A unique, intriguing and touching story about a group of average musicians trying to do the best possible they can, given their dark pasts, secrets, weaknesses, circumstances and personalities, through their devotion to music, their bonding and friendship.
I loved how the set-up of each scene spoke with its viewers rather than having the actors say much, but also the brilliant, unconventional dialogues. -

"A life isn't valued by what one receives, but by what one gives."
A whimsical tragi-comedy -spiced with musical elements- told in flashbacks/glimpses into the troubled, frivolous and vibrant life of Matsuko.
With an outstanding cinematography, full of vivid colours and an outlandish as well as unforgettable style, this jarring sarcastic fairytale isn't for everyone, but definitely deserves a try. -

It could have been much better with this cast, but it felt somehow 'procedural' and rushed - not that inspiring for such a real tragic love story...

40. It's Thorny
Korean Drama - 2021, 8 episodes
It's cheesy, fluffy, with a rather non-sensical plot that would have been a flop with longer or more eps, but not that bad for a mini drama.

45. Saving Rock

If you overlook the overacting and overdramatic expressions here and there, it was funny, unique and had a great bromance.
-
46. Een deel van jouw geest
Korean Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
It took me a while to warm up to it, but overall this slow-paced, healing story was a nice watch.
Beautiful cinematography and colouring, ethereal directing and acting were its strongest elements, while the confusing first episodes, the overly dramatic tone of the last episodes and, especially, the feeling that sometimes 'it was trying too much' to tug at our heartstrings, weakened the final outcome. -
47. Dream Knight
Korean Drama - 2015, 12 episodes
-
48. Warm Hug
Chinese Movie - 2020
Surprisingly entertaining, though it's a non-brainer quasi-musical comedy, spiced with melodrama hints. The best part were the visuals, the colour palette and Li Qin's charms.
-
49. Kokoro no Ito
Japanese Special - 2010, 1 episode
Bittersweet, simple, yet touching slice-of-life story of a boy and his hearing impaired mother, full of loud silences and mellow piano music.
-
50. Drama Special Season 13: Stain
Korean Special - 2022, 1 episode
https://mydramalist.com/profile/penel/feeds/15w4pfR
A compelling, dark and twisted story, serving also as a social commentary, of an unprivileged young man and the depths of his desperation to achieve his dream. -
51. Let's Go Karaoke!
Japanese Movie - 2024
A funny, heartwarming story of an unlikely friendship, with lots of melodies and cacophonies, comic and dramatic moments.
The storytelling could have been much better and the characters more properly fleshed out, but overall the movie was enjoyable thanks to the great chemistry between rookie Saito Jun and veteran Ayano Go, whose performance was totally on point even though his voice was hilariously off beat.

Japanese Movie - 2004
-
56. Our Shining Days
Chinese Movie - 2017
https://mydramalist.com/profile/penel/feeds/3bwaEotm
Cute, funny (and noisy) music/youth story, combining classical and traditional chinese music, with an extra dose of romance and friendship. -
57. Go Go 70s
Korean Movie - 2008
https://mydramalist.com/profile/penel/feeds/4aRrzruB
Nostalgic and uplifting, with a fantastic Shin Min Ah and a cute, young Cho Seung Woo.
A biopic about The Devils, a Korean rock band, Singing and dancing rock'n'roll, with a not-so-subtle political subtext about the struggles and acts of defiance of young people against the repressive authorities. -
58. 20-year-old Soul
Japanese Movie - 2022
https://mydramalist.com/profile/penel/feeds/dXQ6kcB
Bitter-sweet, inspiring but too predictable and 'noisy'.
Definitely not the best work of Kamio Fuju (he did put a lot of effort but he was a mismatch).
But, knowing this is based on a true story and a real person, it hits different and most of its mishaps can be overlooked. -
59. Hip Hop Teacher
Korean Drama - 2017, 10 episodes
