast especially Han So Hee but majority of the characters were uninteresting so it was quite a chore to watch. I stuck to the end for Mu Jin, Ji Woo's revenge and cool action sequences.

I did actually like this. Yes, I do have agree that some scenes were draggy and it was confusing sometimes but I did like how they experimented with this show and how they showed how religion really divided us and how cults and the media can manipulate anyone so easily. Hats off too Won Ji Ah as Song So Hyun really stole the spotlight. It needed more explanation, and the cliffhanger was really frustrating they could've just made this into a 10 episode drama, it could help with the world building and characterization of other characters. Overall, a hit or miss for some people but for me I liked it but it still had alot of flaws.

This started the ban of Chinese BL lmao. The story is toxic af but it was quite enjoyable.

My first ever variety show and I liked the exploration of various dance styles.

Not the worst from the History series but surely not the best. The chemistry between the actors are good, but the ending was so unnecessary. 

This was just an OK drama with funny moments and likable characters (Carson, Terris and Hyun Min in particular).

It was an OK BL drama. Kim Ji Woong & Yoon Seo Bin was the highlight of the whole show.

My first ever BL it has a lot of problematic aspects though.

This is one of the first BLs I have watched and this is where I discovered Ohm Pawat, my ultimate BL actor crush. It's not a perfect BL but it gives you a sense of nostalgia. But there's alot of problematic elements in this story that made me uncomfortable after rewatching this again.

This was hella toxic in a bad way.
